Jill was absolutely great to work with. We were in a rush to finish a property we were working on and she took our mulch order and had it ready and delivered first thing in the morning. On time and a great attitude. The mulch was really great looking and she had the perfect size truck to fit where we needed it to.
Im in love with Jill and her dirt! No seriously, I was looking to support a local place during this time during Covid19. Dig My Earth was recommended by 3 different individuals. They have compost, top soil, dirt, and mulch. They are knowledgeable and will help you make a blend that meets your needs. If you have have the desire to compost, they will take deliveries (just call and make sure youre giving them the right stuff first). Its also in beautiful Fort Hunter, so a nice drive from the city. Thank you Jill!
This year was our first year getting topsoil from Dig My Earth. They were able to provide a quick turnaround in delivery at competitive costs. From my perspective it superior topsoil from what Ive received in the past.We had a minor hiccup along the way but I was blown away by the professionalism and kindness of the staff. I will definitely be calling them again. Thanks for all the help Jill!
The site has really been improved 100% - hours are great and the few staff Ive talked to are friendly and helpful. Ive been using the facility for a long time, I want to say at least 15 years and I appreciate being able to have such a facility. And no more mud bogging which is a plus. Good job guys!
I can only echo what the other reviewers have said. Customer service is fantastic and they offer a truly great product. Jill took my order had it mixed and delivered within an hour. We talked for a bit and she sent me the entire compost lab breakdown. Absolutely fantastic!
Jill is awesome! Fantastic customer service and great attitude. Ordered and received a half and half mix of topsoil and compost and it is amazing black fluffy dirt. Extremely pleased! Will be ordering more!!
The leaf compost is absolutely great!!!Aslo, Jill is very helpful and outgoing, there is no doubt she cares about the customer and the quality of the compost!!Why whould you use leaf compost?*Drought damage to plants is reduced because of an increased water-holding capacity of the soils.*Soil tilth is improved making the soils easier to cultivate.*Very small amounts of the 16 essential elements needed for plant growth are supplied.*Adverse effects of excessive alkalinity, acidity, or over-fertilization are reduced by the added buffering of the soil.*The cation exchange capacity of soils is increased, enabling the soils to hold more plant nutrients for longer periods.*Decomposition of the organic matter produces organic acids which combine with iron and aluminum ions, thereby reducing their potential toxicity to plants. This also makes more phosphorus available for plants because free iron and aluminum can tie up the phosphates.*The added organic matter provides a food source for desirable soil micro-organisms.*When incorporated into the soil, or used in a thin mulch 1/16- to 1/8-inch thick, compost helps seeds to germinate.*Decrease water evaporation losses from the soil.*Keep the soils cooler in hot weather and warmer in cold weather.*Reduce alternate freezing and thawing of soils which can injure the fibrous roots of plants.*Help to prevent soil erosion by wind or water. Keep soils friable, therefore easier to cultivate.*Increase biological activity of earthworms and other soil organisms.*Prevent soil spattering on leaves, flowers, or fruits such as strawberries.*Reduce soil compaction from rain and irrigation water.*Help to control weeds.
