Fantastic! Best breakfast place we have visited in a while. Everything was delicious, especially the Buttermilk pancakes, Cornmeal Pancakes, fresh butter, & cream! LOVE that all their ingredients are locally sourced, very fresh, all natural, and of the highest quality! Very helpful and friendly staff. Totally worth the wait. Can’t wait to come back!
What a wonderful find. This is a nice, clean and super friendly place to relax and eat. We had breakfast and they had several wonderful items on their menu.As a health care professional that emphasizes healthy foods, I was overwhelmed by their knowledge in preparing foods that are easy on your stomach if you have food sensitivities. The grill uses Early Balance SOY FREE margarine and canola oil is also used thus taking care of people with soy problems. That would be I. Their pancakes were homemade with wholesome ingredients. I tried their Vegan Oatmeal cookie which was delicious. They even took time to prepare their home fries properly(boiled and cut and quick fried in a soy free oil. They were the most delicious home fries I have ever eaten. They are also not heavy handed with their usage of salt, which is an epidemic nowadays. The most important point to make is that it is now 2 hours after eating breakfast, and my stomach is at peace and I feel well after eating.DON’T MISS THIS ONE!!!!
The food was outstanding and the people were so friendly. I even left my phone inside and one of the nice girls ran outside after me to give it back to back.Overall I was very impressed
Really eclectic and cute little diner with some very delicious vegetarian and gluten free options. I tried the potato pesto dish and my spouse tried the huevos rancheros. They were both exceptionally delicious and filling.Great service and price for the meal. Would definitely like to try more of their dishes if we every come back this direction.
I cant begin to explain the amazing experience I had at the Little Collective. Everything was amazing! And the fact that the owner was out on the floor with her staff is just Awesome! Everything was fresh and local! So much so that I went to have breakfast multiple days the week I was in Harrisonburg. Definitely a recommended location.
This place is super yummy and the staff is so sweet. I got the bowl with tofu and veggies and everything was so fresh and filling and delicious! Boyfriend got the chicken burrito and it was also great. I am hoping to come back for breakfast one day if we are in the area again!
Excellent breakfast made with high quality ingredients. The cheese on the eggs was particularly good!
Came in to town to visit JMU and found this quaint local restaurant. Great breakfast!
So cute! The food was delicious! I didnt know what to expect but the really nice server recommended the grits and they were amazing! I went with my son and he had the breakfast burrito and he loved it. Lots of vegetarian option. Unique flavors that go really well together. Cute and casual atmosphere. I plan on being a regular.
Excellent food and service! One of the most flavorful breakfasts we’ve had. Small place with a warm cozy feel, family friendly. Staff is so considerate! Example; an older woman came in and obviously had fallen into hard times, they didn’t treat her any less courteous or attentive. Very very impressed by this. Will definitely come back anytime we’re in town. Facts that also make this a great place, it’s employee owned and they make public the amount of products that are locally sourced. Truly farm to table, Love it!!! Don’t let the area or outside appearance fool you... we almost left when we first arrived. SO glad we gave them a shot, our entire family LOVED IT!!!
A breakfast paradise! We were so impressed with their vegan tofu scramble! I could eat it every day! Great options for the two vegan/vegetarian adults and our omnivorous kids! We tried the buttermilk pancakes, bacon, vegan scramble, veggie omelet, & home fries! Huge portions and delicious! We loved it and will definitely be back!
This is easily the best restaurant around! They always satisfy with flavorful, healthy, local dishes. It’s very vegetarian friendly, but meat eaters are always happy here too. I love introducing this place to friends and family, because I know they’ll always deliver.LGC is cute and cozy. It’s worth the wait, if there is one. The menu is continually updated and is shaped around seasonal goods, which make the food even more comforting. The coffee is the best in town too! You absolutely need to have breakfast here, but try it for lunch too!
Awesome place for breakfast! Omelette and breakfast burrito were delicious. Coffee was great, service was prompt and friendly. Locally sourced food with veggie options but also real eggs and breakfast meat available. Doesnt look like much from the outside but comfortable inside. Hope we can come back soon.
I had breakfast here and it was good. The food is fresh and tasty. Must try the blueberry pancake and Burrito.
I really enjoyed my lunch that I had with my friends!!! I was wondering while there, why Charlottesville did not have an establishment like THIS!!! THEY DO AN AMAZING JOB HERE!!! 😍
The staff were polite, the food was good, the restaurant was clean and well kept. Overall a good experience!
Such a yummy breakfast. Quaint little joint. Make sure to get there early to avoid a long table wait.
Delicious food and good service. Really cute place and I love that it’s worker owned.
How do I even begin... this place makes you feel like you are eating with family. Every time I visit, the staff is incredibly friendly and hard working! The food is delicious, seasonal, fresh, and local. This is a spot my partner and I always have to visit every time we are in town. Some must tries are the veggie chili and huevos rancheros!
This place is a little hole in the wall place. It is located right next to an automotive repair business so looks are not the best around the area next to it. The building is a bit old as well. Inside isn’t the newest but looks can be deceiving. It was fast service to be seated. The place isn’t super big but it was big enough I think because the parking is hard to come by to be able to eat here. We noticed some people come in and get food to go.Service was good. She brought everything we asked for. She was helpful with questions about the menu as well. Average response time for bringing extra butter, syrup, etc. My water never got refilled though and we were there for over 45 minutes sitting down. The menu was quite interesting.I got the buttermilk pancakes which I thought were a little dry. They were good but not my favorite. I would prefer IHOP pancakes over these. The restaurant or waitress seemed to be a bit skimpy on the butter. They only brought me enough butter to barely fit on one of the pancakes. I got the short stack so it was 2 pancakes. I wouldn’t order the pancakes again. They weren’t as fluffy as I like them.I got the whole wheat biscuit to try out and it was good for a wheat biscuit. One of my breakfast guests got the burrito bowl. It was good. He said he would order it again. The lemon poppy seed pancakes were really good. My friend said she would order it again. The bacon was good but nothing special. The sourdough French toast was good my friend said. He would get it again. He ate it all.The home fries were fried chunks of potatoes. They were good and crispy but nothing special. The ketchup on the table that I used to dip the potatoes in tasted homemade and we are pretty sure it was homemade.Prices were not bad. About average for breakfast.I seemed to be the oddball out at this restaurant since the other 3 people I was with preferred this place over Thunderbird Café that we went to the other day and I preferred their food. The 4 stars are from my breakfast companions.
Really really good food and very friendly staff!
Wow. We vacationed in this area and needed a quick bite and landed here. Absolutely loved it! The service and vibe was wonderful and the food was the best breakfast meal either of us have had in recent memory.
Had an incredible meal here. Juevos rancheros were on point. Lemon poppyseed pancakes were amazing. Just the idea of this collective is awesome. Friendly staff. 10/10 experience.
Nice organic food, friendly people. 👏🏽
Omelets were delicious! They make their own vegan cheese and it was good. Highly recommended!
The best spot for breakfast near JMU. It is little as the name suggests but the food is awesome! So fresh, so reasonably priced, and so good. I always make a point to stop in for pancakes when I’m visiting JMU!
Our favorite breakfast spot in town! Something for everyone
Very tasty food. I had the Rancheros egg meal... so delicious 😋 Also, the atmosphere had a bit of an Asheville vibe; odd & unique
The food here was delicious and everyone was so nice! First thing the waitress said to me was that she liked my outfit :) My boyfriend also has a dairy allergy which they accommodated for and he had no complaints whatsoever!
If you in the area, you HAVE to come here. Really. Just do it! It was delicious and the staff is super friendly.
Outstanding food and service!! Fresh ingredients, well prepared, seasoned to perfection and reasonably priced. We had the veggie omelet, home fries and orange/cranberry scone. All delish but the scone was heavenly. Enjoy this little gem.
Only complaint is the tap water was terrible. Vegan friendly. Locally sourced veggies and cheese and eggs. Would definitely go again.
What a find!!! After spending a few days in Harrisonburg my son and his friends told me that he was at this sweet place called The Little Grill Collective My girlfriend and I were about to head home, but upon his recommendation we decided to stop for breakfast... So glad we did. Hip vibe... Very clean... Fantastic service... The food was beautiful fresh and delicious... Best restaurant we went to during our stay!!! Well done Little Grill... If were ever in the area again well definitely be back.
Great eats using locally sourced ingredients. Has gluten free items on menu. Service was good and food is fairly priced. I suggest blue monkey pancakes or the breakfast burrito.
Im giving you guys 5 stars since you brought the Groovy Gravy back!! Now, if you can just bring back the Tempeh Reuben, wed be all set.
Really good brunch!!!!!!! And attentive, responsive service! A highlight of our trip East, and we tell our friends in Ohio all about this restaurant!
This was such a great place. Looking forward to being able to come back. The food was amazing!
Such a wonderful restaurant! The employees are incredibly kind and the food is so delicious and satisfying every time.
Where to begin is a GREAT question. I will start from the moment we entered the establishment and felt an immediate chilled and at peace vibe. We were added to the waiting list which sends you a text that you can check your location in the line. That was too cool and I assume it eliminates the hey, I just want to check as you are NOT forgotten. Kudos to the person that decided to use that system. Yes, you might have to wait just a little to get a seat BUT it is worth it due to seating capacity for the many wonderful guests that frequent the establishment. Now to the food!!!!!! We are plant-based and they had a great selection for us as well. My wife ordered the Tofu Scramble and loved it. The waitress mentioned the Buckwheat pancakes as a great choice for me. I asked the size and how many I should have. She mentioned two was in the stack. She was spot on about the size and even mentioned the chocolate chips which were dairy free (what was not to love?????). I added some blackberry jam that rocked!!!!!! I have not had buckwheat pancakes in ages and all I can say is that these are the BEST I have ever had. Holy moly were they good and even my wife had a few bites (it rings true, what is hers is hers and what is mine can be tasted by her as well). I hope that you get the idea that this place is legit from the service to the food. If you have not been there yet, what are you waiting for????? If you enjoy this place, it stands to reason why because at the time of me writing this review their were over 670 reviews. Five stars and two thumbs up all the way!!!!!!!
Delicious food and great staff!
Great breakfast. Bacon best I have eaten
My favorite place in the burg! Everything I’ve tried has been amazing and flavorful. Carrot cake pancakes are delicious!
The food is great yes. Great service
Great food and a cool vibe
Perfect in every way, except the wait time...Pros:-Groovy and modern environment-Wonderful staff!-Well managed to make the most of your money-Surprisingly affordable!-SPECTACULAR food with an evolving menu-Almost exclusively local ingredientsCons:-You pretty much have to call ahead (under normal conditions)(Literally no other cons)
Cool little place. Great food and service! The potato boat had amazing flavors in every bite.
Love their tofu eggs with avocado sauce!! Amazing!
The LGC prides itself on only using local produce to give you the freshest meal you can have. Believe them, youll taste the Valley in every bite. Ive had burritos in San Diego, Los Angeles & all over the nation, but their breakfast burrito is hands down the best one Ive ever had and their salsa is something I want to swim in (its that good.) The staff is among the friendliest of any in HBurg and bring your family and friends for a meal here is a must. Easily 5 stars and a great meal to be had!
We had one of the most pleasant experience here. Food was very tasty. We can taste freshness and care it was made with. Molly was very welcoming and courteous. Sad that we dont have restaurant like this where we live. But definitely come back when ever we are travelling this side.
The Little Grill provides wonderful options for a variety of diets. Not only are their menu items delicious, but they are relatively inexpensive, especially for the portion size. I never leave hungry or dissatisfied. For those who worry that its only catered towards vegetarians, they have sausage and other dishes that contain meat so dont let the vegetarian label ward you off!If looking for a comfy and casual place to grab a meal, the Little Grill is a perfect fit. Its truly a gem of Harrisonburg.
Food was delicious and the waitress was very nice! The outside is kinda off-putting but its good food!
I appreciate their decaf coffee, good food, and friendly service.
Its a trendy place rather than the place you go to for a great breakfast. The last time I ate there almost all of the clientele were half my age. The coffee is good and my wife can get a gluten free buckwheat pancake. Thats the main reason I go. Ive only been there for breakfasts, but Ive been there many 20 times.
This was our first time at this restaurant. We were traveling to NC and stayed overnight at the James Madison Hotel. We actually left the restaurant of the hotel because of the poor service and I Googled diners near me. I selected The Little Grill Collective since it was close by and the rating was good. The service was great and the food was Awesome! We will make this our yearly stop! Thank you ❤🌈
Owned by the employees, and you can tell it. They all care about their restaurant. The food is wonderful, and quite reasonably priced. The server/owners are great. I cant say enough good things about the Little Grill Collective.
Great little brunch spot. Great food & great service. We wanted to eat at a local spot and found this one in Harrisonburg.
Quick service, well-priced, delicious options, and unique through and through. Skip a chain, eat at the Collective.
The best place for brunch in the valley. Little Grill is a local restaurant in downtown Harrisonburg. Everything on their menu is locally sourced and menu (mostly vegetables) changes seasonally. Highly recommend!
This is a great allergy friendly restaurant for breakfast. I would have given it 5 stars if the service and standards were a little higher. They charge per ounce for real maple syrup and it is difficult to know how much you need. They should just raise the price of the meal and charge a flat rate. Also I ordered vegan pancakes and they didnt come with vegan butter. I asked later bit was halfway done and they were quite bitter and dry. The server said they offer it but only if you ask because it is more expensive. This is crazy to me- I am not eating out on a budget as most people dont. We eat out to splurge and have great tasting food served and cleaned up for us. The cost is not an issue so they need to know their audience better and offer these things up front.
This is a wonderful little place tucked away in Harrisonburg. Last week was the second time we had eaten there while visiting family there and we were again very impressed with the service and food quality. Even if you get something as simple as pancakes, they are unbelievably good. The menu will appeal to vegans and vegetarians, which I am neither, but there was plenty of awesome menu items that would appeal to anyone. Delicious, well prepared, and plenty of it. And the coffee was amazing. 5 stars!
First time there for breakfast. Friendly staff and delicious food.
Wonderful brunch. Strong emphasis on local foods. Worker owned. Friendly staff. Delicious food at a reasonable price. Best in town for breakfast/brunch - hands down.
The menu is different compared to other restaurants since this restaurant has a lot of vegetarian/vegan options but it was delicious. A lot of choices and all of the food we had was delicious. Will definitely be going back.
Food was good. Waitress was pleasant and we didnt have to wait long. Menu was limited and quirky. Portion size was sufficient and waitress was pleasant.
I had one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had in my entire life here. The staff is SO friendly and they were big help even though the place was packed. Little Grill Collective is everything I want in a restaurant. I want to eat here every day. This is just after a first impression. Keep it up guys! 💚💚💚
The Little Grill Collective is a Harrisonburg staple that should not be missed if you are in town. This is a quirky little restaurant with interesting and tasty food made with locally sourced ingredients. The staff all seem to really get along and work as a team to serve customers and keep a cool vibe in the place. Breakfast and lunch are both excellent options here, and there is a bulletin board with all of the local events in town.
Best vegan/vegetarian restaurant in VA! Food is amazing!!!🤍
Our waiter, Chris Briggs, was the best host one might imagine. It is always a pleasure to be served by someone who likes what they do and does an incredible job. Thanks Chris for a great evening!
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. Worker-owned, excellent food! This place knows what works and what to keep. No complaints in 20 years of going here.
I had modest expectations and was blown away. My partner and I couldnt talk about anything other than how good the food was the entire meal, and at a price comparable to cheap fast casual options. Staff was excellent, atmosphere was lovely, information about their suppliers was abundantly placed around the restaurant, vegetarian and gluten free options were the majority of the menu. Couldnt recommend highly enough, except that it can be difficult to get a table and the space is definitely about as small as it could be.
A beautifully positive atmosphere with delicious food. The coffee was hot, food was good and service was attentive and wonderful - what more could you ask for.The hardworking atmosphere was definitely inspiring. Will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this place.
I love this place. I love the staff and the food is off-the-charts delicious! A very wonderful and intimate place to hang out with a friend. :-) this place will quickly become your favorite place!
Amazing food and atmosphere!
Great food and great service
Stopped in for breakfast party of two. Told it would be a twenty five min wait when a party of two got up and left. They bussed the table and my daughter and I thought perfect there going to seat us. Instead they rudely told us go outside and wait. Which wouldn’t have been that bad but it was in the 30’s outside. Needless to say we went outside alright and got in the car and left. There’s plenty of places to eat so we will never be back.
Ive eaten their food a few times which was really delicious. breakfast was great. But to be completely honest, I only come here for the cookies. Those cookies I tell you, amazing! Cute little cafe with VG/V/GF options.
By far the best breakfast place in Harrisonburg
Whenever I come back from backpacking this is a MUST stop on the way back to DC. I only get breakfast because the pancakes are incredible! Especially the seasonal ones. It is always busy, there is always a wait, but usually not more than 30 min and its so worth it. Really nice staff, always happy. The only thing that would make this place more perfect is if they took amex. They are so great though I cant deduct a star for that. Keep up great work folks!
They were so helpful a few weeks ago while I was placing a takeout order! And they even went above and beyond and brought my food out to my car for me so I would not have to wake up a 7 month old and 2 year old!! LIFE SAVERS!! Plus the food was super yummy!
Driving up from Roanoke I had plenty of time to look at reviews. This little place doesnt disappoint. Several previous patrons had good experiences with the same dish so I played it safe and had the same. Maybe next time Ill be more adventurous.
