Good selection but the pandemic has a lot of their inventory on back order for weeks

I recently was looking for a lamp for my desk and found one online at Connecticut Lighting Center. I called with questions at least twice about the bulb and both times the person I spoke with was prompt returning my calls and helpful answering my questions. The lamp shipped fast and I love it. Its perfect for my desk set up.

Beautiful selection but was disappointed with customer service. I just left the store after being inside with my family for over 20 minutes without someone greeting us or asking if we needed help. It wasn’t busy and we would’ve been quick and painless since we already knew exactly what we needed 😒 I won’t give it an overall low star rating because I know we all have our “off days” but really hoping this isn’t the norm.

Had a great experience. They have the best selection, best prices and best service. Thank you guys!

We have been here through several renovations, or just when looking for a unique light fixture. The people here really understand the business of lighting, and can help you lay out a great plan for your renovation.We had an issue with one fixture ( out of dozens we purchased over the years) and they were very responsive in taking care of it for us.This is the best selection of lighting you will find anywhere in the area, and the pricing is competitive with the box stores. Be prepared, the place is usually busy, but it doesnt take long to find capable help.

Wow. Their stock is phenomenal and their staff is amazing! But for the love of God, choose divorce before bringing your wife here 😉. They dont just sell lighting fixtures. Its a full-service home decor place. And yes, even men will say huh... Glad I came here.

You can get any light fixture you you can think of. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have cabinets handles and locks. Very impressive.

Huge selection all different styles. Some of the fixtures are hung a bit low. At 62 I bumped my several times.

Great local/regional lighting store. Even when I dont know exactly what Im looking for, I always seem to be able to find it here! Although lighting can get expensive, the I found the prices are always reasonable. The staff extremely knowledgeable and pleasant!

My experience was very good, I walked in with broken old ceiling fan switch, upon entry to the store I was greeted by a lovely woman who spared no time taking my broken part away to see what can be done to fix it, she returned with a gentleman who showed me how to fix it and actually fixed himself. I highly recommend this store, they have all kinds of fixtures, lamps and cool stuff.The staff is very professional and they know what theyre doing. It all worked out well.

Just outstanding in every way. Theres always knowledgeable staff to greet and serve you regardless of the number of customers in the store. Between the main store and its sister store across the street, youll be able to find anything you need. Ive been purchasing from Connecticut Lighting for over 30 years as both a retail and commercial customer and have never been disappointed. Everything in life should be so easy.

Lights i was looking for were on web site but not in store. I wanted to see what they looked like in person and how bright they were. Could order them for me but if I did not want them it would be a 30% restocking fee. Guess I will just order online from another supplier and return for free if I decide against them. Online really is more convenient than going to a store.

I love the large selection of hardware for cabinets. We are doing the kitchen and my wife had a hard time agreeing on what to buy at other stores. However, we found a lot of hardware that we liked!

I recently shopped Connecticut Lighting Centers and was pleasantly surprised by the huge selection of lighting and even more surprised by the great prices. Their sales staff knows what they are talking about and I loved working with them. I will highly recommend Connecticut Lighting to all my friends.

Everyone was super nice when I went there. However, I had a huge box I was returning for my mom and I was standing there for a while not knowing what to do and where to go with it and nobody asked if I needed help for a while. But once they did it was a good experience.

I am a member of Direct Buy, which touts unbeatable prices for members who pay thousands of dollars to sign up. Even so, CT Lighting had pretty comparable prices.What has set the business apart from others is the high level of service they have provided me. I have worked with most of the staff in the store, and they are all nice, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I hit a lot of unrelated snags in my remodel, delaying the completion of my project tremendously. Throughout the process, Paul, who worked with me the closest, sent me emails to check up on my progress and made sure I was being taken care of. Since high-quality service is very important to me, particularly with the dizzying array of lighting options available, I would definitely recommend CTLightings services.For fair balance, I would say that at peak times, the store can get quite crowded, and it is not always easy to find a staff member who isnt working with a customer to get a question answered. This is particularly important when you have questions on a specialty item, like under-cabinet LED or various track lighting options. I would suggest setting up an appointment during those peak times or go during off hours, because I found it surprising how long it really took to get a handle on things and then buy the perfect piece of lighting for each application.

We visited the store today as we are remodelling our house. Unfortunately we got there 20 minutes before they opened. The doors were open and my wife and I went in to be met by an older gentleman that said in a very angry way “we’re closed!!!” Not “I’m sorry we won’t be open for another 20 mins”If this man represents your company you may want to give him lessons in customer service.....You have basically lost our business in the space of 30 seconds with this persons terrible attitude.

I went in today to look for a chandelier for my home. My family had purchased many here previously, so this place was recommended by close family.I went in and had a retail lady (very nice lady) show me some peices.She went to ask one of the male employees for any ideas or other peices to show me, and he responded with DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM not knowing i was standing behind him.My mother found a peice she liked and wanted to purchase, but Clearly i wasnt going to do any business there after hearing that. I left feeling really disrespected and judged. If this employee only knew that you shouldnt judge a book by its cover.

My husband and I are undergoing electrical and plumbing renovations in our 1850s era home and have been looking to replace our kitchen pendants and a combination fan light. We live in Monson, MA, but I work at UConn and decided to make a day of attending the Artists Open Studios of NE CT, then check out the Blue Black Square Shops. I checked on line for a CT lighting gallery to add to our trip, and your website came up.We are so glad we stopped at the store. So many lights we saw on-line looked nothing like they do in-person. We have been looking at a lot of lights for weeks on-line and were overwhelmed by both the number of choices and the fact that we couldnt find exactly what we wanted. We also were unable to tell what quality the products were.Although we were approached by a salesperson when we first entered the store, he was unable to help us find the light we saw on your website because although we had the name and item# of the light we didnt know the manufacturers name. Another sales person helped us find the light that was similar to what we were looking for and told us he could order any light for us, which we declined knowing that it could look totally different from the website.After abandoning our search for a pendant light we asked a woman at the register for bathroom light vents and a young salesman volunteered to show us the way. Not only did he sell us a ceiling vent light, he helped us find penadant lights too. He took us across the street to the other store, and when those lights were out of our price range, he stayed with us and helped us find the right light for us. Although we offered him a break so he could attend other clients as we shopped around, he checked back in with us and made sure we were taken care of. He also noticed that a tag was marked with an incorrect bulb wattage and made sure we got the correct replacement bulbs.The young salesman turned out to be Todd, the owners son. He knew the inventory very well, he knew the specifications of the products, he knew whether the quality of the product was good or bad, and why, and he politely asked other staff for assistance with getting lights turned on so we could see them properly lighted. Todd went the extra mile for us even though he knew we were on a limited budget. We did end up spending a total of over $500, which for us is a large but necessary expense; but we feel good that we are getting quality products and that we can always return any product with which we are not fully satisfied.We were very impressed with Todds skill as a salesman. He is knowledgeable, friendly and polite, and knows how to make a sale without making the customer feel pressured. I will recommend to all my friends and family your store for all their lighting needs.Thank you, Todd, for turning an overwhelming process into a logical decision based on our best options available.

Recently because of a large kitchen renovation we stopped in at CT Lighting. Lighting Designer MJ greeted us. Admittedly we were overwhelmed at first with the huge selection and all the possibilities and we had just started our lighting search. But our lighting designer saw the dazed look and settled us in. She took time to get to know us and then our design thoughts. You could tell it was more about what was right for us than it was the pure sale. After some time, she pointed us at what my wife saw as a winning solution, a series of 3 lights that nailed the design exacly. Me, I wasnt as sure. Sensing my hesitency, MJ suggested we take them home for a few days and see for ourselves how they would fit. Again, it was about getting it exactly right. MJ even had a floor model taken off the ceiling to make this all work for us.I had no idea walking in what I was about to experience. I mean theyre only lights, right? I place such an importance on the service experience that at times I will pay more for a product just because of the service. MJ and CT Lighting made this amazing and because of that CT Lighting will be my first choice as I continue with the next set of renovations.
