This Asian supermarket is way better than most if not all of the Asian supermarkets that I have ever been in terms of variety of selections, cleanness, freshness and quality of the products. The most impressive selections are their meat department and seafood department. I can find all kinds of meat to meet any of the culinary purpose: Western style or Korean style BBQ, hotpot, Chinese simmering soup, etc. Marinated or raw, they are all fresh. The seafood section is dry and clean with live seafood in a wet tank. The selection is exceptional. Every time I go there, I’d try something different. The deli/cooked food are flavorful. I live in Connecticut. Since I discovered this store, I’ve been there in every other month. I do not mind the long drive because I know I would be rewarded good food.
This is a great location-there is Korean and Japanese food primarily- I found Udon noodles 🍜 and Kimchi the two things I was wanting to try. There is a cafe and small food court inside-it reminded me of the markets you see on the travel shows about Korea or Japan when they film at the street markets in those countries. Its a great vibe and very busy. You can find meats and fresh seafood. A micro travel food experience within Harstdale at this great Hmart location. Go there and taste/eat something new!!🍣🍤🍙🍜🍱

I’m a regular customer and this is my quick place to go to when I need fresh veggies, seafood and meat. I always buy ginger. This store is the reason why the other nearby market close down their business 🤣 nothing can beat Hmart in central ave. (Knocks on wood)...Tous Le Jours bubble tea are awesome and their pastries are always fresh and delightfully yummy🤤 😋 . They go on sale after 8pm but sometimes it’s annoying when the person in charge changes the deal a second after you purchase something. For example 3 for $5 pastries you paid off changes to 4 for $5 after you already bought and you cannot refund ha. Or add . It’s okay though lol I just want another red bean pastry for free.
After spending time in Korea it’s nice to see a supermarket that carries 90% of what you’d find there. The prepared food is identical to what you’d find in Seoul. Great fish department with mongers that know what they’re selling. Love coming here. 👍👍👍

The H Mart in Hartsdale is a unique supermarket chain with a fabulous produce and fruit selection. If you are looking for Japanese yams or almost any variety of potatoes, they have it! If you’ve been frustrated by the limited selection of mushrooms at other supermarkets, they have an exceptional array of shiitake, Bella and other hard to find mushrooms. They have one of the largest and most extensive fish department and if you are looking for tofu or miso they have many varieties to choose from. The only problem you’ll have is maneuvering through their aisles on a weekend when their store is packed with customers. My advice is bring your own shopping bags so you can move with more ease as you traverse the narrow aisles. Try to go during a weekday and if you have to shop on the weekend, go early in the morning! And if you are interested in buying rice in bulk, they have every imaginable brand and huge bags at the front of their cash registers.
Went to buy sashimi there today. It was rotten! (See pics of brown and green rot on fish.) I asked to see the manager. I guy from the fish department named ‘Mike’ (not sure that’s his real name) said he was in-charge and told me there was no manager in the store. I showed him the fish, and he said there was nothing wrong with it and rudely walked away. I’ve been buying fresh sashimi for decades, and I know when fish is rancid. For $40 per pound, it should not have brown and green rot! Shame on them. Will never shop at this Hmart again. The Hmart in Yonkers has much fresher sashimi.
The produce, fish and meat are fresh and affordable but everything else is overpriced. You can get the same stuff for less than half from various smaller stores in White Plains. We wanted to buy some ice cream but it was soft and melting. The freezers werent cold enough.
This store is a lot busier than the Yonkers store and has a good selection but could use some improvement. I like the layout of this store better, but the Yonkers store is a lot cleaner. I havent checked lately but the restroom here was disgusting. Another complaint; the stock clerks are in practically every isle, all hours of the day, with their pile of boxes, stocking the shelves in isles that are more narrow than most supermarkets. Some are rude and dont make much of an effort to move aside to let you get through.
A common practice in h-mart which i have noticed so many times is the sale price hoax. When you buy on-sale items here, there is very high chance that the price you will be ask to pay at the check out are the original before sale prices. It is completely intentional, If you notice that and point it out, they would knowingly and quietly make price adjustments, but if you didnt pay attention or didnt want to hold up the line, then they can take the advantage. It is happen so often that yesterday I tested it by take photos of items i bought and watch the cash register and I caught it on the on-sale cold noodle packs. Once i pointed out the casher quietly adjusted the price.Also be careful buying cheap unknown brands marked as made in korea, most of them are H-mart brands mostly produced in China and packaged in Korea, therefor get by the regulations.
Horrible customer service! I dont go here usually but whenever I shop here there is an issue(usually meats and seafoods). This time I bought a bag of fruit and it was all rotten. When I called them about this, their way of dealing with the problem was extremely unprofessional( She said she is not sure there was mangosteen or not, means am I lying now?..zeez) Hope to see improvements in the future even though I wont go back there again.

Went there today at 11.45. i went to seafood section bought 2 pieces of red snapper, the worker wrapped 1 paper and stick the price tag on it and put it a plastic bag. Is this how he packs fish there? i have been shopping with you for over 6 years never gotten this kind of service before. He picked me!! i saw 1 custumer before and 2 after me and he did in the right way for them but for me? I had to asked the other worker to put my fish in a foam tray for me well the second one did the right way but reused that plastic bag. Thank you for making my car stink as hell. I wasnt picky or did anything for him to mad at me at all. No greeting no thank you but i dont care. What an ignorant and unprofessional the first worker is!!!! You will see how he handed me the fish there in the pic. so disappointed!!
An unbelievable selection of all sorts of Asian Cuisine. I personally don’t do my weekly grocery shopping here, but there are so many specialty options to chose from if you’re in the mood for something different.
Definitely by far, the best Asian market in Westchester. Love the fact that I dont have to travel to Flushing or NJ to get groceries. Great prices on fruits and veggies. Meats and seafood freshness and prices will surprise you. I frequent this market!

Often the food court is a good place to get food; however staff leaves little to be desired. Got an incorrect order and rather than amending it they denied the mistake and even refused to do fix the order.
Constantly overcharge at the register. I have made them aware and the pattern continues. It is not a mistake when it continues and continues!!!!

Manager Kevin wanted me to put an adult mask on my 9mo infant to enter. He doesn’t understand NYC mask rule nor how dangerous to put a mask on an infant. There is a reason why that there is no infant mask available in the market and pediatricians actually don’t recommend to put a mask on infant, bc infants under age 2 might get suffocated. Also he said he couldn’t understand why we had to bring our baby for shopping and make H mart uncomfortable. I kindly explained that we don’t have any family here and we are healthcare workers that don’t have many days off. He ignored us and said no matter what you have a day off at least once in a week -and come on that day so that my husband can wait outside of the H mart with a baby and you can shop or use instacart ! I really had nothing to say. If you have an infant please don’t waste your time here, go somewhere else. They are not only unwelcome you but they actually judge you. Lets not make H mart uncomfortable...Update : saw him again today he himself doesn’t even wear mask properly. You have to cover your nose too
4 Asian food of all types, theres no better place 2 shop in the area. Great seafood, meat & traditional Asian food selection (esp Korean, but carry a wide array of great Asian foods). They stock a limited amount of American brands of foods as well, but not nearly as many American options as other stores- also have an on-site 🍣 bar & really good fresh baked goods.
Nice place to get your Asian groceries. Food court is a plus as you can dine and then shop!

I love coming here to do food shopping! H mart is clean and organized. The bakery has an amazing selection of sweets and drinks. I love the bubble tea! Theres also a small eating area towards the back and the food is simply delicious!
H mart is the best. Everything is fresh and beautiful. The staff is wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. I love the produce dept. Very clean, great presentation always something new to try. The fish dept is very good too. Love their salmon. You have to check out aisles always something exciting down there. Come in the afternoon and theres always something to sample. I just wish the bathrooms were cleaner and go back to one for ladies and one for mens.
I recently had an issue with the bottle deposit refund. I reached out to the manager and he was very polite and helped me solve it.The store is very organized, the vegetables are fresh, and the food court/bakery have great options. I enjoy shopping here and will be coming back often.

Im not from NY but being at HMart was one of my best Asian Mart shopping experiences thus far. The employees were very helpful and kind. There were little tasting stands at almost every corner. Reminded me of the commissary on base back home in VA. I will return. 🤗
Complained to manager and ask to be more respectful to the customers. The Korean cashier was being rude, giving me the look when I tried to help myself put my scanned goods to the plastic bag. Which is my option. So I told her bag it herself. She said after that she did not like that. Or maybe just cultural differences. It will be good for if they do their job which includes reasonable customer service. Wont help next time. Other than that the place is neat and price reasonable. Just a few tweaks. I called manager, Ken said they apoligized and said it will not happen again. Making it 3 stars from 1.
My whole family loves this place. My kids love seeing the live fish swimming around. We buy fresh sashimi grade salmon here, and make our own sushi. The variety of Asian cuisines is really awesome. We always get our fish sauce for Thai food here. And the Japanese Gatsby hair wax is the best hair product I have ever used.
A large, organized, clean, market with the freshest fruit, veggies and food. Close to the Bronx. Many varieties of Asian food products. The Pork Katsu Don dish is delicious! Highly recommended market.
Ive been to 4 branches of the H Mart and am a fan of all. veggies, fish are fresh and frozen foods are quality, they most of the other Asian countries culinary condiments and goods for sale such as Korean, Chinese, Philippine and Vietnamese. They have taste test tables on Sundays. yummy desserts, breads and coffee in their in-house bakery.
Love this place ! The food court has some really good food I used to come here a lot for my breaks from WCC . I have discovered this Korean Coffee that I absolutely love . And there’s so much more in the store that I’m sure everyone can find what they need or discover new foods to try !
The food court is amazing. There are 3 different cuisines in 3 different kitchens. Seating is limited but it has its own charm.

The atmosphere is nice. The staffs are efficient and friendly. I also like that it has a cafeteria with a selection of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese food. The con is that I can find most of the stuff there; it would be nice if they can introduce more veggies like those you can find in Chinatown.
It is a very large space organized by various Asian nationalities plus sections for Americans. Some areas of the store are dimly lit and appear messy. There is also a popular restaurant space organized by various Asian nationalities. I gave it 3-stars because I didnt see anyone cleaning or tidying up.
Horrible customer service! I had a bottle deposit slip from 6 months ago, because I dont usually go to Hmart (very far drive) so I saved it digitally in my phone app Key ring. I gave my friend to use for her grocery at check out because I forgot about it during my checkout. We were called over and accused did you use this coupon over and over again?!This woman - Jane, talked with an obnoxious attitude and sounded very humiliating, as if they view me as a thief, or interrogating some kids who stole money! I told her it is my first time using it, bcz I dont usually carry this slip with me, did not know I would even come to hmart today, thats why I saved in my phone in case I come here one day. I never even thought about re-use, but this woman kept repeating herself that I could use it over and over again.I told her well just pay you the $2.20 instead, not a big deal. I understand it can be store policy and cashiers are not used to seeing digitally stored coupon, which also should void out if next use. But they presented this problem to customer in a very very rude and unprofessional manner. Normally I would just give them the money to peace out, but the way how I was treated made me feel insulted, I decided to write my horrible shopping experience online and will definitely pass around the words. I deal with customer service a lot in my job, this is very poor customer service, they could simply say something more sincerely like I am sorry we dont take digital we need to have the paper slip, instead of being so condescending and kept accusing! this woman Jane from customer service alone with the cashier need to better trained with people skill!

The grocers even has a food court with 3 restaurants: Korean, Japanese and Chinese! I tried the daily Japanese restaurant special of Green Curry and it was wonderful!
This place is awesome. The noodles, the fish, the hot pepper paste. We go all the time for the experience. My kids love the samples and have to try everything. I like the Korean appetizers and the beer selection. And the veggies. This has turned into my fave supermarket in Westchester

Yes, if youre NOT Asian, all they want is your money and they are rude to you but prices on Boars Head cold cuts are much cheaper then Shoprite/Acme/Stop & Shop so ALL I use them for is that period because everything else is MUCH higher priced then the super markets and oh, if you have a coupon when their item is on sale, they have a fit telling you that they are losing money. Really, get a grip!
Very large authentic Asian market with a large selection of imported foods and fresh produce. Very good Korean Japchae, but the udon noodles had little flavor. So much good Asian candy, and very clean store. Cool exotic fruits and veggies too.

If you asked me when I first started shopping there, I would have said, Great place to shop!Yeah right...since then Ive lost at least $50 on meat that went rancid within a day of bringing it home, well before the sell by date. The produce is cheap but the staff is rude and if youre not asian, youre not getting treated right.When I called them and told them some meat went bad (cause the receipt says to call or come back within 24 hours) they said I had to bring it all back to prove I wasnt lying or else how would we know youre telling the truth... So I said, You want me to bring back a huge package of chicken that smells like rotten eggs? Where would you like me to store it in the meantime? She told me, the freezer, then bring it in when you can. Really? Cause if I bring it in still frozen, how will you know it was bad in the first place? But she said the policy is that unless I bring it back I get no credit.Horrible place. Never shopping there again.
I came all the way to this place to look for shirataki noddles and honestly customer service sucks they told me where to go but I can’t understand anything at all so I had no idea how to find it the third time I asked the cashier and she was too busy to help me I just got so frustrated I left I’ll just stick to ordering online since the manager in customer service was no help because I don’t speak the language so I couldn’t find the product and he didn’t bother actually showing me anything

Finally in Westchester, before we used to go in Queens to buy this kind of stuff. The quality of meat is better than in any other supermarkets. Decent prices and is fully loaded with merchandise, very fun to browse for out of ordinary. Will highly recommended.

They have very nice fish and you can get everything you need to make Korean food. The one in Boston I found is actually closer to where I live in CT, so I go there now. We make a run every time we need to make a fresh batch of kimchi.
I was so happy to find an H-Mart out here on the east coast! Its everything it was supposed to be and more. Large store and food court and good selection of prepared foods. Just wish it was closer to the CIty!

I go there because I live near by. Sudden they have updated cashier system and wouldnt accept Google pay I spoke with the manager and was told it would take months to get back Google pay, really? Is that a rocket science!Prices are on the higher end also

HMart is more than an Asian supermarket. They have a bakery and food court too. The best part is that the prices are reasonable and the food is freshly prepared. You can choose from Chinese, Korean or Japanese cuisine. There is also a bubble tea shop, my favorite although they are a bit pricey ($5.95 for one). You can order almost any flavor that you might imagine and itll be tasty.The store itself is well labeled which makes finding ingredients rather easy. I had never seen such a variety of rice and seaweed before in one store as well as a couple types of sushi fish.My one disappointment was that I could not order a smaller portion of the cut sushi fish.Overall, I look forward to shopping there in the near future.

Sold me macadamin nuts which were rancid, I only tasted a few pieces before coming back to return them. They refused to give me a refund. The manager didnt even bother tasting, smelling or even looking at the nuts in the bag. Horrible service and treatment of customers
Best H Mart Ive been to! Its very clean, not as packed in as others Ive been to. The best part is their food court! They have Korean, Japanese, and Korean dishes. I had the Bulgogi Bibimbap.. it was about $12 and was really delicious! It was definitely authentic. My husband had Beef Lo Mein from the Chinese menu. It was pretty good as well. Theres also a bakery that sells bubble tea. Their Filipino aisle was very small though. Like two short sections of shelves only plus some freezer sections. In any case, even though its about an hour away from us, were willing to make the trip.

Whenever I’m craving a decently priced, large portioned, authentic tasting reminder of home, Hmart is my one-stop shop for groceries and dinner. Hmart carries most Asian goods, including sauces, rice and noodles, frozen goodies, fantastically priced produce, and fresh seafood. They also have a good selection of take-away dishes, like kimbap, acorn cake, and banchan, as well as kimchi, fish balls, and radish (your mileage may vary with these depending on what you were used to tasting growing up). The food court is very popular with the locals and is often very crowded on the weekends. You can get Japanese, Chinese, and Korean dishes- I have not found one which is bad yet. The Tous les Jours bakery also sometimes has good deals on their items late in the day. Skip the boba here unless you are really desperate.
Terrible customer relations. Obnoxious, rude, condescending attitude towards customers when returning items that have spoiled before expiration date. Forget about getting YOUR bottle deposit back at the recycling bin, always broken or just closed during operating hours. The nerve of these people working there is beyond comprehension. Was asked if i purchased the bottles I was returning there! Which I did. Overall treated poorly and the prices there are not competitive at all.

I once bought fried rice and teriyaki chicken which smelled disgusting after reheating so I threw them away. I would rather go to trader joe ‘s nearby or drive 30 more minutes down to Flushing or just ask for delivery

Def fell off a little since there opening, but every business does in some fashion... They usually carry my preferred drink/tea of choice, matcha green tea, only place around here that has something semi suitable for when I run out of the ceremonial grade tea I order. For that you get 4 stars..Not to mention the only place i can buy durian fruit..
