This was my second purchase from 61 Marine and I will keep going back. They were able to give me the best trade in price I could find for my ATV, and then helped me order the General new from polaris. This time I worked with Matt and he made the whole experience painless. Their finance rates were excellent and Peter helped me outfit the General with accessories that were at a very fair price. Spoke with salesman several times and got a out the door price on a snowmobile. Drove from WI to arrive to Joe informing us of set up fees and other BS fees. Sales team was horribly insulting and rude. Very shady buisness, probably why they were found guilty of $3.2 Million in Tax Evasion. Would not recommended.

After spending time in Kansas City going to the boat shows and talking with area marinas in MO looking for a pontoon we had pretty much decided to hold off on purchasing a new boat. For some reason I decided to do a web search for marinas in Minnesota. I found 61 Marine and Sports in Hastings MN. Their Web Site was very easy to scroll through and we found a Sylvan Pontoon that we really liked. I decided to call them and Nick Tinucci answered the call. Nick treated me as he had known me for some time. Nick took the time to gather all the information to answer my questions along with detailed pictures of the boat as he knew I was calling from Kansas City. 61 Marine and Sports pricing was thousands less than I could by the same boat in MO even with the delivery charge to get it to KC. We decided to make a trip to look at the boat and it was everything that we were told it was. We purchased the boat and had it delivered to KC. From Nick to Richard in the business office to Dean who brought my boat to KC everything went smoothly with no disappointments or surprises. Nick even sent me pictures right before the boat left so I could see it after all the rigging was complete. We live on a private lake that has Zebra Mussel restrictions and they we able to comply with all of them with no issues. I would not hesitate to recommend 61 Marine and Sports as our experience went well. Nick, Richard and Dean, Thanks for working with us!

If we can manage to get this all worked out, and Im confident we will, I ill update this review accordingly.ORIGINAL REVIEW (7/20/2020 - 2 stars)I will start with the positives:Good selection, competitive prices, and friendly staffSales experience was enjoyable and Richard in finance was greatAll of the issues weve had have eventually been addressedGeneral issues:- New pontoon was delivered without a playpen cover- Motor registered too late to get promotional 5 year Yamaha warranty- Tachometer wasnt calibrated properly- Set screw for anchor light was missing- One foot for boarding ladder was missing- Pontoon has been at dealer longer than its been in the water in 2020- Our Yamaha VF115 (new in 2019) is a lemonYamaha motor issues:#1 - Water intrusion in lower unit (bad shift seal/housing) Oct 2019#2 - Motor usually kills when shifting in reverse (bad wiring) May 2020#3 - Motor wont tilt/trim in reverse (bad wiring) May 2020#4 - Lower unit oil leak (bad prop seals) June 2020#5 - Motor exhausting from lower unit housing (pending repair) July 2020#6 - Water spurting out of shift shaft housing (pending repair) July 2020I have a call scheduled with Al the owner to discuss our defective motor. This store is not safe for families during covid. The owner refuses to wear a mask and people have been sick. When will employers who dont protect people be held accountable for getting others sick?

Awesome staff I worked with Eric who was very responsive and got me quotes I asked for. I was looking at a few dealers with a specific pontoon in mind. Eric closed the deal but let me know it would be his day off when I picked up the boat. Thats where Joe took over, very helpful went over all the features of the pontoon with me. I found a boat online that I was interested in, and Pete got back to me right away. I went in later that week to look at it, and he showed me the boat I liked, but then once he knew what I was looking for, he showed me another one that had all the features I wanted, but was close to $8k less than the one I came in for! Very good overall experience. Fair price and purchasing process. Delivered the pontoon to our lake as planned and excellent service once our brand new motor would not start again on the first day. Tom was great to deal with and he sent a tech to our dock two days later and resolved the fuel system issue within two hours.

Russell had me in and out in under 20 mins troubleshooted a trolling motor. Gave me some education as well which is always a plus. Thanks Again

I found a boat that they had posted for sale on Craigslist used 2003 stingray 200LSWhen I showed up to look at the boat ($8900) They had very little answers to give me about questions I had.I assumed the boat was in decent condition, seeing as the manager said it was a one owner friend of his.... I bought the boat.**** the day I got it home and put it in the water it seemed to be taking on quite a bit of water, unknowingly needing (new bellows seals, gimble bearing, mid shift cable link, gear case seal, and some other mercruiser out drive things... well.... ($1800) later it’s now ready for water...They only seemed interested when I pulled out a pocket full of cash.... needless to say just check out what your buying here before you take it home......

Bought a new pontoon from them. Easy transaction, fair prices, easy financing if that is what you want too. They are a volume dealer with some lines, so price shop around, but I could not find a better price because they buy so many they have better prices than other dealers.

I would highly recommend working with Matt over at 61 Marine and Sports. I was trading in an old boat for a new demo model Starcraft StarStep and the level of service and support that they provided was unmatched. They continually went over and above to make sure that everything was as promised and they completely delivered. I will not hesitate to use them again when I need to buy another boat. I purchased a brand new 2018 boat and trailer from 61 Marine and it was the worst buying experience Ive encountered. My salesman was a lying, arrogant person to start things off. My boat and trailer showed up without the engine because he didnt order it but blamed Yamaha instead. Said they didnt have the engine ready even though it was built and ready 8 months before I received my boat. The trailer was brand new but it was a 2017 (by VIN) model, not the 2018 that I purchased!I tell everyone, to not come to this place.

I traveled 5 1/2 hours to buy my new Ranger from Matt and Al. Could not be more pleased. Service was spot on and the facility is clean and well organized. Al loaded it and helped tie it down. This is the place folks.

This is a shady business, as they committed tax fraud that the state has calculated to be around 3.2 million dollars. One of the co-owners of this business recently pled guilty to charges related to the tax fraud and hell be sentenced in December.There are several online articles that explain what they did.

I recently worked with Matt Stewart on purchasing a new boat, he was not only knowledgeable but very friendly. I felt like more of a friend then just a random person buying a boat. Not only was the price right but Matt made sure I was taken care of in the accessories department as well. From start to finish I had a really great experience.

I recently purchased my second used boat from 61 Marine and I couldnt be happier. They correctly pointed out every evident flaw the boat had and quickly resolved an out of state registration issue with the trailer. I live in the area and have used them for snowmobile parts and accessories also. The staff is friendly and always greets me by name. Al the owner is easy to communicate with and they always seem to be involved with events and benefits in the community. Just how I expect a local family owned business to be. Good job 61 Marine!!

Watch out for bait and switch advertising on craigslist, they like to advertise great prices on models they have recently sold in an attempt to get people to visit in hopes they can steer you to an in-stock model. Dont fall for it.*Just look at the response from the owner...all you need to know. Changing to a one star. You know you guys do it. As quick as they sell you should be just as quick taking the ads down if you want to be a responsible lot. But you dont do that since those ads are to just drive foot traffic.

Terrible sales department. My wife and I went in to look at a used pontoon, which had a sold tag on it. I inquired when it had sold and if the deal was finalized or if it had fallen through since it was still listed online. He told me he would sell it because even though they were holding it, the guy seemed like a flake. Wow - good service - would hate to be the one they are holding it for. I stated ok we will go out and look at it. As soon as we turned around he stated to two customers, I dont know why anyone would ever buy a used pontoon thats just stupid. We were still standing right next to him. Well sir, I am sorry we wasted your time and that we cant all afford brand new boats. If your dealership thinks used boats are a stupid investment, perhaps you should not sell them. Taking our business across the street to Erickson. May pay more, but at least we wont have to deal with them.

I talked with sales about a few snowmobile questions that I had. They were knowledgeable and didnt mix in their personal bias about brands or aftermarket upgrades. Great store.

Just bought a new atv. buying process was super easy. the service manager went through the atv with me and explained maintenance that should be done and how to make adjustments to shocks. pete and matt were easy to deal with and anwsered all my questions.

I did not enjoy doing business with our sales person Eric. We paid IN FULL for a wheeler and didnt even get a sincere thank you. He was not all that friendly and in my opinion, not a great sales person. Seemed unprofessional and kind of arrogant. Very displeased.

Just bought a Sylvan Pontoon from Joe who is the absolute worst sales person. We paid for a full tank of gas in advance and it was delivered on an empty tank, wrong trolling motor installed initially but my husband caught that mistake, now wrong locator put on and scuffs on front of new boat. Had to call numerous times to check on the status of things. Absolutely ridiculous when you are spending a decent amount of money on something it should be done right. Now we have to spend more time messing around figuring out how to get it all fixed.

I brought my snowmobile up there today to have a code checked and cleared. They got me in and out pretty quick considering they were so busy. I would recommend this place to others for sure!

Terrible service department...Took my speed boat in to get fixed last fall they said a week to 10 days and it was their for a month before they even looked it. They did a water pump, put lower until back in, changed oil and winterized it...Started it this summer 2015 and the water pump leaked because the gasket was crimped..Also noticed they never changed the oil filter when they did the oil change...Got water pump fixed and after running it once on the lake there was water in the oil now we are taking it someplace else to have it checked out because were afraid to bring it back to 61 marine....From the shabby work I have seen Im not going to be shocked if Im told it wasnt winterized properly...Wouldt recommend this place to anyone!

These guys sell a bunch of boats at great prices and are first rate when it comes to setting them up. Several of my friends have also purchased boats from them and recommended them to me.

Apparently i should be sorry for giving this place my business. At least it felt that way... Calling over the phone to the parts department went ok (at best) and then showed up to get my part 45 minutes later (apparently the parts department closes at 1pm on saturdays, was not informed) and was met by some rude guy telling me i cant get my parts... my part was tagged with my name and sitting right on the parts counter but it was still like pulling teeth to give this dealership my money.

Had my boat for 1 month on Warranty work on Mercury Verado. No call back to update. I have to call to keep on them. Still waiting. They do return calls but it would be nice to know what or why it is taking so long. No follow up unless you call them.

Poor customer service. I called purchase a brand new side by side. Salesman did not listen well as I mentioned it twice and he quoted me on something else. Then he blames me for not clarifying what I wanted and said they dont have any clearance. I told him Im not looking for clearance or deals, Im looking for new. He hangs up. Absolutely Rude!

They said bring it in anytime and swap it out.Sales Manager Joe Swanda did apologize and has treated us with a professional, polite and kind attitude when we call or visit the store.Richard the finance person is one of the kindest people and shows good effort. He answered all my questions I had come up since the sale. He returns your calls in a timely fashion.So far Im happy with how things are being handled.
