I absolutely loved this ice cream shop and everything about it. They are very generous with the size of the scoops that they give you. I love the schoolhouse theme and I absolutely love that they give you an extra credit scoop on top of what you ordered. (An extra credit scoop is a tiny sample of another flavor of ice cream of your choosing). On top of all of this, the ice cream was delicious! 10/10!! I will definitely be going back.

This school is cool.This local gem is a must stop when we are in Hastings. With 32 flavors available at a single time, they have wide selection of ice cream flavors available that rotate in availability. We have always found the staff to be courteous and friendly during our visits.Please keep in mind that they do have a seasonal schedule where they are closed during the winter months.At the time of this posting during the pandemic, the flavor options are posted on the front windows and there is limited seating inside with several tables and chairs outside that are cleaned frequently.

Ice cream was stale, freeze-burned crystallized and recycled. Zero taste. A few bites and threw it away. Sorry for the negative feedback guys. Make some simple changes and youll be fine. Ill be back.Update: not sure how to reply to a reply but it was a couple weeks ago and it was vanilla Chocolate Chip. Hope that helps! Great access to store and outside dining available. Very large selection of ice cream flavors. Close to Vermillion Falls Park. They have public restrooms available. In a newer shopping strip area that also has a Caribou Coffee and Green Mill Pizza within walking distance. No issues parking.

Stopped at the hasting location Great ice cream but was surprised at the server attire. Wasn’t sure if she had shorts on or if she was wearing just underwear. I felt with a family environment she should have more coverage on her lower half. Was disappointed about that!!!

Definitely worth the price (which isnt that high anyway) and delicious. Raspberry sorbet was flavorful and smooth. Friendly staff and a good selection of flavors!

Ice cream was great i walked to the place from a little ways away and i have asthma and i was out of breath and i couldnt breath very well and i was trying to talk and the girl that was scooping my ice cream was laphing at me because i wasnt able to breathe and i feel very humiliated she was wearing a green shirt with blond hair and white shorts and white shoes with green sox

This place is such a treat, I mean literally. This was my first time visiting and I will definitely return especially when I need to satisfy my sweet tooth. We ordered the Butter brickle, and they gave a small surprise scoop brownie smores. And I had the rainbow sherbet with the dragon fruit and it was wonderful. This was quite an amazing set up, I am so glad I was able to indulge in this. Thank you schoolhouse scoop for making my birthday perfect, my girlfriend loved hers as well.

Best ice cream in town, I pick this over DQ every time. I love taking my son here, they change up their flavors and offer at a reasonable price. They have candy, popcorn and shakes too. 😋 my favorite is the zanzibar oh and you get an extra credit - its a small bit of any flavor with your cone or dish!

I absolutely love the ice cream here! Tastes wonderful - high quality - great variety of flavors. I look for opportunities to drive through Hastings just so I can have an excuse to stop in. Ive been to a number of the ice cream places in the Twin Cities and I havent been as impressed with any of them as I have been with each visit to Schoolhouse Scoop. Well worth the drive from wherever you are!

Service was great, ice cream was even better.

Service was great, both my husband and I had cones. Rum Cherry had 1cherry piece and my Butter Brickle had only 3 pieces of Brickle in it. Disappointed.

The ice cream was the only thing really good about this place..they had two people behind the counter but only one person actually trying to scoop the other person didnt do anything...There was us and a few other people in line..

I wanted to like this place more than I did. It’s super cute and the staff were very kind. I had three different flavors and even my favorite was just ok. I love local ice cream shops so I’ll definitely return. I hope to find a few flavors I enjoy!

Moose Tracks cone had an excellent ratio of toppings and first rate ice cream. Their Extra Credit system is genius - allows you to try flavors you may not have thought youd love!

The Schoolhouse Scoop sells high quality ice-cream by Kemps and Cedar Crest. Our group of four selected several flavors and all were excellent. I tried Lake Superior Shores, a combo of berries and chocolate in vanilla ice-cream. Every order gets extra credit, which consists of a small scoop of another flavor of your choice. I chose pistachio and it was delicious. Other outstanding flavors are coconut and caramel. The store is roomy and kid friendly with bold colors on the walls. Will go back for more ice cream on our next excursion to Hastings.

This place has awesome ice cream and a ton of flavors that are always changing! The staff was super friendly and patient. They gave us samples and didn’t treat us like a burden for asking. The scoops are HUGE! Overall really like this place!

Very good ice cream, service was slow moving, and there was a table of employees and their friends letting customers wait or Id rate 5 stars.Lobby was spacious but the first table walking in had an open bandaid on the table. Ice cream was amazing though, so worth stopping by if your in town.

Pretty darn good ice cream. Full disclosure: Im lactose-intolerant, so I get the sorbet which I believe isnt house-made. That said, my ice-cream-loving but highly-discerning wife thinks highly of this place. We stop whenever were in Hastings. They have lots of fun flavors and they give you a mini bonus scoop (called extra credit) on top of your regular scoop. If you want happiness in ice-cream form, Schoolhouse Scoop is the place for you in Hastings.

Recently stopped in with the family and had a good time. Relaxed environment and a good selection of ice cream on a cone or in a cup. Decent prices as well as the five of us cost around $20.

Good selection of icecream. Portions are smaller than Nelsons in Stillwater. Shop is schoolhouse themed and has the small town feel. Servers were nice and had smiles for us.

Schoolhouse Scoop is a creative ice cream shop. Located near the Green Mill it offers inside and outside seating. A boastful 24+ flavors, popcorn, malts, sundaes, and shakes are all on the menu as well as bottled water and soda. There are tee shirts available for those collectors as well. There are quite a few different challenges to try and dont forget to order something fun for your extra credit.
