I love this place but I think theres an opportunity to staff alittle better around load days, especially on the weekends when its the busiest. Ease of check out is crucial.

Everything Is Nice And You Can Find Fresh Fruit & Vegetables At Decent Prices, But Ive Found A Couple Things (Once I Got Home) That Were Really Close To The Sell By Date So We Had To Finish It Sooner Than We Thought We Would Have To Or Sometimes It Wont Be Fully Stocked And/Or Hard To Find And I Dont Know Why...

The workers are helpful even on small stuff.They keep areas clean. Important 🙏😊They care about customers 😊

EArly eve before Thanksgiving all seemed stocked, fresh and surprisingly not a chaotic hot mess. There was a line with enough cashiers, only seen one person on sales floor to help with certain items we needed. Was able to pick up dinner and items for tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving

Really love this store. The prices are so much better than a Safeway or Luckys with a great selection. I sometimes have to head to the other stores for specialty stuff, but I save at least $50 per trip over the regular grocery stores.Costco is great but I find the packages sizes to be too big often times.Love Smart & Final!

Couldnt find liquid foam soap refill but I found groceries I need instead n left happy as I didnt need to stop elsewhere.

Shopping during the pandemic. They dont have everything (wanted strawberries), but they do have flour, and checkout is well organized. Line looks long but moves fast.

I visit this store for long time and never got a problems but today the cashier dont let me pay for beer because i forgot my California license and i show hem my Georgia id and he say its not valid id

The staff here are very friendly and I appreciate what they are doing to feed the community. Some of the nicest people --- and even under all this stress. Thank you!

Lines are too long. No self checkout or even 10 items or less line. By no fault of the staff, seems short. Management should hire more people or increase wage if they are struggling to hire. Prices are a little high but they are in a convenient location for me. Other than that, the place is clean and organized.

For starters lots of parking 👍🏾. The shopping was very good, dynamite customer service. I had never shopped at this location and needed some navigation help(aka: where is this or that?) The staff was very helful and patient. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I am very pleased with lower prices of quality products. The staff are helpful with directions taking me to find a particular product. The grocery clerks are fast & very accurate, polite, bag items correctly, & place them in my cart. Because of all I have written, that is the reason I shop weekly at Smart & Final.

Very nice Smart & Final location conveniently close to other stores (Home Depot etc) with plenty mostly food items. You can find a lot of stuff in bigger packaging and a lower price per ounce/pound. Sometimes the wait at the cashier is extremely long while the associates eat candy in front of the customers and spend time chatting about instead of hustling :(

The produce department seems to outshine the rest of the storein terms of being fully stocked and with items that are our favorites. The meats are a little high priced, overall its a pretty good store.

Smart & Final is a great bargain chain. This location needs some TLC. The Union City location is better in cleanliness & stock. The staff is friendly & helpful, so make their workplace pleasant. Merchandise quality & quantity is important & would increase satisfied shoppers. Only if Im in the area would I return.

Its a nice store, but the wait in line is very long. They usually only have 2 registers open even though the line is huge. And no express line either. That is why I stopped shopping here. Please open more registers so I can finish shopping in a reasonable amount of time, especially if I only need to pick up a few things.

Great place for fresh vegetables and kitchen items. In my opinion, its sortve a small market for quick items but it has all kinds of goodies and, not the mention, great deals. The staff are decent. The only complaint I have is that sometimes its not fully stocked. I recommend people shopping during the morning or early afternoon. The last time I visited here at night, they only had damaged cabbages. Previously, they did not stock in particular spices. Overall, its a very good market.

Aisles narrow n crowded but good variety of foods. Prices on the high side.

The staff is always chill here and they stock things well. I love the giant loafs of bread they have, they also have many sugar free and sugar alternative options at this location which I appreciate as a person in a diabetes prone family.

I found all that I needed. I enjoyed my experience there very clean and great customer service.

Smart & final definitely has the prices you sometimes have to buy bulk but it last longer and its worth it. The only reason I dont give it A5 is because the one in Hayward that I go to is so cold oh my God its like walking into a walk-in freezer but if you remember to bring your coat and some gloves which I almost never do youre going to like it

Clerks did not have much knowledge.

Only rating one star because of the racist man who rang me up didn’t charge me for no bags when I clearly needed them and got mad when I told him I would pay him cash for the bags. Another woman working there also had an attitude when I asked her a simple question. That’s two racist people working at this location.

Great staff but tha lines were long

Basic grocery store but it is supposed to be a wearhouse alternative type store. They do sell bulk items and some low level restaurant supplies. No need for a membership card. They got rid of it. Somewhat of a small parking lot. The last three times Ive been there someone was running out of the door with products to a waiting get away car. In that case just stand back out of the way. On the positive side they sell a lot of good products. One time I purchased several baby back pork rib slabs between $6 - $10 and each was very meaty.

This is place shop but not cheap.

This store is great. The people that work there are friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable, and most items I need are in stock, and even when something on sale is out of stock they make sure the customer has a raincheck. Service is the best. Also, there location is ideal for me to do a number of other erands with nearby stores. A definite win-win.

Saw the ad, $9.99 12 pack of Heineken if you spend $25. Okay, $4.99 Ribeye & dozen eggs $.99. Perfect, I’ll spend $25 on steak & eggs & get the beer. I get there & no Ribeye & the few eggs they had left we’re all broken. I thought Safeway was the best at bait $ switch but Stupid & final is worse. Thank You for wasting My time.

I dont have same negative experience as some have posted. Produce is great and it seems they try for local or at least CA sources. I am wary of produce from other countries. Quality and *price* so much better than Safeway or Lucky. Lower prices on name brand meat and other items too. I dont find anything about S&F that I dont like. Nothing beats friendliness of Walmart employees but S&F are OK. Sometimes you do have to work to get their attention.

Aisles too narrow and just 3 cashiers working...thats a great business model for success

This store is big, clean and the prices cannot be beat. I was amazed at their selection and how well they were stocked. The staff was friendly and enthusiastic.

SUPER-CLEAN bathroom (the womens, anyway -- IDK about the mens...), even had a baby-changing station so I could set my stuff down; not one spot on the mirror; they had everything I went for, but the line was slightly longer than ideal (it wouldve been perfect with just one more teller on a register).[Edited 10 hours later upon nightmare return visit]:Just got threatened to have the COPS Called On Me by JANET when I initially refused to leave -- because Id just purchased more dry ice and chose to put it away in my trunk first so it wouldnt evaporate (I was in the very front, handicapped parking space) before using the restroom and going BACK to work driving for ANOTHER 6-7 hours...and Janet decided since I had now exited the store, or because it was officially exactly 10 PM, or whatEVER her power trip is about, she decided I couldnt possibly be allowed to use the restroom again...I actually got down on my hands and knees to DRY the water spots Id left on their bathroom floor earlier from washing my hands at the sink, and now Im being treated like total garbage -- Literally, being treated like a freaking CRIMINAL for wanting to use the restroom at a facility I made a purchase at, that is supposed to provide restrooms to people who purchase from them...you need some serious anger & stress management, Janet, if your first reaction to a displeased, handicapped customer is to *call the cops* on them!!! How many hundreds of dollars MORE do I have to spend at Smart & Finals all around the Bay Area to be treated like a human being??

I can always find whatever I need. Prices are good ... But a Big negative is that the employees are not very friendly. They dont seem welcoming ... I dont get a thank you for coming ... The male employees especially do not smile ... The people stocking the shelves seem uptight ... A reflection on the management team of this S&F store ... I go to Union City too ...
