A very cool store and exactly the kind of place where I want to go to buy hardware. Went in, quickly found what I needed because the store isnt gigantic, turned around and paid and left. It was all I needed and it went perfectly. Im sure Ill be back to make more complicated purchases in the future but for what I needed it was smooth sailing.

This has been my convenient local friendly hardware store for 20 years. Knowledgeable staff. Great selection.

The service here is amazing! Everyone was incredibly friendly and they had exactly what I was looking for. I will happily be going back. They are also conveniently located close to other shopping.

They have a lot of products on the shelves. The toughest thing to do is find what you want quickly. But their staff is available, helpful, & very knowledgeable.

Customer service pretty much sucks. I had to greet the tall blonde at the register before she acknowledged my presence. Her attitude basically sucked. All the other employees are blase as well.

I was about to give up. I had a metal toilet paper holder that was missing a tiny but integral screw and I had already tried Lowes, Home Depot, and another hardware store. I had spent hours in the aisles of these stores looking for this screw but couldnt find it. I decided to give it one last try at Hayward Hardware.I walked in and a cheerful voice greeted me, hi, how can I help you today? I explained the situation to Sara, who listened attentively and then promptly said, I have just the thing for that! I followed Sara to the aisle of a billion different screws, nuts, bolts, etc. and she expertly identified and pulled out a box, tried a few different screws, proceeded to another box of screws and found one that seemed to work. She patiently helped me fit the screw and test the toilet paper holder arm to ensure the screw would do the trick and it did. After she made sure I was satisfied, she proceeded to ring me up. She had spent 5-6 min with me even though the total purchase was only $0.74. Im so grateful for her help.Thanks a bunch, Sara! I also sent my sister her way.

I called to be put on hold for 10 minutes for them to get back on and say the screen I purchased 4 days ago hasnt even been started yet. I complained, they made it in less than 10 minutes. After I went to pick up my late screen already paid for I told the guy that I also purchased a set of keys and one didnt work. He closed the door and said sorry were closed come back tomorrow for a key.Hopefully they arent this bad with all the customers.

Quick stop to use on the way to work, sorry that they are no longer with Ace Hardware, but still very reliable.

Great local hardware store. They definitely went above and beyond to help me find a solution to a rather unusual caster wheel mounting problem. The person helping me had a surprisingly detailed knowledge of what they stock.

Very nice Ace hardware store. Employees are determined to help you find what you want, check prices for you, propose other solutions if they dont have the solution youre looking for. In other words, they have good customer service.Pretty good selection, prices are competitive with a box store, in some cases beating them, which surprised me. Overall I would come back here to shop.

Wonderful place for hardware - this is my absolute reference for when I need bolts, nuts, washers, etc. I love fabrication, welding etc. I do not even consider big box stores that offer a frustrating experience when it comes down to fasteners. Stainless steel, metric, hardened, odd sizes, you name it, they most likely have it. Associates are very helpful and willing to guide you and help you out as they are actually capable of understanding. Very nice. The only problem is that they close very early, it would be good if they stayed open until at least 9PM.

Its pretty much hit and miss when you go in there to look for something you need. It might be wise call ahead before you go in.

Amazing store with an all star crew of employees. Visit Heyward Hardware it is highly recommended for all of your hard work and outdoor needs! If they dont have what you were looking for in stock....Im sure they can order it for you like they did for me!

Been here 3-4 times over the past 3 years. Unfortunately never left satisfied. This last time I was informed that only purchases at this Ace Hardware was accepted for returns or exchanges. So they operate independently it seems of other Ace hardware stores in that respect.Im better off going to Lowes or Home Depot all the other times I have walked in. Its a shame since I want to support the smaller shops.

The only positive about this business is the staff. However the negatives far outlay the positives:1) Prices are mostly 2 to 3 times what you would pay at most other stores.2) The worst thing about this business is the Owner who is crude uses profanities, and is threatening, and if you dare to question anything about his prices he may become unhinges and even threaten you if you come within 50 feet of his store.

Didnt have exactly what I needed, but I found an item I could re-purpose. The staff seemed reluctant to assist me. (Maybe the Corona virus thing.)

Great store that hires people who actually know hardware. Good selection of just about anything. If you dont need lumber, pass up the box stores and come here.

Everyone was so helpful and friendly! I am a Girl Scout working on a service project and they generously donated some hardware supplies to support my community project! I went in several times and the environment was always so neighborly and kind.

Sad to find out that theyre closing after all this time!

Pretty good... I had a key made here, it did not work. They guy with the glasses fixed it and made it work. I have confidence with the staff at this Hayward ace.

Needs new management. Last couple times I went to Ace Hayward it was closed DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS (430- 5pm) with a note on door said sorry had to close early, not just once! Second time in about month. Really annoying after just drove past Home Depot trying to support my communities local small business’. BIG SIGN ON DOOR OPEN DAILY 8am - 630pm

Staff are kind, friendly and helpful! they always greet you and asked you if you needed help... clean and organized... They helped me with my projects, always!!! Keep up the work people!!!

The man that came in there and just steadily bugged me and hounded me and just can we help you can we help you you got to the point where Im like hey man yeah but just would you chill out and lay off I know youll probably have people that shoplifter whatever but it aint mine I dont mess with it and really I can see right through your arrogance one of you guys let me know man I think he was the guy that runs it back there just plain arrogant anymore but not sure if. Im they were going to go there again

A historic hardware store in downtown Hayward. They have a large selection but the aisles are crowded and small. The staff I talked to was not helpful and did not know their product.

Excellent staff. Park in Luckys lot and walk in. Its a small hardware store. I get keys and light paint and household things there all the time.

I usally have a good experience there. But I have run into some that rather have strange behavior . today was one I was coming in to spend some good cash. And needed help to find things. A young lady there was rude on the inside thou she was trying to act like she wanred to. Her expression were. Saying something else. Sbhe could of got me someone if she could not do it I choose to walk out and take my money somewhere else
