Lines are long. Prices are high. The service is sub par. I went in for some super nachos they were $13.00 soggy and the paper to go box gets soggy by the time you get home. Times have changed. You can cook better meals at home. For a few more dollars you can get NY steaks at Luckys. So I just purchased because I was already there and had placed the order. I dont like places that HIDE prices. I wont be coming back and thats for sure. If you want Mexican food I recommend La Vics or El Taquito if you are in the Hayward area. More BANG for ur buck most definitely. 👍💯

Ordered burritos and they had taco portions of meat and most of it was the sides like “rice, salsa, cream etc” I would rate zero stars if I could but I want to say I definitely recommend other places for you to eat some authentic Mexican food . Also ordered a quesadilla and it came with no sides like guacamole and sour cream, side that . All the prices are expensive and it’s not worth such a high price for such little effort put into making the food . I also purchased a taco with only the meat nothing else . Can you believe it looked like more meat than there was in one of my burritos ??! And $3.99 for a plain taco ?? Never coming here again. Come on chavez. Do better - Jeff

Great service and superior food! Bit of a language barrier but it was fine. Burritos are the best Ive had in Northern California :) Ordered the chicken and seafood fajita burritos and they were par excellent - seasoning was on point and cooked just right. Small dining area but people moved in and out quickly on a Saturday afternoon so it wasnt a problem. Total recommended!

With the COVID-19 security/employees should really enforce the wearing of a mask at all times insde the store. I saw a woman wearing her mask on her chin while waiting on line at the food area talking on the phone and people are forgetting the 6ft apart rule.

Taqueria is way too expensive and very little meat. Instead, I recommend people to go to El Rancho Supermercado in castro valley. The prices in the taqueria are slightly cheaper, BUT twice the amount of meat, and much much better taste...👍👍

Chavez Panaderia. Next door to Chavez Supermarket. Love this place. They have pan dulce, donuts, cake, croissants, ice cream, jugo, licuados, coffee, flan. Muchas cosas.

I like it but its a but expensive. Tamale husks were $7.99 vs Cardenas $5.99 and Foodmaxx $4.99. Menudo was good price $2.99 lb.

I went here two weeks ago. Made line, only to find out that the line was for the money gram office inside the supermarket. The security guard failed to tell me. Waited in line for 10 min, for no damn reason. Also, they are overpriced!!

It has a grocery store, restaurant and a bakery. The Carne asada fries are my favorite. Overall its a great 1 stop shop with mouth watering food.

The place is kinda messy. Not a big selection. I went in to get soda only. Seems the only thing it has going on popular was their hot food stand which I did not get a chance to try. I rate this market as a convenient store. Theres no line at checkout. I could be wrong at my second time in store to grab something quick. More next time...

Fisrt of all, you will not find good deals at a chavez supermarket, but you will find very good authentic salsas, guacamole, cheese, and cremas. Vegetables and fruits are priced reasonably but for all else go somewhere else.

I Dont shop there anymore. Bad service and bad salsas.I just threw THEM away.Must have been a bad day for the person, but I rather go somewhere else. Ill give it a try again, but not anyone soon.

Poor customer service at meat counter. Worker meat counter could not tell me what kind of chicken she was selling me and a male security guy standing a door was yelling at a disabled man while the disabled man was just trying to get flowers.

I like the store cause it has the products I like and the people are real helpful and the cashiers are nice.

This place is my favorite place on the mission. I love the dining area good, the taco plate is delicious and it will fill you up! I also love the burritos. The staff is super friendly and they are generous with their portions. The market area is also great, they have fresh produce and butchered meat. Its a great place for Cal State East Bay staff and faculty.

We went to the taqueria for dinner today. I likes how they had the area marked for social distancing BUT the food was not the best. My daughter said the res rice was not good and did not eat it at all, the red sauce was all tomato it had no heat at all. I ordered al pastor tacos because I saw they had a trompo and instead of the guy cutting the meat from the trompo he gave me precut al pastor....soooo dissapointed. I giving 2 stars because although I did not like my food my daughter order pollo azado tacos and she said they were delicious.

Delicious mexican food!! Love the Betamix drink (carrots, beets, and cucumbers). So refreshing. Regular Chile verse burrito was awesome!! Definitely will return. Currently only Togo orders are available as Dining room is unavailable due to Covid-19.

They are not friendly and the wayed their food to put into the burrito and they dont describe it on their menu. just a bad experience all together will never shop there again

Its nice to have a grocery store that can be walked to. Meat counter in the back is fantastic, so is the tacoria in the front. There is a Western Union up front as well. I have fallen in love with a Mexican hot chocolate mix that Nestle makes that I have only found here. Prices are reasonable to high, but some items can only be found here.

Chavez always has a wide selection of hispanic foods and groceries. The food prepared at the Taqueria is always delicious, Chavez literally is the bar to when it comes to rating other Mexican restaurants. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners during a business deal with my former employer, real nice people I gotta say.

Place is clean, and a good amount of staff. They provide fresh meat and produce, which is a plus since it’s hard to find a good place with fresh food.Although you are definitely paying for it. Very pricey but worth it.Next door they have a bakery/ice cream parlor. The bread and cookies taste amazing! Soft and not over sugared. I wouldn’t get ice cream here though since most of it has huge crusts of ice burn.

The fajitas are really great here. But the vegetables here are so expensive. An avacado for almost 3 dollars each? No thanks.

Some of the workers are not nice Specially at the Bakery area and Mexican bread is very expensive and Dont taste like original Mexican Bread also at the Market they Do have a Dely or Restauran and it is No Phone Recepción inside the Market even the Bakery it is bad cas my wife tried to call our Family if they want Something, She was very Upset cas she had to go outside again to make a Phone call, it is not a good place to Go!!

My favorite is the fish tacos for lunch without onions and their special sauce. I love they give me extra lemons to put on my tacos when I ask!

This market is one of the larger ethnic markets in the Tennyson Rd area. With a focus towards Hispanic/Latin cuisine & culture, they do a great job with variety and produce freshness. Their meat dept is basic, and usually maintain fresh meats. They do however run out of popular selections on occasions. The one area lacking would be their quality of Tripe. This is important as it is the foundation to making the best Menudo, as I like to do on a regular basis. The Honeycomb tripe should be at the very highest level of quality. Overall, this market does a good job with merchandising and cleanliness. Continue striving to improve with the overall customer experience. Gracias....
