I would like to recommend this restaurant for everyone especially LAMB π loversI went back again today Aug27/21 noon π 2:30pm got bad experience with front desk employee he doesnβt know how to talk to the customers 0 % of communication skills This guy more preference for particular race thatβs really stupidest ever. Please avoid the specific Latino guyMost of the Latino people are hard worker I will respect them always but this one rudest person. My humble advice to the owner of this restaurant please donβt put any 0 knowledge of customer service experience guys. That guy spoiled your business.
What can I sayβ¦this food is delicious π€€. My husband and I love in Hayward and were getting tired of eating the same old food all the time. A girlfriend suggested Mediterranean and I immediately thought of Ghazni down the street from us and thought - why not?!I ordered family style -lamb shank, beans and rice, spinach, butternut squash and pita with leeks! OMGβsh I canβt even begin to describe how packed with flavor each dish was.The lamb fell right off the bone, the beans were seasoned to perfection, the spinach was fresh and creamy - and the butternut squash ugh π© incredible! If you havenβt already tried them out, please do! They get busy so be sure to order ahead or be prepared for a temp wait well worth it.
The meat is always perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful. I love their salad with creamy dressing as well. Im stuffed and satisfied after every visit. We have also ordered catering. They made it easy and quick.
Great Afghan restaurant in Hayward. I have been there twice, first time I had lamb kabob and the second time I had pilaf.Online ordering is super easy. They have awesome staff members and food are always fresh.Highly recommend!
Ordered Chicken and beef tip kebabs which were excellent and tender; salad was tasty as well as the bread! Will order from them again!
I would have given 5 stars but as a neophytes to this ethnic food, we had no idea what was what. So we ended up eating someones dinner thinking it was the appetizer because the waiter identified it as such which was a language problem. But the food is excellent and have had their takeout in the last couple of days.
Honestly one the best place to eat in the the SFO area. I love this place! The food is great plus the presentation is amazing. The staff is the best pet theyβre so nice and make you feel at home.
Food was decent (though chicken was too dry for my taste, same for lamb). Really what made this two stars review not more was the service. βLackingβ would b the most kind word I can muster! entrees came before appetizers!? Took forever to get extra fork/knife/water glasses, etc. maybe take out would b better but done in I canβt recommend.
Great first experience, planning to return.Quabili Pallaw featured a tender, bone-in generous portion of lamb under a mountain of moist, flavorful rice cooked with raisins and carrot slivers. Seriously, the to-go box weighed at least two pounds.Several flavors of lassi available, including mango.Easy access with parking in the adjacent bank parking lot (after hours).
Great Great Great food :) visited from NY and am really thankful I was told to check it out here. Owners were sweet and kabob was amazing. I grew up on Afghan food and this place truly impressed. Recommend the mantu for sure!
This restaurant sounded promising, but I was disappointed drove all the way there out of my way. The mixed kabobs platter was blant, although the pulao rice was good. I love Afghani food food and know my way around it, but this was below par. The Mantu was ok a bit on the soggy side. The bread included wasnβt fresh. They have tea, but itβs hot water and you grab yourself a tea bag, was expecting the Afghani cardamom tea. Prices are reasonable. Owner/customer service was good, they were friendly and nice.
The food is really good. We had five different dishes and all were good. The service could be improved.
Iβm sorry for the negative review, I figured the rest are paid to put a positive review. Truth be told, this was a joke restaurant for jokers. We sat first yet 3 other tables after us were served before us, same dish ordered. The servers werenβt sure who had what. They would go to each table with the platter asking who had ordered what. Food over cooked and burned. Rice hard and not cooked right. Shornakhod was literally an opened can of garbanzo beans tossed in vinegar. Hard and raw. Itβs sad,..
Excellent food. Havent had much other than kabobs but they are always delicious.
Excellent food. Fariba was so wonderful and took great care of us. Highly recommend ππ»βΊοΈ
Good food. Service is slow. Chapli kabob and bulani is good.
The food here is great, Im just sad I didnt try it until I was moving away. Id go back in a heartbeat though! The both the chicken and beef are seasoned and cooked really well. Also the dumpling like dish with the chickpeas I think it was...really yummy!
Eggplant appetizer was pleasing to eye and palate - perfectly cooked eggplant well balanced with the avid of the tomatoes and creaminess of yogurt sauce. Pita was house made and good enough to eat plain. Kabobs (chicken and ground Beef) were moist and full of flavor - the rice and salad complimented the meats. Service was not very helpful or attentive but the food is worth the visit.
This place is okay, we came here due to Yelp reviews but it just didnt do it for me. First of all, theres no restaurant parking. Second the food was not as tasty as other Middle Eastern foods weve tasted. A little pricey too. Didnt take any photos because it was just okay food.
Great Afghani food in of all places Hayward. Everything is terrific here, family run place, but no wine or beer BYOB if you want to have a drink with dinner. Definitely a wonderful place to eat!
We couldnβt find any halal open restaurants over there in the month of Ramadan and most of them were closed. This was a bit far from the place that we were. However I donβt even regret going there from very far. The food was so delicious and the service was also perfect. Keep up the good workβΊοΈ
So this is for Aug 2020 during the covid pandemic.Outside seating 3 stars. It was good. Not the cleanest. They need to pay attention to the tables AFTER the guest leaves.Service is 5 stars. They pay great attention to you.Food is very very good. I will return. Some option for vegans but the for carnivores it is the best. All food arrives in Togo containers and you must UNPACK your food and consume it. No big deal.
Ok food. Pathetic service. The two kids running the show there were too busy hanging out with their buddies and giving them free food and chilling with them instead of focusing on the paying customers. They were out of stock for a few basic items on their menu, which is weird. Asked for plates and then had to go chase them for the plates and they did not have clean plates available. Had to go get sauces as they again forgot to serve it Even when we asked for it multiple times. Not care for hygiene. They were shaking hands and fist bumping their friends and then using the same dirty hands to serve food. Not acceptable especially in the time of COVID-19. We wonβt be back. Had come with very high expectations after reading all the reviews.
Terrible experience. This place is a sorry excuse for a restaurant. The food was terrible, almost inedible. To top it all off, the owner tried to suggest we were from a βthird world countryβ when we told him we were visiting from New Mexico. Stay away from this place.
Great food at great prices. Make sure you check your bag before you leave though, as they sometimes mix up orders
This is th before Covid if my daughter was ordering food from here I was more than glad to get something also but since Covid I feel that their food has declined drastically tonight I had their eggplant di all I ate was burnt eggplant with very little yogurt the rice is hard and chewy and I would recommend that if youβre going to get the food go in and donβt have door Dash deliver it you need to go in yourself so you can check out your items and taste it because if itβs not up to your standards then youβre able to give it right back but they donβt have to worry about me wanting anything else from this place because their food is not good
Love this place, even though its just been takeout for me since last year. Consistently great.
Great vegetarian options. Very flavorful.
Very unexpected, but the food served for lunch was excellent. We had the eggplant appetizer, and some meat dumplings to start. Sorry I can not do the Afghan names for the dishes. Then on to skewers of lamb and ground beef. two different dishes. Very flavorful. Highly recommend.
This restaurant overcharging you. The prices display online is not accurate.they even didnt give u receipt to avoid the taxes. I ordered one chapali kabob and one beef tika they charge me 37$ but the prices online is 12.95 and 13.95.also the owner is very rude and also they didnt care about food hygiene when I open the box the little sauces containers merging into the food.
Wow now they have a lunch special, yet same great flavor. If you have not tried there food, you need to swing by and pick up a some lunch togo. I stop in last week picked up lamb Kabobs for lunch. Boy that hit the spot, and filled me up. I my self hate bland food that so many place now seem to server, here you get a mouth full of flavor! Definitely a place i keep coming back too, hope you will too.
I love the mantu. The staff are very friendly. They allowed my support animal.
The food here was very good. We ordered two combo kabob plates and one chicken plate. Everyone enjoyed their food. I was glad the chicken wasnt as charred as I saw in pics lol The chicken was cooked perfectly, not dry and cooked all the way through. My favorite was the beef kabob.
Food was good, I wouldnβt say it was great. Seasoning was great but beef kebabs were overcooked and so was the ground beef patties. Not bad but not great. Servers were nervous, trying to be nice but not as profesional. A bunch of kitchen rubber mats all over the sidewalk next to restaurant, not sure how they get away with that. Would I go back? Maybe. Just not impressed...
Excellent bbq items! Great food overall
Pretty good. Simple food. Similar to what one might eat at home so thatβs nice. Not a big deal because I doubt anyone goes for the bread but the bread was a bit stale. I would return.
To be honest, the food and service was one of the worst. The owner was rude and combative. Will never go back.Thank you
Amazing afghan food! My fiance and I usually get afghan food in Fremont but ever since we found about this place its so much more convenient for us. All their Kababs are bbqd to perfection. I highly recommenced it!
I just love their food.
Really great food .. Highly recommended
My husband said that the lamb chops were the best he ever ate. Will order again from here especially because I saw some delicious vegan options as well.
The food was so tasty and delicious! Definitely going back, and the service was excellent : )
Authentic, I guess... not a connoisseur. The food was good and service was prompt and pleasant. My waiter couldnt tell me for sure whether certain beverages were available or not. The menu is very limited -- mostly kabobs and a pair of eggplant items. They could not accommodate my food allergy, so I cant recommend it if you have them.
Just had an early dinner at this place with my boyfriend - I wanted my boyfriend to try Afghanistan food bc it was his first time and there were many great reviews about this place. But we were quite disappointed. Service was very slow... we waited about 20-30 mins for water and over an hour for our food. However, the waiter kept apologizing and tried to accommodate us, which we appreciate. We ordered mantu, lamb chops, and lentil curry. The mantu and lentil curry was on point. The lamb chops were a big disappointment - the meat was charred and overcooked that it was difficult to eat (as seen in the picture with the napkin, that was from eating two lamb chops alone!). I also order chai tea but never got it. This was prob one of my worst experiences at an Afghan restaurant - we do understand that it was perhaps due to a lack of staff and will give this another try next time. They did give us $5 off for the wait. With that being said, we do hope service and food will be better next time!
I was not impressed the orders came back confused I was saddened by the fact that they could remember who had what about the one ladys dinner and we thought it was a appetizer and because they didnt say anything we all split it and then realized that it was her dinner afterwards thats not good
We started off with calamari and stuffed mushroom, both were excellent. My niece had her go to dish clam linguini. They are not stingy with the clam as you can see in the pics.
Excellent! Love the kofta/kefta and rice. The staff is so kind and professional. Everything weβve had has been so yummy and whether we eat in or take out everyone is so nice to us. Thank you!!
Delicious charbroiled kebabs in generous portions and welcoming hospitality; I would go out of my way to eat here again.
Great tasting food, generous portions and friendly service. Ill go back!
Best service I ever had in my life! They are nice, understanding and took my order over the phone and even made a recommendation for some of thier options and it was the best! The first time I tried afghan food and it wont be the last! Great prices, good food, what more could you ask for?! And they have outside dining! The best I ever had, great food and good people equals a good business.
The food was delicious but ordering and getting the food took a long time. No spoons to eat my food with. Very confusing restaurant and very expensive.
The kebabs are where its at!!! All good, great staff.
Yes! This has been my go to place for Afghan food! If you love flavor and food, you must try them. Have ordered through doordash during COVID-19 and in the past, have ordered for take out as well. Both are good options. Food was always hot and delicious! The lamb kabobs are a must!
We will come again to try other items on their menu.
I am giving 2 stars only because of the hygiene, nothing wrong with taste of ordered food. I ordered 7 types of food for my friends I picked it up and didnt check it. When I came home we opened it and each dish had 2 small containers with sauces, these containers were merged into the food. My friends didnt even try dishes with merged containers. I was embarrassed. Please dont do that, its not hygienic in us, even if it may be ok in Afghanistan.
π₯ and excellent customer service
The way we were treated was not good at all it was like one of the bad slave movies we did not get service deserved I dont think Ill go back
Honestly I enjoyed the food with my family πͺ.Thank you guys.
Excelente Food !!! Excellent service and Good prices
Excellent food, inexpensive, family business, delicious!
Their foos is very different than the traditional ones. I like their taste, quality and quantity. π
Certified house of smacktabular bombness. If youre looking to try something new, go here fasho. Get the Bolani and Mantu. So bomb
You guys used to make Good Food year Ago.
Amazing meal and friendly owners!
Great food & great people!
A fav spot for tasty afghani food. It was so appetizing. Looking forward to returning with my friends. Mood here reminds me of San Diegos scene.
Since I wanted my mantu and quabili pallow fix i ventured over to this location. The food is always flavorful, pricing reasonable and never disappoints. Ghazni restaurant is operating for takeout with a few seats outside in their patio with the option of delivery. theyre very welcoming and friendly and will help guide you thru the menu.
Decent food but they screwed up my order (appetizer size for 3 of the dishes which should have been meals and we got one thing we didnt order at all instead of something we did order which wasnt there. Plus had me wait for 20 minutes after my order was all prepared and was just sitting on a table. I get that they were busy, but it was still really disappointing
Food used to be good but my last few outings here have not been up to par. Food was eh... At best. Secondly screwed up on our order couple of times. Didnt get bolani as ordered. Second time we ordered spicy and it was totally bland. I am not sure if I will be going back there again since we found a spot just as far but twice and good.
Dear Ghazni this review is not only letting you know how delicious & tasty your food has been to us during our lockdown but how well you have learned and managed to take Covid-19 protocols into action. Your kitchen staff always has a smile and are polite inspite of language barriers. We wish you the very best for future.
Loved the food and service
Food was amazing! And very friendly staff.
Very Friendly staff, Great Food.
One of my main places to grab something to eat. awesome location, always clean, and good service. 5 stars!
The person that took my order was rude and very unprofessional! sad because he seems to be the owner!
Best food ever, very friendly people and great customer service
Just had a fantastic dinner delivered last night from this place. The lamb chops and the bolani were absolutely delicious, but everything was really good. I ordered some extra food to last a few days, and they made for great leftovers. I highly recommend this restaurant.
