Just got my yearly eye exam this week. I must say Ive never had a more thorough or informative eye exam, Dr. Biskupiak is amazing! 6/5 will return!

Efficient and friendly staff.

Dr. Henriksen and her staff were so friendly and accommodating. I took both my young children in for exams as well and the staff was so great to work with. The process was efficient and quick and I left with all of my questions answered. I never felt like I was being rushed or hurried and each member of the staff as well as the doctor made me feel welcomed and important. I highly recommend Helena Vision Center.

All the staff here are very professional. I really like Dr. Nottingham and after having serious issues with both retinas my confidence in him is complete. Also Marci is great at helping you with glasses frames. Shell keep adjusting them until theyre perfect.

I only just moved to Helena for college and have very little experience with going into doctors offices alone outside of my tiny town. I also have severe anxiety so I was so happy that the staff was friendly and helpful. They really were fantastic and I will remain with them for however long I am living in Helena.

I do not ever write reviews, but given my strong distaste for my experience, I felt I had to write my review.Essentially, my review reflects I would not get your eye exam at this location. Especially during a pandemic. Go to Costco. Well worth it...I recently had my annual eye exam at this office. I had seen Dr. Nottingham a few years back, but due to scheduling, I saw their new doctor, Angie Biskupiak. I was highly displeased with the service provided by the doctor and the technician. The front office staff was wonderful though.I had my infant with me, who was quite well behaved for the unnecessary amount of time the visit took. The first part of the exam I traveled throughout the practice from one room to the next to complete the preliminary vision tests. Traveling from room to room made me very uncomfortable given the current pandemic. Although masks were required and my temperature was checked, it seems the office should be more conscientious of keeping contact of both patients and surfaces to a minimum.When discussing my contact lens prescription, I told Dr. Biskupiak that I was currently using the Kirkland Brand one day lenses and I was pleased with their comfort and fit. I had the lenses with me and offered for her to check them in order to ensure they were still working. Dr. Biskupiak said she would not be able to re-prescribe these because she could not check the fit and the new prescription. She stated Costco has a monopoly on the lenses. Although I was disappointed with this answer, we discussed a new lens, Acuvue Moist. The exam determined a change of -.25 in my current prescription, from -3.5 to -3.75. Biskupiak brought in Acuvue Moist trial lenses in a -3.5 as they were out of the -3.75 and checked the fit. She wrote my prescription for -3.75. Dr. Biskupiaks logic of not being able to prescribe the lenses I was currently in because of the inability to check the fit and the prescription was completely contradictory to her actions. The new prescription lenses, Acuvue Moist, were not checked for the new prescription, only for fit as my current lenses I had on hand could have been checked for. I didnt argue further because by this time, my infant was getting fussy and I wanted to just get out of there.In addition to this frustration, I had another issue with getting a renewed prescription for sunglasses to wear with my contact lenses due to photophobia diagnosis. Although history of this diagnosis was in my chart and I advised Dr. Biskupiak of my light sensitivity, at first request I was told they could not write a prescription for sunglasses as it was unethical since I did not have a condition. I am not sure who would be diagnosing this condition other than an eye doctor. Not to mention it was recorded in my medical history they had on file. After some bantering, the prescription was written and I left.After leaving Helena Vision Center, I proceeded to Costco Vision where they were able to squeeze me in as a walk in. I paid out of pocket to have my eyes re-examined since my insurance would not pay for a second exam within the year. On exam at Costco, my prescription ended up not changing from -3.5 to -3.75 as diagnosed by Dr. Biskupiak. I am thankful I did not order contact lenses in the new prescription only to determine they would have been too strong.All in all, I will not return and I wouldnt recommend this office to anyone. It really sucks and I am definitely disappointed I had to spend an extra $100 for my Costco Exam, especially with the way the economy is right now. I guess it was necessary to have an appropriate prescription and I would have spent more on the wrong contact prescription.

My husband has gone to Dr. Nottingham for years and has always spoken very highly of him, so I finally made an appointment. I’m one of those people who procrastinates going to the eye doctor because I’m pathetically fearful of anything getting close to my eyes outside of my control. Well, I couldn’t have had a better experience. Dr. Nottingham’s staff were so sweet and patient with me. Their kindness and gentleness were truly extraordinary. And Dr. Nottingham was absolutely wonderful. His incredibly kind and approachable demeanor put my nerves at ease instantly. He didn’t rush and explained everything in a clear and understandable way (which not all doctors seem to be able to do). Dr. Nottingham is truly an exceptional doctor and a genuinely likable guy. He and his staff gave me an unexpectedly wonderful experience.

The staff at Helena Vision Center is excellent! Christel and Alyssa were so great assisting me in deciding on a pair of glasses. Those two lovely women are a real asset to the clinic. Kudos to them!I would gladly recommend Helena Vision Center to anyone who requires vision assistance. They are a great team!

The doctors and staff of Helena Vision Center are the best!Friendly, courteous and most importantly, patient and knowledgeable. A much different experience than I have ever had at an eye doctor. Dr. Nottingham takes the time to explain everything and is careful to make sure you understand. I came out with a clear understanding of how to take better care of my own eye health with concrete facts. A great experience all around, would recommend them to all!

My Mom feel and broke her glasses while in Helena for a wedding, we were in a bind. The women at Helena Vision Center were great! We walked in and they immediately helped us. 15 min later the glasses were fixed, in a new case, and they didnt charge us a dime! Awesome people!! Thank you!!

I was soo HAPPY with these folks. They treated me like a person. The staff was very friendly and came right to my assistance. The product I was looking for was there and available in several options. Helena Vision Center made me an appointment for an eye exam and scheduled it sooner than later. I couldnt be happier that Helena Vision Center was an alternative to the, other guys in town.Thanks again!

Having a history of semi-annual optometry appointments over the past 25 years I am well experienced as a patient. With the opportunity to visit several optometrists in the area I am very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy offered at Helena Vision Center, it is above anything I have experienced so far. With experience in healthcare profession myself, it is nice to see doctors that are passionate about their career. Both Dr. Nottingham and Dr. Henriksen volunteer and educate the local community as often as they can. I have known Dr. Nottingham for many years, without hesitation I can say as a patient, and friend, that the dedication he puts towards patients is something that deserves mention. The front-end staff is prompt at getting information that is needed for purposes of insurance documentation and answering any questions. Careful with these guys. They told me cost of glasses then when I went to pick them up they charged me more than quoted and nobody could be bothered to explain price increase. Also charged for a contact fitting test with no warning or explanation.

I started going here about 3 years ago, after having a few less than satisfactory exams at a few other local eye care. My eyes are difficult to obtain good vision, which is frustrating to me too. I did not feel rushed by Dr. Nottingham and that he spent the time trying to get the best vision possible for me. This last visit has been complicated with having to fit a scleral lens due to medical necessity. The staff (especially Dr. Nottingham and Deanna) have been great to deal with over the many visits this has taken, but in the end Im seeing better than I have in many years! I will continue to go there and highly recommend them.

They have always been great. Not only did their doctor notice an anomaly with my vision, but she was the first do discover it without me revealing it first since I was a child, as I found ways to hide it.

I have come to Helena Vision Center for nearly 15 years; first as a patient of Dr. Coen, and now as he nears retirement, Ive been a patient the past few years of Dr. Henriksen. The care is top notch. Dr. Henriksen is knowledgeable, answers questions, spends time in a manner that is not rushed, and she is willing to offer over the counter remedies to help with various issues of aging eyes. I recommend her without hesitation as I recommend the entire staff-good place, good people.

Helena vision center, started in 1946 by dr John c Howard. The days where customer service was more important than the profit you made on each customer. I believe this establishment has lost its ways since their creation.My most recent experience here was about as bad as it gets. I interacted with 6 different employees, One introduced herself to me. I was never welcomed when I walked in the door. Only going to get my eyes examined once every year or 2 I was wanting to learn about my eyes health and how it has changed. That seemed to be the last thing on any single employees mind. Before my exam, I had shown interest in getting some new glasses, while I was waiting for my appointment, which the dr was running late for and I was not told. I was looking at the brand silhouette glasses. After the exam the dr had enough audacity to sit me in a waiting room and whisper to their sales associate what I had been looking at, implying her to close the deal suggesting a big profit. I cant believe how in personable every single employee I had interacted with was. I did want some new glasses, so I borrowed 4 pairs for a few nights, did my homework on the pairs, I choose to find what others liked and what I thought of each. When I returned I tried to get the pair of frames for the best price I found online, when I asked, will you match the price? It was a simple and stern, no! I understand a business has to make money, but I assure you the $40 discount I was asking for would not affect this business in the least.If you want a business who wants to give you knowledge about your eye health, and fair pricing on products, and a super fun enjoyable atmosphere with nice people, DO NOT come here.

Dr. Hendrickson interrupted her lunch to help tweak my contact lense options when I dropped in for a replacement-she was so kind and willing to help me and Im not even her patient. Thanks so much, Dr. Hendrickson.

Helena Vision Center is definitely recommended by me. Not only are they knowledgeable, but they are staff friendly and will make connections with you right away. Dr. Henrickson is who I see and is also who I take my kids too. Dr. Henrickson knows her information inside and out and really cares about her patients. I would not take my family anywhere else!
