Within 5 seconds of walking through the door was able to ask for help finding an item. Then was instantly able to go to self check out with no wait time and there were customer assistants standing nearby for the just in case moments. I say my visit lasted 5 minutes. The 5 stars rating is well deserved

This location is alot bigger then the usual ones I travel to. I even found a lightweight vacuum * cleaner, and some rug carpet deodorizers* come by! The staff is very nice. 👋😅🌸💙🎉💫

Home Depot itself is fine but the parking lot is another story. Tons of day workers just hanging out and also your occasional drug addict either begging for money or offerings sexual favors. I usually avoid that location for those reasons.
Found what I needed easily, went to self checkout which I didnt have to wait for, was in and out in 5-7 minutes! Employees were masked, as was I, but many customers werent despite the CDC recommendation for such.

Friendly helpful stafff...but the store is not really organized. Christmas trees and decorations are kind of pushed off and out of the way during the height of the season. Low inventory on basic things like the heavy duty garbage bags. Not my first choice. Christmas decorations are in full view but everything falls flat as you enter the store itself.

Worst experience ever. Using this store for long time but no more using and don’t recommend too.I buy m18 fuel blower which includes all kits but there is missing the battery and ask to the manager to exchange but he refused. The reason is they don’t do return twice .so the first one is opened box and returned by way, and second is battery missing. So whats the wrong with the exchange????? And The manager forced me to buy the battery separately which i did. Better to go wallmart.
Worst Home depot! Went to get lumber, not one associate came to the aisle to help me. Had them page an associate many times, still no one showed up, after 25mins I left everything in the cart and Im going to lowes! You lost my business for good!!

OMG!!!! The best experience at Home Depot ever. I’m used to going to the Home Depot in queens and I’m always terrified of going because everyone (including the customers) are always so grumpy!! Dawood!!! He was at the paint section and helped me choose the right paint for the job. He deserves an award! He was alone at the paint section and was taking care of multiple customers and helping people in the aisles at the same time! It’s Friday night and boy was it busy! I was totally clueless in the paint area and he helped me with my paint and frost spray. I wanted to give him a tip for helping me and he refused it. He was just doing his job. Thank you Dawood for being so patient and helpful. You make a positive difference in the company and I hope you get the recognition you deserve.

The incompetence and lack of effort by the management here is frightening. I truly wish I made this story up: My roommates and I placed an order for a couch on March 1st to be shipped to Hempstead for pick up. We were given an ETA of about 2 weeks. The date came, and we didnt receive an email that our order was ready. A few more days go by, maybe a week. My roommate calls the store because we havent heard anything about the couch. They told my roommate that it never arrived and that the manager would give him a call back the following day.He received no call back the following day. Over the course of the next few weeks, my roommate called back multiple times, was placed on hold, and was hung up on multiple times. Were now about 4-5 weeks from the date of the original order, and no one has returned our calls or given us the slightest update about the situation. My roommate finally got in touch with a worker in the warehouse who informed us that they received an incomplete shipment. He said he was sorry that no one informed us and that if we had known weeks ago, we couldve placed a new order. He knocked 5% off (insulting) and reordered the couch.About a week and a half later we get an email (I believe it was on April 10 or 11) informing us that our couch had arrived and we needed to pick it up by April 15. My roommates went to Hempstead to pick it up on April 13, and spent an hour in the store while the workers ran up and down the aisles looking for the couch. Once again, they told us that they didnt have our couch. It is now a month and a half since we originally placed the order. Again, we were told that a manager would call the following day.And again, no manager called. My roommate was on the phone for 4 hours being put on hold and being disconnected trying to figure out what was going on. He finally got in touch with someone who told him that the Hempstead location mistakenly shipped our new couch back to the manufacturer. They offered to order us the couch once more, and my roommate begrudgingly agreed. The next day they called us back and told us that the couch was out of stock so we asked for our money back. They immediately told us that the couch was released to us and wouldnt give us the money back--another few hours of frustration before my roommate finally got them to refund us.Not once did anyone in the store try to make this right. No other discount, no store credit, barely so much as an apology--just hours of hold times, phone call hang ups, and unreturned calls. A month and a half later and we still have no couch because this store actively ignored us. Even for a review this long, it does no justice to how awful the entire situation actually was and how neglectful and careless the staff acted.
Just went for sandpaper but the place was well stocked. Christmas decorations out and very neatly organized. Covid regulations followed, fueling line moved real fast. Good place

I was able to find what I was looking for with having to ask a store associate. Was at the customer servixe area but none of the representatives acknowledged me... they were talking amongst themselves. A friend of mine quit his job there because of the staff and management.
Cleaner than the nearby Home Depot, but these losers still don’t have any ice melt or salt when people need it most. Thoroughly enjoyed getting hassled for money by homeless guy(s) outside in the parking lot here also.
Home depot is always good for basic items. Its close to where I live and typically has what I need which are mainly garden, electrical, hardware, paint and lightning
I ordered 2 sets of bar stool chairs for my new island on the Home Depot website, i ordered them on the 1st of March and by the 4th were delivered to my local store in Hempstead. I received an email notification with tracking information and confirmed they arrived i then call the store number and the automated system also confirms the package had arrived and was being prepared. I then wait the entire day for an email to pick up and get nothing, i then drive there to be told that it’s not ready to give it till Monday. No problem i do that and come Monday the 8th of March 8 days later. I call and am told it has not arrived i then contact corporate and am told that it must’ve been delivered to the wrong location because there is more that 1 Home Depot in Hempstead. I then remember did order from my job in Suffolk county which the nearest Home Depot is in setauket to be told that it shows that it is at #1274 (Hempstead) Home Depot! So 8 days later what was supposed a great easy fast experience to complete my new island. Has turned into a huge waist of time for me and my family. I believe the receiving manager and the staff in charge at this location should be questioned and looked into.

I would say Im a frequent customer of home depot, since Im always doing things around the house. I went today to get a piece of finished plywood cut and there was no one in sight to help me out. I asked an employee who was passing by if he works in the lumber department or knows where the person who works in lumber is. His response was he pointed to a random worker who was just at returns. I was walking up and down every aisle in the lumber section looking for someone. Finally I found this kind girl if she can page me or get me someone to help me, 5 min later someone finally showed up to help me out. But this wasnt the end of my experience at home depot. I was looking for 2 inch rigid casters and the app said they had 40 in stock but zero on the shelves. I asked the same guy who I first asked about lumber personel and his response to me was whatever is on the display is what they have, not even an effort to look above the shelves. Now I know I cant go based on what the app says but when it says 40 in stock thats a lot of casters to just disappear.

Came in looking for a patio door replacement. The guys working in this Door/Window dept are a JOKE! Older guy had no interest and seem like I was bothering him while he was working (I was the only customer that needed help). Older guy brushed me off and told younger dude to help me. This guy tried a little but was either new or didnt care about a sale. He showed me one door and just said I was better off ordering direct from Anderson... which I already knew was not possible. HD customer service is usually hit or miss but this was just the WORST.
GOOD NOT BEST PEOPLE WAS CUTTING THE LINE THERE WAS LONG LINES AT STOP&SHOP BUT ONE MUST HAVE PATIENCE.
Very disappointed but unfortunately expected. I found the product on the Home Depot website. No one seemed to know what it is or where to find it. One person sent me from plumbing to garden then to 12 then back close to garden then back to plumbing. I have a sprained ankle. I just left. Next time order online and wait for it to come.

I also lost my wallet; I did not know where.also and three days later I went to ask and one of their staff found it and he gave it to the manager who gave it too me.

Was attempting to purchase an air conditioner from this location. The price was not displayed in store so I had to look it up on their website. Imagine my surprise when the item was rung up twenty dollars more than what it was on the site. I was then told that its Home Depots company policy to not have to match the same prices for items in their store versus their website. I left and ordered a better AC online at Walmart for cheaper.

If you are doing curbside pickup, you are better off going to Home Depot in Elmont. I had three issues with Hempstead Home Depot:1) In-Store customers parking in Curbside pick up spots. This does not happen in Elmont as frequently.2) They never sent an email saying my order was ready for pick up - I checked the Home Depot app myself to find out my order was ready.3) I had to wait nearly 40 minutes to get my curbside pickup order. That is unacceptable. I went inside the store and found out that no one had even put my order together. Why? I checked-in using the Home Depot App to notify the store I arrived. Does the store not have any employees monitoring curbside pick up orders?During a pandemic, curbside pick up should be a focus for all stores. It is unacceptable that this store does not seem to place the same level of focus on its curbside pickup service as others.
Im glad that I was able to find a more convenient Home Depot from me thats less traffic. I love their selection of plants. However with the pandemic, their inventory has not been quickly replenished.
It wasnt bad. The only issue was, we ordered online but, when we asked the security guard if we had to wait on the line to enter the store said yes. However, after asking an employee we were told no, just wait outside. Overall good.

Came in front paint and tile. They didnt have the color tile we needed. Then we went to get the paint we wanted. The associate was very helpful and told me something a the kind of paint I was going to buy then told me there was a better type of paint to cover wood cabinets instead of the basic paint. Then I needed help picking out a stain to make chairs that need to be touch up from a lot of wear and tear. He gave use the best match from a picture we showed him. He was extremely helpful.
Seems over staffed. People standing around with the NASTIEST attitudes and unwilling to assist with questions/directions. Too much horseplay. Needs improvement!

Curbside pickup for floor tiles for my kitchen reno. Had to wait ten minutes and walk to the other side of home depot after going inside to the online order pickup line. Then they drop 30 boxes of porcelain tile and tell me someone will come back to help you load your tiles into car. No one ever came back. I have medical issues which makes it hard for me to walk. Luckily after about twenty minutes a worker who looked like he was on break came over and helped me. Freeport Home Depot needs to get a little bit more organized.
Lines are not that long and for the most part anyone u ask for help usually knows where things are if you cant find them yourself.

Alcoholics hang outside all day outside in the parking lot at all times and uses the facilities in HD. Customer service only tolerates customers to get paid. I can say more but not worth my time. I also suggest check theyre website before arriving for any product you are searching because at most they may not have it.

My first experiences at this Home Depot were not pleasant, but during the pandemic I started going about 3x a week, But let me cut to what I really have to say, the pro staff is SUBERB and helpful, Especially Jennifer from California and ISi with the red hair Soooo helpful in getting an exchange of a broken gate, and there manager OMG amazing experience sooooo helpful....
