Very quiet place. With awesome food.Update: I have been here now about 5 times+ and every time is a repeat wonderful experience. Very consistent quality and service. There are SO many options on the menu and they all are prepared well and are very tasty. It just takes me a long time to decide what I want because there are so many great items to choose from.
Local Italian deli style restaurant. Everything is just about hand made. Great tasting food. Simple beer selection that could be improved with some local crafts. Good neighborhood feel. Charlie and staff are very nice.
Its place where you can count on the food being consistent. The food is good, I wish they had their counter display setup. Even more importantly the last three times on weekends, twice they couldnt get the doors open at 8:30 and once we just left. Didnt feel like waiting.
I love going here. It feels like the neighborhood deli where you grew up and know everyone who works there, on a first name basis. The deli case is always full with treasure just waiting to go home with you. The menu covers all your classic Italian dishes, plus more. The cannolis are the best Ive had.During my most recent visit I ordered the Off Broadway. It was incredible, melt in your mouth goodness. Its so refreshing to eat a dish that still has a bit of a crunch in the vegetables. Im not a fan of over cooked, soggy vegetables. If you enjoy Italian food with a home town feel, this place will leave you wanting more.
3rd time weve ate here. Rachel is a great server. Food great every time. Only down side some what of a wait but Ill take that any day for the food and service.
Ate here for the first time last week. Sat by the owner and chatted for a bit. Great food and locally owned. Better than the franchise Italian eateries in the area. Highly recommended but very small seating area. Get there early.
Definitely better than I had anticipated. Will return, multiple times. So much Ive seen that I wanted. As someone who appreciates good food, I recommend this place. A heads up, it can get a bit pricey, but worth it. For two, one can spend up to $50, all depending on what you get.
We ordered a Godfather sub and the Chicken Franchaise pasta dish. The sub was good, with fresh bread and greens. The pasta, however, was HORRIBLE . Lemon taste overpowered the dish, and the sauce was thick almost like a gelatin. The quality of the chicken was poor. It seemed to either be previously frozen, or cooked then reheated. The pasta dish was a small portion, but cost almost $17!We will not be returning.
This is the first Italian restaurant my family has gone to since moving to the area, and to be honest we are hard pressed to look for another after having eaten here. The food tastes great, and the portion sizes were more than anyone in our family can finish. The service is also fast, and the staff very friendly.
The food is generally good if you can get past the cold temperature in the restaurant.Since new owership, weve noticed the restaurant literally feels like its between 58 and 60 degrees. People sit with coats on and it feels like the air conditioning is on. When we told our server, she just agreed with us that its cold. Throughout both visits, we hurried to finish so we could leave due to the cold temperature. The food is good but definitely overpriced, but works if you like leftovers. They offer many items in half portions but not the lasagna or a few other items. Lasagna is $13.95 and comes with nothing like salad or bread.
Small but great place to eat Italian food. The waitress was very nice and friendly. Lasagna and Cannoli were both good.
Just tried calling the store, no one picked up for about 5 minutes. Called again just to double check, and someone picked up. It sounded like a teenage girl and she said Avanti Gourmet, can you hold? while there was laughing in the background of another teenager. As a result, I waited for 7 minutes and still no response... We just wanted to order something for takeout from one of our beloved Italian restaurants and whoever answered, ruined the experience. So good luck to other people who try calling the store.
Its great when the owner is there working. Not so much when he isnt. Ive been a semi regular for years. The staff was great at one time. Not recently though. Good is great but its just not what it used to be. Maybe Ive been hitting times the owner is off.
Great food. Great atmosphere. The owner, Charlie, is a great guy to know. Feels like youve stepped out of Hendersonville and into a New York or Chicago Italian joint.
Very good food. Moved here from San Diego. Had lasagna to test the basics. Prepared individually in Au Gratin baker. Very good. Spouse had linguini with clam sauce. A must have. It was very good as well. Service was good as well. Will definitely be back for other menu items. Chef has very good skillet skills as clam sauce is very good. Highly recommend.
Unaware that Charlie sold out. Glad he puts his wife first! The cook was complaining about his work hours very loudly in front of customers. Not the first tome weve had to listen to him complain. Then the cook proceeds to make so much noise banging on the grill the only other couple had to ask the waitress to get him to stop. Seriously it was obnoxiously loud. We got our lunch and also got to enjoy strings of plastic meat wrappings in our sandwiches. To us the place is dead since Charlie is no longer there. This was our last trip. No wonder there were only two couples eating there at 1230 on a Saturday. We will not be back!!!!!!!!!! Dont go there.
It was ok but I found the food and service to be mediocre at best. It is a small Italian restaurant, lots of pasta dishes, sandwiches, pizza. (I got a pepperoni pizza and had to search for the pepperoni.) Carrabbas is better and you practically pay the same price. 3 entrees and it was $60. IMO
Amazing menu for such a small place. Delicious pizza and phenomenal pastas. The sauce was incredible.
Amazing food! Best pizza ive had in awhile. We also had a huge thick burger. This place should be packed 24_7 . Its definitely a hidden gem!
Great food with very friendly and attentive staff. My wife loves her eggs Benedict, and I had a great gyro.I looks toward to trying another meal soon.
Just an excellent little restaurant. Good food at reasonable prices. Try their Lasagna.
Took a friend there from out of town for brunch, they stopped serving breakfast because they were short staffed. So we ordered pasta, its hard to screw up pasta but they did. Im local and live very near, but will go to Music City Diner next time.
Lovely staff, extensive menu and comfortable environment. They rightfully boast the quality of their meats.Tuna salad and chicken salad are excellent!
My down syndrome nephew was yelled out by the owner Charlie because Charlie forgot to put pepperoni in his calzone and was asked nicely by his mother to remake it. He had no right to yell at my nephew rather him being disabled or not. Very unprofessional.
To quote my husband “you think you’ve had good pizza before until you try this at Avanti”
This place has exceptional New York style deli cuisine and a nice selection of Italian dishes as well as well-crafted burgers, heroes, sandwiches and salads and a full breakfast menu served until 11:30am throughout the week (until 1pm on Sunday).
Dont go for the service. Theyre friendly but slow. Lobster ravioli is delicious! Cheesecakes for dessert and the tiramisu is great as well. I even like their burgers.
Omg food is amazing it was worth the wait very quiet place to go. My first time eating here today . will definitely come back for another great experience
Great food and service. I highly recommend this establishment.
One of my favorite spots...food is on point and the service is second to none....Se vuoi abbinare questi ragazzi devi andare a New York o Napoli! Magnifico!
The Shrimp Carbonara is GREAT! Food is prepared fresh so there is a slight delay in getting your food. Rob is a great cook and prepares food just as ordered. You will be pleased once it is served. Well worth the wait. Rachel & Chris are great Servers/ Host/Hostess and I have come to know them by name and vice versa.
In a town full of chains this restaurant stands out. I had lunch here and then dinner a week later. Brought the wife for dinner. Friendly and attentive staff. My water was never empty. Food was great. It arrived at the table promptly and hot. We left stuffed after sharing a cannoli. Being from NY I have had a lot of chicken parm and am happy to have found Avanti to satisfy my cravings. Well definitely be back!
Wonderful authentic Italian food prepared with only the finest ingredients! We have dined here numerous times and the service and quality of food is consistent time after time. Avantis is a special treat right in our own back yard without the hassle of going to Nashville for authentic Italian gourmet food! They are equipped to handle many dietary needs. The owner, Charlie, is an Italian chef and oversees every aspect of the business. His warmth and appreciation will make you feel truly welcome! We love Avantis!
Moved here from NY. Hard to find GOOD Italian food like this South of Virginia. Just like back home. Best Italian spot
Good food. We loved the made-to-order bruchetta!
Very good food. The special that day was incredible. Price was very reasonable.
Great vibe and great food. Had the chicken parm. Red sauce is spot on. Bread is great and the cheese cake was the topper. Will be back for sure.
I had the shrimp carbonara and my fiancé had the chicken parmesan. Both were excellent.
My fiance is gluten intolerant so I spend A LOT of time trying to find restaurants that offer menus that meet my standards and her dietary needs. When I found out that Avanti Gourmet now offered gluten free options I was ecstatic - I have eaten there for years. The care they have taken to convert their menu to gluten free is evident in the quality of their pasta dishes and especially their pizza crust. They offer almost everything, short of their breaded items, in a GF option. I can personally recommend the pizza and the shrimp carbonara. The true proof though is in the fact that the fiance woke up the next morning without any gastrointestinal distress - there was no gluten cross contamination. Great atmosphere and welcoming staff make this restaurant a trip worth taking.
Stouffer s frozen food has better (and more authentic ) tasting Italian
Strange Italian food . slow service
Avanti is the best restaurant Ive eaten in Nashville! The staff is hospitable and the food is exquisite. Try the egg plant parm at dinner and eggs Benedict at brunch!
To expensive for what they offer. Food quality is good but bland
This was the best kept secret of Henderdonville but the cook had to be asked to quit scraping the fryer area he was so noisy. He was complaining about the hours he had to work and the amount of work. Our sandwiches had plastic in it from the lunchmeat casing. So sad this place was great. Charlie sold it and it shows.
Good food, nice atmosphere, good service.
Locally owned, family run. A taste of New York in Sumner County!
Great food and service makes you feel like in one of boroughs of New York!
Try the meatball sub or if youre there early enough, try the French toast. Very very tasty.
Great food and even better service. We had Chelsie this time but they all rule!
Truly the best .....great food at a great price.....well worth a try..I will be back
Very good Italian food, nice atmosphere, very nice people, great service!
Everything was delicious! Our server was very sweet and hard working!!
Delicious bread, and chicken rice soup was awesome.....Also, highly recommend the pizza here!!
Great menu choices & nice wine selection. Cozy little place with something on the menu for anyone.
Great Service and authentic NY style dishes.
Service could use some improvement, but the food is always hot and good
We come here all the time because the food is great, the servers are polite and owner is a delight. Its a cozy spot with a community feel and is not only the best in Sumner, but one of the best in Nashville.
The food is decent, the service is just ok and they seem to be closed more often than they are open. I wish I had more to say - good or bad - but its merely OK.
Go here every Sunday for brunch! Food is fantastic for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Friendly, great food pleasant dinning experience
Good food. On of our favorite local places to eat.
Great food excellent serviceCharlie and his staff very friendly and welcoming. Well be back soon.
Simple menu but good food and great service.
Food and service is great. Great menu with lots of choices.
Amazing Reubens and Lasagna, will go back soon👏
I have ate at many Italian restaurants. This by far is the best Italian food I have EVER put in my mouth. It is even better than Joeys House of Pizza which I thought couldnt be beat. The pizza was amazing, salad dressing = amazing, gyros = amazing, and of course the tiramisu was fantabulous. Everything is consistently amazing. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming and has a very authentic feel to it. Service is prompt and courteous. Prices are reasonable. This is Hendersonvilles best kept secret by far.
The BEST Alfredo Ive had in 20+ years!
Avanti gourmet is one of my family’s favorite places to eat. The atmosphere is New York diner casual, the service is friendly and fast, and most importantly Avanti has some of the best Italian food anywhere around.
Excellent breakfast menu and great service.
Pleasant surprise ... food great ... service awesome ..
