The last four times that I have ordered Pad Thai (99A), there is only two or three small pieces of chicken. The dish is almost entirely noodles with little else. In my most recent order, there was a single, not chopped peanut (the menu makes it seem like peanuts are essential to the dish). Clearly the quality control on individual orders it sloppy. My order this evening will unfortunately be my last here, which is a shame since we are local to the area.
Very good pho with good portion size, and I eat alot. They also have a decent sized patio. Will definitely go back. Enjoy!
I love this place. I eat here a few times per week. The food is filling and done well. Service is fast and friendly. They got soups, stir-fry dishes, meat and rice, dim sum, and other items. Usually crowded during lunch and dinner rushes. A lot of students and local residents eat here. I like the beef and rice. It comes with an egg.
Pho dac biet - special pho. Tripe/tendon/flank/rareIt was great.Upsize, the servings here are reasonable, but not like other viet places. Their large is more like other places medium.Herbs and sprouts were very fresh, broth was flavorful, meat was abundant. The only slightly disappointing thing was the tendon which was overcooked for my liking... not enough to take away a star though. Great job Saigon.
Fantastic place to get soup, stir fry, dumplings, spring rolls and more. A nice casual setting with free wifi and some of the best prices and food in the area. I recommend the rare beef rice noodle soup and spring rolls(#1 on menu) . Staff was friendly and food came quickly without a long hungry wait. A treasure in the west end!
The food is delicious, however, while was there I saw a huge cockroach scurry across the dining room floor. Needless to say, I got up and left.
Love the food and prices but PLEASE stop giving take-out in styrofoam containers. They cannot be recycled
Oh my goodness... I ordered a wonton soup and two spring rolls. Threw them away after trying both. Spring rolls were tasteless and honestly not sure the meat (pork?) was thoroughly cooked? The Wonton soup tasted like ash... theres black on the inside of a green onion I saw. If this restaurant is good then I caught them on a bad night!

A good place if youre in for some Vietnamese food.The stir fried shrimps were absolutely delicious, with the sauce done just right.Sauteed beef was very good too, but be prepared to some spiciness.The combination pho was ok, didnt really blow my socks off. A bit too heavy on the noodles, too light on the meat. And it was just lukewarm.The bubble tea was an outright miss (the flavor too artificial, and the tapioca too chewy).Overall, though, a solid place, I may return for more. And the price tags are pretty decent, even on the weekend.

Not that big of a deal, but how they went about fixing it left a bad taste in my mouth. Chalked it up to a one off, glad I did. Day shift makes some great soup!Have to do something about the cockroaches though...when at the counter paying my tab, one literally skirted across the counter and over my hand. Poor girl on cash just quietly brushed it off the counter onto the floor. Where it went from there, who knows....
Last week I was deeply craving some genuine noodles. I had the pleasure of visiting this fine establishment not too long ago, so I decided to venture back for a visit. After looking at the menu, we saw that there was a distinction between soft and crispy noodles. We decided to go with crispy. What a surprise it was - WOW. The flavour was there (delightful) but I had no idea I would be ordering noodles so hard they were practically made of granite. At first, I was convinced it was a mistake. Perhaps they forgot to cook them. Honestly, it will could be the case but DON’T RISK IT! If this truly is an authentic dish, we apologize. However, this is a warning to all you innocent souls that want medium crunchy noodles ... just order the soft ones!!xoxo gossip girl

I didnt mind the price. Fresh rolls were good. Deep fried wontons were a bit small but flavourful (more filling please!). The boys ordered pork shop with shrimp skewers and rice and they said they quite enjoyed compared to our usual spots. I didnt mind the pho - house special. I quite liked the wonton soup, wontons were made with care. Havent been in a year and what I can say is that they are consistent!

Too Many Flies but Too Few StaffI have been coming to this restaurant for more than 4 years and it’s always been a 5-star restaurant. But since the beginning of this year, they have been cutting a lot of corners. The restaurant is severely understaffed (you need to wait for at least 30 min for the food) and there are SO MANY FLIES!!! We were waving away flies throughout our lunch, sometimes the flies even dropped onto our dishes and that’s absolutely DISCUSSTING!!! Although their food still tastes good, but I cannot imagine how many flies would be in their kitchen and how many of them would have enjoyed your food before you do...
My friend and I went reading all the good reviews. We had ordered Chicken green thai curry, shrimp+ shallot dimsum, lemongrass chicken and BBQ pork rolls. They did not have steam dimsums, the waitress was not very pleasant to ask questions about the food, the thai green curry was essentially boiled chicken in a sad gravy, lemongrass chicken was dry and no gravy but heaps of dry rice and runny fried egg (the waitress did not even ask us how we want the egg), the dimsum had barely shrimp in it. I did not enjoy the vibe of the place (felt very unclean for some reason), the server was in a weird mood, and the food- terrible! I was sure I would get food poising after eating the food, low quality food, you know when you have one.

Was there yesterday, wrote seafood # on my order, as the listing in the menu was unclear and I wanted to make sure I got what I asked for. They brought me a chicken soup and were pressuring me to accept it since it matched the number (but not the word).I apologized for the confusion and pointed out that I did say seafood. They grumbled but came back shortly with a new bowl with seafood in it. As I was eating, I found chicken in the bowl... Did they just pick out the chicken?!? Still, I didnt complain as I was with a friend I hadnt seen in a long time and didnt want to make a fuss.To top it all off though, before I left I asked for fried fish balls to go. The menu says you get 8 balls. When I got home I opened the container to find four (already small) fish balls cut in half. So eight tiny fish ball halves, lightly fried...While the taste is good, Im kind of scared that theyre cutting corners at the customers expense. There are plenty of better places to go for your pho in the city.

Rude service, bees and flys around you. added 5 shrimps for $4.99, a tiny bit spicy oil for $0.5, and the waitress came to us twice to let us know this. Stupid, will never come back.

The food was tasty! We had Pho, which was tasty and served in large quantity! It came quickly too! Great comfortable place for students to grab a meal. Beware however! The sriracha bottles are very finicky and it exploded into my own bowl and I noticed at another table it also exploded. Still, a decent establishment!

A Westdale staple. Ive been eating here for 15 years. Great food for a great price.. and a nice little patio for outdoor eats. Their wonton soup is one of the best Ive tried. Get a vietnamese ice coffee while youre at it!
Cute place. The service was great. Lots of choices however, poor ventilation, lots of smoke. My clothes and hair smelled like smoke. Very small restaurant with limited seating. Fills up fast at lunch. Food quality is okay. Nothing to brag about. Food portion was not bad but not great. Ive had better. I love the decor though.
Ive been going here for a long time and its one of my favourite places to dine in and get take out. The service is quick and the staff are always friendly. In all the times Ive been here I have always received delicious tasting food. Their prices are good and the variety is awesome. Its the perfect place to bring friends, family or a date for a nice cozy dining experience.
Pad Thai. For this young guy! No fries! But also lots of yummy food. I have to admit Im not the first to eat food. I usually go places and Ill have water. But this day I was hungry and I decided, heck it, Ill bite a chicken. So I ordered the chicken beef shrimp rice yummy messy bowl. It was eaten all of it.
The pho was ok. Not the best in town. Everything on the table was dirty. Menus, condiments, utensils, were all dirty both times I went there

I used to love this place but the service has been absolutely terrible the past 5-7 times Ive been. Portions have been decreasing steadily and now all their prices have gone up which is part of what used to make this place so good. The last time I went they refused to give me a little container of hoisin and hot sauce, which I get every single time I go there. They also forgot my side order of soup and when I went back to get it, the waitress originally denied that I ordered it, then eventually realized she was wrong, laughed, and gave me the soup. The time before this my dads food didnt arrive until after everyone at the table was done eating. We asked them for it multiple times as well throughout the lunch. The cups are also almost always dirty.

Nothing special to say, its your regular run off the mill Vietnamese restaurant.The noodles taste as theyre supposed to taste.Thats already a good thing, because there are quite many fake Vietnamese places were the signature noodles did not taste nothing alike.If they offered an Extra Large option they could have gotten a 4x🌟 because their Large is just the size of the Regular in other restaurants.Price wise its okay, considering the sizes.At least theyre not overcharging as some other restaurants that charge you the price of a Large but you get the quantity of a Regular, or and Extra Large but only get the quantity of a Large.

Very affordable and tasty pho. Attentive/fast service even on the patio outside. Had their rare beef/beef balls pho and was impressed. The rice noodles were a bit softer than Im used to, but perhaps thats just because it was so hot.
Love coming here! One of the best pho places in Hamilton especially close to the university. Clean and nice atmosphere with cute chalk drawings. Most things are under $10 and you get complimentary fortune cookies!

Quality has gone down, portion size isnt even as large now even when you order an XL. I stay away from their Special Combination since the well done beef is too well-done. Its a lot more chewy than I wouldve like it. I stick with #59 on the menu. Keep it simple with rare beef and beef balls.

A reliable place for vietnamese food in Hamilton. Ive had lots of different dishes here, and never been disappointed by the price or quality. Perhaps not the nicest date spot, but always a solid bet for a good meal at a reasonable price.
