I had scheduled a tune up service for my oil burner. I had to take time off of work and pay for child care in order to be home for the service repairman. I wanted to get a better idea as to what time they would be at my home so I called. Only to find out that my appointment had been canceled without my knowledge. They are the worst a communicating. Had to reschedule for another tune-up that was over a month away. Not even priority for their own cancelation. Currently looking to change oil companies.
WORST COMPANY EVER!!They delivered oil after I canceled this is unbelievable ive been trying to get this resolved for 4 days now everything is on “recorded line” it was 200% the company’s mistake & 5 of their representatives agreed with me on RECORDED LINE! I asked them to take the oil back nicely they don’t seem to care about costumer service I’m not paying for their mistake 🤷🏻♀️ do not trust this company
Petro has great technicians to keep my equipment up and running as efficiently as possible. I also like that I can lock in my fuel prices.
I have used Petro for my heating systems for several years. Their service plans are affordable and the service is great. Just purchased their cooling plan for the first time and am very happy with that service also! Repairs for heating and cooling systems can be horribly expensive and Petro can really save you a lot of money.
A bunch of thieves. Wont let us cancel moms delivery while she is in the hospital and they are ripping her off at over $4.00 a gallon!
Unfortunately there was a huge error committed on their behalf. That’s not the problem!!! Resolving it is absolutely horrible. No one can help getting the run around and no return calls etc. been 7 months with no resolve. That’s all
Last night both of my heating and boiler were not working. I placed the service call and the tech, Tim came and fixed the issues within an hour. Love the 24/7 service, it’s very impressively efficient!!! Tim is also very nice and professional, he explained everything crystal clear and detail. Job well done.
My pipes were banging. The fire dept came and shut my burner down. They said to call Petro. I called Petro at 730am. Told them it was an emergency. Now nearly 2 hours later they still havent come. Guess they are waiting for my house to blow up. I am very disappointment
Sunday 6/6 - Raised Service Ticket as AC not working. 86 degrees in House. AC Compressor making a noise.Monday 6/7 - Customer Service desk confirmed Technician window noon to 3pm. At 4:30pm Laura confirmed “ I am next”. 6pm Jay Service Desk called to request changing the day. I said I need to keep the appointment as I have been off work waiting. 8:44pm Jay calls and informs me that I am next (again). At 9:50pm I get a call from the technician who informs me that he is 35 minutes away and if the issue is outside he cant fix it.At 10:51pm last night technician arrives and looks at the thermostat. Asks is it the breaker? Then he turns the unit on. “ oh its outside. They will have to come tomorrow to fix the outside issues and you will have to call them”Tuesday 6/8 - Customer Service desk confirm the Technician window noon to 3pm. At 4:30pm AC Technician arrives looks at House breaker panel, looks at AC breaker. Takes panel off compressor and says “It’s an electric issue. Call an Electrician and then call us back to run diagnostic on the compressor” and promptly leaves at 5:45pmWednesday 6/9 - I call out an emergency Electrician who also looks at the AC breaker, and the house breaker panel. removing the breaker and testing it. Confirms it is NOT the breaker it is the AC Compressor!!I call Petro and the service desk acknowledges their error and states that a Technician will be here at 8am on 6/10.Thursday 6/10 -Called at 9am and left a call back as technician is NOT here.Online chat at 10am who apologizes and says a manager will call.5 days of AC not working. 5 days of house being 86 degrees all day and all night. 3 days of me not working impacting me financially as I wait for Petro to turn up and then they dont. If Petro cannot sort out the cooling in the summer I am worried as they have the boiler under agreement for the winter.
I have been a customer of Petro since my Rite oil company was merged into Petro. Their service is outstanding. It is prompt and professional. Customer service actually answers the phone, not a common occurrence these days, and they are courteous and helpful.
On March 4, 2021, I received a delivery of boiler oil from Petro.Driver #106, truck #1482Thank you, Delivery man Paul.He called me 15 minutes before the delivery, so I could prepare it, and he helped me not to cause problems with the sludge in the oil tank.Im upset that my economic situation is not good these days because the price of boiler oil has become expensive.I hope Petro can deliver the boiler oil at a lower price.1 year Service Agreement fee is too expensive for me.Thank you for the good service.
Quick, efficient, great service. I needed maintenance on my system came out same day spent 15-20 minutes tops and my family was warm and toasty within an hour. GREAT, TOP NOTCH SERVICE!
We have been a customer for more than 15 years. Recently we noticed a leak in our burner and called for service. We were able to get an appointment relatively quickly which was great. Just wanted to say thanks again to Louis B the plumber tech that came for the service. He was knowledgeable and courteous. It was a challenging job and he had a very tight space to work in. He took the time necessary to be thorough in what needed to be fixed and that made me feel very confident in his work and comfortable. He cleaned during the process to minimize the dust. He should be commended for providing great customer service.

Petro Home Service had been supplying our oil tank for the last five years and never have any issue with delivery, billings and friendly staffs.This afternoon, I called Petro since there is a leak on the boiler. I spoke to agent Carmen who is very helpful, respectful and knowledgable to resolve yet problem.She suggested money savings offer to Lock in the ceiling price of oil for one year.Able to reinstate the service maintenance that was cancelled due to non payment by the landlord since 2018.Arranged an immediate serviceman to check the leaking boiler within 24 .Amazing staff Carmen is. I give her s 5 star rating for her expertise.
Petro oil, where do I begin. When I say customer service I mean great customer service. I don’t know what vetting process they use, but in ten years there hasn’t been a bad experience. The customer service is A1, deliveries are on time and they’re proactive with customer care. I went gone through a rough time recently and they’ve been so understanding. Tatiana in billing took time out to encourage me to see the positive side of things on our call, I will never forget our exchange. I’ve had service and repairs done by them, no complaints on price and workmanship. The techs clean up after themselves and explain what is going on. Petro is the way to go
Serviceman by name of Vinny answered our service call on Monday, 2/1/2021. He was professional and attentive to our request. He provided us with emergency oil and waited until heat was restored. Kudos to Petro Home Services!
I recently had a part installed on my boiler. We requested the 1st service man who was here to come back to do the job when the part came in, as he suggested the installation of the part for the problem & knew exactly what needed to be done.When he came back he also had a helper with him. I had never met or seen before. I always leave the servicemen alone in the boiler room while working on the boiler, of course offer them water, soda etc. & I would like to add that I gave both of them a $25.00 tip each when they left.When my husband came home to see what they did, he noticed our change jar was missing. It was one of those plastic jugs that are filled with pretzels from BJs, it was filled with all quarters, had to be about $1,000.00. You could actually see on the shelf from the dust in the boiler room where the jar used to be. Now I know it wasnt Joe, as he had been to our house a couple of times before so the only other person who had been back there was his helper.When I called to explain what happened, not only did I not receive an apology, the woman I spoke with did nothing to ease my mind or assure me that it would be looked into. She said that she spoke with the men & they said they didnt see it. Oh, really, like theyre going to admit that they took it. I expected more understanding on my part & reassurance that it would be looked into & not taken lightly.Anyway, after a couple of days I called back to explain my dissatisfaction with how the woman handled my situation. I wanted to cancel my services with Petro not only because of what happened but because of the way I was treated. We have our AC & oil covered with Petro for a few years now & I have never experienced anything like this before. This woman told me, well you can cancel, not a problem, but it will cost you $350.00 to break your contract. Ok how bout you take it out of the $1,000.00 you took. I did not want to pay money to cancel so I hung up as upset as I was before.So here I am, unhappy & still with Petro until my contract expires. I would never post names, my only suggestion would be to, I guess, be one of those people who stays right there while they work on my boiler & of course, never leave my change jar where others may see it. Honestly I never even thought that would happen as that change jar had been there a long time & never did I even think I would have to worry about that.Its a different world now & I guess for Petro, the customer isnt always right. smh
I put in a service call at 9:30am and received a service window of 4:30-7:30pm. I hadn’t heard from them by 7pm so I called back and they told me the tech was running behind, that he was still with another customer and that he would be at my house by 9pm. That was from a supervisor. At 9pm I still had not heard anything so I called back in. The supervisor I had previously spoken to had gone home so I spoke to another supervisor. He told me I was next on the tech’s list but he couldn’t tell me how long it would be. I finally got a call at 11:13 pm. It was cold the previous night so I know they must have received a lot of calls but I expect better from a large company that has been doing this for so many years. The tech was nice and able to fix my boiler issue in 30 minutes. I have a service contract for these exact situations and expect better communication and a more timely response.
Dec. 26th. Two of our zones were not working properly. I called Petro Home Services and explained that it wasnt necessarily an emergency, but one of my zones wouldnt shut off.They had someone come to my house the same day! Steven(Tech #279) was prompt, courteous, clean, thorough, skilled and informative. He took our worries away when he replaced a couple of failed components and got it all working beautifully again.
I have been a satisfied customer of Petro Home Services for decades and wouldnt think of changing to another company. They are top notch. Their customer service people are courteous, friendly and efficient and their technicians are the same. In all the years I have been their customer, I never once had an issue that they did not address promptly and effectively.I use them for my heating as well as Central Air Conditioning and they are great at both.Highly recommended. BE AWARE AND STAY AWAY .... they offer everyone a different price . their prices is much higher than any other place . i have been using them for my house and office for many years, with out ever checking another places pricing . But now I found that for many years i was taken for a ride and they over charged me to the maximum . I have made an inquiry to attorney general in regard to their MONOPLOY ON OIL IN NASSAU COUNTY .
I used Petro, and after the initial oil delivery, they started charging me $1.19 per gal OVER market value. I am not sure that is even legal. I contacted them, and they told me they would send a check (that never came). It cost me $792 to fill my tank. It costs me $425 for the same service from their competition. Also, my heating coil broke, and the repair man that came to fix it said he had to get the parts and he would return.... I had to make 7 calls just to get someone back and they STILL showed up without the heating coil.
Petro Home services were very efficient with their service from the technician who evaluated the problem to the Sales personnel Frank, not to mention the team who worked diligently for over 10 hours to ensure our boiler was replaced timely and properly. When they left they walked away with confidence knowing they fixed our problem. PLEASE RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE A HUGE SCAM!! They will never answer the phone, in your contract they will put services that you never asked for and when trying to cancel the service, they said they cant do that, this is the worst company i had to deal with, the usual reasponse is i will put a note and i will call you back and never do!! And also the oil is 1$ more expensive per gallon than anybody in the market. STAY AWAY!!
The service man you sent was excellent. He was helpful, pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. Not only did he fix the boiler quickly he was able to address several other issues that had been a problem for me in the past.

Work was done professionally. Workers were polite and thorough. They did a nice on cleaning up after their work. Richard explained everything to us as far as getting inspection from town and. Wing here when inspector was here.
I am very happy with Petro Plumbing. Scheduling appointment was easy. The day of they called me 30-40min prior to the technician coming. The price for service call was included in the cost of the repair. the technician came prepared with the parts as he knew in advance what he was coming for. The technician explained everything he was planning to do and quoted me the price before starting the repair. He quoted me the repair price (parts and labor) from the book. The technician showed me what he did after that. he was pleasant and professional. I will use Petro Plumbing again, already recommended it and will recommend it to friends and neighbors.
Making the appointment was fast and easy. Even though it was a Sunday, the tech was able to get to us within a reasonable time. I was given a window of time that he would arrive, He arrived at the earlier time. He was professional and friendly. Most importantly, he was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He cleaned up after he was done and everything worked perfectly. I have been with Petro many years and I will always recommend them.
I had a service man named Joe (freely ?) and he was absolutely wonderful. He took his time, explained everything to me in a way i could understand, cleaned up everything, and took care of my issue. He is a true asset to your company.

I called Petro Home Services because my ac unit was running warm. Petro promptly scheduled an appointment for the next day. The service technician was on time and extremely knowledgeable. He fixed the issue at the time but did explain that it could happen again as my system is old. About 5 days later my ac started running warm again. Even though it was a Sunday afternoon, Petro gave me the option of having my ac serviced that afternoon or on Monday. I chose that afternoon. The service man came and referred to the suggestion of prior Tech that I replace a part. Two days later the first Technician was back at my home first thing in the morning. He replaced the part and I am happy to say I have a well serviced running a.c. I have used Petro in the past and have never been dissatisfied. I highly recommend Petro. The are reliable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. They will explain everything and not rip you off.

We have been using them for oil deliveries and system tune ups.I havent had any problems with their technicians or oil delivery drivers.
Dont do it!, fell for premier service contract. mixing valve not covered!! was told everything covered but boiler coil on the phone by MULTIPLE people when I signed up. Contract lists parts, but who knows every boiler part??. previous oil company replaced this part twice under contract (was with them for 10+ years). Im told this is OVER $350 to fix. my pay slashed due to covid, this could not have happened at a worse time. we would have been better off with no contract paying out of pocket. when this contract is over going back to original company. Few cents more a gallon is worth better coverage. .Live and learn.also, I must add, they have not called back yet to confirm this part is not covered. They must be told not to spread miss information about what is covered. this is WRONG to do to people. tech says big deal fix, yet previous company replaced it in about 15minutes while I watched.PS. I dont blame techs, they are hard working honorable guys. I blame misleading of customers by sales by error or mgmt.Be careful and God bless you.
I Called Petro on 10-20-20 because my heater was not working.The mechanic supposedly fixed the problem. He changed my Navien board and repaired some parts which I ended up paying $735 dollars. 2 weeks later I called Petro again because still there was No hot water and some parts were leaking. The mechanic tried to fix the part and ordered different parts and the problem was the same for 3 weeks, No heat and no hot water and there solution to the problem was to use my Navien Warranty for a new system and pay Petro to install the new system for a total of $1,716.28. Before they even started working I needed to sign the authorization sheet which in less then a month I will end up paying Petro $2,451. Im a frustrated customer.
The service I received concerning my air conditioner was excellent. The service provider was punctual, polite and efficient. He worked quickly and diligently to locate and solve the problem.
I had no hot water on Sunday and was able to have a technician in my house within hours. He was able to resolve the issue in about half an hour and also gave my some insight into other things that I should be aware of in my boiler room. He was so helpful. The operator that I spoke to was also lovely. we were able to share a few laughs and she scheduled me right away. I loved my technician and Petro!
All of a sudden, I noticed I did not have any hot water. I tried pressing the red button and nothing happened! I waited and then tried, again and still the hot water did not turn on! I called Petro and immediately, they said they would send a technician. The technician arrive right on time and with a mask on! After some tinkering around, the technician came up the stairs and asked if I had turned off the heater from the switch on the wall! It then dawned on me that my 6 year old grandson inadvertently had turned it off. I apologized for the needless visit and the technician was so gracious and advised there was no need to apologize at all! Thank you Petro!
Have been getting dependable service for years. Had a recent issue where we ran out of oil. Delivery wasn’t on time. Given my thirty year history and great service I consider that an unusual mix up. Overall, I am quite happy with Petro.

Pressure Valve burst and flooded the closet with water. Petro respondes within two hours and had it fixed in 30 minutes, but then repairs a faulty tiger loop which took close to an additional hour. All was covered under my contract and the technician was courteous and explained what he was doing. Overall, beyond satisfied with the response and resolution from Petro.
They came when they said they were going to come. The tech was friendly knowledgeable and left the place clean !

Amazing service. Called on a Sunday afternoon I was expecting a lengthy delay being the weekend, instead I was pleasantly surprised to have a service technician arrive within the hour! The first rep I spoke to was named Jeffrey. I explained to him that water was pouring from my oil burner, and that I needed service ASAP. It was 4PM. He told me no one could be here before 7 to 9 PM. The situation worsened so I called back. He now said no one could be here before 11PM. I told him that was unacceptable. He responded that it was my problem, not his, and hung up. I called back and spoke to Celone ( I Think ). She was very helpful and was able to get someone here by 9PM. The service man ( John ) was terrific. He was knowledgeable and made temporary repairs, and arranged for permanent repairs to follow. I have been a Petro customer for almost 40 years and my experiences with you have always been great. I dont think my experience with Jeffery is indicative of your other Reps, but his attitude certainly doesnt help your image.
Had the strangest customer service call with John. There were a couple of awkward pauses during to call which prompted me to ask if he was there to which he would reply that he can hear me clearly a couple of times...felt like he was in the middle of doing something else rather than paying attention to the call.My main purpose of the call was to check on the status of my payment to which he could offer a generic reply that it can take up to 7 business days.All I wanted was to check if the check that I sent 1.5 weeks ago had been received or not. The kicker was that I was informed at the end of the call that the billing department was closed...

The technician that came to my grandmothers home at around 8PM on Thursday to fix my grandmothers boiler on her $537.59 Premium Service Contract, took the time to share with me that her chimney was crumbling internally, and she needed a chimney liner. He showed me a photo on his phone of a crumbling chimney interior and said it needed to be fixed with a new liner.My response was hostile. At $537.59 annually, I wanted to know WHY they JUST discovered my grandmother needed a new chimney liner, and who took the old liner out?I was FURIOUS. My grandmother was 98 at the signing of her 500+ service contract, and if she was in danger, I wanted to know why the technician that sold her this outrageously priced contract didnt make sure her equipment was working as efficiently as possible.Petco management didnt have an answer as to why my grandmother didnt have a chimney liner. They said a maintenance check in April 2017 was to remove a blockage in the chimney, but didnt note she had a liner at the time.A call to a recommended chimney tech told me that oil companies get kick backs for recommending unnecessary chimney liners on oil burner heating systems. He explained that they come into your home and prey on your ignorance. He said gas heating systems require chimney lines, but oil heating systems dont.Once I calmed down, I remembered that the Petco tech that came to my home was somehow able to get an enhanced shot inside my grandmothers chimney, AT NIGHT, showing the crumbling interior TOP.Okay. The tech was there to fix the boiler and get it working. Why was he looking inside my grandmothers chimney? Petco doesnt do chimney liners, or brick repointing, but the tech was going to provide me with someone that could.I didnt take the information at the time because I wanted to know why Petco was possibly leaving my grandmother in mortal danger with a chimney that should have had a liner, and the tech couldnt answer me this. He just left.Draw your own conclusions.

I have been a Petro customer for 36 years. They provide excellent service 24/7. Their service has been so reliable that in addition to the service contract that I have had for my heating system for all these years, I have added service contracts for my air conditioning and generator systems for the past 5 years. Just recently we lost the heat in my home late at night. I called and left a message for Brian O. imploring him to please send a tech to my home the first thing in the morning. He didnt let me down! A tech was at my home by 7:45am the following morning. If you want the security of knowing that a friendly, knowledgable tech is on call 24/7 to solve all of your heating, air conditioning or generator problems, look no further!
We had an issue with no heat and Petro resolved the issue in a fair and equitable way with us. We have been customers for many years and would recommend them. They have always worked with us and have a great team from the employees on the phone to the techs that come to your home.

We called because we saw oil on the floor from the burner. Originally we were told the service guy would come that night between 5:30 & 8 pm. We called around 11:30am. 10 minutes later Petro called back and told us the service tack would be at our home in 30 minutes. The tack was pleasant and efficient. Took care of our issue, explained what he did and cleaned the area he worked in.Always a pleasant experience with this company.

I came home from work and quickly realized we had no hot water and heat and immediately called Petro. Once Tech # 278 arrived, he not only identified and resolved the issue, but was extremely thorough in his explanation of the issue. He recommended ways to avoid similar issues in the future and how to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on my boiler and water tank. While providing 5-star customer service, I found him to be professional, personable and extremely knowledgeable. I would be happy to have Tech # 278 service our home again in the future.

I learned that he is the third generation in his family in the business. During our conversation we both spoke of our affinity for old hot rods and drag racing, a hobby he shares with his dad. I had expressed concern on not getting an oil delivery since we were very low. The days were getting colder again and I didnt want to come into a cold house especially since my kids are small. After a couple of calls I was informed that someone would come and supply some oil to hold me until the truck arrived. I appreciated the effort.
First tech did not seem to know what he was doing. 2nd tech was excellent.
If I could give Petro no stars I would. How dare you try to rip off my elderly mother with a high ball price for oil, and then try to negotiate lower when I threatened to go elsewhere. Who knew in this day and age of transparency that a company would take advantage of an elderly woman.
Great service, fast service! The service men discovered my problem and were able to correct it. The men fixed everything that need fixing and I am 110% satisfied with Petro. They cleaned up after they finished their work like they were never there. I am glad I chose Petro for my new home oil & boiler service
When delivering oil the delivery person had a problem with the vent alarm, I called the service number and a person was sent out and the problem cleared within hours!
The technician was at my home within 3 hours of my late afternoon call, an hour earlier than the estimated time. He diagnosed and repaired my boiler in under a half hour, cleaned up and was on his way. The best decision I made as a homeowner is to sign up with Petro for a repair contract, they have rescued me several times at all hours of the day and night.
If I could give 10 stars, I would. Extraordinary customer service. Always dependable and courteous! I’ve been a customer for almost ten years. I recommend Petro to any homeowner!!

The repair person showed up within an hour after my call. He was able to correct the problem in minutes and gave me a full explanation and showed me what was done. It was quick and the repair person was friendly.
I had an appointment to repair a pump on my boiler. It was ordered in September and for two months, I did not get any feedback. I decided to call and low and behold, the item was available. If I did not call, the pump would have been just sitting there. The pump was installed on the day I called thankfully. I was informed by the Petro servicemen that my pump will continue to go bad since the configuration with my boiler and the basement heating was installed incorrectly. Let me remind you that the installer was provided by Petro. As a result, I will have to pay for a $300 unit every couple of years now because of a poor installation provided by Petro.Thanks!
Stay away from themThey charge more than other oil company per gallon, service plan only good for nothing and if they have to do any work on your boiler they will charge you, when you cancel you contract for any reason they will charge you cancellation fee $600 or $400 depends you plan, I had been with them for 3 years and they don’t treat me like loyal customer, stay awayAlso if you want to replace your boiler they charge more than any other heating plumber, they want to charge me $14.000 to convert to gas and $7.500 for new oil boiler, be careful with them.
Recently had a water feeder/ boiler problem.Called Petro, my oil service company. Had an excellent experience with prompt service and efficient handling of the issue. Technician 278, Rich Dutton did a wonderful job of assessing the problem quickly and correctly. Took time to make sure everything worked when job was done.Courteous and knowledgeable. Pleased that he explained everything in detail . Such good service is rare these days! Good job!
I could not be more pleased.My home was a little chilly, so I checked my furnace and it was not working. I called the help number and spoke to a very nice person who setup an appointment for a few hours later. A few hours later a technician showed up, also a very nice young man, sorted out my issue. He explained the problem, I signed the tablet and we had heat and hot water again. Fantastic experience from start to finish, I could not be more pleased.
Lou was great. My only negative is it takes take too long both waiting on the phone & waiting for the techs arrival. I called at 11am, took 10 min to get a person (who was very nice) to schedule service. He arrived after 6:30. Glad its done, just a minor fix...just takes too long. Thanks for all you do!
I recently needed service on my older model Navien High Efficiency Heating/Hot Water Unit as it had a error. After coming back twice, Glenn (service technician) suggested trying to order the parts to fix everything. Thankfully, he was able to give us heat, but the hot water was limited. Being an older model, the parts were not readily available. It was suggested to replace the old model with a new one. After speaking with Kim Carney, who was nothing but compassionate and understanding worked with me to be able to obtain a new Navien unit to be replaced. Today, Glenn and Richard came and replaced the unit and I am happy to say we have a full working new Navien. THANK YOU Kim, Glenn and Richard for being so courteous, understanding, kind and making me feel comfortable in my decision to use Petro Home Services.
My appointment was between 3:00 - 6:00, Max the technician arrived around 1:00 stating that he was in the neighborhood, he arrived early. I explained the problem I encountered with the heating system and he immediately knew what needed to be done to complete the job. Max is very knowledgeable in his field, neat and courteous. I will definitely request Max for my heating repairs.
