Fast and good prices. I went in on a Sunday night around 8pm and it was pretty calm. There isnt a lot of seating but I was able to find a spot no problem. I saw a few picnic tables outside too. I was told that on Friday + Saturdays it gets really full and that the line goes out the door!

The spicy deluxe chicken sandwich was INCREDIBLE! I don’t have a picture of the fries and the milkshake. But the fries are the best diner fries I’ve ever had. I recommend the chocolate shake!

Hole in the wall but great cheap burgers. Under $5 gets you a good sized hamburger thats nice a moist from the heavy amount of onions it’s cooked with. Fries are so so.

Live only three minutes away and finally tried it out! Ordered the cali cheeseburger, onion rings and fries. Noticed immediately how clean the place was. The staff are very attentive, kind, and fast. Cute old school diner decor. Food was simple and tasted fresh. Love how they put the onions with the beef. Knowings it’s 24 hours as well is a huge plus for that late night munchies.

Opened since 1957, this tiny place has fantastic fast food 24/7. I like seating by their milkshake bar 1957s setting while having a strawberry shake. We have been told many times now (especially since eating at White Manna) that we had to check out White Rose Hamburgers in Highland Park. This quaint diner style burger place pumps out fast, hot, delicious food 24 hours a day and we want to know why it is so busy and so many people said this is the spot. Time to eat!The employees inside were friendly and helpful. I had a good idea of what my son and I wanted right off the bat anyway, but the man who took the order and the cook were both were nice and courteous. A quick transaction later and we decided to take our food out to one of the outdoor picnic benches. If we hadn’t though, there is a fair amount of seating inside as well all counter top bar style.We decided to go with a couple double cheeseburgers, mozzarella sticks, and cheese fries. I have to say initially, the food looked excellent. The burgers were large, the mozz sticks had a nice fry to them so they weren’t too dark but not pale looking either, and the fries had a ton of cheese sauce on them.Starting with the mozzarella sticks, these were very good. They were hot, crispy, and the cheese was really melty and stretched for days. The only thing that could have possibly rounded these out better was a solid marinara for dipping…and that’s exactly what we got. The sauce had a ton of depth and just a really nice sweet to savory ratio. Paired perfectly with the Mozzarella sticks.The cheese fries were also excellent. The fries were nice and crispy even under the weight of the hefty amount of cheese sauce on them. They definitely stood up to the cheese and the potato flavor was still totally prevalent. My biggest issue with these…was we didn’t have more.For the burgers I got mine as it comes standard (pickles, fried onions, ketchup) and my son got his as plain cheeseburgers. These patties were flattened out to be wide, but they were in no way lacking in beef. The double burger was more than sufficient to fill anyone’s appetite. I love the flavors of the onions, ketchup, and pickles but I’m sure this was tasty as a plain cheeseburger as well. The meat itself tasted almost similar to white castle but these burgers were far superior in quality. Also they had a nice Jersey Kaiser roll as the bun which is something I’ve loved since my youth.All in all a great meal at a really solid price. I’d stop back in here any day of the week. Always worth the stop. In and out faster than stopping at a fast food joint. Food is always piping hot out of the fryer or off the griddle. Would take that any time over cold fries at a big box chain.

My wife took me here. Used to be her favorite place. The service was very quick, too quick. 30 seconds for a burger and fries. The burger meat was terrible. Was like boiled horse meat. The fries were also terrible. Soft, soggy, no seasoning. The bathrooms were appalling. On top of the graffiti, there was no toilet paper. Avoid this place.

A small, old fashioned diner. They have a small menu and delicious burgers just like the original McDonalds run by the McDonalds brothers. (Youll know what Im talking about if youve watched the movie the founder). The only difference is there is no walk up window here. Other than that, this place will remind of you the early days of American fast food. The burgers are good, Philly cheese steak is good, Gyros are awesome, the milkshakes are on point. The only thing I did not like are the fries. Dont buy fries here. Everything else is great. The prices are low.

A classic burger joint that really keeps up with the hype. There is a reason it has been here for a long time. They dont disappoint. Food came out quickly and was everything I asked for. Though there is not much when it comes to seating and it can get crowded easily I would recommend it if you want a great burger and are not looking to dine in.

A central New Jersey renowned burger joint was amazing to grow up with. Always delicious and you will get your full order in less than 5 minutes from ordering. The Cali bacon cheeseburger is the way to go and I hope you enjoy onions! They have the absolute best French fries and milkshakes around. Since the burgers are basically large sliders, you will often find people ordering two burgers for themselves!

Their burgers are juicy and covered with fragrant and soft onions. Its like a White Castle burger on steroids. The fries were hot, crispy, and shift on the inside.If youre looking for a classic burger and fries, look no further.

If you have never had a White Rose Cali burger you absolutely have to try one. Now to be fair typically after midnight this is five stars. At 4:00 in the afternoon it might be a three-star.Being from Jersey a pork rolled egg and cheese for breakfast is the best. Now being health conscious versus a 20-year-old Thats just a high salt high fat egg sandwich.Not necessarily the healthiest food in highland Park. But if you have the munchies or are looking for some comfort food to satisfy assault and fat craving, this is the go-to place.

This place used to be good bacon in the day. The burgers now are soggy with a boiled/steamed taste. Just barely edible. If you want a good “grease pit” old school burger drive to Clark and see White Diamond. Sorry Rose not coming back!

Food was delicious. I ordered the California double cheese burger, cheesy fries and onion rings. Altogether it was extremely delicious and left me with a feeling of satisfaction. The cooks there were also extremely friendly and welcoming. Good to note this place is open 24 hours! Highly recommend for folks looking for their counter burger satisfaction!

(I don’t get onions but my husband does and they are sautéed) This place has that old time burger dive feel. Burger, fries, and a soda... summer time meal in the middle of winter! Their fires are the perfect crispness outside and soft inside. This spot will soon become a staple in your burger hungry days! Their breakfast is delicious too! And yes it is true they are 24 hours!! That late night hunger urge just got its cure!

Dont fall for the hype. The meat is greasy mess... then they give you the worst buns! Its all bread . I cant imagine anything else there is good.Try White Mana burgers .... then try this and tell me white rose is good... It was a nostalgic trip for me since graduating from Rutgers 35 years ago. The double cheeseburger with bacon was mediocre at best. I was better off with good memories.

Stood at the register for 10 minutes with some clown playing with his phone, walking in circles and acting like he didnt see me. CLEARLY they are doing well enough to where they dont have to respect customers or their time and could care less if they run a few off to never return. This place has been steadily declining for a while! Now its just a late-night dealers and dregs

The quality of the food is always great, taste wise. But in my last 3 visit this past month my order has always been missed up or missing something each time. Make sure you check your order before you leave. Especially when ordering over the phone.

Simple, priced right and good

I was really hyped to try this burger as a burger enthusiast. I must say i was rather disappointed when i did. I got the double cali bacon cheese burger, fries, onion rings and mozz sticks. The burger was charged extra because it had mayo which is what makes the cali burger a cali burger. I didnt mind this but some people could be as most places dont charge for mayo. my burger was greasy as i heard this place may be. I dont mind the grease but what i dont like is when something is to greasy that the the bread is soggy. As a result the bottom of the bun fell apart and was mushy and i had to eat my burger with a fork and knife, which makes me sad. the burger it self was grey and bland and oddly fell apart. This was puzzling to me. The burger had zero flavor, no spices/seasoning and the burger fell apart. When i saw that burger was grey i just thought it was a frozen patty, but considering the juice and how the burger fell apart i feel it is ground beef that may have been freezer burnt, which caused the beef to loose flavor but maintain the juice. the bacon was however delicious and tasted fresh but was curled into a ball and thrown onto my burger. The onions rings were solid but tasted the same as burger kings onion rings and lacked seasoning. This leads me to believe its a generic frozen brand from a restaurant depo. The mozzarella sticks followed suit. Super stuff but the cheese didnt ooze out but was fairly hot again suggesting that it was frozen premade mozzarella sticks. The fries on the other hand seasoned well and on point. Overall atleast in terms of a burger joint, not worth going to.

Im not sure where the positive ratings are coming from. Maybe the people in the local area havent had good burgers to compare this to but I can confidently walk into any random burger joint and expect better. Maybe the local and/or jersey standards arent that of NY or other good spots. For jersey people go to 5guys, zinburger, burgerking etc and youll easily find a better burger.Burger was easily 1 star. But prices are reasonable for this level of food and Philly cheesesteak was decent so they earned 2.

Fast, delicious, cheap. Theyll always accommodate customizations to your burgers, and their fries are perfect. They have a classic burger joint vibe and will hand you your order within 5 minutes (even when theres a couple people in line). The milkshakes are thicker like ice cream, but classic and satisfying. My go to is a Cali bacon cheeseburger (with ketchup and extra mayo) and an order of fries.

I brought my daughter here to share an experience from my earlier days living in the area. It had been 20yrs since my last visit and I couldnt have been more excited. In an ever changing world I was thrilled time had not passed here. Their cooked to order cali cheeseburger was a good as it was twenty yrs ago. My personal favorite is their to go fries. The freshly fried gems in a wax bag covered in ketchup is and will always be the best fries I have ever eaten! Thank you White Rose for never disapointing.

Like a werewolf this place goes from good during the day to bad at night. So gotta take 2 stars off for that. A lot of (so far) minor fights happen at night and the 3rd shift manager doesnt seem to care at all.

These guys are running an efficient and safe joint. I feel inclined to write a review though, because not a soul has mentioned the chicken fingers! I get serious fried chicken cravings and the chicken fingers are the best in the land.

I have been a customer at the White Rose since I was a kid in the 80s. They have a great burger and fries, the fries are legendary and served with a little wooden fork. The egg sandwich is great too. Its like a step into the 50s, right down to the Abbot & Costello picture on the wall. Theres a legend that the place hires ex-cons, and one day as I was eating at the counter a Rutgers student blurted out, So, I hear you guys are all ex-cons! A facepalm moment, but I have heard the story they call it The System, as in You Cant beat the System! Im not saying why, but for two years I ate bread from the Bayside Bakery. God Bless Em.

24 hours, the guys working the grill, or the consistent quality food. Could be any of the one reasons we keep coming back. Happy we found this gem.

I dont get how the burger here sells. Its like eating onions with a little beef. I thought Id try it because I dont mind a lil onion in my burger, but this is extreme. Also $2 to add 2 slices of bacon!!! Thats almost half the cost of one onion burger! 😮 maybe the breakfast is good but I wouldnt waste your money on the burger. Also i walked out of there spending $10.59 for an onion, fries, can of soda, and some beef. 😂 $$$

Their fries are crunchy and tasty but their burgers were just okay, average. Meat in my burger fell apart like a sloppy joe, and I’ve noticed meat and onions were combined, munched in together. I honestly feel like their burgers would taste much better and would have better texture if they just use meat and onions separately. Something i do appreciate about this place is that, People here are friendly and quick with orders, i just wish their meat was more authentic, instead of mixing it up with onions.

They have some amazing cali burgers as well as the bacon cheese fries and shrimp popcorn that is out of this world. They people were nice and the service was really quick! I just wished I would have tipped them my first time there, Ill definitely go back there again

Been going here for 20 years, and its still the same burger and fries I remember from high school, I love this spot. Plus its still the same guy behind the counter taking orders. When I was in college, this was one of our late night spots, and it doesnt matter if you go at midnight, for a PEC with SPK for breakfast, or lunch like I did today, the same guy always with a smile as long as you know how to order. I havent been in a couple years and I smiled because seeing him made me feel like the small business is not dead. 2020 aside, you walk in and have an old time diner feel, and dont sleep on the milk shakes here, very good!
