Came to Texas for family and didn’t bring a guitar, I thought I’d be able to find one used easily.Not so much, but this Guitarasaur location in the Painted Tree building was perfect. It was close to me, and when I called Todd answered and told me what he had available. When I got there he had a stool setup for me to try it out and a personality that made me want to stay. Look forward to checking out his other location and spending some time there. He has strings and essentials here as well as guitars at this location.

Hi Yall,This seller is located inside of the Painted Tree shops. Its a small store. There are several Ukuleles and Guitars available for sale. I think the prices are not excessive. They are fairly comparable with Guitar Centers prices. Im a ukulele player and they have low end ukes for cheep and more high end ukes for not so cheep. There are a couple of VERY nice ones too! Daddy likes the nice ones! LOL. One of my favorite stores in the Painted Tree. Take the time to come by and drool all over the instruments. Ummm? No actually dont do that. Just buy the instruments instead... TTFN my friends!

I thought this was a real sized shop and was somewhat disappointed to find only a 10x12 unmanned space with a small handful of guitars and ukes with no amps. See latest photo.

These guys were awesome! I brought a very old guitar in for a restring and nut repair and everything was repaired perfectly. They even polished the acoustic so it looked new. Super professional and polite. Would recommend to a friend.

I went to find a guitar on Saturday. I had already focused in on Guitarasaur based on Google reviews. Walked in, and was met by Scarlet. She was very enthusiastic and helpful, and recommended several instruments based on model, maker, price and style. I settle on a nice classical guitar, since I had owned one years ago, and knew I could play different styles on this nice burnished guitar. Scarlet was low-keyed but encouraging, and closed the deal. Just yesterday, I sat down and started to play again, having neglected the guitar for so long - the fingers began to move as if I had put the thing down only months ago instead of decades. Thanks, Im inspired. :)

I love the whole atmosphere at Guitarasaur - the staff is friendly and helpful. Todd (owner) is a great guy who will always assist in finding what you need, and goes the extra mile in doing so. You can come here for all your musical needs - not just guitars. Im a lifetime customer!

Todd at Guitarasaur really goes the extra mile to make sure you find what you need at an affordable price. Its nice to see a local guitar shop that thrives on taking care of its customers. Highly recommend.

Fun guitar shop with a good selection of brands and styles. Great prices too. we signed up for their lesson package and received a $100 credit towards a nice Epiphone Les Paul. The instructors make the lessons fun and the seem to really enjoy teaching.

This is a cool little spot hidden in the very far back corner of Painted Tree. If you want a Ukelele in NRH or HEB this is probably the place to come. There is a shocking lack of Ukelele stores in this area. There are also a bunch of old records here but I grew up in the 90s so I didnt touch these because they bewildering to me.

This place has clearly changed a lot from whatever it once was. It is NOT a guitar store anymore if it ever was one at some point. When i got to the painted tree market place I was directed to a little 10ftx10ft corner in the back of a home decore store where the guitar shop was. There is a selection of like maybe 7-8 budget guitars and some ukes. All i came in for was for some strings, but their selection was VERY limited - Im talking like two gauges of Diaddario phosphor bronze acoustic strings, and a seemingly completely random variety of 5-6 Errnie Ball strings. No pedals, mics, or elctronics at all.Definetly dont come here if you are expecting a real gear selection - youre better driving up to Denton to a real shop. Might be a decent place to check out if you are looking for a cheap first guitar, but the again, youd probabaly still be better off visiting a real guitar store for that too.Edit: To Tod,While I do understand your response, the currently listed photos and description of the shop really need to be updated to represent its current state. As they stand currently, they amount to total false advertisement. Its very frustrating as a customer to drive 20 minutes to a store to find something completely different than what you were reasonably expecting based on whats posted here. I wish you the best of luck in your new location.

Texted a phone number I found in anothe review. Received a call back the next day! I had opted to use another repair shop closer to home and recommended by a friend, but....If I were to choose another shop I would give this one a shot! Thanks for the return call and reaching out!

I absolutely love this place! To date, Ive bought two guitars here over the past couple of years and couldnt be happier with both! Ive been to plenty of other guitar stores, only to find sub-quality units, be pestered by sales people and even pressured into buying something I wasnt ready to purchase. Last time I was in there, the sales gal, Scarlet, let me play darned near each and every acoustic hanging on the walls. I spent ample time with each one of them - some two-plus hours - before I settled on a mighty fine LAG guitar I just couldnt live without. Todd made me a mighty fair deal, even when compared to all the so-called internet deals out there, and I am now playing both of my new guitars daily, one at work and the other back home! Not a shred of buyers remorse here! Dont know what some of the one-star folks might be talking about, but I personally couldnt be more pleased with my entire experience and I am looking forward to my next guitar purchase at Guitarsaur hopefully here the sooner the better! Mik ;~)}

First time walking into this shop we got an Hello. Stood there for a while browsing there selection waiting for one of the two gentlemen to assist us. There was no, may I help you or I will be with you in just a moment. Instead they sat there talking and discussing engines in there car. Thats really music related. My spouse then said, Are we ready to go. Not one of those men said, goodbye, have a nice day. etc. That is horrible customer service. There shop just lost our business and I will not recommend this shop to friends or family member.

Was going to buy a guitar from this store, that has alot of good reviews. I drive all the way from Denton, only to find out no one works here, and a note on the door that says, out for the doctor, might be back at 1:30 for sure so im guessing only one employee on staff, which im guessing is just the owner. BIG WASTE OF TIME. Im going to guitar center and I recommend everyone else do the same.

I went in to sell my gibson les paul studio. the employee was playing on the computer and couldnt be bothered to tear himself away from the computer. I had to come back 3 times just so the owner could determine if it was a legit les paul, finally he offered me 250 bucks and a 100 dollar ibanez i wanted to have something to play till i could replace my guitar. he told me that the studios had gone down in value.i was desperate for money to pay my bills so I agreed. it was not a melody maker 550 dollars, or a smart wood 800 dollars, it was a les paul studio 1200 dollars. granted it was used but i was grossly ripped off. if i wasnt a couple days away from starving i wouldnt have taken the deal.
