The gentleman who runs this not for profit program is always polite and honest. Today he was extremely busy because of the season, but he took the time to verify that he would be able to fix our bicycle. He warned us that it would be a couple of weeks (his turn around is usually less than one) before he could get to it but said he would do his best to get it back to us as quickly as he could. Considering how shorthanded everyone is now we are appreciative of his effort!
The folks here are the best! They are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have refurbished a thrift store bike for us and my daughter just got a new-to-her cruiser which she loves! They also do great things for the community like their adopt-a-bike program for people in need. I feel lucky to have them in my community.
Mike and the folks at WashCo Bikes have gone above and beyond in getting me tuned up, geared up and versed in some mechanical know-how for an extended bike tour this summer. They have been professional, resourceful, kind and committed. They are truly there to serve the community, love all things bikes and will go out of there way to help however they can. Highly recommend!
We found a nice used bike for my son at a great price. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is not a huge shop, so they do not necessarily have everything you might possibly want, but they had exactly what we needed.
Great folks working there. Completed my bike repair faster than expected. Thank you.
Took great care of me. Fixed a bearing problem and purchased a Yakima swing away bike rack for a more than reasonable price. They were helpful and friendly.
My new favorite bike shop! The staff were friendly, helpful and showed a genuine interest in helping us find what we needed. I loved the mix of new and used items to meet our biking needs!
I gave one star only because there is no option for giving zero stars. I just went to get front wheel fender fixed on my brand new bike but when I picked up the bike, the brake was not working which was working fine before. When I asked them, they said it’s because of the fender. If you cannot fix something properly, please try not to damage other perfectly working parts and then ask for extra money to fix that damage.
A small, local non-profit bike community place that provides inexpensive yet good repairs and tuneups, as well as having several classes and clinics to help get people riding! Well worth your support!
Bought a couple used bikes at a fair price. Employees seemed knowledgeable and friendly. Recommend!
Great deals. Awesome staff, super respectful and helpful.
I needed to purchase pedals for my road bike projects (see images) and stopped by this fantastic Bike Shop in Downtown Hillsboro on May 16, 2019. I had not visited for over a year and was impressed by the new floor plan and great displays of new / used merchandise. Mike P. helped me find a great deal on pedals. Best Bike Shop in Washington County - Friendly and Highly Skilled Staff plus great selection of bikes and accessories. Highly Recommend to All. *****TEN STARS*****
Very helpful staff. They can help you even if youre not really sure of what you want. Good selection of bikes and accessories. They rebuild and refurbish used bikes to an almost like new condition, but prices are much lower than brand new.
I had a minor problem with my bike and they fixed it on the spot, then aired up my tires, and put the bike in my vehicle. They were very knowledgeable and personable. I definitely will be returning to them!
Have a 51 year old bike that no Portland repair shop was interested in fixing, but these folks took it on and did a great jobBless you
I have been taking my bikes to WashCo bikes for over two years. The have done all my upgrades and basic maintenance. Mike and the staff are great people.
Someone donated my daughters stolen bike and when i brought the papers in they gave it back! Super awesome guys, very knowledgeable and kind. Would recommend to everyone!!
Wonderful customer service, friendly staff. Willing to work with folks. Highly recommend!
Awful, confusing, and not helpful. I went in needing a new front derailleur and was shown a bin of used derailleurs but wasnt given any guidance or suggestion on what to find but they did give me a tool. in 5 minutes I was later told that I wasnt supposed to be wrenching on anything even though they in fact gave me a tool to see if something fit. I told them I was leaving because I couldnt find anything that fit and nobody offered to find something for me, show me what I should be looking for, nor did they offer to order the part for me and install it. I felt like I was just ushered out the door and yelled at and confused. I went to REI They took a look at my bike told me exactly the part that I needed and that I could order it online and bring it to them or I could just install it myself. Moral of the story just go to REI
All round GREAT place for bicycles and accessories...First off. I like that the staff fit you to a bicycle and ask about your planned usage...I got a awesome deal on a BRAND NEW bicycle that was a corporate donation. Along with a new $20 bike helmet. They had a large selection of NEW bike helmets donated by Doernbecher Childrens hospital...I highly recommend supporting this local non profit...
In picking up my new bike after having it put together I noticed that the handlebars were crooked and loose. When asking Mike to fix it he got offended and kicked me out of the store. No customer should be treated in that way whatsoever. Once home I noticed the wheels would not turn freely, most likely it appears as the brakes are tightened up against the wheels and not adjusted, I would have detected this at the shop had I been allowed to test out the bike before be asked to leave. At this point I would like my money back so I can it in proper working order and with staff that will treat me as customer should be.
Good man got my spoke replaced quick for a reasonable price.
I want to spotlight our local downtown Hillsboro bike shop. Yesterday they helped me with a last-minute chain fix, and I ended up leaving with an extra bike (oops!) Mike helped me find the perfect fit and I couldnt resist after a test ride. All for a fair price. Mike, Dirk and the other staff are knowledgeable and always working hard. They truly care about getting our community on cycles. Ive bought several used bikes from them for myself and my kids. They dont sell new bikes but they have a great used selection and I trust the work they do before selling. They carry a selection of new accessories if you need a lock, helmet, pump, rack, mirrors, grips, tape, etc. This place is what community is all about. They also have bike raffles!!!! Mask up, grab a coffee or tea from Decadent Creations nextdoor, pop in, and maybe win yourself a bike!
Im so glad I made a last-minute decision to stop by this bike shop. I ended up with a bike and all the gear I needed in under 15 minutes. Mike is the epitome of high-quality customer service, super friendly, personable and helped me pick out the perfect bike.
I took my 1983 schwinn predator to them to have a freewheel laced to the original rear rim. Because the coaster brake didnt work and Id rather have a freewheel on the vintage original rim. The sales guy said no problem and the mechanic called me and also said no problem. Then I show up and they replaced both of my vintage rims with some modern rims. I got my vintage parts back also. But not the work I wanted done. As a fan of bmx and the moderator of a Facebook group with 8k members I will share my experiences. Not coming back
I have never been more satisfied with a bike store. They are always getting me deals, and repairing my bike for cheap. Mike is the best customer service man that I have ever found.Their services are cheep and have great options of parts! Would recommend!!!
I was really pleasantly surprised by my entire experience here. When a repair turned out to be way over my head Mike and crew were happy to help me right away. Staff were kind enough to fix up several other small issues completely unbeknownst to me and now my daily ride to work is smoother than ever. Looking forward to coming here for my future repairs.
Im disabled and just bought a bike that was mostly assembled from the factory. But just to be safe I wanted to get it tuned and tested. So a friend referred me to this shop, and both Jared and Mike were very professional and a delight to be around. Jared tuned my bike (which was a complete disaster from the factory) and tested it thoroughly. He must have tweaked every screw, nut, and bolt on it! Then he took it for a test ride. Im extremely happy with the service that I received, for a very reasonable price. I will be referring these guys to all my friends, and Ill definitely be bringing them more business from my family. A++
This bike shop is better than Banks bike shop and its worth the trip all the way over here. Timely repair items put on there if you buy them there. Good customer service.... just find parking on the street, wear a mask and then two customers in shop at a time
Mike and Dirk are awesome! I got the used wheel I needed at a better than internet price and friendly guidance for my hand me down commuter bicycle, and spokes at $1 a piece! Way better than buying 20 and using only 3! Were spoiled here in Hillsboro, unbeatable prices and help. This non-profit community bike project worked for me! Thanks!
Absolutely a great experience, I changed my daughters rear bike tire and her chain kept coming off despite me tightening it a few times, So we went down to to WashCo Bikes. They took care of the issue at no charge! The Girl took time to talk to my daughter about her school. Such a great place. I will be taking my bike for its tune up. Thank you.
I LOVED this place because of the kindness and great customer service that Mike showed me when I stopped by, even after closing time! They carry very well-priced items such as tools and parts, right in the heart of Hillsboro. If I have any other bike needs in the future, Ill be sure to visit them first before anyone else! You just dont get friendly service like this anymore!
I just purchased a bike from here a couple of weeks ago. I havent ridden a bike in decades and needed something for casual afternoon rides with my son. They have a decent selection of used bikes, from cruisers to road bikes to mountain bikes to kids bikes. The gentlemen who work there were so helpful and I was able to not only get a fantastic bike for a great price, but also a bike rack for my car. They helped me install the rack, load my bike and I was on my way in no time.
Great customer serviceThanks for helping my kid find her first bike
One of the best consumer service I’ve yet to experience.I went in one day to look at a potential commuter bike. Mike one of the sales associates greeted me with gratitude. Even though he knew I was not purchasing, he showed me a few option and also informed me as to how the shop receives donated bikes that are then fixed and resold.I had an awesome 70’s bike in mind with a beautiful paint. Could not make the purchase right away, but he placed it on hold for me for a couple of weeks. He then gave me an awesome deal I did not think twice. He also went out of his way to keep the shop open a bit later than usual just to take care of me!He also took his time to give me a 101 lesson on bikes. Will continue to do business with this establishment, not only local, but super friendly staff.I would fully recommend!
Friendly & fast. Support your community bike shop!
This place Rocks! Theyve helped me with a lot,I wish I could do more for them,
I have only gotten repair items from them so far. Decent selection, low prices, knowledgeable and passionate staff. Support your local LBS!
Oh my! These guys and gals are always so helpful, and super inexpensive for parts and repairs. They are a real gift to our community!
Best prices and friendly staff!
I am not able to give 0 stars for rude, curt, dont care for your visit. Looking to buy a bike today, when we made it to the door a guy yelled from inside we are closed come back another day. I thought a little friendly Welcome, sorry for the inconvenience, but we are closing early. Could you come tomorrow? we open at... NONE Of that, So I thought well I can be friendly and I asked the young kid that I am sure is just an employee that does not care, are you guys the ones that were on 4th? He replied I dont know, and dont care...we are closed come back tomorrow. I will not come back. I will take my business else where. I hope he does not last much working there. I hope this store owner realizes he looses business thanks to this attitude.
Came in here on a whim an hour before closing and just so happened to find a bike I loved. They stayed 20 minutes late to switch out the tires and add a rack. All of the staff were super attentive and kind. The owner took a moment to introduce himself and talk about the awesome programs they have for kids in the community. Overall, I love my new to me bike and am so happy this place is here!
Horrible. Nothing in the store, unclean walls and floors. The bikes that were there looked old and used, unclean. Staff insisted customers to wear a mask but failed to wear their own.
Great Covid shopping experience. Nice employees.
Great experience! Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! Nice bikes too!
-Community-based-Budget-friendly-Knowledgeable and reliable-Good serviceIf you have any questions about your bike, looking to get it fixed up, or looking for advice, this is your place. Centered on helping out the community and bringing alternative transportation to Hillsboro, this place works with you, your budget, and your schedule. Tim put in a lot of work to fix up my bike and made sure that I was able to afford the repairs. Would recommend 11/10!
Thanks to WashCo Bikes our whole family is ready to ride this Spring. We went in to do a safety check for my daughters bike and my husband found a great bike at a reasonable price for himself.Three weeks later we were walking by and they happen to have an adult tricycle! Ive always wanted one and this one had a basket on the back- just the right size for our dogs to join us all on a bike ride. We are ready to hit the trails thanks to WashCo Bikes!
I was so glad that it is operated in such a professional and curtious manner. I will be returning soon and tell all my friends to go there
Went in to get a new chain and a couple other things for my bike so that I could use it at college and the staff were incredibly helpful. They went through each thing I might need but weren’t trying to upsell anything. I was surprised by how little time it took to get everything I needed to get my bike back in working order and the prices were really reasonable too.
I just went in to WashCo bikes and I can’t say enough good things about this place and the people who work there! Mike helped me and was extremely informational and helpful. I got a nice bike for $180 which is a steal! They even said that they’d put new wraps on it for me at no charge since the wraps were worn. I’ll definitely be back when I decide to upgrade to a bike for longer distances once I get warmed up at shorter distances on my current bike. Thanks, WashCo!Update: the shop told me they won’t return my money for my down payment and said at theia point it’s a donation. SO UPSET!
They stole my training wheels when I brought them in to be put on and replaced them with a much cheaper version that bent the first time my son rode them. They lied and said they were the wrong size and they decided to trade them. We measured the bike. They were not the wrong size.I also took my bike for a tune up and they literally did nothing to my bike and called me and told me it was done. They not only said they did the work but that it cost $30 more than what they quoted me. The bike was unridable. I wasn’t able to leave with my bike because the tire (which they said they replaced) was flat. They are scammers. Do not take your bike here!
Went in cause friends got me a gift of repairs to my work commuter bike. They not only didnt do them, but charged my friends for it anyway. When my derailer went thru my back tire they did not want to make it right but did it anyway. Put on used parts that are worse then the one that broke. I am left walking 2hrs to work in the middle of the night cause the gears are all messed up and the chain keeps slipping. I was almost hit by a car. I will wait until I can afford a real bike shop.
Look for good quality cheap used & new bike parts & accessories this is your place.
A much-needed excellent bike shop that is also excited to teach repairs to volunteers. Amazing rates and best of all a nonprofit serving the community. Sits right next to the Antique shop and the decadent Creations Bakery.Amazing service and repair. 5 out of 5 would come here again.
I love this store and they do great tune-ups! But could they have picked a more HIDEOUS color to paint the building? It makes my eyes bleed. This isnt the Caribbean islands, its Hillsboro. Yikes!
Great place to buy a bike. Unique stock of bikes and a good value. I’d trust them to fix my bike. The staff are friendly and helpful too.
Really knowledgeable staff, friendly and you will definitely leave there satisfied.. I know I did
They are super efficient and charge nominal! I dont feel like they need me to support them as they are awesome
This was an amazing bike shop!! I will definitely come back and I recommend this place to anyone. Great people and environment
Excellent service and advice to my bike upgrade questions. Excellent work. Quick turnaround on stem replacement but I was in just before the sunny weather. Good reconditioned used bikes too. I highly recommend BTC.
The guys are nice service was outstanding and repair prices are super affordable
Great guys, great customer service and great prices. If you are looking for a bike, I recommend starting here. They refurbish older bikes thus providing a quality product for very reasonable prices. Give them a call and see if they have what you are looking for.
I really needed a bike and they had such a great selection of bikes to purchase here for a daily commute to work. Will worked with me extensively to make sure I found the perfect bike and now I feel really good about my purchase. Definitely check them out!
I recently needed a chain put on my new bike and they did it for a good price and were super helpful!highly recommend!
Very helpful and kind people. I got a bicycle there today and the gentlemen at the shop were the best. Absolutely stoked with my new bike - much appreciated!
Super helpful, great place to donate bikes
My son and I went in this morning to get his bike fixed. Come to find out his frame was bent real bad unsafe to ride. So we purchased a repurposed bike they cut him a really awesome deal love this place.
Super friendly staff and GREAT prices! you can’t beat the service and they have super affordable used gear at amazing quality
A locally owned and managed non-profit and community bike shop where I have purchased 3 bicycles for my nieces over the past few years. I support recycling, locally owned stores, and helping children in need so I feel confident that Im doing all of these when I support this organization. Service is generally quick and costs are discussed up front as to ensure there are no surprises. Would definitely recommend this place.
Helpful staff. Fair prices for used bikes in good shape, well repaired. Lots of parts available for DIY repairs, too. If you need a bike, check this place out.
Fantastic customer service, very friendly people, went the extra mile to help me when i came in. I will make it a point to come here for all my bike and skate needs
Best prices and very helpful
Very knowledgeable and efficient. Customer service on a bike repair was quick and affordable.
Great service and excellent prices. They fixed the problem when I was expecting to replace the parts. If you own a bike you need these folks.
Very helpful staff. I found the right tools for the job and even got some helpful tips and advice!
I called these guys on a Sunday, there closed on Sunday. These guys are awesome, Will Called me back on that very same Sunday and provided an extremely cost effective estimate for my minor repairs. I was impressed with the extra effort. Im taking my bike there on Monday. I very much recommend WashCo BTC, Located at: 137 NE 3rd Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97124. I have used these guys in the past and will contenue to do so. Impressive service.
Everyone who works here is very friendly and helpful.
They give back to the community with whatever is bike related. highly recommend going there for random parts, first bikes, or just to check the place out.
Rude misleading unprofessional.
They were super sweet and everything is well priced!
This place is simply the best! Staff is friendly, very knowledgable, and able the think outside the box when in need. I went in needing a new derailer hanger thinking I would have to order one and wait weeks but their bike part selection is so diverse, I was able to find the one I needed! Their bike selection is ample with a quick turn over. I dont just go in for repairs; its a nice place to window shop too. Prices are the cheapest Ive seen beside the occasional craigslist scam. Only suggestion - they would move to a larger location so there would be more room for walk-in self repairs.
The guys working there were knowledgeable and the prices were good.
Theyve helped me out a couple times now.
We got a really nice bike for a great price.
Not friendly, also unable to complete a basic repair. Brought a wheel in to be adjusted. They were short with information, did not look closely at the repair, but said they could do it easily. They could not do it at all, which they may have known had they bothered to look when I first came in, and they did not call me back to tell me they werent going to fix it (I had to call them to find out that they couldnt fix what they said they could fix). Dont bother with this place.
Great service, knowledgeable workers, too small of a shop, great prices!
Friendly, helpful, awesome! Felt part of a community when I cam here for advice and tools :)
Knowledgeable, kind staff. Good selection of used kids bikes.
The short version is:I took a bike in that was fully functional when I left it and came back to a bike with chopped cables, non-functioning shifters, a seat raised 6 inches higher and a shredded front tire and that is no longer rideable. The details are:I took my ‘93 Specialized Epic there for a tune; particularly to see if the brifters (old school combo brakes/shifters) were still functional. The guy hooked it up to the maintenance rack and grabbed his can of spray lubricant and shot a few blasts into the cables and had the chain clicking down the sprockets in a minute (literally). So, we talked about the rest of the tune-up and price, etc and i left it with him.Flash forward about a week:I go back to check on it and there’s different guy now who tells me he had to take the cables off to *really* get it lubed. ONLY NOW IT’S BROKE BEYOND REPAIR!!! He didn’t disassemble the brifters to remove the cables tho. He roughly chopped them off at their insertion point into the shifters. So, he tells me *now* I need new brifters, and therefore new handlebar tape, new cables, new this, new that AND a new tire because he obviously (the seat was raised really high cuz he’s a tall guy) took it out for a ride, apparently with the front tire deflated, because now what was a pinhole of air leaking from a bad tube turned into a totally shredded on the rim front tire! And he says what was about a hundred dollar estimated tune-up is now going to cost me 250 dollars!!!This is ludicrous! I brought in a stock, all original, fully functional road bike and came back to a dismembered unrideable disaster.I had talked to the guy (2nd guy. Tall guy, not the original) on the phone the night before (Thursday, same day of my return visit) and told him I’d be in Friday when they opened to get my bike and for him to do nothing_else_to_it. Of course he wasn’t there when I came. Two other guys were but they had no idea of this situation, where the bike was and no note explaining any of it, or that I’d be picking the bike up. But the guy who finally found it on the wall rack in total disrepair (and he was looking at baffled in disbelief of it’s condition) just gave it to me and charged me nothing and said *obviously* there was a huge lack of communication from them to me.Ya think?!?
Over priced, dishonest, incapable of proper repair. I had to take my bike to a quality shop who repaired what they couldnt yet over charged me. I would not give them a stare if i didnt have to.
Will worked on my new electric bike and did a fabulous job. He knows what hes doing and quite friendly.
Great place of business! Very friendly staff!
Decent service, since its a NPO prices are really low. way to go guys!!
Really awesome, nice, and amazing people
Tune up did wonders for my used bike. Shifts and rolls like butter!
Overall repairs are done like someone doesnt care about your bicycle or they just tried to fix it with no luck. They are selling bikes that are 20 years old for full price, they are not collector or Vintage either
Everyone is vary helpful
Excellent SERVICE ?
