This place is amazing! A friend told us about it and WOW! They have so much, even whole rabbit. We really loved the veal chops, feta chicken sausage and steaks we bought. Didn’t love the Mediterranean lamb sausage. Delightful other purchases includes seasonings and some awesome wine selections! We brought a cooler and filled it up; worth the drive out to this place!

The prices are fair for the quality and quantity of food.One of my favorites is the Original Breakfast Burrito 🌯 ($11) which is enough for a large person, hopefully you can finish it! Something I learned about these burritos: Ask for a bit of the chorizo gravy on the side and dip the burrito it in! 🤤Another favorite is the BBQ Pulled Pork 🍖 ($13 with chips, $8 by itself) and you may pair it with small side of Gouda Mac Salad 🤤 for $5. This is the type of salads I like to eat.If you want to go to the “light” side, try the Turkey 🦃 Bacon 🥓 Avocado 🥑 Sandwich ($8.50, $14 for a meal). Love The Meating Place. Been coming here since the opened it and am impressed everytime I go in. They have now grown and rightfully so. They only offer high quality meats, fish, chicken and oh yeah their beef Jerky is the best EVER.They may seem expensive but you know where your food is coming from and how it is treated. It is quality that just cannot be beat.Not only to they have meat, chicken, duck and pork to name a few. They have Elk, Elk sausages, tons of different sausage, beef jerky, twice baked potatoes, frozen dog food, sauces, spices rubs. The list could go on and on.Their dog food is incredibly and the dogs really enjoy it. Thank you Meating Place for offering such an incredible product and tons of selection. The last two times Ive been to this store theres been animals in the store, the first time the manager said he would take care of it and hold a meeting immediately as there is no animals allowed, the second time, the employees were very rude to us about it and they didnt do anything, we will never be back.

I subbed cooked spinach for swiss. Best Patty melt Ive ever had. Vet prepared raw dog food $4 a lb. No one can beat that. Worth the ten mile drive.

Great meat selection.I got 3 regular rib eyes, 4 of each pepperoni sticks, 2 of each sausage and loaded backed potatoes to try since it was my first time there.The steaks were great. I panned seared them. The sausages extremely salty. I love salt but this was the first time that it turned me off besides the great taste. The pepperoni sticks were nothing special, I personally had better sticks around the area at other butchers. The loaded backed potatoes were as salty as the sausages, too bad because the taste was amazing.

Holy yum. How have we never been in here before! We had the chorizo burrito, turkey bacon club, grilled cheese and a side of the chili Mac salad. We had to stop halfway through the portions are generous. Cant wait to come back and try the burgers.

Very high quality product for a good price. Your are ably to get exactly what you want and even custom cuts of meat, cut and parts you want find at other places and hole hogs for proper BBQs.

After getting a fantastic steak from the butcher shop, I just knew that I had to come back to the cafe for a meal. Just went in for breakfast and definitely was not disappointed! Had the original breakfast burrito. Super delicious with a fantastic homemade salsa that was like nothing I had ever eaten before. The large chunks of tomato were so sweet and were a fantastic counterpoint to the fatty goodness of the burrito. Highly recommended!

Clean, organized, and so much fun - so many spices, salts, etc., different dog treats that my dog actually liked and such friendly knowledgeable staff!

A butcher shop with a cafe? Aw heck yeah!We had the steak sandwich special, the turkey bacon avocado, and the macaroni salad. Delicious! These sandwiches did not disappoint: the special was amazing, the steak was perfect and the bread wasnt chewy or too crunchy, the tba was heavenly, maybe a smidge too much honey but it didnt take away from the sammy as a whole. Were going to be back just for the complex and comforting mac salad, it stole the show.Well probably just try everything, eventually. Dine in or order out, theyre ready. We stood in front of the prep window with our 18mo old watching the staff make everything; the staff were very focused on their jobs, seemed to work well together, following all applicable guidelines (if thats important to you), and still made time to wave at little dude. Well be back, a lot!

This is a carnivore candy store. This is where to get steaks, including Wagyu, grass-fed, and dry-aged beef. Despite all the fancier cuts, I like to get massive 16oz sirloins here that I can cook on my outdoor griddle in one piece. Despite being a lesser cut than a New York or ribeye, their sirloins are thick, quality cuts that are meaty deliciousness. They have a full selection of other meats as well, and I especially like their Italian sausage for my spaghetti and meatballs recipe.Parking is ample, the store is sparkling clean, the staff is professional and attentive. Covid measures enforced.This isnt a discount store, but if youre here youre after quality or something special (like giant sirloins). Just the same, I felt the cost is competitive with places like Costco, where you can also get quality steaks like USDA Prime cuts.

If you havent been, go! They have the best customer service and meat. We always get the filets, wagu new Yorks and rasher bacon for eggs Benedict on Sundays, so yummy. Now if I could just get them to bring back their delmonico ;-)

The people that work there are highly attentive to our customers, which customer service comes first. As a new employee, I appreciated the attention and help from the rest of the staff on my first day! I noticed how well everyone worked together for the best experience for the customer. This place is a well oiled machine! It is also strictly adhering to covid cleanliness. Come check it out! You wont be disappointed.

In the not so distant past, meating place was reliable for high quality meat that you could serve to guests with confidence. Spendy, yes. But reliable. Now, ya gotta watch what you’re getting because some of the staff there think you are thrilled to pay $20 for a New York that’s nothing but fat and gristle. Or $9 a pound for ground round with a bunch of tendons and cartilage in it. Not so great. Just be careful and see what it is you’re buying before whipping out your credit card.

Good place to pick up meat. They have lot more then in my photos thats only 1/4, but Google has been annoying me about the place. Since I stop there once a week. They have jerky and pepperoni sticks (quite a few styles). The fresh meat offered is, steaks, chicken, rabbit, elk, pork, etc. Really just go.

We had some custom cutting and wrapping done and I went into the retail store by mistake. Wow, I will definitely be back to check out the retail store offerings. Everything that happened with our custom cutting happened exactly as planned. No surprises

The BTL is an elevated classic! The bacon here is so good! Light on the mayo and just the right amount of Avocado to add a good flavor balance. The Elk burger was a delicious mess. I loved the cheese bun. I could have done without the bacon on it but you know.. bacon IS good.Pickles were sub par and a disappointment when paired with everything else. A bad pickle can almost ruin a lunch, Good thing it was optional.They dont offer Vegitarian meals here. But they will make you something vegetarian if you are crazy. Like you literally have to be crazy to ask a butcher shop called the Meating place, if they have a vegetarian menu.

The quality of everything I have tried here has been the best I can find anywhere locally. Their bacon just might change your life. ;) The sausages are fantastic too, and you have to try the trail mix which is a blend of bits of pepperoni, jerky and gouda. Not cheap, but worth it, and worth the 30-min drive for me.

The best meat place around! A butcher shop with their own cafe right next door serving some delicious elk burgers and Tex Mex Po boy with some tasty smoked beef brisket. Highly recommend for a great American meal. Not a fast food restaurant. Our group loved it.

This was my first time visiting the Meating Place and I like the aura of the shop, its clean and well kept with a large variety of meats and other confections. I tried the regular and Elk pepperoni Sticks, the jerky, and chorizo, typically I am pretty critical of jerkys but I must admit that their jerky has a unique flavor profile and very tasty. I really like the chorizo and would consider this my favorite. I prefer the Elk pepperoni stick over the the regular. I would also give the sticks a thumbs up....I will definitely go back to sample more of the merchandise!

Awesome cafe and butcher shop. Sounds like theyre moving right next door to the old auction building.The Reuben is life changing. Best Ive ever had. The meat just falls apart in your mouth. Your grandpa could eat it without his dentures in. I believe they spread their chipotle aioli in it to add some extra zest.The special of the day was a Philly cheese steak burrito. It looks incredible but turned out underwhelming. The meat was quite dry and not made the traditional way. The salsa was chunky and exquisite. Really saved the ensemble.The venison chili was pretty cool. Nice and thick. Wasnt able to finish it because the portions were so large.At this time the cafe is quite small and crowded. Service was great. They offered samples of the Gouda Mac. I went on a Sunday afternoon and most of the tables were taken. Hopefully theyll have a bigger space for the cafe at the new building.

When you hear that theres a cafe that has burgers and sandwiches, you dont get your hopes up. Theres one of those on every corner.But then, theres a spot like The Meating Place. Sure, its burgers and sandwiches, but the difference is you can taste the care and thought that went into the planning and preparation of each menu item. You still might not care for the flavors (I wasnt in love with the Gouda Mac) but you can tell that there was a good deal of care put into the meal.Come and try something, you wont regret it.

I personally dont shop there for myself as I am vegan. I go there from my dog, I buy their raw dog food that they make there, their local farm eggs & their dehydrated animal parts that are for dogs. Staff there are friendly, helpful & my dog loves their raw dog food, the fresh eggs & dehydrated animal parts as treats. The veggies & berries are what Ive added for a balanced meal.

Very disappointed. When you spend a massive amount of money ($18 per pound) for skewers, you expect them to be amazing. There was a LOT of fat and cartilage. The meat tasted off to where I just threw my plate out. Some of the things Ive gotten from there are really good, but I cant justify the obscene price for being provided mediocre quality at any time.

I consider this business a staple of the community and a place to go for quality beef, pork, chicken and other meat options. They offer custom cuttings and slaughtering for local farmers. Prices are reasonable given the niche they fill.

The Meating Place is the best butcher I have ever been to, bar none. Their thick-cut bacon is nothing less than phenomenal. And I would not think of buying beef elsewhere. There is typically a line to get in, especially on weekends but it is worth the wait.

Almost didnt write this review so they dont get too busy to provide the amazing customer service we experienced. From the mobile slaughter guy they work with to the salt and cut consultation, every step of the way they accommodated all my requests, did an excellent job with our beef, and just generally are a pleasure to do business with. The kids that come out when you go to pickup are all hard working, nice people. The place is very clean, tons of parking, just all around so glad we found this place after moving out to Forest Grove. We are kind of high-maintenance customers and this spicy pepperoni stick I am eating wasnt exactly on the menu and is absolutely perfect without adding a ton of salt!

Never disappointed, everything we have purchased had been top quality and lasted longer than expected. We even started purchasing the raw dog food which is better than what we were ordering online. Love this place!

If one could find meat in Nirvana or Heaven this little shop would be serving it. The meats here are procured from naturally raised animals and or game and it is all simply amazing to eat. We buy meats here for clients events and for our families and they do some amazing things with everything from pork loin to rabbit and all the Steak Cuts that exist! A fine meat experience but to be missed by anyone who loves the best!

I stopped in on Tuesday 8-4-20. Very pleasant atmosphere, incredibly polite and nice employees. I picked up a good size piece of smoked salmon and a couple of chunks of some nice smoky beef jerky. Everything tasted absolutely excellent, paid just over $15. When it comes to meet, the Meating Place is good.I happened to notice that they also offer a knife sharpening service. Way overpriced. $1.50 an inch translates into an knife 8” knife Sharpened for around $12. My usual knife sharpener charges only $4.Get your meat here, get your Knives Sharpened somewhere else.

Everything this store makes is top quality. You couldnt ask for a better butcher shop. Friendly staff, knowledgeable staff, willing to help you out with any question you have. Their meat sticks are amazing and they often carry gluten-free crab cakes!

Its been quite some time since I last visited, and I really like the set up. Its clean, inviting, and nicesly spaced out. The Butcher shop is in the next lot over, so it makes it easier to park at the cafe. I really love what they have done with the expansion.

Had my deer processed here this month and was really surprised. Appeared to have really clean facilities for processing game. Summer Sausage is very good. They state you get your own animal back which I like.

Seriously jaw dropping experience when you walk in. Its like every meat lovers dream. The hardest part is not buying everything.I mean I go there to buy some steaks and I start seeing bacon mixed with ground beef, marinaded carne asada, so many bacons, some other stuff that I dont even know what it is but I want to eat it.Anyway, go there. Spend all your money.

This place is great. The meat is all super high quality, the butchers are friendly and knowledgeable. The cafe is SO GOOD. They have a mobile butcher or you can bring in your hunt for packaging. Could not recommend more highly.

This is a very clean business, and I have enjoyed coming in the past. I have to admit, though, that $8/lb of ground beef and $5/lb of chicken breast is a lot more that Im willingto pay. Im sorry, but this doesnt even begin to compete with buying at grocery stores, especially when people are struggling so much right now.

Best kept secret for every kind of meat you could want... We bought a whole rabbit and whole duck for Christmas Feast, they have elk meat, buffalo, and all the usual meats.
