Uniquely refreshing.Its a large space thats so well organized even non-gamers can easily find what theyre looking for. They also have plenty of unique accessories that I havent seen at the other gaming shops. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they have a gaming space on-premises. I think its the best game shop that Ive ever been in.

Had never heard of this place but decided to drop in, and now I’m a huge fan! The staff is so friendly (and queer-friendly as well, which is REFRESHING), and the selection well-curated, if a little on the smaller side just because of the available space. My solution to that? Just going to give them more money!The play space looks clean and well-organized, I just haven’t hat the opportunity. You can bet I’ll be back many times!

I like this store a lot, Chad has always been very helpful and friendly. He always makes me feel welcome and when I asked a question regarding a rule he answered it authoritatively and without need of looking anything up. He also gave me an answer in a way that didnt make me feel stupid for asking. However I recently went in to sell a few cards and dealt with Nicolas who was not nearly as welcoming. I tried to make some small talk with him and was either ignored or given curt responses. Prices offered for cards are pretty low but it is what it is. I will always go to Rune & Board first but I will not shop there if Nicolas is on the floor.

Super friendly, welcoming, and supportive. I came in for some supplies for a school club I’m starting up, and they even donated some things I was willing to pay for just to help support the next generation of nerds!

Very friendly and helpful staff, but the size and pricing of their board games leaves a little to be desired. They do have a pretty sizable clearance section, but even some of those are more expensive than what youd expect to see online or in some other local shops.

I live in Canada, and wanted to purchase some books to be shipped to a US address. A mildly complicated operation. But one phone call and one Facebook message and it was sorted with pleasant courteous professionalism. Good selection, good prices, excellent customer service. Loads of miniatures and paints for them as well as terrain building materials and other detail work.They also do events (when covid isnt life) and have a good sized area for organized play for wargames, card games, and all other boardgames.

Visited for the first time today. I inquired about pokemon cards and the clerk was really helpful explaining some of the nuances of the game. He even gave me some leftover energy cards that I had been searching for to complete my sons deck. I will be visiting this place whenever my sons pokemon needs arrive. This is the kind of service you look for when first learning a new hobbie.Also they have lots more than pokemon, no video games though, in case you were wondering.

Great paint selection, the best paint selection I have seen from a hobby shop for miniature painting!

It is a nice little local gaming store with all sorts of tabletop games (mostly D&D in the rpg department but others as well). They also have all sorts of miniatures with paint for them and some battle mats as well. Their customer service is also great,they are very helpful and really make the experience that much more nice.

This place is fantastic and I have been coming here every Wednesday for over a year. Really clean and inclusive atmosphere for all types and ages. The owners are accessible and friendly and the staff is top notch. Special mention to Chadd and Jodee who I always see going out of their way to help customers with questions, including recommendations for new players.... or parents looking for fun and appropriate purchases for their families.I have made a lot of close friends through this game store now and its the kind of store a lot of communities would be lucky to have. There are always people playing games or doing hobbies such as painting. Having traveled all over the US for work and seeing a lot of variation in what makes a Friendly Local Game Store (FLGS) this place is top notch!

I love this place. Its small but with a amazing staff and highly curated products. Ever time I go I i end up buying more then I intended and love it. Everything Ive gotten from here Ive love and as long as I continue to live in the area Ill make sure to shop here.

This is a smaller shop, although I understand they are about to expand, so the somewhat cozy quarters for browsing will likely be alleviated. In spite of the current space constraints, the shop seems to be well stocked with plenty of variety to satisfy your gaming needs, including some things Ive only ever seen online.The staff is friendly and there is a strong sense of focus on the gaming community. Their calendar lists plenty of in-shop activities for tabletop gamers of all sorts. Pricing is consistent with most other sources, a little better on some things. Ill definitely be back and Im looking forward to seeing what they do with the expansion.

I love this local game shop. Their selection may be technically smaller than places like Rainy Day, but because of it their selection is so much more curated, and the quality and diversity of the games is really something to look at-I always go here before any other game stores because of it. I love their mystery game boxes too! The staff is always super friendly, knows their stuff, and willing to demo games if needed. I usually go in for DnD supplies and they have all of the standard stuff, and they have a good variety of dice from different brands (including an in house one!) that appeals to the goblin in me. Looking forward to coming here and again and again and again.

The in-store selection is a tad small, but the staff is very willing to place orders, provide recommendations, and otherwise help you find a great game. Plenty of play space. Right by a max stop and good street parking nearby. A quintessential FLGS.

This is the best place to hang out and enjoy some board games and card games west of Portland. The owners are wonderful people, and the staff are polite and friendly.If youre looking for something and the store doesnt have it, they might be able to order it for you and then notify you when it has arrived.

While still going to other stores for other specific hobby needs.Overtime due to the wonderful staff and owner I have shifted all of my hobby purchases here including all of my warhammer 40k needs and even the occasional board game.Hands down the best game shop in the area, and could easily contend with any in the larger portland area.

Friendly staff that are helpful and knowledgeable. I went in to ask about painting miniatures awhile back and got to chat with someone for awhile, be told about an upcoming class and receive a free basic pamphlet about the subject.

Cute little game shop. They dont have a lot of space, but they do well with the space they have. They have RPG, board games, dice, and miniatures up front. They have tables for playing in the back. There is a small bookshelf of board games you can test before you buy.The parking is questionable. The street in front has a train so no parking there. The three spots in back are always taken up. Im not sure if the large parking lot next door is available (the signs point to no). I parked on a side street. They need to negotiate with whoever owns the large parking lot for free parking on evenings & weekends.They are in the process of doubling their square footage into the space next door.

It was a fast and easy pickup since this isn’t the time to be staying around places for very long, but took the back door option and I payed for everything in just a couple minutes and was done. I will come back to this store and I suggest others to come too.

The owners are good people, theres lots of space to play, and the variety of product is solid. Surprisingly decent selection of MtG singles for a newer shop, too. Sometimes you can find something neat on sale, and also check out the drink fridge for occasional interesting additions.

If youre looking for D&D, Warhammer, or board games, youve come to the right place. The store itself is smaller than its competitors, but the service and prices were much better. I believe they host open and private play sessions, although I have not participated.

We tried to set up a time to play a game, we were specific about the time we would want to come in and were told there would be room, no reservations needed. Once we arrived we were told that there was no room ever on that night, its their busiest night of the week where every table is reserved for ongoing games. They need to work on better training and communication it seems.

Everytime I come here they have the most friendly staff and are always so helpful! I was looking for a few things for gifts for my husband but they were out of stock. The staff (I think it was the owner) ordered them for me and then just to be sure they would be here in time, he called the company to check on the date AND to let them know we needed it by a certain day. I love the atmosphere of this place. Its a good mix of casual game shop where you can hang out with your friends and play games and a store with knowledgeable people working there who know there stuff. I play a lot of different tabletop games, card games, board games, and more and the owner of the facility has an equal or potentially even greater depth of knowledge. Everytime I come out to Hillsboro I make a point of stopping in and seeing what new thing is going on here.
