With the crisp air of fall and the ghouls getting ready to come out and play, you just have an inner impulse to come and visit a farm and go pumpkin picking. After reading the reviews on this farm, seeing the market and the variety they offer, my family and I made an easy decision. Pulling into the farm you could start to see the beautiful fall colors and families having a blast. There are so many things this farm has to offer, from great customer service to an abundance of pumpkins and gourds. One of the workers helped us choose mums and even gave us gardening tips, he suggested we dont buy full bloom but instead budding mums, as those would last longer. We walked around and found this cute animal farm, they look so healthy and happy. Many times they can be mistreated but not here, even a goat shook his tail as we talked to him, so cute. From there we stopped by the selection of pumpkins they offered. They have white pumpkins, orange pumpkins, edible pumpkins and bumpy pumpkins. Im thinking of making a pumpkin pie and soup from scratch with the edible pumpkin. We went into the market and it was difficult not the buy the entire store but I settled for half. We got a walnut apple pie that was so delicious, I was surprised by how good it was. The filling had so much flavor, crust flaky and the most amazing caramel sauce over it. You can taste the love they put in while baking. I will be stopping by again to pick up another pie, the best apple pie I have tasted besides my own. Thats saying a lot as a certified baker myself.
We came here for apple picking. Unfortunately the hail storm wiped out the apples so there was only pumpkin picking. You will have to wait until the next season. The store is still worth visiting. They also have a play area and farm animals for the kids. Plenty of free parking. Their bathroom was in a silver trail outside. Definitely need improvement on the cleanliness for sure. They didn’t have toilet paper in the bathroom either.
One of the oldest farms still around in Northern Jersey, the farm and the farm stand were owned by the Demarest Family for generations. In the last couple of years, the original family sold it to new owners who continue the tradition of farm fresh goodies. Lots of good produce, a nice assortment of jams and pastries (the apple cider donuts are fairly epic). The food is not cheap, but it is good.
Cool farm! The donuts and coffee are pretty good. You need to reserve times online. The parking lot is quite crazy during the season so be careful! Also, you can pick up a pumpkin by the store instead of getting one in the fields as we went midday on a Sunday and there wasn’t a ton of selection in the pumpkin patch.
Very very busy on a Sunday in October. Dont go during October if youre a group of adults. There were lines everywhere and small children everywhere. Picking your own pumpkin wasnt so much a pumpkin patch as already picked pumpkins placed around a small area for you to then choose. I give 4 stars because no one did anything wrong and it was a cute area. My friends and I made the best of a busy day but Id only go back during the week or off season. Its open year round and the apple cider donuts inside were delicious.
Had SO much fun at the Halloween light show last night!! I brought my nieces and they were OBSESSED! We all loved it, the whole experience was honestly perfect. My very hard to please niece has been talking about it nonstop, it was good for both ages and the adults loved it too, we can’t wait to go to the Christmas light show!! The store was open too, so we got there early, grabbed some donuts (AMAZING) and got to enjoy them during the light show! I’m definitely going back this weekend with my boyfriend!! Thank you Demarest Farms for such a fun and different Halloween activity!!!
This place is such a scam! It draws in crowds on the premise of having a petting farm and pumpkin picking. Both were the worst set ups weve ever seen. There are minimal animals, the pumpkin patch was no different than going to a decorated Costco pumpkin sale..and $12 per pumpkin, no matter the size?! Crazy. It was so crowded, dirty and certainly not COVID conscious. Having two babies and not even an area to change a diaper or sit to feed the kids makes absolutely no sense. Its obvious they are just trying to bring in as much money as they can during the holiday and taking advantage of the silly city folks looking to go on a farm. So disappointed! The wooooorst.
I absolutely loved the pumpkin picking. I brought my family. They too - were thrilled. Besides the pumpkin patch we all were like kids and played with the animals in the petting zoo and played on the playground.Of course we then had to go to the farm market and buy apple cider donuts and cider to finish up a wonderful fall day
I have been going to Demarest farms for years and this year had to be the worst pumpkin experience. The place to pick your pumpkin was very small and extremely limited. I paid 50.00 to pick my own pumpkin and after less then a week we got ready to carve it and they were rotton. They had the best pumpkins at the actually farm and left bad ones at the so called pumpkin patch. I will not be spending my money there again.
Love love love Demarest Farms!!! I wish I could leave a higher star review because it is so deserved. My boyfriend and I came for pumpkins and donuts and we were not disappointed. As always, the apple cider donuts were delicious, the pumpkin selection was plenty and the staff was so kind! We’ll definitely be back!!
We used to love coming here. They turned it into a complete nightmare. Any charm it used to have has been replaced by parking lots. What used to be a pleasant hayride has been replaced by a line of cars. Be prepared to wait 40 minutes in youre car just to park after youve driven there! Most of the attractions have been thrown to the weeds so they can park more cars. The few that are left are overflowing with people. Save your money and go somewhere else.
My family and I planned a peaceful, enjoyable day at a nearby farm. Little did we know that it would turn out to be a HORRIBLE DAY!!!Weve been there several times in the past and I have witnessed the staff being rude to other customers but I thought that maybe their staff was just having a bad day @ that time.As soon as we entered with my special needs child in his wheelchair, the cashier already gave my son a DISGUSTED LOOK. I overlooked that because I was busy looking for a shopping cart. Then the same person asked me and my husband what were looking for so we said a shopping cart. With a haughty attitude and tone of voice, she said Its outside. They had them far from the entrance so we didnt see them initially.Still, I tried not to take the RUDENESS personally. We were all wearing our masks for COVID precautions esp. since were very careful with our son. In fact, as a Critical Care nurse, I make sure to have regular check-ups for my whole family to stay healthy. My son has been having teething pain from his 2nd molars coming in so he cant help but drool with his saliva when the teething starts. So because of that, he tried to clear his throat by coughing and we helped him with that. Immediately, the staff yelled at us to go outside due to COVID precautions. I understand that being a nurse so as we were getting ready to go outside, I tried to explain that my son is just teething but we were definitely leaving. Then, the staff came back and yelled at us, saying This is NOT A MEDICAL FACILITY!!! Of course, I knew that but its not just what she said. ITS THE CONDESCENDING WAY THAT SHE SAID IT!!! IT WAS DEFINITELY A DISCRIMINATION AGAINST THE DISABLED!!!There are different ways of saying things and she HANDLED IT VERY RUDELY!!! THERE WAS NO NEED TO ESCALATE THE SITUATION BY SAYING THAT ITS NOT A MEDICAL FACILITY!!!Arent the disabled allowed to enjoy going out ???? This family-owned business is DEFINITELY NOT FAMILY-ORIENTED!!!If you check the REVIEWS from other websites, EVEN BEFORE COVID, many people commented about the RUDE BEHAVIOR OF THEIR STAFF!!!Im definitely NOT COMING BACK and I will tell all my contacts esp. the DISABLED COMMUNITY how DISCRIMINATING THEY ARE!!! HEARTLESS FAMILY BUSINESS!!!!
A decent apple picking experience but could have been betterWe went on 09/19/2021This is in peak apple picking season but there werent really many apples leftYou also have to pay in advance. $7 per person and then $14 per bag so it adds up quick.Parking for apple picking is kind of limited and cramped. You have to wait to get in and then wait to get out when you are leaving since there is only one lane in and out of that area. Was fun once we were actually picking apples but once again there werent that many and there were too many people for how many trees actually had apples on them. So it was somewhat uncomfortable.Overall having to pay ahead of time and then also their site not being super clear on availability of their apples. It gave the experience a bitter taste for me.There are other nicer farms in NJ.
My boyfriend and I came here on 10/17/21. We had a lovely time!! The apple cider donuts were to DIE FOR! Staff was so friendly, we will definitely be coming back next year!
Nice place to enjoy time with kids and family, very large open space to enjoy the outdoors. They have all set up and organized. My only gripe is the small variety of things to do and pick. The vendors are pricey but the food is good. Made it to the fresh roasted corn- it was delicious not to mention the warm apple cider.
The market is wonderful so much to choose from. The light show is a fun family activity for the kids.
Amazing Halloween light show! Cant wait to go back for the Christmas one.
I love pumpkin picking at Demarest Farms! The staff is so kind! The whole process is so organized! Not only is it close to home and convenient, but good it is the perfect day trip for the whole family!
Nice place. One the handful of farms in the area who are great for the fall/winter holiday season. Nice decorations, light shows, and a fun little playground. Gets crowded on the weekends and entering/exiting the parking lot becomes stressful, but not bad considering the location.
Don’t bother apple picking after mid-September. We went twice this season. The first time in early September was decent but the second time at the end of September, trees were picked clean. No decent apples on the trees at all, just the bug infested ones remaining. They had some bins to grab apples but at that point just save yourself the entrance fees and go to a farmers market.
Plenty of pumpkins of all sizes!! Picking a big pumpkin is def worth your money. Make reservations for earlier in the day because it gets very busy. Admission includes a hayride so make sure you do that! The apple cider donuts at the market are amazing!!!!
CHRISTMAS light show drive thru was very well organized. Tour lasts about 25 minutes and the light display is impressive. After the tour you can stop in the shop and get some amazing treats. Big fan of the oatmeal raisin cookie. Also Santa is there for the little ones. You sit on a bench in front of him.
Great fresh produce, their peaches are worth the trip. The Orchard pie is amazing. Home made cider donuts are always fresh, and the not so fresh ones become cider donut based bread pudding. Lots of activities and events. Great place to go. Movie nights, BBQ nights. Great family place.
Extremely unorganized - very small and nothing to do. Went on a day where there were about 300+ children, there were 3 goats, no one to help. Our ticket said it included apple cider and access to a petting farm. Do NOT waste your time or money. Spent a total of 12 min. Dont say you didnt read it.
Skip the Halloween Light Show! It is very short and anti-climactic, there is truly nothing to see. There are simply lights thrown onto trees. The exit is down the same street you enter, so you are simply seeing the back of these lights.
$120 for no apples, a small pumpkin, and 4 miserable kids. Had more fun watching the animals for 5 minutes, than the 2 hours searching for a good apple that wasnt infested. It was a beautiful day at least.
Took my kids here, they had a fantastic time between pumpkin picking, the petting farm, and the hayride. Great place if you’re looking for a fall family outing.
We took the family to the Halloween light show last night.. it was beyond what we expected.. the kids were thrilled with all the different displays and tunnels. But it didnt end there we headed to the farmers market to get some apple cider donuts and picked up pies and cider too. We found out from a very delightful cashier we could make our own smores outside. Well we did just tat, best family fall outing. We will be back for the holiday lights for sure. Thank you demarest farm for a magical experience
Great apple farm but the employees are beyond rude. It’s as if they try to ruin your experience. If you don’t want to work here, just quit. Especially the teenage girls. Disgusting attitude. They should be fired. It’s as if “have an attitude” is on the job requirements. Mind you, my family and I are beyond polite until you push it. They definitely need an attitude check. Will definitely not be returning.
Had a great time at the light show with family and friends! Pumpkin patch was great! Have amazing food and great staff! Would come again!
Great farm stand and pick your own farm close to NYC.
Everyone needs to go see the Halloween light show at Demarest Farm! Such a cool, fun experience with the fam. So organized and so many lights. Better than the light show at PNC arts center.
Cute, fun, lots to do. Hayride too short. Market makes whole foods look like the dollar store. Just cant.
I took my daughter and god daughters here because I saw the pictures and wanted to have this experience for the first time. The apples were good and the place as well, however the super marker of the farm the employee I’m not sure what was her name but while I was walking with my daughter who is 3 years old! She wasn’t wearing a mask, she didn’t want too and it was super hot! She asked me to put it on her and I said she was refusing to wear it, I won’t force my child to put any mask, however she cooperated with it. But the funny thing is adults wasn’t wearing a mask when I told the cashier her answer was “they are vaccinated” ok so how ya know everyone is walking vaccinated when none were asking for vaccination card, I didn’t want to argue because I was with my daughter but that is very wrong! If the law apply to small kids most apply with everyone ! According to the CDC even vaccinated people MOST WERE A MASK! DO better.
So shocked that this exists just 15 minutes from us! Their baked goods are delicious and there are tons of apple tree varieties to choose from. We had a really great time here as a family with young kids. Be aware that the paths are rocky/filled with fallen apples so its a little difficult to navigate with a stroller. I will say that many of the apples had been eaten by caterpillars (I assume) and it was a bit on the pricy side but not too bad. Even so, there were plenty for picking. We will absolutely be back!
We did the Christmas Lights at Demarest Farms. Everything about the actual drive through was great. Took about 20 min and is great for kids. I knocked off 1 star for the wait prior. We bought the 830pm time slot but didnt actually go in until 925.. Its not just them, but why do time slots if you still end up waiting an hour?? This became especially harsh as we had our 22 month old and 5 month old with us! Had we known the wait me we wouldve planned according.
The place is a dump don’t waste your time/ money
I remember coming here with my Dad as a little girl, such great memories! Great place! And remember the beautiful Irish Setters that ran around!!!
We were coming here for past 5 years, but this year peaches are bug infested and not sweet. Everything has been eaten by insects or is still not ripe. No hayrides anymore. They do have goats and bunnies kids can see, and a playground. But it was a big dissapointment for peach picking.
Love Demarest Farms produce, pies, apple cider doughnuts and seasonal events! The Thursday night BBQ was great...good food and entertainment. Fun evening.
WOW! We (3 people) arrived today 10/23/21 for pumpkin picking. Ok, 1st upon arrival you are charged $7.00 p/person to park on the property. Thats ridiculous, what ever happened to a flat fee to park the CAR OR FREE. 2nd, Then its $12.00 p/pumpkin any size even if its 2lb pumpkin can cost you $12. WOW, talk about prize gouging!! 3rd, we go to their Market to buy some goodies.. So, just to give you an example, Apple Cidar donuts were $12.00 p/doz. Be prepared to pay through the nose!! No bargains here.
Awesomeness! Delicious prepared foods hot and cold, sandwiches, salads, olives, baked goods and more! LOCAL EVERYTHING!!! With an impressive selection. Honorable mention goes to the endless fruit preserve options in a addition to the spreads. The staff is wonderful, polite and extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Make sure to visit the the nursery for beautiful florals to compliment indoor and outdoors. Pumpkins, apples, and hayrides are available for the kids. Great weekend dates for the family! One of my favorite places in Bergen County!!
If only there is an option for a zero star, I would have chosen it. I am a appalled by the treatment my friend and her son with special needs received at a recent visit at Demarest Farm. I used to shop there and the first time I noticed unwelcoming looks and unfriendly face when I check out. I thought maybe they were just having a bad day. The second time I went there, again I received the cold shoulder treatment. I know racial discrimination when I see it and feel it and it is unacceptable, but discrimination against the disabled is SINFUL! Whoever is running that place should be ashamed!! 🤬👎🏼👎🏼
Overpriced! Overcrowded! Understaffed! Unfortunate waste of time and money! This is the third year we have gone either apple picking of pumpkin picking at this farm. The first experience, back when they were a simple mom and pop farm was great. They had a hayride and the pumpkin patch was huge. Back then the crowds were manageable. The second experience was unpleasant as the apples were far from ripe… and the abandoned the hayride because of “covid”. Seeing as it is outside, covid is a lame excuse to get ride of a key attraction. This year, they promised small pockets of admission to avoid over crowding… hahah. When we arrived there must have been 100 + cars and people everywhere. They significantly downsized their pumpkin patch to accommodate a much larger parking lot. The reality here is this farm got greedy as all hell and dropped quality to squeeze more and more people in.Save your money and go to stew lendards. Far better experience and significantly cheaper .Shame on the greedy owners!!!
What a horrible experience today was! Not only are you waiting on line INSIDE your car for about 15-20 mins before you even get to the actual pumpkin patch. They down sized the pumpkin patch to a much smaller size than normal!???? I guess to spread covid purposely????? No hayrides??? And waiting on line for the delicious apple cider donuts was about 45 mins????!!! My family and I have been coming here for YEARS and I am SO disappointed the way they rearranged everything due to “covid safety” which makes absolutely no sense at all! DO NOT even waste your time or money!
Very nice farm and very nice staff and love their donuts and apple cider.
Real nice salad bar. Small, but delicious selection of soup and hot foods.(Not available during covid) Delicious baked goods. Love their home made donuts. Of course they sell delicious, but pricey, local grown fruits and veggies. Good flower selection.Nice outdoor dining. After peaches in August there is apple and pumpkin picking in the fall along with hay rides..
First time visited and the last. Not allowed to shuck the corn, now I know why. Bought 8 ears, for the price should have been a better quality. Half of the corns were rotten. I live 45 min away or I would have taken it back. For being represented from a local farm very unhappy.
This was My family and I 1st time here we didnt know what to expect but we had a great time!!!! Demarest farm parking was a little confusing but we figured it out 2 miles away from the actual farm but theres a yellow bus to bring you back and forth to the farm and to your car! We spent maybe 2-3 hours here and my 2 1/2 year old nephew had a great time running around. The pumpkins are $10 no matter the size u pick! We bought warm donuts and hot coffee from the market. Delicious!! Must go here... we had a great family day at the Demarest family farm!
If I could give it a half star I would. For the price you pay and the amount of time you wait in line, your better off adding 30 minutes to get to a farm that can actually handle the capacity it takes in. Very disappointing
How greedy do you have to be to charge a 2.5 year old $7 to enter pumpkin picking field! Such a shame!
This please is awesome 🍁 great pirices too! Stop giving this place bad reviews people
Great selection of good produce. Courteous help, always a pleasure.
Beautiful store. Has many great products. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed my time there.
The Orchard of Lights is a great holiday experience for the little ones. You line up in the lot next to the building and they they usher groups of cars accross the road to the farm. Entire drive through takes around 25 mins. They created a holiday music playlist which is sent out with some guidelines ahead of your appointment. The road is unpaved, so if you have a very low car you may need to be a bit cautious.
I have been to Demarest before for Apple picking and never had an issue. The experience this year was awful! I went at 11 and it was a nightmare to get in (I bought tickets ahead of time) AND most of the apples were rotten and on the floor. The remaining apples on the trees had holes or black spots on them...so disappointed.
Wonderful family trip
Please be aware when you exchange blue rhino propane tank there that it is full. Make them check it in front of you and show you with a guage that it is full. My husband went there today to exchange to full tank and when he got home realized it was an empty one. He had to make another trip to get it exchanged and the employee there showed no empathy for what happened and insisted it was full as there was a blue cap. Mistakes happen I get it, but their attitude was so cold and rude that I felt I was the one that made the error and she insisted this was the first time this type of mistake happened. I suggested they check the guage before handing over to the customer. All in all I felt very offended. Just a warning that it may happen to anyone. It will be the customers responsibility to check the tank is full.
Showed up today to get some apple cider donuts with the kids, so we decide to go pick some apples and we were turned away. Apparently they claim you have to have an appointment to pick apples this should be first come first served basics its a apple farm ppl I thinks that going overboard so I told the kids age 3 and 1 we cant pick any apples because we dont have appointment to an apple Farm. RIDICULOUS!
I Visited the farm for peach picking. Paid 5 dollars per person for entrance fee, 12 dollars for a bag. However, no peaches were available. It was either gone bad or too small to be picked. Cant believe that they still let in people to pick when theres none to pick. Everyone just wondered around to find one decent peach to pick and it was ridiculus
We had an awesome time! My first time pumpkin picking!! HARD FOR STROLLER, rocks will tear up the wheels! Hard to get parking in the immediate area, (LIMITED PARKING)If you luck up you may catch a break as people leave, not in the cards for me when we got there. I drove a little over 2 miles away with plenty of parking and they provide FREE school buses every few minutes so it was never a long wait! I REALLY APPRECIATED THAT!!UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO THE ROCKS, WHEEL CHAIRS WOULD ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM! $7 per person under 2 FreeThey had plenty of port o potties, which I must say were clean and very little smell! I always carry hand sanitizer but low and behold...They had hand sanitizer installed in them!!!!! WELL DONE!!! LOVED THAT!!Shared this experience with my 2 yr old grandson and 2 of my daughters! What an awesome experience! Nice people, smiles galore! Staff was great, funny and very helpful! Awesome variety of foods! The apple juice was amazing! Cute market, well lit. I found my APPLE BUTTER, Jelly apples and caramel apples! I havent had any since I was a child visiting my grandparents in South Carolina! Great experience, a must for the kiddies and people of all ages! Hayride over to the pumpkin patch! Jungle gym for kids and petting and they sell food to feed the animals! Plenty of areas to take pictures!I am super excited to return for the hayride showcasing the holiday light! It starts on my birthday...November 29th! What a great way to kick start my 54th celebration of life with my family! Im so excited! Thanks for having my family! See ya soon!😁
I was disappointed how their animals were living. Rabbits didn’t had enough feed plus their cages were so filthy and the space they provide for the animals is too narrow.
We visited in the peach picking season. The farm produces in the store is bit pricey. Not much variety of things to do. Has a few sheep for kids feeding. Thats about it. Not worth a revisit
The light show was amazing.
Great place to go and bring the kids for apple picking also has plenty of things for a little children to play on and do everywhere you go had a great time with my two little ones
Went to this farm Demarest Farms,10/06/2018, Because this farm is so spread out is very difficult for anyone with a stroller)I would not recommend for children 1 and 2). Perfect for ages 6 to 14. Also fun for toddlers, 3-5 to child play on the wooden choo choo, pirate ship and little houses. Not fun for the parents due to the smell of the petting zoo. Petting zoo(even thought the pirate ship was down wind of the petting zoo, so it made it very very hard to play there)was good for our son, who is afraid of animals, to learn that animals werent scary, so that was nice. The only problem is that the area around the petting zoo really really smells awful!!!. They should move that play area or the petting zoo and not have those things near each other. However it didnt seem to bother the younger kids or my twin boys(age 4). But it really bothered the age 6 and over that the smell was so bad. It took about an hour for us as adults to get used to it.We went early in the season(so we thought) to avoids the crowds and it was raining, and still very crowded(because so close to NYC).Apple tree area was hard to maneuver, very small trees and lots of apples on the ground to slip on, in the apple tree area and I think apple picking season is more in September because the only apples you could get to were on the tippy top. We made it work because my 4 year old was learning about apple picking in school so wanted to do that.If being close to your car and not feel like your going camping, this is not the fall adventure for Pumpkin/Apple picking. It was so spread out and ridicules that it was so very very annoying. You had to park almost 2 miles away, A school bus picks you up and then drops you off then you have to take a tractor/hay ride(not optional) to the pumpkin patch area, which again was at least a mile away. So when you just want to get there and start your adventure plan another 45 minutes before you can actually do that. So when everyone is leaving from the day spent at this farm, you wait about 20 minutes with very very tired little ones to get on a bus to get to your car. Then because it was raining their was no cover to escape the rain.Overall It was a nice day and we made it work with all the new information that was presented to us but if I knew about the situation about parking and that the farm, that it was not all in one place I would have waited to do this farm when the boys were 6 or 7, or as a new born to just travel with baby in a baby bjorn is fine.Overall the people at the farm were very nice and the farm itself was a fun day, it was just that I wished I knew about the parking/travel/and how spread out everything was so I couldnt have made a choice before heading out to NJ(renting a car)from New York. So the 45 minutes from NY to NJ is not correct, you need to factor in another 45 minutes of bus travel/tractor and parking stuff before you are actually there. Unless you get there right when it opens and you can park in the parking lot, then you day is much much better, with concerns to that aspect. If you have kids, I also recommend your driver dropping you off at the farm and then going to get the car, not having the kids do this whole trip as well.
Small, crowded and overpriced. Horrible experience. Stay away.
Good place for family fun, used to come as a kid for ice cream.
We have been coming here since it was just a roadside stand. Great salad bar, fresh foods, and specialties. Fun in spring, summer, and fall. Pick your own for a fun family outing.
Only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because there isn’t a lot to do for the price we paid, but we did enjoy it so much and my daughter had an amazing experience
Great time with the kids. They had no apples to pick though.
Went for the drive in cinema night. Nice setup, would definitely go for another movie night again if possible!!!
What a delight to be able to Morning walk and have a donuts and coffee here! A Gem of Hillsdale.
We came to pick up peaches 7/18/2020, 9am. The trees had many peaches but they are mostly not ready for picking up, hard and not ripen.
Got amazing apples, apple cider, donuts, and Halloween pasta! Havent picked apples in years.
Not many apples left during apple picking early October
Movie was great.. workers super nice..From check in person, to kids directing cars, to food workers...
It was nice. But please you need cleans restroom.
Overpriced. 12 dollars per pumpkin plus 7 dollars for anyone over 2 years old. So for a family of four taking 2 pumpkins youre paying 52 dollars!!!!!
Went for the Orchard of Lights event today which was impressive, especially for our two year old. The entire tour took just under 30 minutes with the last 10 minutes being a loop jumping back on the same route, but was not boring as the lights and displays were phenomenal. My only gripe is that we were rushed by a couple of young employees who dont seem to understand that you cant drive more than 5mph especially when you have kids in the back seats glued to the windows in awe of what they see. Besides, driving faster than 5mph on the farm is not something I recommend especially for small sedans as it could turn out to be a not so good bumpy ride, especially when your kids are not buckled in.
Outside of actually picking apples on the farm, the operation/ how staff “manages” was a huge turn off. First, we’re technically still in the middle of a pandemic yet several staff were not wearing their masks properly- many wearing masks as a “chin guard” and on the farm many visitors also chose not to wear masks while roaming around- there are signs saying masks “required” but staff do not enforce this rule. You choose a time slot and book with the impression that this will minimize the amount of traffic and people in the farm at one time. But, not so! It literally took at least 35 minutes just to get in and park the car. Once parked, we asked a young man about which apples were where. He seemingly tried to help the best he could but wasn’t sure about some so we went to the stand that said “Apples”. As we approach to ask our questions the woman “greets”with a confused look and what comes across as an unpleasant attitude and she is also wearing her face mask as a “chin guard” and stuffing her face with a sub sandwich like it’s lunchtime- while in the middle of my cousin asking her about what’s what she rudely interrupts to point out that I can’t have my small pocketbook with me and that I have to put in the car etc. We were so thrown off by her abrupt interruption we never found out what we went over there to ask. Annoyed, I went back to put my pocketbook in the car and just took my valuables and bottle of water to walk around with in my hand. By no surprise several people/ families had on large book bags/drawstring bags while they walked through to pick apples. So clearly they choose to “enforce” rules with some and not others. Leaving was another 10-15 minutes as they hold up the traffic leaving for those coming in. Also the bags are $12 each but pretty small in size. These are not large apples so you can still hold about 20-30 “stuffed”.Before booking I would advise visitors to just factor in these aspects to make an informed decision.
Super famiar
Great place extremely friendly staff. Theyre driving movies are awesome.
The whole drive in is filled with signs about mandated masks, yet you get up there and about 75% of the people in the field had no masks on. No one was enforcing it. It was very crowded with large groups not wearing masks. It’s pretty much all teenagers up there who aren’t doing anything to enforce the mask rule. Basically paid $30 for a pumpkin and 5 minutes or time spent on the actual field.
Delicious apple cider donuts and prepared food and seasonal fruit picking/pumpkin patch.
