I had a 65 year old mahogany bedroom set that was in rough shape - all scratched up & completely tarnished handles. Rashidi and his movers picked everything up from my house had it for a few weeks to completely refinish. I couldnt believe it was the same furniture when it was delivered back to my house. It looks BRAND NEW. I didnt even realize that the handles were such a bright gold. There was one handle that was broken and unable to be reattached, and he somehow found a replacement handle that is almost an exact match. There was no way I could have bought a new bedroom set (of this quality or even a cheap set) for the price of having In days of Olde refinish it. I am so happy with my decision to have this set refinished and any furniture that I have refinished in the future will be headed their way.

In Days of Olde is one of the best furniture restoration companies Ive ever dealt with. They do everything by hand with care and pay attention to fine details. They also sell some really great high quality furniture. A great company to work with that I would recommend to anyone.

Rashidi (owner) replied very quickly to my initial e-mail request to refinish 3 antique tables (70+ years old) with gold inlaid leather insets on the table tops. The mahogany tables were very dirty (ie, black) with caked on cigarette nicotine, a thick layer of lacquer on one of the table tops, some scratches on all tables, very tarnished brass handles on all tables and very tarnished brass casters on one of the tables legs. He gave me his cost estimate based on photos I texted to him.When he picked up the tables at my house, he confirmed his cost estimate after examining the tables. He returned the refinished tables to my house in about 4 weeks. They look terrific!! Very nice work at a reasonable price (I priced the work with 4 other furniture refinishing companies).I will definitely use Rashidis company for any fluted furniture Refinishing work.

I stumbled in to In Days of Olde, and the owner, Rashid was so polite and welcoming. They restored my coffee table and they outcome was amazingly beautiful. My family couldn’t believe it was our old coffee table. They do everything by hand and great attention to details. I will be using them for future restorations and I highly recommend them.

They recently refinished three french doors and one panel door. They completed the work in a reasonable amount of time, faster than they estimated. The doors look phenomenal. They are detail oriented and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

In Days of Olde does superb quality work--just look at the Drexel solid walnut night table they refinished. I wish I had a before picture as well--it had severe water damage and bubbles, and looked awful. In Days of Olde went the extra mile, found an extra piece that matched and grafted it into the existing piece, so that it looks like new. Great job!!!

If you visit his workshop in Hillside, he has many treasures waiting to be purchased and refinished to your liking. In my case, I sent him pictures of a set I was interested in purchasing second-hand to see if it would be worth buying and refinishing. His price was reasonable and included picking up the set and delivering it when it was finished. All went as planned and now I have a brand new beautiful dining set. I have an old solid walnut desk which was my fathers and I have used it as my desk since I started to practice law. At that time, I had it refinished. Its now 30 years later and I wanted to refinish it again. The owner, Rashid, is not only a friendly gentleman but he knew all about the desk as soon as he laid his eyes on it. Some of the molding needed replacement and he matched it exactly. He told me it would take about 3 weeks and he called me 3 weeks later when it was ready--right on time. His helpers were careful in handling the desk in and out of my office. Now, I look forward to using the desk for the rest of my career.Thank you Rashid!

In Days of Olde did a wonderful job on repairing and refinishing our dining room table and chairs. They looked brand new. We were so happy with the result and with the way Rashidi, the owner of the business, handled the matter that we then had a secretary, desk and several drum tables re-done. They look absolutely amazing! Rashidi is extremely knowledgeable about repairing and refinishing furniture and can tell you the history of the type of furniture. He takes such pride in his work. The first time we visited his business we were surprised after entering through a simple plain entrance and hallway. But upon entering the showroom we were astonished at the variety and quality of the work which Rashidi and his team had on display. It was like a trip to a fine museum of classic American furniture. Rashidi even gave us a tour of his refinishing shop. He is such a pleasure to deal with and does a wonderful job. I highly recommend In Days of Olde!

Nice people with good products

I had quite a few pieces of English antique furniture that needed to be repaired/restored. Before contracting the work, I asked Rashidi (the owner, I believe) for the names of a few people who used him in the past in order to get a reference. He happily gave me the name and number of several people who recommended this business without reservation. Rashidi is very personable and easy to work with. He came to see all my pieces and then gave me individual costs for each item. I must say I was very surprised on how expensive the cost was but then again, I dont really have anything to compare it to. (I didnt shop around--it was more important to find someone who was good and I could trust.) Rashidi promised my furniture would be like new. I had a dining table, 8 chairs, hutch, sideboard, hall tree, bench, tall secretary and roll top desk all restored. (All oak.) The work was excellent although there were a few blips to get it all up to a high standard. When a piece did have an issue, Rashidi took to back to make sure I was 100% happy.( I wish it was done right from the beginning but hey ho, in the end I was happy with the result.) My only other complaint is when he took the first group of furniture, he said I would have it back in 2 weeks. It was more like pushing 6 weeks and he did not communicate very well with me about that. After I told him I wasnt happy about it, he made sure the second delivery was on time and he kept me posted about the progress...much much better!! He really did work hard to make sure I had a good experience with the second group of furniture. All in all, I would definitely recommend In Days of Olde to you!
