Drove and called all over the low country for a grappling hook with zero luck. Called Southern drawl and they immediately said for gator fishing?. Actually it was to fish a skateboard out of a storm sewer. They were awesome and I can confidently say they are the international experts on skateboard fishing!

Very helpful staff. Great experience. I’m a fishing novice and I wandered in there with my daughter to buy fishing gear, didn’t know what exactly to get. Left a 20 minutes later with rigged poles, bait and all the proper gear to get started. Despite it being busy, staff was patient, friendly and offered helpful advice on getting started. Thank you we will be back for more as needed!

Wish I would of read some of the reviews before I drove across town. I completely agree with the others. The guy behind the counter needs a course on people skills. Hey buddy if you can’t treat customers better than that find something else to do.

Great staff very knowledgeable of the area. Would recommend this shop to any one who is new to the area. There nicest group people we have met since he have moved here. Would not go any other shop. They then out of there way for me. Then other shops just ( IGNORED US.!!! ) thanks for all of your help great people.

I love this place. You walk in and feel like you’re in an old-school tackle shop that has all of the best new gear. Paul is a great resource and you can tell he’s passionate about helping people get on fish. This will continue to be my go-to shop for lowcountry fishing. Highly recommend!

I am a GA resident, have been fishing the coast for years both SC and GA. I go an hour out of my way to get my bait from Southern Drawl. I am in a wheel chair these folks ARE ALWAYS SUPER PROFESSIONAL, always have great quality bait. When no one else has mud minnows or fiddler crabs they have them! Great quality bait and tremendous folks behind the counter.

Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Lots of stuff you might need if you spend time outdoors fishing or boating! Great outdoor gear for ladies. Bait when you need it. Quality equipment!

Great tackle shop and very helpful. The guys were happy to talk about where to go, what to look for and what to use. We took out a boat full of guys and girls and we all got tired of catching fish by the end of the day.

Great selection of artificial lures, rods and reels! I understand covid has hit the supply chain hard this year but Southern Drawl has worked hard to keep the supplies available. I don’t fish bait unless I have chartered customers or family/friends onboard, they have live and frozen shrimp as well as other bait that produces very well. Customer service is always top notch, answering any of my questions or requests. Lastly, their branded hoodies and t-shirts are super comfortable and high quality!

Walked in to SD today for the 5th time without a mask today during this pandemic and a different employee was working. Told me I had to wear a mask to come in. I told him I don’t wear them and that they don’t work anyways. He insisted so I told him good luck living in fear and I’ll buy my tackle at Boathouse where they don’t insist on wearing a mask. I’ve spent over 3 K at SD since the beginning of the year and was in there to spend probably $200. today. I’m a charter captain.

I was excited to get my bait purchase done before getting to Hilton Head. Unfortunately, while asking what live bait they had, the staff member was rude and sarcastic. Had to walk out before my fist found his face! Glad they didnt get my $, hope you skip by them too.

We visited hhi last week and my son had fished all the local places we could and had no luck. Took him to southern drawl and talked to them about bait, locations to fish,and licences. They hooked us up with everything we needed at a great price and he ended up catching a shark and several more fish! Great prices and great people. Highly recommend!!

As a newcomer fisherman to Hilton Head Island, I was referred to this place by some locals and would highly recommend it to anyone else. Their selection is vast BUT what makes this place so great is the customer service. The staff is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the local fishing AND what tackle is needed to fish for them.Your time here will be well spent.
