Great place to get souvenirs, gifts or t-shirts. They also have snacks, drinks and grocery items for people staying in the area. All around friendly store.

So disappointed to find the store completely renovated.None of the original charm.I was told there were structural issues and they had to redo it Ok...I get that but it is now just another store.We always stay in South Beach..have been for 40 years.The first thing the kids always did was run to the General Store ...our Grands loved it too.Nothing special now..So sad!

We always visit the General store when we visit HHI and Sea Pines. The store is great and has a wonderful selection of items. Happy to recommend the store and its staff!

A charming gift and souvenir shop, packed with quality souvenirs. We bought several, and will likely return during our week at Hilton Head. The clerk was friendly and helpful.

The South Beach General Store has a good selection of goods and is conviently located in South Beach. You can find everything you need with out having to leave the area.

Skip this place unless you absolutely need something.I made the mistake of buying a skimboard here. Buying the board was an ordeal in itself. No one at the store was able to sell it to me at first because it was missing the SKU. So the computer has more authority than anyone in the store. This should have been my first clue to avoid this store. After a few phone calls and 15 minutes, two people were finally able to figure out how to ring up the board.After only two uses the board delaminated meaning the layers of plywood began to separate. This should not happen even after years of use. Ive waterskied my entire life and have a 50 year old wood ski that is just now starting to delaminate. So I went to return the defective merchandice. When I tried to return it, the cashier was very rude and even accused me of causing the damage myself to scam them.Aside from that, the prices for everything in the store are at least 50% more than youd pay anywhere else on the island.
