The most unique store Ive ever seen. Owner was great....
Amazing little store with a fantastic selection of beautiful products, including all local products. We wanted to shop local this year for Christmas gifts and we found everything we needed and more! The lady in the shop was so friendly and helpful and very vigilant about mask control which we appreciate! Its important for everyone to feel safe shopping and this store definitely does that.
Was quite excited about visiting this shop last week with a friend who had never been. Lovemt gifts and great service in the past. Told my friend I could order online but wanted to spend locally. Huh! My friend and I were the only ones in shop except for the rude clerk. Never on ce greeted us or offered to help. Then I moved my mask off my nose to breathe a second or two and she promptly told me to pull it up. I explained I had copd and needed a couple of breaths. She proceeded to tell me she had MS and cancer. I thought for a minute then carefully put close to a $100 back in merchandise and headed for door. She couldnt leave it alone as she shouted from 30 or more feet away Its the governors orders. And I replied it was my choice not to shop there and left. Now as none of the time was she nice nor use a nice voice. When I told the owner about this she said it was the town rules and they had to be careful in case an official came in and saw me with no mask. Never did I take my mask off and would not have. However where is Gods name is common sense here. ... ?
Fun place with lots of unique and quality gifts, cards, clothes etc. Good space to spend money on a rainy day.
I had a great experience. The owner was very sweet and took good care of me. I like the selection of merchandise. Great place to shop for gifts. I will definitely be going back!
Southern Charm and Great embroideryClassic Local store with Local OwnerCant go wrong
The woman there was extremely rude to us.I am a fan of the Letters in Hilton head and gave the bluffton one a chance and will never come back ended up leaving what I was going to buy and left.
Such a wonderful store for a baby gift, a hostess gift, a birthday gift or ANY gift. And wonderful customer service.
The Bluffton store is my go-to for gifts. Just love it! I can always find creative items and the staff at this store is always super helpful and friendly.
I was looking for a bridal gift because Im in a wedding. I had seen an ad for this in a Hilton Head guide book so I gave it a try and I was very pleased. The ladies working graciously gave me suggestions and were very patient with me as I contemplated. They suggested somewhere for me to get a satin robe for the bride and they gave me suggestions on embroidery for it. They also directed me towards other gifts. Im very happy with the service and personal care they put into their help.
My mom lives on HHI and Im about 4 hours away. With only a couple of days left until Mothers Day, I started looking for gifts online. The Lettrs website doesnt have pictures of merchandise, so I called the store, hoping someone could help me choose the perfect gift over the phone. Lynn went above and beyond any customer service Ive ever received. She even sent pictures to my phone! After I payed, she sent me a picture of my moms gift, wrapped beautifully. I burst into tears when I saw the picture! Although I wont get to see my Mom in person on Mothers Day, I know without a doubt that she will be over the moon about her gift that will be presented to her.Thank you, Lettrs. Sincerely. ❤️ I will be ordering again soon.
Great place to buy local gifts!
I went in yesterday to search for a gift after work. To be fair, the owner was not present. I went in the door to the right where the hours are not posted, so I assumed the store closed at 6 pm. Come to find out, the store closes at 5:30 pm. There was a younger girl there who Ive seen before and an older lady. The older lady did greet me but she was not very friendly and not too interested in helping me, except for helping me get out of the door. The worst part about my experience is that they TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS on me as I was in the store. I guess that was my cue to leave. I worked at a gift shop very similar to Lettrs for 6 years and never once did we turn the lights out on a customer. We would have never even mentioned that we were closing, we always simply waited patiently to make our last sale of the day. Thats how small, successful businesses should be run and I think the employees here need to learn a little more about Southern hospitality and manners. When I got back in my car, it was 5:37. A whole 7 minutes past 5:30. I felt so awkward and turned off I didnt buy anything and just wanted to get out of there. There are a lot of other shops on this island that carry similar type products that I will be going to instead from now on to purchase cute and thoughtful gifts for my friends.
What a sorry bunch of people working at this store. Its the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday. As I pulled into a parking space in front of the store, I was curious as to why all of the other parking spaces were empty. Within seconds of entering through a door (that had no sign posted stating the shops hours) it was blatantly obvious. Not one employee greeted me and yes, I was the ONLY customer in the shop. The three employees behind the counter, kept up their banter as if I was not even present. After a full minute of browsing in a complete confusing cluster of items, the older of the three women asked if she could help me. The two young women gave me nasty looks and rolled their eyes at me when I asked questions and the hefty one actually turned her back towards me. The woman helping me, and I use that term, helping, loosely, was clueless how to answer my simple inquiries. I asked a question about putting vinyl monograms on one of their items. One of the young women, sitting on a back counter, pointed with her finger and said that the items across the other side of the store could be used to add a vinyl monogram. Who sits on their butt on a counter and points to an item twenty feet across the store and thinks that I just might be floored by the exemplary customer service and actually buy an item in their store? When I asked the woman helping me if she was the owner, she whispered the owners name as if she was scared to say it aloud in normal tone. Its easier to shop online and search for what you would like to buy then trying to figure out how to actually shop at this sorry excuse for a blahtique.
What a pleasant surprise when we walked thru the door. They have so many cute and unusual items in this cute store. Totally enjoyed our shopping experience.
Always courteous! Embroidery items are always on time and affordable
As usual, the staff was not friendly or accommodating, and actually quite rude. While I love supporting local shops I will not be returning to this business.
Great shop for gifts + sundries!
Atrocious. Ive never been so disrespected in my life. DO NOT spend your hard-earned dollars here. I ordered something with my sisters initials on it for her bday and I was guaranteed it would arrive within a certain amount of time. When I followed up, the daughter of the owner acted exasperated and did not want to help me figure out if my order was processed/mailed out. It was like pulling teeth trying to get her to help me. I was very polite to her and she responded by being the most unfriendly woman I have ever met (which was one-upped when I met her mother, the owner). Anyways, my whole order was messed up (by Lettrs) and did she take responsibility? Did she act apologetic? Did she act even slightly decent? No. I came back two days later and explained the whole situation to a very very nice older woman (probably 50s or 60s) who worked there and she was so sympathetic and kind and she told me she wished she could help but I would have to talk to the owner. But then something weird happened, which says volumes about the owner, the woman helping me lowered her voice and told me that the owner has a bit of a temper and might not react better than the daughter. Seriously?!?! I was very skeptical. Surely a grown woman would have basic manners. NOPE. The owner was, believe it or not, far WORSE behaved than her daughter. The owner started *YELLING* at me in her store. In her store. Ive never been treated so poorly in my life. And you might ask yourself, did I raise my voice? Was I rude? Did I forget my manners? No. No. No. So what triggered this woman to act like a poorly behaved teenager throwing a temper tantrum in her own store? I simply explained to her that her store made an error, which I have paper proof of. And she lost it. She refused to even look at the paper and my receipt, which was so strange. She started yelling that if I didnt like the way they ran the store then I can leave. And she yelled at me until I left. I am shocked and disgusted. In the end my sister got her gift (wrong color, but oh well) and I learned a valuable lesson: Some people stay miserable and just dont grow up.
I ALWAYS find really great stuff!!! All the girls in the shop are friendly and helpful.
Beautiful gifts for everyone in your family
Very fun and unique store
Best place for gifts! Love the owners.
Very rude and very overpriced. If you are visiting Hilton Head, do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague.
