Purchase with Jack was fine. Service with John overall had been pretty good up until now. I purchased the boat new. Its less than a year old, had all service done and winterized it in October. Upon starting it up this Spring (after putting the muffs on the engine and water on blast) started her up. Noticed water wasnt coming out and shut it off after 1 minutes, suspected the water pump had gone. John took a look at it and sure enough, the pump was burnt out. John then blamed me for burning out the pump coming up with all sorts of reason why it was my fault - maybe the muffs werent on right, maybe water pressure was bad, maybe you forgot to turn the hose on. Just bush league all around. This is far from my first rodeo as a boat owner. Needless to say, someone on 3As side probably ran it dry when they winterized it, killed the pump then wrapped it up hoping to not get in trouble. To add insult to injury, was forced to pay hundreds for a new water pump on an engine less than one year old. Suspect to say the least.
3a Marine is top of the line! I have been going to these guys for a few years now. Ended up buying a new boat from them in 2019 and the boat had some issues from the manufacturer (nothing to do with 3a). These guys took amazing care of me to make sure everything was right. They stand by their work. John and Pat in service will forever have my business.I ended up messing up my engine cowling recently and they took it fixed at no cost. I really can’t say enough about these people.
As a lifelong sailor, I had never owned a powerboat. Most of my sailing friends who bought one usually found a great deal on a used powerboat which promptly caught on fire or sank. I thought I was going to follow in their footsteps when I discovered a vintage 1973 HiLiner Gypsy I quite liked that was for sale. It was designed by Ray Hunt! My wife had other plans. She loved the Robalo R222 and thought it would be wise to purchase a new boat with modern features such as a new Yamaha four stroke motor with warranty so I would not be out in the driveway sweating over and swearing at another project. We reviewed a lot of dealerships and a lot of boats. 3A Marine was the best. Jack White answered all of our questions and helped us decide which options were worth the money and which were not. To his credit, he dissuaded us from going with a larger motor as it wasnt necessary for our needs. We are very happy with the Robalo R222 hull, the Yamaha motor and the Tidewater trailer. Pat and John in service have been a pleasure to deal with and they do a good job taking care of our maintenance needs. A local lobsterman reviewed our boat and said, Its just enough. On a scale of 1 to 10, my wife rates our Robalo at about a 20, maybe a 30. I highly recommend 3A Marine as do a lot of other folks on the Robalo Owners Facebook group.
Just re-powered my boat with one of the last Evinrudes. Jack and his team did a great job making this happen. Ill be back in the water this weekend after just a week of my old motor quitting. Cant wait!
I bought a boat from these guys at the NE boat show a few months back. The process was really incredible. I worked with their service manager and Jack and really had a great experience. Its a small family run dealership and everything was honest and transparent. Would highly recommend.
Its been a positive experience working with 3A. Both the purchase of our Robalo CC 2 years ago and subsequent maintenance. The few times weve had a one-off maintenance issue, John runs right down to the dock and takes care of it.
Even though they are a Tohatsu dealer, they wouldnt honor Tohatsu warranty on a 1yr old outboard (you used bad fuel). However, they happily took $70 for diagnostics to tell me my carb is clogged, and wanted $700 for a carb replacement in a $950 outboard (what???). Then then tried to pressure me into buying a new engine. Good thinking - once you need a carb cleaning, just get a new engine!Well, I watched some youtube videos and got a $30 chinese carb off aliexpress. 20 minutes later the outboard is fixed. Ill clean the old one and have it as a spare. They wanted $600 for at most 1hr of labor - no thank you...
Is there anywhere else to go on the south shore to get the best service ? I think not
Bought my boat here. Great people. Great service in parts dept. Always willing to answer questions
First time boat owner. Bought my boat online but had 3A winterize and fix a few things. Very helpful, reasonably priced, and great service
It is the best place to buy parts for your boat .service is excellent friendly people.Pricing is better than other boat stores in the area (monahans is way overpriced,)
Fantastic experience. Pat and the crew were very responsive and helpful. Great service. I will definitely do business here again and recommend anyone in need of Marine service or sales to check them out.
Worst experience ever with a service dept. They couldnt find a problem the first time I left the boat/motor for warranty service and said I needed a water test to diagnose it. They made me wait for over a month then they canceled the day before I was supposed to bring it in for the water test. I lost the beginning of my season waiting and still had a motor that wasnt running right. Very low integrity. They didnt seem to care.
Great parts dept with really nice people ready to help.
I was working on a deal with jack on a Robalo boat... We discussed numbers and we talked about my trade in value but he needed to see my boat before he could etch it in stone. I was gonna bring it down but that weekend did not work due to the boat show in town so I called him to schedule an appointment for this weekend only to find out he sold the boat on me. If I knew that was going to happen Iwould of left a deposit but it never came up I would have thought Id recieve a courtesy call saying we need to move forward because I have another person interested needless to say I am very disappointed and will never be buying a boat from them.
A+. Ive bought boats here on consignment. I use their Spring service, winterization service and for repairs in season. Professional! Knowledgeable! Dont bother going anywhere else. I swear by 3-A since I first used them in 2011.
Pat, John, Melanie and the team at 3a are the best, been going to them for over a decade and they provide the best work and service experience of any shop around. They really care about customers, are real proactive pros in their response and work, wouldnt think of going anywhere else.
Great place and great people always will to help if you listen. Family run an operated for two generations.

Wide selection of boats and engines. Friendly people. Top shelf work on repowers, instruments and controls.
Very helpful, all parts in stock for my Evinrude engine.
I often buy Yamaha Parts here for my Customers outboards. Prices are good, not getting that crazy markup like other shops and they are always happy to answer the phone!!
