Beautifully clean, relaxing environment. Staff are incredibly courteous and even cheerful. My number brick and mortar bookstore on the South Shore! Always happy to give them my business and thats enough to keep me coming back.

Clearly do not have enough help. Employees are nice but seem overworked by managers. I saw two female managers talking for about all of the 15 minutes I was in the store, while other employees were running around and were the only ones helping customers. If you need help, plan on waiting 10+ minutes.

Lynn the assistant manager is very disrespectful. Went in to the store for an interview and walked up to the customer service counter as instructed, about 3-4 minutes before my scheduled interview. Gentleman at the counter said he would be right back after helping someone, but never came back. I was left standing at the counter for 7 or 8 minutes before Lynn finally walks over and accuses ME of being late for my interview when I had been in the store almost 10 minutes by now. She was dismissive of my explanation and the whole interview she did not listen to my answers, barely wrote anything down, and rushed me out of the store. Treat people that come for an interview with respect, or at least meet them on time.

I got a couple of crossword puzzle books today. They have a very good selection of all different kinds of books

I am 12 so I dont have that much money but my mom gave me 26 bucks to get some manga Ive been wanting, when I went to check out the total was 26$ and 54 cents, when I the lady who was my cashier noticed it she gave me a discount to make the total 24$ she was extremely nice and im happy she gave me the discount, I didnt get her name but she was on the cash register farthest from the entrance door, it was at 12:38 and im hoping something good to her happens. I am extremely grateful she was able to give me that discount to let me get the two manga.

Youd think with all the competition out there Barnes and Noble would work harder to get market share back. They told me the book I ordered would be in the store in 3-4 days. Three weeks later after many unanswered call the book finally arrives. Terrible customer service.

Staff pleasant and efficient. Store feels vacant not warm like a book shop but like a market. Starbucks is in name only. So product lacks barista trained touch.

They are very helpful and friendly. They carry all types of books.

Great selection! Books, movies, puzzles, music. Great for kids, teens and adults of all ages. Cafe inside. Big store in a nice mall shopping area. Open location to walk around from store to store and other restaurants. They even have a big red chair to sit in during the summer for photo ops, its a few store fronts down from Barnes & Noble. In the winter their is a big star/snowflake that is lit up to also take pictures with. Then after your pictures you can grab a yummy drink, hot or cold, from Barnes and Noble and enjoy the fun relaxing atmosphere.

Well....its Barnes & Noble. They have tons of real books and what are those things called...oh yeah...periodicals...haha aka magazines!

Love this place!- love the atmosphere, the staff is usually super helpful& friendly. The store is ALWAYS clean. Theres always some type of sales too.. This last time I went to, Barnes & Noble, they had a sale on planners, stationary, &high quality wrapping paper was buy one, get one, 50% off. They also always have a variety of tables set up throughout the store itself, w/sale items. You wouldnt think Barnes & Noble would have a wide selection of toys, or childrens items, in general. But they have an awesome selection of toys!! They also have a lot of educational toys & other things of the sort.. A bunch of different varieties of slimes, sands, and clay. Which are great for, stress/fidget toys, or, sensory toys, for children&adults alike, who find that items like this, to often calm them, or give them something to do w/their hands.They have a Starbucks right inside if this particular location. They have chairs throughout the store, to sit, & read or look further into items you might be thinking pf purchasing. Either way, the staff was very friendly. The store was clean. As soon as you walk in, they have a little station, with a box of face masks, a giant container of hand sanitizer. Also labeled throughout the store is to remember to give people the respect of social distancing as well. Again- I LOVE THIS PLACE!👍

I went in about a half hour before this placed closed. Everyone was really polite, but there was one employee in particular, who’s name I wish I’d caught, that helped me find what I was looking for. When I couldn’t find it in the store, he went to the effort of looking out back for it. A HALF HOUR BEFORE THE STORE CLOSED. He didn’t have to do that!

They have great staff and you can even have books delivered to your doorstep! They also have a Starbucks there! Although, I was a bit disappointed when they were missing quite a few drinks there. Other than that it was great!

They have such a great kids section! It has a little stage and small chairs and benches that they can sit and read at! It really is a place where children can go to get excited about reading! They also have a great selection of books for toddlers! My daughter loves to visit when we are in the area, its nice to do a lap around the shoppes and stop in to play for a few and pick up a new book. They also have an awesome selection of magazines and a starbucks inside too!

The Hingham Store is great but the Barnes & Noble Website is ATROCIOUS! I have new equipment (Laptop, Phone) with the latest platforms and it still crashes, freezes, locks up. To be honest, I could go to Amazon, find and buy my book before the B&N Site becomes usable during a session. I try to log in to find the latest deals or upcoming events but no more

Ordered an item that was available for shipping online. I received and email saying it shipped. No further emails. One day I noticed the money was back in my account and the item hadn’t come as promised. I finally called them myself an was told the item is no longer available. So they cancelled it. Awesome. Two days prior to my nephews birthday and this is the one thing he asked me for. I look online and find it available in store for pick up AT BARNES! Well great! I try to buy it online since I can ONLY use a coupon online...u less I wanna pay them to get Into their savings club. No thanks. Anyway, no, it’s not an option. Won’t let me buy it online for store pick up. I call the store. Indeed they have it. Well great. I go to the store to get the item and ask if there’s any way I can still use the coupon since the item I had bought was never sent and unavailable online. NOPE. Guy looked at me like I had ten heads as if I should have dared to even ask. Seriously?! You couldn’t have taken the tiny hit? Ridiculous customer service right there. I’ll never shop there for anything again!

They would get five stars if their books were cheaper.

Its nice to go into an actual bookstore. The prices are often higher than you can get online but not always and you can actually hold the book and flip through the pages before buying. Barnes and Noble is great about letting customers just sit and read, with comfy chairs throughout the store. There is a Starbucks inside with separate seating. My favorite part of the store is the clearance section which can have a small to large amount of items depending on the time of year/post season/holidays etc. All one floor and accessible.

In and out in 10 minutes. Although the books I wanted werent in stock was able to order by the assistant clerk Lisa she did all the work and I just payed. Now with text I can track my home delivery all the way.Thank you so much 😇😃

The employees here are awesome, especially Francesca, Donovan, James and Ian! I stopped in today and after looking around for awhile I couldnt find the the last two books I was after. They both saw me wandering, looking a bit lost and then went out of their way to have them shipped to my house for me. Im glad great customer service like this is still around.

Had ordered a book online for pickup since it was out of stock everywhere else. The staff were helpful and pointed me to the front registers for the actual book pickup. On the way to the registers I had found my favorite brand of water, Fiji, for purchase. Also another staff member was walking around with samples of iced tea. Overall my experience was very pleasant, even if it was brief.

The atmosphere in here is very soothing. Your mind gets to wander through random pages in a book while relaxing in a comfy chair, sipping on a tasty beverage from Starbucks.

Love this book store. We meet friends here often. It has a bit of everything and s nice atmosphere. The employees are friendly and helpful. A fun place to shop for gifts, look at music, Manga, pop culture items, games, and if course books of all kinds. Then grab a Starbucks coffee and snack and relax.

The school break activities were wonderful. Cafe had a hard time keeping up with the rush but the staff were amazing as per usual.

This is a lovely Barnes & Noble with plenty of helpful staff in a well organized store. There is a fairly large toy section, in addition to a great childrens section. I go there often as I am able!

One of the few remaining brick and mortar book stores around. Getting in and out of the Derby Street shops can be difficult at times, but this Barnes and Noble is well worth it. Awesome customer service, and a fantastic selection of books keeps my wife and I coming back.

I buy some quality Stationary & cards there. Its a very pleasant place to browse and they have a cafe.

Also, now that bookstores are nearly nonexistent, its nice to see Barnes and Noble still putting in the effort to offer a great service, product, and facility.

The Starbucks inside is the reason for the 2 stars. My husband and I ordered the same drink in two different sizes and the first version they presented us with was basically two cups of almost pure cream.It took over 5 minutes to remake and, while it looked right at first glance, they were awful! Ive never been so unhappy at a Starbucks.

Nice atmosphere as usual. Nice selection as usual. Derby Shops is a neat place. Especially around Christmas. The only thing is that traffic can be bad at times.

This may seem Petty but I went to go use the ladies room and unfortunately it was closed that needs to be cleaned which is fine when I asked if I can use the mens room I was told no they dont have unisex bathrooms.

I wish more Barnes & Noble had the same level of organization and cleanliness that this particular location has. The best around.

Like all B&N retail outlets this is a nice location. Convenient starbucks cafe inside with plenty of table seating. Magazine racks with seating available. Large childs section with books, stuffed animals, a stage for reading recitals, large video section in rear of store, gift items, and so much more. Its all about the books you know.
