Place is awesome.. spontaneously decided to have breakfast with my flatmate, and ordered pico suave, avocado toast, latte and iced mocha. The coffee was great and so was the avocado toast. The staff was friendly and quick with the orders. Enjoyed my Sunday morning long after with NY Times on side.

Always hospitable service. Excellent selection of wonderfully fresh sandwiches and healthy salad options. Cozy environment. Cafe is always clean. My favorite place to come for lunch.

On the side of the 9th street Lightrail stadium. Very busy in the AM with Friendly Fast Service. Healthy Choices and Foody Choices. Love my Morning Coffee and Americana. ie. EGG,Cheese and Sausage on a buttery hot Croissant. Yum!!

I’m reviewing the coffee here and all I can say is WOW! They brew an excellent bean. I take mine black with no sugar so I can capture the essence of the good stuff. (And sometimes bad). But this place really makes a spot on coffee. I hope to enjoy a sandwich or snack with another cup sometime soon!

Its a chill little cafe type place right next to the 9th street light rail. Food was pretty good, service was personable but not very fast/organized. Overall liked the place and the feel. Could be a good spot to study from or chill for a bit.

New coffee place with good coffee selection, good chai latter and healthy snack options. They sell local honey which is amazing. I have bought a large jar of honey. If you have small kids, then this place has lots of story books for them to indulge in. The best part of this place is that you have the rare view of a hill on the backside. Also very relaxing to also sit outside. An ideal place to hide and read.

Worker gave me the wrong order, and then explained to me that iced coffee and cold brew are the same thing, where I ordered a cold brew because it’s supposed to be steeped for at least 16 hours. Very expensive coffee as well.

Black Rail Coffee serves great food and coffee selection. My colleagues and I love their cold brew coffee to keep us wide awake coz were graveyard on our work. Good customer service. Well mannered staffs. I like the place its so comfy. Gotta be back here again and again.

First time coming here and came here during my work shift in a rush, definitely will be coming back . Fast service, great cold brewed coffee, fresh sandwiches, and an amazing staff. I told the woman who served me to make my coffee sweet with French vanilla, she told me to try it and make sure I like it, if not she can make it more sweet. She didn’t have to- it was Perfect!! Can’t wait to come back!

Saw some good reviews before but as soon as I saw the review how they handled COVID related issues I was very disappointed. I don’t think I’m comfortable in supporting small business that don’t look out for their employees.

I have enjoyed black rail coffee for the past 3 years. Their pumpkin spice latte is like nothing Ive had elsewhere. They also have lovely baked goods. They are always willing to go the extra mile if you want something special.

The coffee is high quality and very flavorful (I am very picky with my iced mocha and it was one of the best!), and breakfast options are diverse. The service was very prompt and staff was friendly. Outdoor seating options are pretty great too!

I was thoroughly disappointed in the way I was treated at this establishment and HIGHLY request that they consider disability training with their staff.I had a trained service animal necessary for my daily function in a clearly labeled vest. Immediately upon entering they told me he could not be in here. I apologized for inconvenience but told them I cannot be separated from him. They asked for “identification” which is not required by law. They asked why I have him with me. I am not required to disclose my disability. I gave them an Americans with Disabilities act card and ordered my food and drink, tipping 25%. My service dog laid calmly at my side the whole time. They asked “to go?” I apologized and said I’d be working there. And they said “we have an outdoor area for that.” Not only is it cold and the middle of February, but I let them know I needed an outlet and rather than letting me sit where I chose, though there were many seats open in the large establishment, they told me to sit in the very back corner, even moving a customer to do so.When they called my name for food I was not allowed to go to the counter to pick it up, they belittled me by forcing me to stay seated because they didn’t want myself and my dog approaching the counter.I wanted nothing less then to leave and not support this business any further, but I stayed to work in order to show them a service animal has every right to be in an establishment. Toast laid quietly under the table for the 3 hours we spent here, sitting up once to perform a task. We did not receive an apology.

One of my favorite coffee shops in town. Has some of the best cold brew - stumptown coffee and plenty of room to sit. Added bonus - you’ll always see cute artwork done by kids in the nearby day care centers.Folks at the counter are always super friendly and cheer me up

This place is the best coffee place in Hoboken!First, it is very very clean, which is so rare these days. People do not touch money and your food using the same gloves. After each customer the gloves are being changed.Also, it is very delicious. The owner and his team do have taste. Salmon avocado toast is to die for! The coffee is great as well. Pastries are being delivered from a very nice bakery.This place is both kids and work friendly. It is cozy and welcoming.The only thing I would add to this place is a cranberry walnut scone from Gregorys :)

Ordered from here and after waiting for 1 hour and being bounced between the restaurant, Chownow and Doordash, never got the order. Owners of this restaurant need to get their process and vendor choice figured out so they’re able to actually retain customers. Terrible experience. Never going back or ordering. Maybe they do deserve to go out of business.

They know their coffee, from pulling a shot of espresso to making cold brew. Good for a quick grab and go breakfast sandwich before jumping on the light rail, which is next to the shop. Plenty of room for strollers so it is a favorite of moms and nannies. Kid friendly space,even a book rack with kids books. I prefer the New York Times which they also get every day. Obviously one of my favorite places.

Good coffee, great food and the staff is so friendly and helpful. A little off the beaten path and closes early but great if you work from home or need a quick lunch uptown. Its close to the light rail, literally next to it and the elevator. Large windows show the cliff and plenty of seating with nooks and a couple outlets. Outdoor seating is available and covered.

Great spot. I go there at least once a week for breakfast. Their iced coffee is delicious. I usually go for the bagels, which are also good, but their sandwiches are top notch as well. I like the fact that they support local artists and products. I got a pot of honey made locally by one of their customers and its off the charts. Besides all that, convenient location + a cool look is a win in my book. Cheers

Good coffees. Great service. They are overdoing it on the amount of stuff they offer - its just too much - but who cares? The basics are great. And theres plenty of places to sit. Just wish it was cozier (comfy chairs vs plastic).

First of, the WiFi wasn’t working. Then, it gets a horror movie vibe. I was sitting with my drinks. A waiter sprayed table cleaning products right next to me and I saw it fell into my drinks. Will NEVER come here again.

Awesome place!!! Tried all of their sandwiches and each of them are all uniquely delicious and I bet you will come back for more to try the different yet creative sandwiches they offer. If you are getting tired of eating any other regular subs/sandwiches, then this place is a must go for you. Also dont forget to get the ice coffee, very smooth and good quality tasting ice coffee, unlike those cheap one dollar coffee you can pick up anywhere else.

I think the people that work here write their own reviews. Actually the place itself is not bad, but the people that work here have to have more customer friendly skills.I was greeted the other day with what do you want boss! Now I dont know is the is derogatory or not bit I take offense to that term means something or not but I did take offense to it. I am not this guys boss but it is sad that I got treated like a jerk...i will never enter this place again...

Wifi, plenty of seating, great healthy tasting food (Im partial to the sandwiches and the avocado toast with pepper flakes), and of course good coffee...Gotten into oat milk lattes lately.And super easy since next to light rail.

3 people behind the counter all ignoring me when Im the only person in line. At least say Ill be with you soon. Finally, she asked me if I was here to see somebody on their staff, and I said no Im ordering a latte, after which they talked amongst themselves amazed about how funny it was that I wasnt the person coming to see the other person rather than take my order. Otherwise the latte was fine once they finally took my order and prepared it.

The coffee and breakfast sandwich (actually all the sandwiches) are great and its not too loud. A great neighborhood spot. You can get Intelligencia coffee beans there, too.

The food and coffee are always spot on. Try the avocado toast (sprinkled with chili flakes which is great), as well as the Turkey Meets Jam sandwich. The only drawback is that theyre not open on Sundays and it is a tad pricey.

One staff member became sick, was symptomatic of COVID and was asked by owner if they could at least continue for the remainder of their shift. That staff tested positive for COVID a day later. Another staff member and their entire household became sick and tested COVID positive as a result. After all this, another staff member opted for unpaid time off in order to avoid contracting COVID and was never given the opportunity to return to work. When confronted about his decisions, owner said he would not have done anything differently.Owner is irresponsible, dangerously negligent and has flagrant disregard for safety of his customers and staff.

This place isnt a bad place, but their prices are unreasonably expensive for what they offer. If you want to spend $4.25 on a 16oz iced coffee that is NOTHING special, go here. I would rather spend $3 on a Starbucks trenta (30oz) coffee.
