I ordered a hot pastrami cheese on a hard roll not toasted with mustard. I received a warm dried out no flavor pastrami and cheese on a hard roll toasted with mustard brought to me on the side. I asked for a cup of hot water because I like to stick my utensils in them to rinse them; I never received it. I will waitress however who was friendly enough and always smiling stayed on her phone more than she tended to my or my aunts order. I found that behavior to be very rude and very unprofessional and then considering that there was only six customers in the whole diner it still took us about a half an hour before we got service; & lousy service at that.
Standard NJ diner with an extensive menu. Service is relatively quick although I’ve had issues with my omelettes being undercooked. The pancakes are some of the best ever. Make sure to ask for your bacon extra crispy otherwise it can tend to be on the fatty side. Iced coffees are decent for a diner.

Food and service are good. Im a frequent visitor from Texas and its close to the hotel where I stay. The spinach and feta omelet is delicious, as are the hash browns. Great burgers, too. I took a star off because last time I was there, the cashier was very unfriendly.
Food was sub par and the serviced sucked. Waited 15min for hot sauce and server never came back until the end to refill my coffee. She was very nice, but way to busy to perform good service for each customer. Just your basic diner nothing special.
Waited about 15 mins before our server finally came up to us. Service was incredibly slow. Used to be a really great diner, but its clear now that their quality has dropped significantly.

Waitress just seemed bothered by everything. It made me very uncomfortable.Food was okay but nothing to write home about. Maple syrup is artificial corn syrup. Overall it was pricey for what is was. Will not go back.
This is the best diner in Hudson County. Had a very satisfying dinner of linguine with meat sauce. Huge portion, and the best meat sauce I have had in this red-sauce-is-king North Jersey area.Excellent coffee. Fast & cheerful service. Wide range of choices.I have eaten here several times recently and the food was always very good.Its a diner, but with great food. Worth the drive.

Service sucks, food was decent, but it sat for a while under the lamp. It came out luke warm and 20-25 min after I ordered at the bar. The staff was overworked indicating cheap management, but it wasn’t packed on a Saturday morning. It was difficult to get the server’s attention for a coffee refill. Never got a water refill either.
Ordered online and the food was delivered on time and was packed with care.Simple order. Cheeseburgers and fries, carrot cake, and rice pudding.Weve been searching for our favorite diner since moving up here from Central Jersey.Well, Malibu has moved into 1st place.

I just had the BEST BURGER I have ever had at a diner! I got the Pattie Melt and it totally exceeded my expectations. I am new to the area and Malibu has been the most convenient for getting food until my new place is set up. The prices are a little high but the quality of food can’t be beat! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
A consistently great experience. The food here is really good. Always fresh and delicious. The service is great. Ive been there with a baby and stroller and the staff went above and beyond to help us with our stroller and give us a comfortable, quiet space to dine. The french onion soup is sooo good.
Didnt eat the food,definitely a breakfast only diner.The Tuna on my melt tasted like it was 3 weeks old and 2 orders of Penne Vodka was inedible,the best part of the meal was the cole slaw and the service, our server was great.
Ordered a Philly cheese steak....got a steak sandwich with a piece cheese on each slice of bread. Friend ordered a meatball sub...he got the sandwich in the picture with really dry meatballs that clearly arent beef, just some mystery meat that smells off. We also ordered a Pastrami panini and that was fine but dry. Fries were meh. Only thing giving it a 2 star was that my steak was ok and the service good

We have been eating here for more than 40 years. It is quiet, theres parking, welcoming, clean and the food is fabulous.
Great food but my waitress was horrible! Her name is Alex/Alexandra. She was very rude had a bad attitude and didn’t check on the table once. Service was horrible!

I wanted to post an update to my previous review!! This pandemic has caused me to change my routine. My regular outings to the Diner have stopped completely thats why I am so grateful for the amazing delivery service I am receiving! Even after a mishap the other day the Manager made a special effort to make it right! I would wholeheartedly recommend the Malibu Diner and am increasing my rating to 5 stars!! Thank you Kostas!! Food was cold and the service was slow. Ordered a juice and a water at the beginning, received two juices and no water. Water finally came at the end of the meal
It was pleasant. Considering we live today with a Pandemic. Service was great.

If you grew up going to real legit diners then you know my disappointment with many new diner coffees and iced teas but guys, lemme tell you Malibu has the real thing. Nostalgic and delicious, and so personable in the moments I got to spend with them. Will be back to dine in! Their outdoor seating is the best we’ve seen! Equally nostalgic picnic tables adequately separated for dining comfort during troubling times. Thanks guys!! You made an otherwise upsetting day sweeter ♥️

Went with my friend, 1st time dining out since COVID shut down. Picnic tables are cute with colorful umbrellas outside. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We both ordered the homemade turkey burgers with fries and onion rings. The burgers were very dry and thin, seemed more like frozen patties. We were super disappointed. Next time well try the beef burgers.
Don’t be fooled by the pics, this food is very bland I couldn’t even finish it. It was nothing exciting at all, when I asked to take my food back the waitress gave me a major attitude and it went downhill from. Save your money & look elsewhere please, you will be highly disappointed.

This diner is a good one.. I went to eat after a party here and their food is very good. I had a buffalo chicken wrap with fries. Their fries💓💓💓 very nice service and nice ppl all around.. atmosphere was very comfortable and clean you can tell that the community goes there. Going back when I can get a chance.
The mixed drinks werent the best but the breakfast was solid
Last time I was there I ordered a roasted chicken which turned out dry. The waitress never asked me if I wanted gravy. Should have sent it back, and ordered another entree. Also never asked us if we wanted anything else, just brought the check.
Fast and friendly service. Food is always on point, at least for dinner. Need to go for breakfast a little more. Would definitely recommend the Pasta Malibu, Chicken Benjamin, Chicken Carbonara and for apps the Quesadilla, Mozzarella Sticks and Chicken Fingers. Reasonable pricing, plenty of seats, cant really go wrong here with a Hoboken staple.

The food is very bland. I got the eggs with bacon and the bacon was not crispy but not soft. It was a weird in between point. My friend got the wrap and it was also bland and soggy. The staff are friendly and the prices are good for Hoboken.

Hello, i just wanna share my review after i found out that one week ago i order grilled cheese and French fries 🍟 for my kids after passing the dinner and my son wanted to go inside, so we decided to order a pick up. After 15 min we came back for our order and when trying to park on the 14th.st side i hit the transfercase to my car ( Is250 ) and my front bumper. I found out after one week when I went to the mechanic for something else. The transfercase is 1300$ but an used one around 500$, so nice order...So we order to go couple times from there before we had diner as well but always i had in mind not to do it no more because of the quality and expensive things for a diner.

I appreciate this diner a lot and have brought friends with me to it. I do events at the Javits and when I finish loading out its very late, I dont want to pay for parking again in the city, so I drive back to New Jersey and this is the first open 24 hours thing I can get to after having no food all day while working. I just want big filling food at that point so I can continue work for more hours. All the middle of the night breakfast food is huge and reasonably priced and I am grateful.
I really love that In the Malibu I know I can get what I want and it will taste good too! The owners are wonderful. I can not give enough praise for the two gentlemen that are always there running the place. They are friendly, helpful, and make it feel like cheers when you go there on a semi regular basis. The Malibu treats people well. That type of service will get my respect and praise any day!
The food was great, but they do not give a 10 percent discount for Senior Citizens or for military people. Please note only 1 percent of our population protect us. I am in that 1 percent.

My family and I love this place. The food is great, and there is a wide variety of menu options available. Theres something for everyone! And when you enter, you walk past the beautiful dessert bar. Looks yummy, but Im always so full after eating here that Ive never ordered dessert. They even serve alcohol. I highly recommend.
Im glad I discovered this place after two summers I spent in Hoboken! Very yummy burgers and perfect service! When Ill be back in the city Ill be back in Malibu Diner. Someone could say its kinda expensive but when you hungry you simply dont care. 🤷🏻♂️ I know what Im writing about. 🤗
