2 starer, I had Bowl & Basket chicken other day. And as soon as I opened the leg quarters packet it was kind of a pungent smell like some sort of gas smell or methanol smell. Without trying I trashed it. Opened the drumstick packet, luckily this one wasnt having that smell. Although I cooked and eat. But never gonna buy from Bowl and Basket.
This may be the best Shop Rite in the entire chain. It doesn’t have the warehouse-y or dated feel of many of the other locations. It’s clean, has an extensive meat department, parking, and prices are very good compared to most of the local competition. The staff has always done right by me. They recently changed about half the checkouts to self-service, which I personally like. It can get very crowded on Sundays and around holidays.
I mean its better than acme
The disrespect received from this store is absolutely unacceptable. To turn away people in need of a shelter during the hurricane about 2 weeks ago, how much humanity left does the manager of this store have? Furthermore, the people they turned away when they needed shelter, one was someone who works in healthcare. They risked their lives saving people, sacrificing their health and life for somebody else. What if one of the shop-rite workers had been in a life-threatening situation and had been turned away simply because the hospital is closed? You really couldn’t even open up the lobby space for helpless people to find shelter? This situation really shows how much we can’t depend on each other. If you have any morales, please boycott this particular shop rite. Corporate needs to rethink management on this store. In fact, I don’t even trust what the corporate offices’ policy are for each store, but this reflect that a change in the policy is needed.Shop rite, you really let us down on this one.
Today was my first time and last time at this store. When I was checking out the cashier was taking her time as if there were not a bunch of people behind me in line. She looked like she could care less about her job. My grandma could literally probably scan items faster than her. Anyways that’s not the biggest problem, the biggest problem was when I tried to ask her about water jug refills and she looked at me with so much disgust and annoyance. What a rude staff. I don’t know why people act this way. If they hate their job they should leave and go do something else. I hate this sort of entitlement from people. I hope management makes changes soon but will not be returning ever.
This shoprit was clean well stocked and very big. They had plenty of parking and no lines when i checked out. My experience was good, i was able to find what i was looking for and check out quickly.
Good place to shop. Prices and sales are fair. Also the air conditioning is working great and it nice and cool inside to do your shopping.
If I could give this store -1 stars, I would. The manager of the store was so unempathetic and selfish. During the Ida hurricane/flash flood that took lives in New Jersey, a couple of people wanted to seek shelter to stay warm and dry. However, during closing time, she kicked everyone out and had the attitude of, youre on your own. What if something happened to those people because of her decision? She only thought about herself and the store and not the lives of the people morally. Understand that when store closes, people who are not employees should leave. BUT THIS WAS AN EMERGENCY THAT WAS LIFE THREATENING. Arent people supposed to help each other during an emergency? Be kind hearted? One person I know that experienced this is a pharmacist in a hospital and was stuck in the flood after getting off from work. HE HELPS SAVE LIVES. What does he get in return? SOMEONE TRYING TO KICK HIM OUT IN AN EMERGENCY. HIS CAR GOT SUBMERGED IN WATER. ITS GONE. I will never put my money on this shop rite because of the unethical treatment this manager gave. UNBELIEVEABLE.
Great . Most clean store Ive ever seen
The best cheese selection in town.Raclette, camembert, comté, saint agur, and all
Better than most any other location. Pretty low bar to achieve though.
Never again will I ordered for delivery . I never received my delivery. I waited from 5 to 930. I called the store all they can tell me is that the driver is out. No communication at all. Nobody called to tell me anything . At the end I had to cancel my order.. I had no food at home !! I had to get out of work early the next day to go shopping !! The worst thing is like no explanation from anyone
Great food store. 4 star because of the parking situation, you may have to pay street park, otherwise everything else good. Very clean, easy access.
Changed my review from 4 star to 1 star.Current: This is the worst shoprite ever. I mean I cant see it getting any worse.Consistently jacking up the prices and extremely poor quality produce over the last few months. Most items are marked up higher to the Jersey City. To top it - poor quality produce.Consistently got stale oranges for e.g.If I had a car, I would have never visited this place again.Previous: Good quality.Has a wide range of fresh grocery.Wish they had a small section for Indian grocery like the one in Jersey City.
I went to this ShopRite to buy a birthday cake for my friend. When I arrived at the bakery department, I picked out a cake and asked the woman behind the counter if I could get writing on the cake. She nastily told me that I had to go the front of the store, pay for the cake, and then bring it back to the bakery if I wanted writing on the cake.I paid for the cake, walked back to the bakery department and asked the same lady if I can get Happy Birthday Ricky written on the cake. She seemed like she did not want to be bothered. She stuck a small sign in the cake that said Happy Birthday and sloppily wrote the name (see picture attached). I could have have stuck a happy birthday sign in the cake myself.DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOPRITE FOR ANY BAKED GOODS. I also saw a lot cakes that were expired still out for sale.
Nice clean store. Friendly staff. Nothing negative to say.
Really unhappy with the attached liquor store. Its operated by ShopRite staff, but the general store manager is apparently not responsible for their (rude) behavior. Their latest liquor store policy is not to provide any paper bags or cardboard dividers, period. Buying a $60 bottle of whiskey and a $30 bottle of wine, and dont want them to shatter against each other on the way home? Not their problem.
At night you dont know your pulling up to shoprite because the lights are off
Terrible service, the store is always dirty, the staff is rarely helpful. The online delivery service is literally the worst Ive experienced, something has gotten messed up every single Ive ordered food for home delivery.
Much cleaner and better organized than Jersey City ShopRite, and more lighting. I would consider driving a bit further and come here instead.
Great clean store with friendly associates. The Deli service is horrible every time I visit. They work at a snails pace and don’t seem to care if a long line forms. All other services are great at this store.
Pick up should be set up near the entrance doors instead of 3/4 of the length of the store. The plantain at the produce were horrible.
We used to vend this store.. one of them any ways around the corner from stop and shop nice location.. Hoboken is a beautiful city over all.. its some good people that work here.. its some prejudice with in these very walls as well but shop for your food and experience.
Great place to shop
I went shopping yesterday 3/13 at Hoboken shop rite. I had a big order of 114.95. I want them to delivered toWest New York NJ I never received the order so I cancelled it. They told me in 48 hours I would get my deliver simply crazy because they have 6 drives. So I dont understand what the delay was. I WILL NEVER ODER ANOTHER DELIVER AGAIN. IT SUCKS !!!!
Great store, unfortunately the two ladies at the self checkout was more into their own conversation then helping paying customers.
Less crowded than Jersey City location. Good variety of fresh produce. Parking is easy.
Garbage, absolutely garbage. They’ve cut back so much at this store that used to be great. Good luck with long lines for self check out, dirty belts, no shopping carts, useless customer service, UGH. I’m glad that I never am going back again
ShopRite has ALWAYS been my go to for ALL my Shopping NEEDS... Prices are usually reasonable & the Employees are VERY HELPFUL & NICE!!! RETURN POLICY is GOOD ! LOVE COUPONS so they dont have a limit on how many you use as long as you buy the Product... ShopRite is the BEST !!!
ShopRite is very snazzy with IT technology cashiers...great Supermarkets very helpful and Clean.
This is why I do not give this ShopRite five stars 2 years ago I wrote a review about this ShopRite nothing has change since 2 years ago they want you to bring your own bags which I do have a problem I put my food in the bag while shopping because I feel safe putting my food in my shopping bag due to the Coronavirus and instead what day do to you is send the floor managers or Staffing to follow you all over the supermarket they should be looking at the food that is outdated here see the pictures Rockaway ShopRite never makes you feel uncomfortable LIKE THE SHOPRITE IN HOBOKEN
Online shopping customer service is absolutely disaster. They can never deliver in the time slot you pick. Even worse they dont even bother contacting you about the delay. After my order was delayed for 2 hours I contacted to the store for assistance and they say they do not have the delivery drivers cell number because he started 2 weeks ago. I had to throw some items out because they were perished.
Pretty decent store but VERY poor customer service and spoiled products more than often. Ive purchased ice creams that were freezer burnt (bc their staff left the ice cream out too long), bad baby foods and when you go for a refund or exchange, youre forced to debate with customer service that feels you are not due either refund or exchange because of covid. Ive been told by the customer service rep on several occasions we dont do refunds or exchanges on products once they leave the store because of covid. So, its our fault your stores merchandise was rotten?!? Tonight, I had another freezer burnt haagen daz ice cream that I purchased this afternoon and ate it bc I know the pettiness I will face with their unprofessional rep is not worth the headache. But then again, it is! I will be calling to complain about this tomorrow.
It’s a big supermarket where you can find everything
I do most my food shopping here
Meats are good, produce is hit or miss. Bakery is outstanding. Lately lots of stocked items are missing. Currently standing in a 15+ person checkout line. 1 slow checker only ....My neighbor just told me never go to Shoprite on Monday. UNDERSTATEMENT
Just comfortable shopping here
Overall a good grocery store. Very popular so it can be a bit hectic at the wrong times but its the best option Hoboken has for groceries. The smaller stores and bodegas wont have the specialty items youre looking for.
I like that they have trickling springs milk. cheese section isnt bad. there is a conveniently attached wine store, too.
Stopped by while in town, great big supermarket with great prices. Found almost everything I needed excluding 1 item. Reminder Dont forget to bring your own bags unless you want to pay for bags.
Not too crowned. Good for last minute stuff, especially after work and too tired for anything. Love their little of hot food now. Been eating those for 2 weeks straight. The fact that they add new stuff every now and then is also good
Its okay. Many foods! I like it but it gets really cold and shopping there is a pain
I love shoprite, I go there all of the time. When I go there for one thing I get more than one because they have great coupons and deals.
Good place to shop
Better than the one in Jersey City
My favorite for shopping groceries when I’m at Hoboken. Great and clean place.
I fell in love with this store and the prices was great
Thats the only supermarket that the whole book in the has besides traded Joe
Great prices and clean store and nice cashiers
Nice store... Great selection.
Go early when empty. Wish theyd pick up their trash.
Worker without mask at all, others with noses completely exposed, many items not found, Florida natural oj, Sargeanto sliced mozzarella, no rain check for digital coupons, why have them uf you dont have the products.
Always Great 😋😋😋😋💘
Always a pretty good experience. This shoprite is typically pretty stocked in most items. They have self check out which is really convenient. Staff are typically welcoming except(understandably) during busy peak hours where their main concern is restocking empty shelves.
Cool place. Clean and nice
The worst Home delivery service ever!!! Been waiting over 2 hours for my groceries. They say between 5pm and 7pm. No phone call or anything. So upsetting.
Do not recommend anyone to order from here they were suppose to deliver my groceries yesterday and today I get an email that the shopper canceled my order, very unprofessional and had me waiting til 10 pm last night on my groceries that never came.
Cashier Adrienne is miserable and clearly hates her job. Most of the employees are miserable but she stands out
Clean but regularly out of stock on items. Especially coffee and other items. Its ok to be out of items sometimes, but when the same items/brands are out of stock every week... its just annoying and makes the drive to the Kennedy Blvd store worth it.
One stop shopping, found what I needed and more.
Fully stocked clean and short lines. Can’t ask for more.
So this is a shoprite, right? Wrong. Shopwrong. Everytime I tried to find twine to wrap my rotisserie chicken I failed. Wound up breaking 3 bones. How does a shoprite not have twine for culinary usesees?? Ended up picking up a pack of dental floss (non-flavored.) The dental floss worked fine, finally was able to floss all 260 of my teeth, but now Im out and I still have a bird to cook. Oh well -win some lose some I guess..
So surprised by how big and stocked this place is... AMAZING! Prices are very fair as well!
ShopRite? More like ShopLEFT cause I aint goin back, haha am I right fellas?... I need friends.
The baker here is the best creative baker by far. She is absolutely amazing. The cakes are fresh and reasonably priced. I come from 39 mins away to get my child’s bday cake here. No Shoprite does cakes as beautiful as these. I was lucky enough to meet her (The baker) and she was also kind and very friendly. She truly does great work.
The best supermarket in Hoboken... unfortunately.Items frequently ring up with the incorrect (read: higher) price. Theyll refund the difference if you go to customer service, but I am absolutely tired of having to do this. Fix your system.
One of the best
Fair price and good service!
It was a good shopping experience I was able to find things easy with workers help
Too many customers remove their masks or dont cover their noses. Trader Joes is cleaner and more safe during covid.
Fully stocked quick checkout
Shop Rite Hoboken - from my shopping experience on 3/27/2020.Great that when you enter the store you can wipe your shopping cart down with the wipes provided.I went to the deli department first and was so surprised that the staff was not wearing masks and they are handling cold cuts and prepared food. There were some employees wearing masks throughout the store so it was inconsistent.
This is one of my favorite Shop Rite stores in the area. Well organized and run.
Good grocery store. Decent discounts. Parking is available. Their liquor section has a good collection from the cheapest to some of the expensive stuff. Good collection of wine and beer too. Well priced. Easy to get in and out. You need to pay 10 cents per bag.
I shop this store all the time. They seem to be phasing out certain store- brand items like the pink-packet suger substitute. And house brand frozen fish sticks. I believe this is due to the desire for higher profit margins.
I am a loyal customer! Who resides in Hoboken! Love everything about my Shoprite!
I would give this store 0 stars if I could. The majority of the check-outs have been converted to self check-outs resulting in a mad dash to scan and then bag your groceries at the same time, which is particularly difficult if youre shopping alone. What Im sure was intended to maximize efficiencies has actually made the check-out process more of a nuisance with long lines and lack luster service.
Its the best store around Hoboken. Biggest selection and definitely the best prices. However, other places are better for certain things.
Busy, pricey, long lines, unfriendly stuff
This place is ok, prices are good but there’s not much control on distancing and mask use.
I use to vend this store.. one of them any ways around the corner from stop and shop nice location.. Hoboken is a beautiful city over all.. its some good people that work here.. its some prejudice with in these very walls as well but shop for your food and experience
Showing improvement. Best standard grocery store in the area by far. Self checkouts are terrible though.
I have been shopping at Shop Rite of Hoboken for more than 16 yrs- Shop Rite from home is great- highly recommend- great delivery people and Margarita whos works in online shopping is the Best!!!! Thank you Shop Rite!!!!!
Great market with large choices for essential products. I enjoy grocery shopping there!
Always busy, this place. I like it. And its big.
Great place!!
Very big store has everything you need little to no lines at all following CDC guidelines for Covid-19
During this time of trouble they try to have items in stock. Other shop rites have a limit on fresh meats Hoboken shop rite does not. The pre slice deli meats are in abundant and they have the items on sale sliced. The only problem I have is the cheese and turkey is slice too thick. Staff is also friendly and polite and helpful. At checkout they all say stay safe and wish you the best.
Had everything I wanted at way better prices than anywhere else you’ll go in Hoboken. Honestly the best value option, it pays to make the trip out here and there’s a huge selection. Definitely recommend to anyone living in Hoboken.
Wonderful😁thanks guyS..
Huge with adequate parking. They didnt have the Shady Brooks farm precooked turkey meatballs. But Ill try the MamaMancini ones.
A very nice store with a very good deli and excellent fish market. Constant supply of various wild caught (and farmed) fish. The fish department is normally well informed and helpful. They are shorthanded. The store is well maintained. Often not fully stocked on Mondays and Tuesdays
I usually go to the Jersey City Shop Rite & it always feels like the Apocalypse is imminent. This store is spacious, clean, well organized & has a friendly staff. I will definitely be coming here to ship more often.
Care must be taken when using the ShopRite Hoboken self-checks. After 10 minutes of buying 4 avocados for $ 8.00 and leaving the market, I was charged $ 104.01 to my debit card for a purchase that I never made because it had already left. They do not give me the purchase slip or a copy or the list of products of that purchase, they simply ignored giving me the answer Not having any record of the purchase, and that I managed with the bank that is the one who should take care of my money, not them. The bank say my pin was used.
Good location with wide selections. Great rotisserie chickens, Black Bear meats and good bakery. Charges for plastic bags usage and sells reusable bags at check out.
