I and my family and friends have purchased 5 outboards from this business. They have ran great and been good engines, was a pleasure dealing with Wayne and always fairly treated. We will continue buying outboards here and reccomend them as used or rebuilt outboards can be very hit and miss, Wayne knows these motors well and stands by his product!

I traded my retired ox66 to Wayne. He gave me a very reasonable price towards my first motor. An 08 Yamaha 250. That motor blew due to water in the fuel. It was a used boat and Wayne even called me over immediately to show me what was pumping from the tank. We agreed on a new motor price and again Wayne took very good care of me! It’s been almost a year and I’ve put over 250 hours on my 17 Yamaha 300! I get it service at my marina but it runs flawless! My brother runs a charter out of Hernando beach and he also just purchased a 08 Yamaha 300 v8!!! On a 27’ sea fox it flys!!!!!

Absolutely great service, had a bad F300 powerhead and talked it over with Wayne and got me squared away. These guys figured the shipping there and back and got it rebuilt in a timely manner as we know parts are rare at the moment. Had couple minor things afterwards and Wayne took care of it all with no questions. I live in San Antonio Texas and they took care of me with the best of service. I’m a do it yourselfer and just sent my motor in a mangled mess and came back like new couldn’t be happier with these guys. Some of the best in the industry, thank you Wayne for all your help and professionalism

Was recommended by a friend to Wayne at M&W. I will say that we had major issues with both my 07 f225 yamahas blowing both just 1week apart. Valves cut loose. Then 2nd motor seized. Wayne replaced the 1st motor only to have a knock in it at breakin. He determined that the #5 cylinder was making noise due to what he thought was a bent rod and had me bring it back to replace it the second time at no charge. At the 10 hr oil change, the oil was milky. I took a picture and he said to bring it back for replacement for the third time and said he thought it might be a head gasket leak. One week later, the second motor seized. He rebuilt that motor and again, we had a overheat issue with that motor. This time he asked me to bring it back, go to lunch and within 4 hrs had replaced that motor for me to keep me from making another round trip to Melb. My trips were from Melbourne so no fun back and forth but I can tell you this. I took the boat to Boaters Exchange in Rockledge for the second overheat problem because of the distance and frustrations I had. I called Wayne to ask him what could possibly be going on to give their mechanics a heads up and he insisted that I not spend a dime on it and told me to bring it back to him. He said I paid him for a service and he would make it right. I checked the boat out and took it back to him. He replaced that motor for the second time making it right. As of now, 45 hrs later, the motors are running flawlessly. Just did mini and opening in the keys and all went perfect. I will say I was beyond frustrated with my trips and issues for sure but Wayne stood behind his work and made it right over a grueling 7 month period. I watched his men and took video on the second build and I can tell you with confidence that my issues werent the quality of workmanship. Those employees were unbelievably confident in what they do every day. I was amazed watching them disassemble and assemble the motors. There were issues with the blocks he recieved from the machine shop for sure which he said was rare but thats been my luck through life. Bottom line is I would pull my boat back to M&W in in a second for yamaha motor issues. Wayne never made a excuse, only apologizing for my troubles.

Warning to all before deciding to do business with Wayne Shoup and M&W Outboard Marine from Holiday, FL.I purchased in January 2020 what Wayne Shoup, owner M & W Outboard Marine, Holiday FL, represented as a rebuilt 1993 Yamaha 115 long block assembly. Paid $2900 including shipping. Had this installed on my outboard by my local NJ certified Yamaha dealer (Bobs Outboard Marine, Brigantine, NJ at $1535 total cost) only to discover it was just as bad if not worse condition as the one I had removed. The first nice surprise was our discovery this powerhead block was not the right powerhead for my 1993 115TXRR, but likely an older 88-92 block from a lower cost commercial unit. In order to use this block, modifications on my outboard were required including removal of my back up oil reservoir. Had he been forthright on what he really had to sell, I would never have purchased this block as it is from a stripped down lower value outboard than I had. But of course, I was already heavily invested by that point. Once the modifications were done (labor of course at my expense), install completed and motor started, there was water leaks everywhere including on both cylinder head and the manifold cover gaskets. But even worse, water was leaking into cylinder #4. A pressure check on the cylinders revealed that cylinder head at below specification with compression at 105# vs 120# in other 3 cylinders. Further, the cylinders were not operating at expected operating temperatures once warmed up. In troubleshooting the leaks and temperature issues, my mechanic removed just the thermostat housings - picture attached - to discover severe corrosion/ pitting and an obvious hole in the cooling channel that would prevent the engine from operating at correct temperatures right out of the box. I looked up myself to discover this housing plus the gasket for this part was relatively inexpensive. If M&W would sell something this obviously bad as rebuilt, you have to wonder what if anything was really done to this power head. And in case you were wondering, yes Mr Shoup did include a copy of Yamaha’s standard outboard break-in procedure along with the paperwork suggesting a competent rebuild had been completed. Further, he did represent to me by telephone this outboard had been rebuilt including boring and sleeving of 1 cylinder. I ultimately paid $4400 to install an unusable “M&W OUTBOARD REBUILT” power head that was in much worse condition than one removed. Wayne Shoup initially agreed by telephone to make this right by paying all costs to have his “rebuilt” powerhead removed, skidded up along with my other bad powerhead, shipped to M&W, consolidated into 1 good unit, sent back and reinstalled on my outboard. That was on 4/13/2020 and we are still waiting for Mr Shoup to honor that commitment. Appears he is waiting for me to arrange shipping and place PO to my mechanic for this work so I will ultimately be financially responsible. He of course has gone silent for nearly 2 months refusing to respond to me or my mechanic.I have all the documents, communications with Mr Shoup, pictures and videos of “M&W’s REBUILT POWERHEAD” in action to validate my story so please feel free to contact me. Attached is just one of the pitted/corroded thermostat housings M & W installed back onto their rebuilt powerhead..

Purchased in May of 2013 a used 2001 225 horse two stroke Yamaha Motor from M and W Outboards. Do not deal with Wayne the owner or the company. The motor was as he said fully checked out, everything worked, new decals etc.Very little of what he said was true. The motor arrived after July 4th, at least three weeks late. The power trim and tilt did not work. It took several months to get him to ship me a part to make the trim and tilt work. The trim and tilt system had no oil and was a nightmare to purge and correct the issues. Finally put the motor on the boat in 2014. It did start right up, but the water pump was not working. I called Wayne at least ten times with no return calls. I finally gave up on the motor due to the failed water pump, and brought it to my local Yamaha dealer in Brookfield CT. It needs a new water pump and one of the cylinders has very low compression. Wayne is not an honest businessman, and runs a one man circus of deception. The motor and lower unit were not painted and no new decals were put on it. I asked to ship the motor back a number of times by email and by phone. He would not take the motor back.I am out over $8,000.00 and facing a decision to rebuild the powerhead .

Ordered a yamaha F225 fully rebuilt from Wayne Shoup. He was eager to take my money and after long delays in shipping the engine arrive. As soon as the motor was connected and running it didnt idle right and oil was coming out of the engine lower unit. Wayne said it was a break in issue run it for ten hours and the symptoms should go away. Didnt last more than two hours and all the oil alarms came on. Out of oil and missing badly or backfiring. Anyway Wayne authorized repairs to make the thing right but as soon as the bill was submitted he said the work wasnt what he authorized. After $7200 in repairs motor ran finally then seized. Some of the facts of his rebuild were he never replaced water pump, oil pump seal was broken, old spark plugs, leak down showed two bad rings, throttle bodies were damaged, and after three months of his lying I finally went to BBB and Florida DA. Then Wayne said I was just about to pay for all of your invoices but since you went to BBB I wont pay anything. Had to do a charge back on my credit card and send the piece of crap back to him. He claimed he would pay my invoices but two weeks have passed and nothing, Stay away from this guy and read BBB and the forums. Many have been scammed by him. Bottom line is he sells junk passed off as rebuilt but probably nothing was done at all to the motors. Complete fraud and liar and while he may email you back never backs his own words.
