I had a new oil tank installed today by Jose and Nick from Marran Oil. My old tank was on the verge of leaking and was actually the original oil tank, installed when the home was built over 60 years ago.Jose and Nick took the time to explain the job to me and carefully measured everything and were very considerate, taking care of protecting walls, doorways and floors. They worked as a team all the way and were very professional and left my home spotless.Joe, the salesman, was gracious and knowledgeable and put my mind at ease from the start. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the end result…a beautiful oil tank. I now can breathe with the winter coming and not worry about an oil leak. I highly recommend this heating/cooling/oil company to anyone looking for a new one.
We recently moved into our new home and needed to find an oil company for a small emergency. After calling around the island Marran was the only one who could come right away. Fantastic experience with Marran Oil. I needed a new boiler. I asked for several estimates. Marran had, by far, the best price for an Energy Kinetics boiler. Joe the salesman was upfront, honest, and a pleasure to speak with. Jose and Nick, the plumbers, worked all day. They answered all of my questions about the new burner. They left the room spotless. Serviceman found a slight spray of water that has been there a long time and told me to make an appointment for a $600 fix. Several days later, there was a flood caused by what became gushing water. My partner came to the rescue by simply tightening the bolts. While expressing my upset to Mr. Marran, he said they do not tighten bolts and that he cant help me with the damage from the flood. And you wont sue me because the attorneys fees will be too high. He then ignored my emails. Zero integrity. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
I have been a customer of Marran for nearly 50 years and have received nothing but excellent service and competitive oil prices from the company. In addition to buying our oil from them, we have had them service our air conditioning system, and several years ago they installed a new boiler and oil tank. In all interactions, from the office reps who answer the phone, to the oil deliverers to the technicians, Marran seems to hire only the best.A great company. I would never leave!

4/17/2019: This update reiterates the 5 star review from last year. This past Monday, the controller on our boiler failed and we found ourselves without hot water at 8:30 PM. Jesse was at our house by 9:45, replaced it, and was on his way about an hour later. I wanted to register a big Thank You to Jesse and Marran for helping us in a pinch.We had a hot-water storage tank installed today, as well as wiring for two digital thermostats. Both techs (Rich and Mike) went above and beyond in helping us. The water tank was a super-clean install and the thermostats work flawlessly. We recently bought our house and signed a contract with Marran as they serviced the location for the previous owners. Im definitely happy thus far.
This past August we had a new boiler system installed by Marran, Joe W. was the salesperson. He coordinated the entire job and watched over his crew which were very neat, clean, knowledgeable and Friendly. The new system runs perfectly. Your techanian CHarlie, A former employee recently returned. I welcome back and was impressed with his detail attention to the job at hand. He was in Just down the block from my house and showed professionalism in advising Dispatcher . The orginal appointment was between (2- 6). dispatcher called me at 11:30am . Charlie showed up 15 (fifteen minutes) later. Now than SERVICE!
I had Marran install an alarm and signed up for 24/7 monitoring. More than fair prices, quick response. Never have to wait when I call them. No complaints.
This was a routine service call for the winter season. The tech cleaned and adjusted the burner and boiler. I noted one of two bleeders was leaking and he replaced both bleeders with another brand that is a better quality.I have been a customer for a few years now, and will stay with them as long as they keep providing the service level they have.
I had them install central air conditioning for my house and a ductless unit for my mother in law four years ago. We have been very happy with both systems. The house cools down very quickly when turn the ac on.This past winter I had them start delivering oil and servicing my boiler. I also had them start monitoring my alarm. I have been very happy with both. My boiler stopped working one night and they had fixed for free before my kids bedtimes.I havent had any attempted robberies, but the one time my sister set off the alarm by accident, the alarm definitely went off.
Their technicians all seem really experienced. When Ive had problems with my furnace, theyve been able to fix it very quickly. They also show up quickly when I call with a problem, even the time I called at 1am.With them, Ive never run out of oil.

There is no hold time when they answer the phones. It might seem like a small thing, but thats so rare nowadays. Its so nice to just be able to call when my gas heating system has a problem and immediately be able to speak to someone. At my old gas service company, the salespeople were the only people you could speak to immediately. You had to wait half an hour to schedule a repair. Marran also replaced my old gas heating system with a gas heating system. Im very happy with the new system.
Professional and courteous, it was a tune up maint, but the tech showed up at the designated time and did a thorough cleaning. Of my system. Satisfied with work.

I had maybe 25 years of experience as a Marran customer, never had a major problem until I talked my son into using them for security about 6 years ago. He signed a five year contract with them because of my recommendation. Marrans part of the contract was to provide an alarm system for fire and theft, My son had many problems since they tried to get an old system working, and It never did work . after countless repair visits and many costly false alarms he had no choice but to get another company (Petro) to correct the situation since he feared for the safety of his family. At this point he had honored the contract for about 3 years at the time. He is now a loyal customer of Petros. Repeated attempts to cancel this contract with Marran failed. Marran continued to harass him with bills, collection agencies and finally small claims court where he was among many other marran customers in similar situations. So if you sign any contract with Marran, including oil or a/c service I would have a lawyer check it. I had recommended other customers to Marran over the years who will now become aware of this problem I had with them and hopefully reconsider doing business with them, I would also get a second opinion if they send a service man who tells you you need a new boiler or a/c system, because thinking back i was told both in a previous home. I was talked into an expensive boiler which happened to be a Marran brand, then when I was told years later I needed a new central air system I got a second opinion and repaired my system for pennies compared to their estimate, BE CAREFUL!!!
Got over quickly, solved the problem, fixed the problemtold us all about it. Nice young man.
UPDATE -Never ran out of oil/my pipes never frozen - delivery was made the day after the snow storm; according to Mr Marran the delivery was indicative that I had more oil than my gauge had indicated. Being a homeowner with oil heat for the first time (previous house gas) I was going off of what I was reading on the gauge, which indicated under 1/8 tank.New customer/ 1st time oil user. Signed a contract 2 months ago.You guys tout automatic fills. Got a call on Thursday 12/28 (asking for payment) and also saying we were due for a delivery based on your estimate, and that it was being scheduled.Come yesterday 1/3, I realize a snow storm is coming and I dont recall receiving a receipt from you... go check my gauge and I am at 1/8 tank. I have a 2.5 year old and have the impending storm... So Im concerned.I call at 730am on 1/3 and am told a ticket was created for delivery. I ask when it will be delivered. No one can tell me. Im told I have access to emergency services if I run out of . Exactly what I want to hear.I ask why I received a message on 12/28 that I was being scheduled for delivery and never received. No one can tell me. They say maybe someone was sick or there was an issue with the truck... I ask how long after a call I should get a delivery. No one will answer me.Im told if I have any issues to call their number even in a storm. Call today 1/4. On hold for awhile. Get answering service who tells me she will have someone call me back. Waiting.So... now I have to decide between cranking the heat in the case power goes out to keep my kid warm, or keeping the house cold to extend oil as long as possible.Seems to me that if you cant deliver on the terms of my contract you are in breech.In summary, YOU called ME 12/28 to say we were due oil and delivery would be scheduled. That never happened, even after I called to tell you I had 1/8 A tank On 1/3 (I now have less) and no one is around today 1/4.Ive been told maybe there were truck issues or scheduling issues, that you were busy due to the cold.As someone also in a customer facing job, I can tell you that much like my clients dont want to hear excuses from me, I also dont want to hear them from you.I signed a contract with the understanding Id never have these concerns. Now your best response to me wanting to know WHEN I would have oil is IF I RUN OUT OF OIL, I have access to emergency service.Not - you will have oil in 24 hours, or before you ruun out.Unacceptable.Update - got a call back. Said no deliveries today due to state of emergency.I get it. I want people to be safe too. And warm. Which is why I called yesterday. At 730am. After you told me 12/28 a scheduled refill was coming up.

My family has been using Marran Oil forever. My brother switched to Petro and then switched back to Marran because he was not happy with Petros 4 day response time when he wasnt getting any hot water.
I just switched to Marran after my old companys service was lacking.I was a Petro customer and I tried to switch to Meenan because Petro has clearly gotten too big to care about their customers. I had almost switched to Meenan when I read an online review that said that they were owned by Petro. When I asked the person at Meenan who tried to sign me up, about it she said that it was a sister company. What manipulative bull****. I looked it up online and lots of sources say that they are owned by the same company.I havent been with Marran long, but my first furnace maintenance was excellent and Im just happy to be out of the Petro empire. I will update my review if they end up being awful too.
