7-1-2021Mask was required walking in - Im vaccinated but still dont care, if its their rules Ill follow it. Was looking at the whiskey selection and WOW - better and CHEAPER than Safeway. Most of the things I was looking at were $5-$8 cheaper than the grocery store.Beer selection was great as well. The walk-in cooler was a great selection beyond what you can see.Cool place, great prices, walking distance from my place.I like it.

I sort of hesitate to say this they have a lot of really good whiskey that I have had a very hard time finding where I live in the Bay Area. Reason I hesitate? Dont want it to all get sold out before I buy a few of them. Very friendly staff and easy to find on main strip in town. You will not be disappointed.

I dont make it to Homer often but when I do I make sure to stop at The Grog Shop. Seriously the best wine store in the state. Amazing selection and usually some pretty good prices to be found too. Our last trips yielded some steals on a bottle of Dom and a very nice Chateauneuf du Pape. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff too.

The old short guy that works at the East end at 11-16-20 has no compassion, very rude! I had a mask on but refused my business. my mask kept on creeping off my nose and he made a huuuge problem from it. Ill be letting my friends know of what kind of huge problem this causes The Grog Shop. We’ll be Going to coles market! There was another 5-6 people behind me who left the building who where behind me.

Hands down the best store Ive been to in the state.i always walk away happy and with a better understanding of what I like or should try later. I live on Kodiak Island and would rather travel to Homer or have friends pick up my orders then buy any where else... Except for Costco.... BIG shout out for handles of Kirklands vodka and gin.💯

They are going to have something you like, the variety is huge and its the place to get a bottle of wine on the peninsula.

Variety terrific. Staff great with suggestions. I only cook with alcohol and suggested ones made delicious sauces with meals I made.

Dont let the exterior fool you. It looks pretty skipthisable on the outside but it actually has a really good wine selection inside. I wad impressed and i know wine. Oh its also a liquor store (with a few really rare top shelf items) but back to the wine section. Two things of note: first, to get the best, most consistent measure of how expensive a place is, clock the Veuve. It was $65 here. Yikes. Of course, it is Alaska and how hard is it to get Veuve here? Second, a lot of the bottles were upright. This is not a good sign as those bottles will turn quickly. Still, all in all, its kind of a gem.
