Got there at 12 am and they had live shrimp, pin fish and a nice Sombrero hat to keep the sun off of me for next day of fishing.
I have been visiting this bait shop for years and never had any issues. This morning I bought 10 dozen live shrimp and 90% were dead by the time we reached our fishing grounds about two hours later. I had a functioning bubbler and am experienced with bait. It was a real shame as we had a nice day on the water which would have been even better with actual live shrimp. Perhaps Mondays are lousy days for live bait, but if they arent going to survive, dont sell them.
Pretty good selection of bait and tackle. They dont have as much snacks as they used to, but I assume thats because of the racetrack next to them.
It used to be the best place to stop and the last. The prices are very high. There used to be hot dogs and sausage hot chocolate on the go. O well you will have to go next door to the gas station. Prices are reasonable. Shrimps are very expensive 😩. But if you keep going there are other places to purchase Shrimps but thats the chance you may have to take they may not have Shrimps. Live of course
Decent prices on bait, always seem to have what you need. Tackle is a bit sparse these days but that seems to be everywhere.
The Yellow bait shop joint for live shrimp, bait and other fishing accessories in Key Largo..
Stay away from this place $50 for a case of calamari Next time I’m going to somewhere else
Dec 12 8:30 pm walk in to get some sardines two Spanish guys working (more like lounging and smoking cigarettes) the back rudely shouted not to get fish water on the floor. Like really? It’s a bait shop if you don’t want to do your job don’t work. The floor has to be mopped before next shift anyway. Sad to be talked to this way, used to work at this place I’m sad to see customers being treated this way. Rick will love this review.
Just dropped $50 on 20 LIVE crab, only to get to our camp site and all but one be dead. Of course, calling them isnt an option. Thanks a lot guys, Ill be sure the spread the word. Waste of time and money, unfortunately.
I have fished for over 50 years now and this place by far has more types of bait than anywhere I have been. Awesome place!
The girl at the register could not have been more rude. Horrible
Didnt have shiners. When I asked for them, gave me shrimp. Didnt offer to even take them back.
They didnt have their fishing license machine work
When you have no other option this is what you got but you have to be very careful with the live bait, they have tried to rob me in my face and give you less than what You’re paying for and take advantage and like to place high prices
Hard to get prices or check to see if they have bait if they never answer the phone obviously you have to get bait elsewhere
Used to be one of the best tackle shops in south Florida, after it was sold to the current owners it has become the worst. Let’s start by mentioning that the staff is really really rude, and they almost never have live bait. This is not the store to trust for our fishing needs.
Never EVER have live bait on weekends only on weekdays. I went and asked at 4:45 AM on a Saturday and they said they ran out of live shrimp ... they said they would get more at 12 noon. I came at 12:10... they said they ran out.. its almost as if they save it for their friends and family.. stay away if you want live bait.
Horrible customer service!! The so called staff treat you as if you dont exist. Plus very overpriced... do not understand how they are still in business. Do not recommend in the least!
No life bait
Great supplies. Faat service.
Great staff very helpful and quality equipment at a great price
The only 24 hour bait shop around. They have good affordable prices. Ask when they will have fresh bait if youre concerned for it being rotten. Just like all perishable goods you buy when its fresh if not dont buy it, just like any store. Great selections of live and dead bait. Live bait requires a lot of oxygen one small aerator wont keep 10 dozen shrimp alive be realistic people.
Great service here every time. Sometimes they are too busy for their own good but thats not really their fault. They have a great location. Prices are reasonable and lead weights have the best prices in town because they sell them by the ounce rather than by the piece. Live bait, fresh dead bait, mullet, shrimp, crabs, etc. All really good. If they installed a new cash register it could handle the demand during peak times much better. I have avoided it by going to Dons bait shop a few times when I knew this place would be to busy. Parking is good for about 5 boats with trailers.
Good place to stop and get Bait on your way into the Keyes. They have everything you could need and then some. They almost always have fresh ballyhoo my favorite Bait.
Best place for fishing rods and bait
No live shrimp. Cant use debit/credit card unless its $10 or more. Even if your purchase cost $8.48.😤😤. Bathroom had no soap to wash hands. I told the clerk and no one put soap in the bathroom. Had to go next door to wash my hands. 😣😣.
Been go here since the early 90s for bait. Love this bait shop.
Ricks yellow bait house is one of those iconic places at least the location has been selling baits for who know how long used to be called Jacks but none the less it a great spot before the keys to load up on tackle food and bait. It has a lol bit of everything u will need to bridge or boat fish and also sell marine item both for both and trailer . Good spot to buy live bait frozen bait and chum open 24/7
Amazing shop, great place to get all your fishing essentials before heading to the keys!!
I have been coming here every weekend for the past month. And every time I leave I feel cheated. I always ask for 5-6 dozen love shrimp and I end up with 3 dozen instead. Its sad that theyd do something like this, because I travel far to fish around card sound. Worst feeling is trusting that youre leaving thinking youre getting what you paid for and when you start to fish you notice its not 72 shrimp, but more like 36. Customer service sucks! You ask them to count again and they tell you its fine, you go to the front and ask the young guy the same and he seems like he couldnt care less. The last guy made me BUY another dozen so he could hook me up. I dont recommend this place nor will I be going back.
No live bait...go figure.
So I went into the yellow Bait House in Florida City to get pin fish last night and I asked for a sizable ones due to my target fish. I purchased 8 pen fish for a $13 which fine I can deal with a dollar fifty per fish. Yeah the guy gave me my bucket and it looked like the water was somewhat dirty so I couldnt really see them that well I drive down to Islamorada where Im staying at cuz I work down here I drain the water out of the bucket and put fresh water I have to aerators on my fish mind you. I can keep pinfish and plenty of them alive and Lively for an extended. Of time Ive been doing this a while. Any way upon putting fresh water in the bucket I get a good look at my 8 Pin fish all of which are on their Deathbed and look like zombie fish no Tales their flesh was rotting they smelled like all hell is breaking loose Their Eyes Were beat up. Is the worst lie bait Ive ever purchased at a tackle shop ever. One of them died right after we put them in the bigger live while at the house the rest of them could barely even swim. So I didnt go fishing right away in the hopes that they would get some life back in fresher water but now. 3 hours later when I get up there all dead and stink like theyve been dead for weeks. This is the kind of live bait you sold me? Charging a dollar fifty for zombie fish that are useless. Even if I got to the bridge to fish there is nothing in the world that would eat those at all whatsoever due to their horrible condition. How can you even charge people money live bait fish like this or sell them do you not believe in quality at all? I would never sell somebody Bait fish in such a horrible condition. I will never buy live bait or any bait at this store again. Absolutely unacceptable. And as far as Im concerned you guys owe me $13 and a fishing trip that I couldnt go on because of your horrible bait. Thanks for nothing I will post pictures of the remaining dead fish at the bottom of the bucket which look like theyve been there for three days dead
Great place but there prices have gone up for bait and I bought a cigar there and it was old. I use to go there for years and now on my last visit notice they have gone down hill. Feeback: sell fresh cigars and through out all the old ones that break when you open them. Number 2, lower the price on the bait and keep it at the rates they were before and stop trying to up charge people. Be good to loyal customers rather than try to gip them for their money. You guys use to be family owned and looked out for customers, nokw it seems like your just trying to get what you can out of anyone who comes in.
I always stop here before hitting key largo for fishing. They are open early, (now open 24hs) and are pleasant. They have live, fresh dead and frozen bait. Plus tackle, traps, and everything else you might need. The ceviche that they sell at the counter is top notch!
Great spot for live bait and tackle. Open at all hours and conveniently located
ANSWER THE PHONE SO YOU CAN TELL CUSTOMERS IF YOU HAVE LIVE SHRIMP INSTEAD OF WASTING EVERYONES TIME...
It was okay nice and clean found everything I needed
Typical bait shop. Norhing special. Always stop here out of convenience. Its the last stop before you actually get into the keys.
Stop here everything in route to keys
Crazy busy first thing in the morning. Typical bait shop. Be careful going by. There was an accident right in front of the shop.
Great service I go night fishing a lot and its great to have a 24 hour bait shop. This place is awesome
They have good deals on live bait, especially when they have their specials. They seems pricey but i have never actually tried to compare with other store because i am too excited to be going fishing, but somehow always manage to spend $100.00 or better.
Best bait shop I been to so far. Love the cheap prices they have...
Its a great place to get live bait🦐🦀🎣
Great spot to buy bait open 24/7 people are nice and attentive.
Great place just need to be in early for the shrimp.
Best bait spot, good prices and always reliable when you need them
Love this place everything you need and your in and out
What happened to this shop, when it was Jacks this was the place to buy good bait, now the live bait dont last and the frozen baits are old.I miss the old Jacks
Good for bait and fishing supplies
By far the best, cheapest and freshest bait available. Go after 5pm though, the night crew is much more knowledgeable and are always willing to let you know whats biting that night
Answer the phone that could help !!!

Yoslan guajiro went above and beyond in taking care of us. We will be back!
Good place for bait open 24h

The block ice is way to much its over 7.00 a block
😪petty cashier should be more people person to paying costumers

Paid for 4 dozen Shrimp, got less than 2. Dishonest business practices. Go somewhere else.
Conveniently located....prices are moderate
They need to do better

Very great place.
Only had live crab for live bait when I went around 11 pm. Very disappointed because I took my son to get live shrimp. Ended up buying frozen bait.

Nice place 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Sucks
I like it
The chubby young girl in the front have a horrible attitude and no customer service at all.
20 years ago it was the best place to buy good bait to go fishing, but today it is useless, old and rotten bait and the prices for the clouds.
Good place to buy my baits
I enter there because I have no choice. Not even the bathroom can be used. If there were a blessed one who put another business nearby to see how they go bankrupt
Some kisses I find the sung or tallow good for fishing and other times they are not fresh and it is a disaster.I dont know why they dont sell live sardines. The others are fine. Very assorted other departments.
Excellent
Very good for fresh bait and fishing items.
Is having a good time
