Lets see... Put in an online appointment for 2:30 for an oil change and tire rotation. I arrive and am told (with apologies) that the online system allows for double booking. So it will be 90 minutes to wait. Fine.Car is pulled around front at 4:05. I check out (and they nicely tossed on a coupon for me, thanks). I ask casually if they added air to my tire that was low. They balk, run outside, whip my van in, fill it, and whip it out. Except... When I get in and check the pressure? The same tire they filled low was in the same spot. So. Clearly no rotation was done. My receipt said it was... But the computer doesnt lie.Ill go elsewhere next time.

I’ve brought my cars & truck to this Pep Boys for years. I had my back brakes & rotors replace by someone else in Oct. I came in to get the front replaced and they said that I needed front and back brakes & rotors. I told them to replace the front and I’d come back for the back. I decided to take my car to another shop and the mechanic said neither needed to be replaced! Ladies beware this store will try to charge you for work that you don’t even need! They have definitely lost my business, I will never have them service my car again, not even for a oil change!

This place was recommended so I wanted to have my car serviced there. I went Twice with an appointment and the guy to do my evaluation had called off work. I drove 17 miles to and from home both times without getting service and now that Im here for a 10am appointment, that I said I Needed specifically, they still didnt look at my car until 11. I just waited an hour in the waiting room where there was eventually too many people. I hope they do good work because they are already on a bad start with me. I take my time very seriously.

Saturday June 5th i went into pep boys to get Tire rotors And brakes done on my car they want to charge me 1,010.00 for all for and i told them no and They messed up my tire bolts so I had to replace them. I will never go there again. They to high and sloppy.

I went to the Homewood store near 183rd but they only sell tires now. The whole Pep Boys chain is changing to be a tires store.I didnt know it is changing to tires store.Maybe with a marketing research they found out it was more profitable to sell tires and not parts.I thought it was (as before) an auto parts store and that I could find a simple oil for a 2 stroke engine but found out otherwise.They sent me to Autozone where I found what I was looking for.

2 new tires, was told the service would be a 45 min wait. The wait turned into a hour and a half wait and I ended up with a cracked tire pressure sensor. No RESPONSE FROM PEP BOYS OR EVEN THE CORPORATE OFFICE...JUST A COMPLETE RUN AROUND. HAVE MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AT A RESOLUTION FROM CORPORATE AND I HAVE NO RESOLVE.

Stock levels on the website may not always match whats actually in the store. So youll want to call ahead to avoid a wasted trip. Prices are usually very competitive, especially if you can catch a good promotion. Wait time can be a bit longer than expected, even with an appointment. The staff is professional and the wait area is clean.

Its always interesting to see just how quickly the bill total adds up. If nothing else Manny is a personable service manager. Accommadations are a little seedy as expected, which makes a quick visit more preferred.

Their more than a tire shop. I know GMC is in good hands. Only place I take him. Manny was up front about what was needed to be taken care of right now. He helped me find the best deal for my budget. I called on advance to inquire about a sale on tires I read online. I met a true friend in Michael the Pep Boys associate who took my call. Courteous and patient he explained every thing I needed to know. That said, I scheduled an immediate appointment. When I arrived Mario welcomed me explained he didnt have a complete set of tires Michael and me dicussed a couple of days earlier but a set of 75 thousand mile rated Cooper tour tires were available for immedate purchase with free installation for just $10 more per tire. Well, it was. no brainer! I didnt hesitate to accept the better tire (the other tires quoted where rated for just 40k miles). All said, I didnt evev pay $10 more per tire instead I paid less and got more. Four highly rate Cooper tires installed, wheel alignment, tire disposing and tax included all for $601 dollars. Yes you heard me right! $ 601!! Oh, and by the way riding high and tight in about 3hrs. So I highly recommend tires at Pep Boys of Homewood, IL 18024 Halsted. Get them a call NO UP SELLING you on services you dont need or ask for! Thats great news!

My daughter was on the hwy returning to college and experienced a squeeling noise when the vehicle was over 50mph. She 1st took the car to different auto shop where they told her they could not help her and would not even look at the vehicle. She then tried Pep Boys where Sean popped the hood and found the return spring on the accelerator had come loose. He then also did a complete check of the brake system to ensure there were no other issues. After test driving the vehicle Sean then sent her back on her way and did not charge her for the assistance. Thank you very much, its nice to know that there are good people out there willing to help.

Shawn went above and beyond for me and I am very grateful!I had made an appt online with a certain tire chosen. When I got there I wanted a different tire and it wasnt in stock. Shawn offered to go to another location ON HIS LUNCH to pick up the four tires! I couldnt believe it bc I was really only paying for 2 tires bc the other 2 were free. Im a rewards member, so I bring our two cars to them for all oil changes and some light maintenance. My experience has been that Ive had two negative experiences that more impacted my time (how long they had my vehicle due to mishaps managing appointments) than a problem as a result of work done to my vehicle - and both times were a result of dealing with a manager named Manny. HOWEVER, I have had nothing but awesome experiences with Sean whenever he has been there to take care of us. Honestly, Sean always goes far above and beyond, takes personal ownership of situations, and has helped me out tremendously on a number of occasions. Give that man a raise. Seriously, give him a raise! Overall though as well, all of the techs and mechanics that I have interacted with have been super polite and helpful - even for things like plugging a tire. Ill keep coming back. Thank you!

Had a great experience here today, went in for an oil change and was treated nicely and with professionalism. I am big on customer service due to bad experiences at prior shops but Jessi was great! He helped me with my appointment and answered all of my questions. He was nice, very informative, had a great personality and made me feel welcomed. Definitely will be returning in the near future and will recommend them to friends and family for future services.

Horrendous customer service, employees give customers the runaround when it comes to servicing their vehicle, and also poses a potential health risk to their customers because of their lack of not properly fixing customer’s cars.This location lied to a customer claiming that their vehicle had been fixed and was ready to be driven off, only for the customer to find out that their vehicle has not been fixed after almost getting into a wreck within minutes of them driving their car off of the Pep Boys lot. This is completely unacceptable and they should be held accountable, and reported. If they are unable, or unwilling to fix customers cars they should not be accepting any vehicles from any customers.

I needed a car battery. As soon as I walked in the door (out of the 20 below cold) I was greeted/welcomed by an employee asking my needs. I was out with battery in hand in less than 10 minutes. They even offered to install the battery for free (1-hour wait because of the weather) but I was in a rush. Would have been nice if I had the time to wait! I will not be going back to this location. I had an appointment for an basic express oil change. I arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment. It took 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me at the counter and there were 3 men working besides the laborers. I had to sit in that nasty waiting room where there were ants and wait for 2 hours. During my wait time I asked the guy whats taking so long? He said we have to finish the other cars before you. Well whats the point in having an appoint for an express oil change if youre not going to honor it. He proceeded to tell me they dont offer express services! Excuse me there are posters up everywhere. They also have a sign that states if youre not satisfied for any reason you can get a full refund..well needless to say that didnt happen either.

This place is terrible! They have had my car for seven days and absolutely nothing has been done. It was covered under warranty and they still gave me the runaround. Steer clear of this location. Customer service was poor and there was no sense of urgency in handling my concerns. Really bad experience!

Terrible terrible service. My car air went out. It is under warranty. The warranty company sent us to Pep Boys in Homewood. We brought our car in on July 2nd. We were told the person who works on air conditioning comes in on Thursday morning. We got there early Thursday morning. No one called us back that day. Called Friday. No 9ne answer the phone. Went up there, they said they were waiting on a response from the warranty company. So we waited a week. It is now July 9th. Nothing. They wont answer. My husband called the warranty company and they said they havent received any calls from Pep boys. Now we are in the parking lot waiting for them to give us my car back that they didnt do anything on. They dont deserve the one star.

Took an hour and a half to pay for services when picking up my truck. They have over 8 registers but only 1 worked. They had to reboot the card machine 3 times before it finally worked. Also, I dropped my truck Wednesday for rear brake service, the tech noted on paperwork that I was using $50 off service coupon that I also showed when dropping off my truck but when picking it up they wouldnt honor the techs handwritten note of the coupon I had to locate and provide it then for them to accept. Of course when accessing the Pepboys website, because its an instore coupon for Pepboys, its down for maintenance. I would think all service representatives should be aware of their stores coupons especially for common services like brakes. Needless to say I was finally able to get to the coupon but still then had the before mentioned issues trying to check out. Ridiculous!

This location managed to get the services I needed completed. Four stars only because I was there from 830 am until 215 pm for brake pads, tire change and oil change/routine maintenance. A bit of a long wait but their customer service was good and the employees did the best they could. Way better service than Matteson location, by far.

Oil was changed quickly and tires were rotated. I thought the tires were supposed to switch sides on a rotation, but Im no mechanic so Im not sure. No air was put in the tires. No offers for other needed services. Oil gauge was not reset. However, I was pleased with the service overall and do plan to return in the future. These were just ways I believe it could go from a good experience to a great one.

They installed a new tire for me and said I needed a new tpms sensor for my tire, an extra 100 dollars only to find out they never synched it to my car, I brought it again to them and they kept saying it was synched to my car even though the light was on the dashboard. brought it to a buddy that works at Firestone with the device to see if it works and it was never connected lol what a joke never coming back again!

I was greeted promptly and asked what I needed done. I was given a realistic timeline and told I would be called when my vehicle was ready to be picked up. I was called twice with status updates and questions regarding additional services that would be helpful and/or necessary to complete what needed to be done. When I informed the employee that I would not be able to afford anything additional, she was very helpful in making sure I could get what I needed at a reasonable price. Overall, it was as pleasant an experience as I think can be possible when getting a vehicle serviced.

Bad customer service. I was told it would be done by a certain amount of time and waited the whole day just to be told they wouldn’t work on it that day. They didn’t bother to let me know what was going on during the whole day...I had to ask. Expect to wait longer than you should.

I walked in not knowing exactly what I needed but Mike knew. Immediately on my drive home I knew he was right with the tires he suggested for me. I went for a wheel alignment and after, my car was veering to the left so bad I called them back.. the only thing they said was that the tech did the job properly.. what a lie!!! Terrible service and awful prices are just the surface. Told me that the service I needed was only going to take half an hour. It took way longer than that. No manager on duty to complain. Never coming here again. In fact, I am done with Pep Boys period. $40 to put the tire on the rim? Really? No thank you. Unprofessional,Ignorant, and Unorganized.Are just a few ways to describe the customer service at this Pep Boys in Homewood. They absolutely dont have the customer in mind.I dropped my vehicle off yesterday at 6PM with George. He said they would look at it at least by 1PM the next day.(Keep in mind he seemed very incompetent and uninterested.) Today I received no notification regarding my vehicle status. No call, no email, no nothing. I called them at 3PM and spoke with George who accidentally admitted that he forgot my car was there!!! He let that slip and tried to cover his tracks by saying oh I remembered we just havent had a chance to pull it in yet . BS, I asked him how long it would be before they could get it in. He had to go check with the technician, he had me on hold for 10 minutes. So I hung up and called back. He answers and says oh I was is just coming back to the phone before you hung up. BS again, then tells me the technician has two cars ahead of me and gets off at 6PM!!! By this time its almost 4PM. No way they were gonna get my car in before 6. I knew it and he knew it all he had to do was be honest. I was fed up and went to pick the car up, George wasnt there to my surprise. There was a line of waiting people who all looked frustrated. I told whoever the other uninterested guy that was at the desk to cancel the order so I can take the car. This has been a huge inconvenience for me and very upsetting. They are very unprofessional and incompetent when it comes to their job. People like them give off the stereotypes that you dont want to assume. Please hire new people who actually want to work and know how to do their job at the highest professional level.

Ronnie, store manager, was extremely helpful and very nice. I came in with a check engine light. He pulled the code and told me it was a MAF sensor. He advised me on options between cleaning it and replacing. Even showed me how I’d do it on my engine. Great service! Thank you Ronnie!

Vic, George and their mechanic, Greg helped me get going on my way back home. Greg identified what is causing the noise on my Dodge Caravan engine. I would have waited to get the parts replaced if I am not pressed for time. I recommend the teams professionalism and I hope it would stay that way. I have seen some negative reviews from this store but I did not experienced anything negative in this visit.

I went to this location for new tires and an alignment.I checked-in early at 8am and everything went fine.They said they would give me a call when the vehicle was ready.Around 2pm after no phone-call, I made the call and (after several holds) am told that the vehicle is ready. Its been ready...Fine. I pickup my car.After 2 days, my front passenger *brand NEW* tire goes completely flat. Mind you: It was not flat on my way to work, but when I came back to the parking lot, it was completely deflated.After driving very slowly to the nearest gas station down the street I find that I cannot fill up the tire. The air valve is not visible.I was so confused (I am not a car person) and prepared to swap the entire tire for my spare just to make it home: thats when I realized that the lugnuts were so heavily torqued that manual force proved to be impossible! [They used a hydraulic tool to overtighten instead of tightening it by hand with a torque wrench which--- in an emergency situation like replacing a flat, puts the customer in a very tough position, esp. in the middle of winter].In addition to this: after removing the hubcap I discovered that the technician had actually installed the hub on top of the air valve w/o a cap. Causing the spout to bend and release gradual air.... its almost sabotage.Im currently in the process of negotiating a new tire and so far Jesse Ramos (the service attendant who has been overseeing this job) has not offered any reparations for the erroneous installment of the orginal tire. They expect me to pay for a brand new tire.I hope this can all be settled fairly and that it was just a lazy mistake. But as of now, Im not satisfied with their service by a long shot.

The variety they have for custom part or accessories its not the greatest. They only carry for pick up trucks. And to pay at the cashier its horrible, they have 4 or 5 employees standing around and only one taking care of customers. NEED TO DO BETTER. CUSTOMERS COME FIRST NOT YOUR PHONE OR CHIT CHAT.

I went to Pepboys because I though I was in need of a headlight. However, Jessie Ramos came to my rescue. He was the most honest Service Representative I have ever meet. He examine my heard light and noticed that my bulb was not out but just need to be tighten. Can you imagine that honesty in todays society! Stopped in to ask if they can check my tire pressure since light came on and was given the 3th degree about it. They finally checked only 2 of the tires because they didn’t want to check all of them and they expected me to know which tire needed the air. Will stick with my usual location in Crestwood which is where I usually go to get my oil changes and service from. They have good customer service and they never give me a hard time over something as simple as checking my tire pressure.

Took my cars for wheel alignment, and the guy who serviced my car damaged two wheel covers. This happened too long time ago at the pep boys on Halsted street. When you take your car to pep boys take your wheel covers off before you go, because they will damage them.

Worked With Mike on getting new tires and installing a power steering sensor. Good work was done, everything was done with in a few hours. they do have honest people working there.

My last post was kind of evil towards Pep Boys so I have taken it down. Just be honest with your customers and your company will be a success. The 3 stars is based on them reaching out to me and I wouldnt want no one to lose their job over my comment that I posted earlier because that could possibly happen.

Ordered tires and set installation time online only to show up and be asked if I was dropping off car, I was told they only have one worker and they didnt know when my car would be done. If I could give zero stars I would.Walked back up to this shop three hours after my appointment to have tires installed and my car wasnt touched. Took my keys and cancelled because I am now late for another appointment. People there could care less.STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION AT ALL COST.

You could not ever never ever do anything to make me ever go to the PEPBOYS in Homewood location ever again... they over charged me for my part and charged me for 2 hours of labor and my vehicle was only in the back for 41 minutes... they are as crooked as a snake .... and my vehicle is terrible now...
