I had to speak with two employees to realize that no one at this store knows much of anything, nor do they seem to care about their knowledge deficit.

Its nice in there. It was alot of stuff in the aisles. Hard to find help and when you do some employees dont know where stuff is.

Menards is amazing.The management is def under qualified though.Home depot it is.As far as this region goes.

Please do not buy shower doors here, missing hardware. Sandy an employee wants me to bring back the whole thing when part of it is installed… I told him my contractor is already charging me extra time, and he says the most ridiculous thing “you dont have any picture?” I said that doesnt matter but in fact I do have pictures. After I show him he said hold on and agrees to give me the missing parts! This is such a hassle! Please shop somewhere professional!

Too often the Homewood store is out of what I want such as today. I want dogeared fence pickets and I have to go to a different store because Homewood is out of stock as usual all the other Menards for miles around not only have hundreds they have many styles of them. I and many people I know liked the old store better. Out of the Super Menards this one Aint so super.

I came here Shopping for some appliances hoping service and pricing would be better than other department stores. As a devoted Muslim, when time for prayer came, I asked if there was an empty area in this huge store for me to Dedicate 5-10 minutes for prayer, I was told that the Manager at the store here ( was given the name Rico ) said “Menard’s policy doesn’t allow that” !?!?An empty area in a huge department store for 5-10 Mins to dedicate to prayer is against Menard’s policy?!?!I asked another employee there, because I had a hard time believing that, so he kindly directed me to an empty quite area, and I performed my prayer........

I went to buy blinds they had exactly what I was looking for. The guy who cut my was blinds was very nice.

This is my local store and I love going to but in the last 3 three visits I havent been able to find the spray paint I have been using for a project. Not a problem but it makes me wonder if I should switch up colors. I like restoring old furniture. Otherwise its always a pleasure to walk into.

Javier and Michael helped me find several items. They were very knowledgeable about Earthwise electrical weed wacker spools replacements. If you need any assistance this is the place to shop.

My visit to Menard was great

Horrible experience. The customer service at this place is absolutely abysmal. I went in to purchase materials to finish my garden. I needed some paving stones which I successfully found. Really nice ones that fit my needs perfectly. I was thrilled and ready to purchase. But, trying to get customer service in order to generate the ticket for the delivery was next to impossible. One poor soul was working and a long line was forming. Other employees just standing around doing nothing. But hey, I waited my turn, got my ticket and scheduled the delivery. Subsequently I successfully found the concrete to do my job but I also needed a trowel. Well heaven forbid that was a mistake. I was sent to multiple departments none of which had the needed tool. Despite asking multiple personnel, not a single employee was knowledgeable enough to tell me where to go. After walking around the store for thirty minutes, trying to find it on my own, I made a final inquiry and was told to try flooring. The flooring department was not clearly labeled so I asked a guy in paints to direct me. He was just the icing on the cake, or, more precisely, the straw that broke the camels back. He could not have been ruder or more disinterested. His attitude was horrible. At this juncture Id had enough. I left my cart full of garden items right there in paints, went back and canceled the delivery on the pavers and have vowed never to return to Menards in Homewood, IL ever again. Maybe Ill try the Menards store in Tinley Park, IL to see if the problem is the chain in general or the Homewood store specifically. The Menards store on Halsted in Homewood really has some training and personnel issues they need to deal with. Just sad. Awful. Homewood, never again!

He was very helpful, kind, and a great man. I also received help out by a young man Steven. He was also very kind, patient, and even showed me how to put the seats down in my car. Wanted to buy a product that was reduced. When at the register it rang up $15. More than the tag. Told the cashier who’s register was a couple feet away from the product. She refused to come look at the tag. Then the person that came to look was refusing to honor the price. Mind you there were like 30 stacked in front of the sign. She tried to find a manager and apparently they were all busy. Asked us to wait like 10 minutes for the manager, walked away without saying she’d be back. Then after talking to someone in her ear piece said they are sorry for that but it’s too much of a price difference to honor. Needless to say we did not buy any of the items we went for. And will not be returning. That is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Love Menards! Ive bought a few groceries since the pandemic. They have milk, butter, various beverages, snacks & canned goods.

Forget about real help if you need it. The employees gives you a bad attitude to let you know they really dont want to help you or they really dont know their jobs. Its becoming a waste of time to shop there.

We tried our best, probably about a half hour, to find the cow ottoman we came to this specific store to buy but couldnt find it for the life of us. we surrendered and asked joey for help since there was evidently 19 in stock and he located it in overstock and got it for us about an hour before closing when there is obviously better stuff to be doing. thank you so much for making our night happy and successful!

Menards is my favorite store to purchase my woodworking supplies. Their 11% rebate program is a major incentive for shopping at here. Their salespeople are very knowledgeable and willing to help locate the item/items you need. Im very satisfied with my shopping experiences here.

I had to pick up wood materials for a shed and it took me 3 hours walking the warehouse yard to collect everything, Not enough staff associates to help the customers. Next time I need wood material Im going to Hone Depot

It was hard to find help and I did get one gentleman that did do his best treated wood with next to none that that was there was damaged out of stock on screws wood and then to top it off I get to the register and the manager on the front end just want to tell somebody with attitude just attitude not a good experience at Menards on today but Ill try again as usual this is a Homewood store not a good experience

My daughter and I stopped by to pick up a few things the store was clean everything was there that I was looking for with the exception of one extract that they dont carry. My overall experience was Grand. If Im ever in a particular neighborhood again I will make it my business to stop by Menards.

I love Menards i prefer them over home depot but thats my opinion. I think that they just have more things and better sales and prices and the employees there atleast the ones I deal with have better knowledge of things than other places..

On several occasions, I went to inquire about home fencing for a business project. I swear the staff in that department was just outright unfriendly. They are lucky they have a job and should be happy they do. They made me feel like I was bothering them with my questions to help me find what I was looking for. If it wasnt for the cashiers apologizing and making me feel welcome, trust me I would not be back. Of course I could go to Home Depot, but dont like their overall business support system. Menards, please train your staff with better customer service.
