October 18th around 4:45pm - I would give them 0 stars if I could . I took my time shopping just to get to a register and they have a sick employee (at register 3). That was Rude & Coughing uncontrollably. The customer behind me said “You sound like me, when my sinuses was acting” her response was “it’s more than that, Everybody going to get sick”as she proceeded to work. I left out the store with my groceries and went back in the store and asked for the manager name and number . When I met a guy who said he was the manager & would handle it . COVID-19 is REAL my husband lost his life to the battle so I DO NOT TAKE SITUATIONS like this lightly . CORPORATE WILL BE INFORMED ! They need to shut the place down completely if they can not provide proper guidelines in place to protect customers and find better employees that will not come to work sick due to safety for yourself and others. This is a place where we BUY FOOD for crying out loud .

Incredible produce and people! Everyone here is extremely helpful and friendly, prices are fair and their meats are delicious! I make an effort to shop here at least once a week!

Just a place with that small town, down home feeling with great food for a take out lunch or dinner. Customer service was nice and honest! Will definitely shop there again.

I went to Piggly Wiggly on Montgomery Hwy to get a few groceries. The employees were so polite and friendly. They helped me with everything, some things I could not find. All of the same faces hugged my neck and asked me how I was feeling and if I was feeling any better. This goes to show you that those employees are compassionate and know their customers well. I was helped to my car by Harold. The shelves were impeccable all straight and full. The produce was being stocked and was all beautiful. Every employee working. This is how a business should run.

Even though this place is pretty old, it is very well kept, organized and clean. Its literally like going back in time 30 years ago. Great experience!!

Absolutely best Homewood area grocery store! Now that Sykes after 66 years has been forced off at 18th street. And all of the small businesses that have been there for 30 plus years are all leaving 18th and is tragic. Yet get ready Homewood residents for the only stores to be allowed to afford $46 a square foot on 18th street. If small businesses will have to not renew their lease and a change store will go into its place and Homewood 18th street will become the summit. Homewood residents need to take action for this not to happen because youre losing what you move therefore and paid 600000 to a million a house for 2 bedroom

We recently moved to Birmingham temporarily. We have missed hometown, small town grocery stores and this one is perfect . The owner is so polite, the produce is fresh, the selection is awesome . The only grocery store in Birmingham for me.

Its been a while since I have come to the Piggly Wiggly in Homewood and since then they still are operating at a 5 star level. I was greeted by some of the kindest people and was made to feel right at home. In this pandemic climate we are in, it makes my heart sing to see such dedication to excellence.

The store is clean and the received good proper service. The wine selection is phenomenal. If I was wine consumer I would know where to go and dont have to wonder if they would run out.

Great staff, good deli, breakfast is the best meal to catch.

They carry the big spoon sea salt chocolate ice cream which is dairy free and yummy!

The egg salad sandwich here is like eating heaven. The bread isnt squishy, the egg white is firm, just a hint of sweetness. I wish I knew how they do it.

I 💕 this store and they dont charge 10 percent more like other piggy wiggly s do they are not a surplus store so be sure to check your receipt before you leave other stores how can they charge is tax 2 times there tax and state tax thats why I love this store great service and no double tax.

Incredible beer and wine selection. The deli consistently has great hot and cold, prepared food, as well as pastries, pies, and cakes that are reasonably priced. The produce department could be classified as unreliable because of the availability and quality of many items. The meat department and the butchers willingness to ensure the customer’s happiness is by far above average. The store is clean for the most part. While recognizing that this location is fairly old and expansion would probably be next to impossible, the store is dated and could use some updates. A prime example is the public restrooms. I am certain that the public ones are the ones shared with the employees. I would be embarrassed to allow my own employees in any of our stores — let alone our customers — to utilize the restrooms.

Have shopped at this Piggly Wiggly for about 35 years. Produce and meat are very good. Butchers are very great and willing to cut meat to your specifications. Managers and all staff are very friendly. This is our favorite grocery store by far.

Chicken salad is too soupy or sometimes too chunky to enjoy at Homewood location. I wish the Southside location would have a choice of the chocolate pudding and not just that with oreos added.

Great, fresh selection for a small convenient grocery store. Staff is TREMENDOUS! Friendly, helpful, all around makes this place a great grocery shopping experience.

I bought a hen from there and it smelled, and the skin had slid away from the meat and some slime was noticeable. When I bought it, I couldnt see how it looked. I will be returning the hen tomorrow, no dressing for Sundays dinner.

The friendliest and most helpful people work at the pig! I live within walking distance without a car and its nice to know i can get local farm raised beef and eggs and organic food. You may have to look, but it wont be hard to find. Just ask! They love to help. The deli is outstanding!

This is more than just a grocery store. Their breakfast is southern fast food at its best. You get your choice of cheese or regular grits, eggs, bacon and a biscuit (there’s other breakfast options if that’s your fancy) all for $3.84 tax included. They include a fork & knife so need to worry as your running late to work.I question myself, why I’ve been wasting my money elsewhere for breakfast.The store has been around forever, situated in a nice section of Homewood. The employees are always very nice and cheerful, making your shopping experience feel appreciated.If you miss breakfast... they serve lunch as well.You even have the convenience of the grocery store for whatever your needs may be.Enjoy. You won’t regret it!!

The best grocery store in Homewood. USDA prime beef cuts at the butchers counter. Great beer and wine selections. Full service all around, and will even carry ones purchases out to your vehicle, if one chooses.

They were so very nice. They couldnt help me because I needed a downstairs Restroom they only had an upstairs one. I kept telling the Manager I believe he was anyway that its no problem, its not your fault I kept saying. He and other staff kept apologizing. This is one of the best places to buy wine and beer in Birmingham and has the best prices on wine.

I was looking for a specific cider beer and was told it would be at Piggly Wiggly. I called the store first to see if they had what I wanted. Not only did someone answer the phone, but I was also sent directly to the person who was able to assist me. Heather was knowledgeable and found what I was looking for! She pulled it for me and it was ready when I got there. This was my first time ever shopping at Piggly Wiggly and it was a great customer service experience.

I love this location. I can usually find a good sale on snacks and other items. I also love that it opens at 6 am so that I can get lunch and snacks before heading to work. The deli breakfast is also delicious and reasonably priced.

Consistently excellent service. Its a small store so dont expect a great diverse selection of stuff. But for what it tries to be, its really excellent. The only real downside is that its quite pricey.

We have shopped at PW for close to 40 years. It is simply a great store. Good selection of merchandise at competitive prices. Owner, all management and staff are very friendly. We love near by & often go to PW 2 or 3 times in a day! One of our favorite stores!!!

Great store. People have always been friendly and helpful. Beer and wine selection is by far one of the best in town and without a doubt the best prices. Have never turned away from the produce or meats, consistently top quality. Not sure why some complain about the store. Maybe they dont understand that in order for them to offer low prices, they cant have the most up-to-date building. I think it looks completely fine. Also like the offerings from local businessses and farms. Great store.

This is the most friendly down home down the street grocery store I have visited in the state of Alabama. I am a proud customer. They try to satisfy everyones needs. If they dont have it they will try to get it and the beer and wine selection is AMAZING. Johnny Miller the store manager is absolutely excellent at what he does. 10 stars.

The wine selection here is out of this world good. Great bottles from $15 to $150 ish. Staff is super friendly and have never had to wait more than two minutes in line.
