Soraya helped my husband and I both times we walked into the store and she remembered us from a couple months before and knew which rugs we had looked at previously! Recently purchased a beautiful rug for my living room and had a great experience at Nilipour! Soraya was so helpful and kind, explaining everything from how the rug is made to care to cleaning. I was unsure about what I wanted, and Nilipour came highly recommended by several friends. I took a couple of fabric swatches and a throw pillow in with me, and Soraya immediately pointed to a rug hanging on the wall and said “that’s the one” and she was right! Looked at several other rugs in the store, but ultimately came back to her first suggestion. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I’ll definitely be a return customer.

I had been sent to Nilipour on a recommendation and it did not disappoint! We had a rug that was in rough shape between pets and sitting at a house under construction open to the elements for months! I took an old rug here to be repaired and without permission Gorilla tape was put on the back to hold together weak areas. It is impossible to remove the tape without destroying some fibers. I was told I could put Goof off on the tape, which I believe is a petroleum product. Surely Goof Off is not recommended for antique fibers and I would have to have the rug cleaned again to get the Goof Off removed. I feel violated. Surely they should have asked my permission before they did this. I expected sewing and patching, not tape. I am very disappointed and angry.

To see a positive review here, I assume they are under new ownership. They cleaned a couple of rugs for me. When I dropped ofc the rugs they were barely civil. Each time I picked up the cleaned rugs, the “quoted, in writing price” had increased dramatically. When I barely protested and suggested they could have called to re the price increase, the senior woman raised her voice to me and threatened to hold my rug hostage (Woman, u gotta be kidding. Are times that bad?). I like to have trust in the people I buy from so I purchased rugs elsewhere after that They aren’t the only game in town.

Wonderful shopping experience, high quality rugs in a wide range of price ranges. We were able to purchase a rug that was far superior to department store rugs, and was exactly what we wanted. I took a rug in to get cleaned, it was old and a little smelly. It took a week and when I got the rug back it was like a brand new rug, no odor what so ever other than smelling like a wool rug is supposed to smell. They did a great job and turn around time was great! I will be using them again in the future. Thanks so much!

I brought a 20 year old hand sewn turkemon rug purchased in Saudi Arabia to these guys to have it cleaned. The senior lady appeared to not know what materials were in the rug and disputed the value of the rug based on a written appraisal from 10 yrs ago. This should have been an indication to go elsewhere but since they are the specialists, I trusted them to clean and treat it. When it came time to pick it up, the lady argued with me about how it should be folded and not rolled (despite what I’d been told by the appraiser and all of the literature I could find) and was extremely condescending to me and my wife. We’d already paid the $250 up front when I dropped it off. I’d have to say they don’t seem to be very knowledgeable and lack in customer service. I could not recommend them in good conscience.

Being one of the largest store fronts in Birmingham they have so many styles to choose from. Soraya always knowledgable, organized and engaging making sure we leave with a great deal or a clean rug.

We have a large hand-woven Persian rug that was once, Im sure, very beautiful, but throughout the years has been loved to pieces. With a puppy and an elderly dog, this rug has had and will continue to receive unpleasant stains. Soraya said they could try to clean and do enzyme treatments, but they couldnt guarantee removal of all of the smells. I agreed to try it since replacing this rug with an equivalent of this size would be upwards of $3000. They were able to get all the smells out and Susan was able to stitch up the holes. We are very pleased with our experience at Nilipour Oriental and would recommend their cleaning services, hands down. I also appreciated how straight-forward, nice and knowledgeable Soraya was and how vast their selection of rugs were; we look forward to purchasing a new rug from them in the future!
