Every time I come to this location, I always have a bad experience. The first time I came, I came to redeem a free full size mascara voucher. I went up to the register and presented the voucher, and the associate stared at me and rudely said “You have to go get it yourself”. I didn’t know I was supposed to grab the mascara on my own, even so she could have said it nicely. The next time I came, I was swatching a few concealers on the back of my hand to see which one was my shade. One of the associates told me “Excuse me, you can’t put that on your skin, I’m sorry” even though all of the makeup testers were open and said “try me” and other customers were testing makeup on themselves. Better off going to the Summit location because they are always super helpful and never rude.
I would like to thank the Sephora representative that helped me out about two weeks ago. I can not remember her name and I misplaced my receipt with her name on it. I think it was Sherri. She was really sweet and very helpful to a newbie in the makeup world. I appreciate your kindness and your help on both of my visits to Sephora.I explained to her that I was having trouble matching my skin tone and she was able to help. She also explained to me that Sephora representatives are well trained to help their clients with this. When it came to checking out she made sure I had everything I needed and she asked me about applying for their credit card and what perks come with it.
Amanda was so kind and knowledgeable in helping me choose the right products after not wearing makeup for the past COVID year. All of the staff from the greeter to the register were friendly and professional.
BEWARE- Clerks are friendly but they have sales goals and force you to get things you dont need and then wont allow you to return them. Then they offer you their rewards card which is just another credit card- very deceiving!
My first experience here was bad. I went in looking for some matte lipstick. I asked the associate there that I was looking for a matte lipstick one that would stay on longer, possibly waterproof. I specifically asked her if she had that. She said yes. Anyway I spent 80 in there that day. The next day I put it on. I went out to eat wiped my mouth and all of the lipstick came off on the napkin. Mad was a understatement. I feel like the associate was just trying to make a sale. I think I will be giving Ultra my money for now on.
The customer service here is really bad. Won’t be to long till they turn enough people off that they will be forced down to close. I understand that there is Covid-19 right now but that doesn’t excuse you from treatIng your guest rudely. Not shopping here anymore. First thing you should do when your see a guest is greet them not stare them down with the meanest face and say you can’t come in. If you don’t like your job then quit. This happened on Friday September 25 around 3pm
I arrived at this Sephora about 15 minutes after they were supposed to open. The lights were turned off as I was walking towards the store so I sat down outside near the door to wait. A few minutes later two employees walked out, locked the door, looked straight at me, said nothing, then turned around and walked out of the mall.As someone who has worked as a retail manager for 20+ years (three of those years at a different Sephora), this was one of the most unprofessional, stuck-up things Ive ever witnessed. Im not mad about them being closed--sh*t happens. But seeing a customer and walking away without saying anything paired with leaving the store closed during business hours without so much as a note on the door for potential customers is rude as hell.This isnt the first issue Ive had at this Sephora, but it will be the last. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that YOU, your business, and your hard-earned money are appreciated.
This location has horrible customer service and is completely unprofessional. The weekend of 9/19/20 I went to Sephora to pick up a product. I’ve never been to this location and upon walking up to the front (I was wearing my mask) one of the managers was standing there with 3 employees right behind her. I paused at the doorway thinking maybe there was a limit for how many people could be in there in case I needed to wait. The manager, in a very aggressive tone, said “Your mask needs to be on at ALL TIMES and you are not to touch anything at any time.” My mom who was with me (and also wearing a mask) was behind me and couldn’t hear the manager so she asked her if she could repeat it. The manager just stared at me and then finally in such a rude tone started repeating what she said. At this point I interrupted her and said “Never mind.” and went to just leave. The managers and employees started shaking their heads so we let them know we have absolutely no problem with those rules, it’s the way in which it is stated to customers and how you treat them. It was the rudest tone I’ve ever heard from an employee while shopping.Later that day we went to Sephora at The Summit and we had absolutely phenomenal customer service. When we walked up the employee who was smiling said “Hello! Welcome to Sephora! Have you been back since we’ve changed our process? If not let me tell you all about it.” THAT is how you do customer service the right way. If you live in the Birmingham area don’t waste your time at the Galleria location. Go to The Summit.
Terrible experience. Rude, rude, rude. Not sure how this store will survive in the Galleria. Will never go back to this store. No one was in there. You would think they would be more accommodating to someone looking for something specific. Instead just you are not allowed to touch anything. Not Welcome to Sephora how can we help you? I walked out. Rudely the greeter called behind me Have a nice day..... No you have a nice day and never again. Go to Ulta, or the Summit.

I usually never do bad reviews, but trash service years ago. Tried to get my mother a perfume that didn’t smell like dessert and the employee got patronizing. Never again 💯
Love the staff at the Hoover location. Very friendly and eager to help with any questions about color and application. They’ve helped my confidence in applying makeup go up. Super sweet women!
Staff is very eager to help with any skincare or makeup needs or concerns. Extremely knowledgeable of their products as well. The store is very well kept and always clean.On the downside... Your boyfriend will hate it. But go anyway!

The staff are super friendly every time I go in this location. The y’all blonde headed girl gave me some makeup tips and was super friendly. They will let you have samples of foundation if you can’t decide which one to try.

I’ve been in here a few times and never had a problem, today a sweet lady who worked there named Taryn (I believe is how it’s spelled) really stood out to me! She was super helpful and efficient- she was smiling and looked as if she was happy to be doing her job. Aside from her assisting me with great customer service- her great vibes lingered with me all day. It’s crazy how one persons smile can make your day so much better!! I would definitely shop here again.
I have know idea what has changed about this place years since Ive been then but the staff was almost to Friendly its like when you go to a restaurant and your waiter comes an greets you take your drinks an order an while youre eating they come 40 times 2 check on you. Like can I enjoy my meal..In this case can I try or test a product by myself. Every time I tested something someone was there..I almost left. But I didnt.. You all need to pull it together..
Im not much of a makeup kinda girl but Ive decided to try doing my own for my wedding. Felicia did my bridal consult, was very polite, helpful and patient with me. She did a great job with my makeup and giving me the exact look I wanted.
Experienced horrible service from lady working register. I was given a horrible look when I asked to exchange a product I bought. She then said let me find someone to help you. After chatting. With an associate (they talk then look at me, and continued doing this) another associate comes to help me after about 3 min. (As she was with another guest). The lady who color matched me was very sweet and I had no issue with her. I go to check out and get the same rude women. My concern is why can’t they all color match?? Or assist costumers? And why is only one working on floor with customers while others talk about customers. Will not be going back to this location.
Had my makeup for prom done here!! Such a great environment, the cast member who was doing my makeup came to meet me right away and was ready to do my makeup even though I was early. She made me feel like a prom princess!! Honestly the best makeup application Ive ever had. Yes $50 is expensive for the average person to get their makeup done for one night, but remember the $50 goes towards not only the application but $50 worth of products also,so its like getting one or the other for free. I would definitely have my makeup done here again and recommend it to anyone who wants a special look :)

Im not much of a make-up person but I went in here to get some red lipstick. I was not initially helped until I went up to someone to ask about help. Once I got her attention, she attempted to walk me around the store for different red lipsticks, I stopped at one specific one to try on, and then she disappeared. i wont be back to that one.

Once you find someone to help you they are amazingly knowledgeable in helping you find the color and the type of product that works best for you. Very patient while you are deciding also.
I love Sephora! Every brand of makeup and beauty product imaginable under one roof. I was able to find what I needed and then some. The staff SUPER friendly and helpful! This place is girly girl or guy heaven!

Very rude staff! First time visiting and I Was followed around like I was about steal something but never offered help!! Went to Ulta next and they were MUCH more friendly and helpful. Will be doing my shopping at Ulta!!
Staff didnt seem like they wanted to help my wife. They asked if she needed any help but when she would ask something they would respond and then walk away. Need to be more attentive to your customers than to your coworkers
I had an appointment for a foundation match and I arrived early. I have never stepped foot in a Sephora since makeup really isnt my thing, but I have been having some trouble with my current foundation. The 2 women at the register were very rude. I walked up to them while they were having a conversation and politely waited. After about a minute and a half of being ignored I finally asked them if they could help me. I was told to stand over there and someone will be with you in a minute and they went back to their conversation. If I didnt need help matching and finding a foundation I wouldve walked out then. The girl that did my foundation match was very sweet and knowledgeable however, but Im going to have to return it because it doesnt have as much coverage as Im looking for. After reading some reviews on customers having problems on returning products, in half tempted to go to a different sephora to take it back.

I wish I could get the name of the lady who helped me bc she deserves to be fired. Made me very angry. None of their technology was working. I am very very upset currently.
