Great experience every time! It can be crowded on the weekends, but they do a great job moving customers in and out. Obviously great prices, generally great stock, and always great customer service. A pretty solid wine selection, and the attached liquor store is pretty nice as well.

We needed something from Costco on our way to the beach, and we were able to stop here and get it without any trouble. This is an extremely busy Costco, but up to the standards that all the stores have. We absolutely love costco!

We had a flat tire on the night of Aug. 13, 2021, in Birmingham, AL, on the way to Atlanta. The only tire store that we found which was not closed at 7:30pm on that Friday night was this Costco Tire Store. Due to our spare tire was also low in air pressure, we had to walk to a near-by gas station to fill it up with air and installed it and drove 16 miles to this Costco. By the time we arrived, it was already 8:08pm, 22 min away from its closing time. Jennifer and Casey helped us check on the flat tire and told us to get a new tire instead of repairing it for safety reasons. With their timely help, we were able to get back on road and arrived in Atlanta that night.We are thankful that Costco was still open at that time and also the staff were very helpful with our tire. Without their help, we may have to stay in a hotel for the night and fix the tire next morning. So appreciate their willingness to help us even if they had to close the shop later than the normal business hours. Love Costco even more!!

Costco is, well, Costco. If you need a great deal of whatever youre looking for, Costco is the place to go. The staff is friendly and can always point you in the right direction.

Costco is a real time saver and value for quality food Choices. Not to mention the friendly associates and great gas prices on fuel with cleaner and conditioner added in. Even the old wheels sound nice running on it. Greg at the pumps was so kind as to bring me a water out one evening post closing when I had locked myself out of the car. And Laura even lent me her own cold storage bag, so my perishables wouldnt spoil, while I waited for the extra key to arrive with family. Cory from tires helped to get me what ice was available from the kitchen area. These are typical, kind actions from these guys. You couldnt ask for more helpful friends at a business you frequent. Celeste at the door, and Drew out busy with the buggies always have a smile and kind word. Pleasant all the way around, making grocery, medicine, or gas stops seem less of a chore.

I like shopping here at Costco but they really need to consider opening another store in the Birmingham area to alleviate the congestion at their gas pumps and in their parking lot. The amount of people is ridiculous!

Gas prices are usually around 20 cents cheaper than the rest of the area. My husband and I have been to many Costcos and they often have the exact same products (even the same brands) as every other Costco (we recently moved to the Birmingham area). This one does not, unfortunately. We have already found that three of our weekly buy items are simply not carried at this store. Kind of disappointing. But, cant beat the deals and always friendly employees!

I make a Costco run at least once a month They almost always have what I need and the selection is fabulous. Best of all, the lines may be long but real employees check me out. None of the do-it-yourself checkout lines like their biggest competitor. Service is Paramount at Costco.

Vast selection for bulk buying. They have a good selection of wines and a huge meat counter. Don’t go looking for a lot of help here. This is all about self serve. Great prices too. I will def be going back.Urban CowgillSept 2021

Was able to find everything we needed except Bleacher seats. Asked a few associates and they said they had no idea why they didnt have any or even a spot for them anymore. Other than that always get everything we need from this store!

I went there with a friend since I have Sams membership not Costcos. Since, I have been to these close competitors frequently some things were noticable. Costco definitely has a better bakery goods and ready food (both frozen and non-frozen). But their fresh produce was not up-to the mark and was not able to impress me. I found some good small red snapper which I couldnt find the city I live. Place was clean so overall like it.

Its very nice...busier than and way bigger than its Montgomery store. For it to be so busy, things moved along very smoothly. Great staff.

Selections for everything offered great variety. The store was neat. It was very crowded but didnt feel that way. They have enough cashiers and attendants that you dont have to ring up your own groceries. Dont get me wrong, you can if you want to. You pull your buggy to the register. The attendant unloads it and they load it back neatly on the other side. The gentleman that checks your receipt at the door actually recognizes you and not just your receipt. He complimented us. I think Im coming back for the compliments. Just paid my membership at Sams but it seems to be worth it to move on. I enjoyed the experience.

It was extraordinarily crowded, but clean and well-stocked, and the excellent employees made check-out very quick. They do have electric wheelchairs available, with large baskets in the front, but they are very slow. If youre in a rush, it would be better to take your own electric scooter/wheelchair, if possible.

Friendly and helpful staff. Wish I got thier names... The two females in electronics were super helpful and knowledgeable.

Found everything that I have been looking for. Was looking for a computer and was unable to even find what I needed online, but their selection was exceptional. They have the very best customer service that I have ever seen. All of their staff went above and beyond to help and seemed happy to do so. I will definitely be a frequent flyer!

My family and I love Costco (Hoover). Their products and location are great but we dread checking out. At the check out line, the employees that arrange your shopping cart just throw and slam your groceries. We came home with a broken canola oil bottle. Our bread and bananas are half smushed by the time we get to our car. Our groceries in general are roughly handled. Our shopping cart is never arranged properly and our groceries are stacked up high where we cant see. If the employees dont like their job I can arrange my groceries myself. I am aware of self-check out but half of the time I am there I have cash and the self checkout does not offer cash in or out. We also like the in-person interactions. Like I said before we love Costco (Hoover) but our check out experience is never great.

My family loves Costco products but their employees are awful every time we go in. We had to switch to Sams club. They don’t have much organic options like Costco but their staff is always super friendly.

The customer service I got from Callellia was the best in years, I have not seen such caring, cheerful person for a while lately. She is the top of representative in this store, her service is phenomenal, I wish her and all people who is working so hard there to keep it up, be healthy and wealthy.

Bought new glasses. Good service, good selection of frames, great prices, great quality. Definitely recommend for prescription eyeglasses. The prices are so good, if you arent a Costco member, its well worth the membership cost to get your glasses there.

First time in a warehouse store on approximately 2 years. Lots of previous products unavailable. Nice helpful people monitoring self checkout and providing food samples.

Costco is always very clean and the staff are always so friendly! The food quality and price match out really well and I always get a good deal! Ive been a customer for two years now and its been worth every penny for my membership. It literally pays for itself and then some, as much as I love food! With the money I save here I can get other things for my family and friends in this time of need.

Always a great experience at Costco. Unfortunately I’m never able to leave that place without spending over $200. Ample parking spaces, and even a liquor store next-door. Also great place to get some low price gas. Visit this Costco at least once per month.

I don’t usually give names in reviews, but this employee deserves to be called out for having a bad attitude. An employee by the name of “Osteen” was unloading buggies and decided he would yell “pull forward and START unloading your groceries” at us. He was rather rude as he said it but I ignored it and started unloading. Then he came back and took over unloading and started throwing our groceries onto the conveyer. Then he rammed the cashier with the buggy and didn’t say a word about it! The guy was obviously extremely agitated about something and was taking it out on everyone around him. Costco, I’d recommend taking that guy out and having a talk with him before he starts an altercation with one of your customers…

A great place to buy bulk material at a good price. If you go here be prepared it is like a nascar race everyone is in a hurry.

This is a pretty good place to shop. Good price because you have to buy in bulk. I wish they would get 57 steak sauce.

Great place to shop for those hard to find rare items! Also a great place to try new products and to buy in bulk! I would not advise doing your weekly shopping here unless youre ok with a $400 trip. Great wine and beer selection and they always have good Kirkland alternative products! Costco is the place to go!!

Aways buy large items especially Kirkland powered detergent. Powdered Tide. oxy-clean 11 lbs size on sale & Kirkland fabric softener. Pinesol double bottles. Baby wipes 900 count & up. These items last a really long time.But best buys are porkchops 🥩, chickens 🐔 roasted or fresh. Ground beef.

Im rating this on the Costco/Sams Club scale. As in, this is a 5 start facility compared to other costcos that Ive been too. This is a great Costco. Clean building that doesnt show excessive aging it wear. It appears to be staffed well. The staff that Ive interacted with have been professional and polite. Gas station is convenient to access and exit.

Great place of course. They came out with a cinnamon bun cream cheese topped cake. If you see it buy it, i would have taken a picture but we eat it. Lol enjoy.

In both Costco that Ive been to one in Birmingham, Alabama and the other one in Montgomery, Alabama you cant find any of the items that they had at first! For instance, the philly cheese steak kit, vegan queso, Welchs 100% juice in variety pack 10oz bottles, large bags of Funyuns, and some other items I used to get! They never have what I really need or want! Right now I feel like my membership is a waste! Im considering try Sams Wholesale next year instead of keeping this membership!

They have a lot of great items but I will never buy the produce again. We got home with a bag of grapefruit and they were molded. Also, the peaches were ruined by the next day.

Went in to get a new membership and 2 associates were pushing the $120 membership. We kept telling them we only wanted the Gold Star member. They kept pushing and after telling them 6 times we only wanted the Gold Star. We finally walked away!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The store is pretty amazing everything in there but the membership they literally started asking personal questions and continued on harassing us about upgrading our membership and getting a credit card and wouldnt take no for an answer. And one of them was the manager my wife literally had to explain she doesnt have a job right now,, none of their business

Always loved our Hoover Costco, and never, NEVER EVER had a single issue until today.I was going for our weekly shopping trip.Going was myself, my wife and my dad.As we were going to check out my wife I needed to go to the restroom so it was myself and my father in the checkout line.As the two guys working the checkout line were into in the buggy ringing us up like picked up two or three pairs of shorts my wife was wanting to get that were in the buggy. They were floral summer shorts for her. I then proceeded to watch one of the guys make a flimsy sign with his hand looking at the shorts and looking at us and insinuating we were gay and continue to laugh about it.As much as I wanted to say something to them I was too angry so I just kept my mouth shut.Unprofessional and disrespectful.

I feel like a kid on Christmas Day when I walk into this place. Its much better than Sams Club.

Past time for a 2nd one of these in Birmingham. Way too crowded and getting in/out of the parking lot with that much traffic is ridiculous.

I dont get it Costco gets worse and worse. Not only are the prices just exorbitant the selection is way down. They still dont have a scan and go function built into their app like Sams club so I still have to go to the front and check out. They do have self checkout but they wont let you use the hand scanner so you have to take everything out of your buggy including the billion pound bulk items and try to position it on top of a scanning device and then sit it on the side area and then finally put it back in your buggy. When my membership lapses we will not be renewing it is not a good value and the experience is so miserable every trip.

Costco is a great store with a wide variety of quality items at good prices. It requires a yearly membership. The base price for the membership is $60. Costco also has a free-standing gas station with the best prices around.

As usual, Costco did not disappoint. It was some time since I had been but still as impressive as always. Great prices, fantastic selection, and very helpful staff. The ONLY negative is this place is SO popular it can at times be hard to find a place to park - challenging at times but overall well worth the effort.

I had to return something that I had gotten on sale. They accepted it and let me buy another for the same price. The customer service person was friendly and efficient. Costco is usually quite full but they work hard at getting people checked out quickly.

My husband and I had a very bad experience when we went to try to get a membership they tried to sell us a higher club membership and the lady would not take no for an answer and then the manager came and she was trying to get us to go higher on a membership also and when they were both extremely pushy I was humiliated because I finally had to tell them I got laid off from a job and we do not have the extra money and we are fortunate to be even getting groceries. I later talked to the manger away from the big line that was behind me, how humiliated I was and how harassed we felt and that we did not even want to shop there it just ruined our whole day and we were so embarrassed and then she said well I can cancel your membership if you want me to. How very extremely rude. I understand it is their job to try to sell a higher membership but there is no need to feel harassed and humiliated.

I have shopped other Wholesale chains before but visiting Costco through the holidays with family shopping changed my life. I have already decided Im joining and even gifting a membership to my parents for this years holiday. You cant beat the prices and talk about great selections with amazing quality! You wont regret it, or rather youll regret you didnt. Save money and pick Costco!

My first 5 star rating. Everything worked smoothly. Check out easy enough check out cashiers. Not like Walmart that never has enough. Only place I have gone into that mandates mask and holds everyone to that mandate. Good job. Felt safe in store.

While we love Costco both online and in person, the Hoover store is becoming too hard to shop at, if you are planning on a Saturday or Sunday may as well pay up a little and go to Publix to avoid being in a cattle car, if you can go during the week and evening hours not so bad.

Costco is a membership warehouse thats a little more upscale than Sams. Very competitive gas prices and their stores brands are generally very high quality.

Lots of shoppers the weekend before Easter Sunday and all tge lines were very long but considering that the checkout process went quickly.

Costco always has great products, and helpful staff. The only challenge with this location is it is too busy. They need another one in the Birmingham area.

With the addition of self-checkout stations, lines here are much better than they used to be.
