I bought this Scarlett 8i6 about 6 months ago. I’ve had nothing but trouble trying to set it up. Since day one it’s been trouble. I wasn’t able to get in touch with the company overseas in England. So I randomly called this guitar center and the manager at the store is amazing. He took the time to make sure that I understood everything that was going on and he even went into the operators manual with me. He had no responsibility whatsoever to do this. It was purchased from another store six months ago and he may I’m not even been able To see the purchase if he looked it up because it was online. But let me just say, I am impressed and I hope that they pay this man enough to keep him there because this type of customer service doesn’t exist anymore. Amazing staff amazing management. I can’t help but suggest you purchase your equipment from the store because the people that operated on more than willing to help you use that equipment..

Mia was very helpful. I had to be at work at 10:30 and I got there at 10 and she helped me get some accessories and check out fast and very sweet. 10/10 would recommend asking her for help!

Sat there in the Audio Center for 40 min and was totally ignored along with 1 other customer. Will take my money elsewhere or order online from now on....

Staff here is always friendly and knowledgeable about promotions and different gear. Ive never really had a bad experience here. I always come here for strings and picks. But Ive occasionally come for something more major. They make sure to answer questions to enable you to fully understand the product youre purchasing and how it will benefit you.

Very helpful staff and friendly people who are very knowledgeable and have have practical experience in music. Jay is a great guy with great knowledge and a very helpful attitude who made it very pleasant to shop there. He walked me Through all the steps I needed to know and helped me get the right product with knowledge of how to use it.

I shop here and visit this store often. It is a nice store with a great selection of gear.The staff is friendly and I have always received good customer service. However, about 2 weeks ago I wanted to purchase a Shure SM7B mic. I had a -15% coupon from Musicians Friend so I called The Guitar Center told them that I had cash and wanted to buy local.I asked them if they would be having any sales or coupons for Memorial Day, Father’s Day or 4th of July. I really wanted to pay cash and buy local. After speaking to several sales people and a manager, I was told that they could not tell me or help with any information regarding a sale, and they could not match their sister companies coupon.So…I ordered from Musicians Friend. Now two weeks later I get a -20% coupon e-mailed to me for father’s day.I am really disappointed that with a little help I could have saved 5% and paid cash instead of charging this 400.00 microphone. I guess that I am not surprised that Guitar Center is filing Chapter 11. I have to edit this review...after looking at the e-mail it is not a -20% coupon. It is an add for up to -20% off on some items. This does make a difference.

This is my go to place guitars. It’s amazing to think how large an area this store serves to. I drive here from Greene County, which is about 1.5 hours on i-59. Great collection of guitars at a competitive price and very resourceful staff. However on the recent trip, I noticed that the inventory has shrunk to some extent. If you are into guitars, this is a must go place.

Hello I was just wondering if your guitars come with a case. I am looking to purchase one and don’t know if I have to buy it separate or if they come with the guitar.

During the pandemic it is super hard to find gear you need / want at your local GC stores, so I used the GC internet site. I had an issue with a really expensive order and my gear was sent from the Hoover AL. GC. (I live in Indiana) I called Jeff A., the Operations Manager for the Hoover GC store, explained the issue and my huge worries. Jeff put on his super hero cape and in less than 24 hrs. the issue was resolved and on my doorstep. Nowadays we seem to see a lot of negative stuff about our fellow human beings, but it is an astonishing reminder to see what one person can do when they help another. JEFF- you just made my head spin, truly incredible service, thank you so much!

Guitar center is to me,what candy is to fat kids.

I tested multiple strats before settling on one. Tony and the other dude ( sorry, dont remember your name) were courteous and helped me get multiple guitars off the top shelf.

The last of the big brick and mortar music stores and its days are numbered. Still the Hoover Guitar Center is clean with knowledgeable and polite employees. They have a good tech if you need your instrument repaired or upgraded. While they still live come on by and stare at the beautiful guitars that you cant afford!

I was just in here and asked for help with some electric drum sets I had some questions about and they called for a guy named zack to come help me and I stood in the drum area a good 20 minutes clearly waiting for help and nobody came to help me or check on me so I just walked out of the store and nobody said anything to me. If your drum guy isnt there thats fine just tell me so Im not waiting there looking around for help and nobody comes.

Always the typical Guitar Center selection.Always friendly help.Ive been to a lot of music shops over the years, but this one is like the Lowes of music shops.You can order what you want,There is usually someone in the store who can help you figure it out,But they are definitely good rather than best.Very good place though unless you have the higher than average expectations.

Sad...looks worse than Mars music did at the end. Very little stock in amps, bass gear, PA and such.

Extremely rude and unhelpful. The male manager should be fired and go work as a prison guard or a bouncer at a strip club (but there was a petite female who works there who was kind and deserves a raise). This is a store where customers come to BUY things. A store that refuses to SELL things isn’t much of a store at all. Is it? I hope the owner likes watching money walk out the door. I went in there for picks but I probably would’ve bought a guitar. I bought neither.Bailey Bros it is.

Nice store with friendly staff. Pretty good selection. Purchased the Boss Katana MK 2 artist with a foot pedal. They even carried the items out to my truck for me. Highly recommend the store for its great service!

Ok this is by far the worst experience ever. I bought a microphone that was sold as new. The expert stated I couldn’t bring it back for some odd reason but I opened it today because I got my other equipment and was about to setup. I’ve purchased a baby bottle microphone before elsewhere and gifted my little brother but this time I noticed in my packaging it was missing the blue stickers and original paperwork and etc. I get to the microphone it’s defected with gauges bent on the switch toggle. And this guy who sold me the equipment sells me a shock mount that’s absolutely unnecessary and states a shock mount doesn’t come with the microphone which I knew it did and I told him it does but he convinced me to buy it because it doesn’t and since he’s supposedly the expert I purchase it to be on the safe side. Ok fast forward, I finally open my microphone today and behold there’s a shock mount made just for the baby bottle and not the one he figured would work. So in conclusion this will probably be my last time shopping at the Guitar Center in Hoover because I feel like I’ve been swindled. And on top of me getting a defected microphone the send me some defected pioneer headphones that only works on one side from there online store. I am livid because I live a hour away and have to travel once again to handle the situation and wait once again to get some proper working equipment.

Got a really good deal on an acoustic electric guitar that came with a bag. Worker named Zach was nice, knowledgeable, and very helpful. He also gave me a lot of time to decide on the best instrument for me. If you plan on making a trip to Guitar Center, be sure to ask for Zach.

I was buying a used guitar from someone and these guys let us use their facility to test it out. Afterwards I needed some accessories and they were friendly and helpful. I appreciate their customer service mentality.

When I entered into the store no one asked to help me. I was buying something for the drums at my church. I had to try to shop and find what I needed myself even behind the counter. Last week I bought a cordless mic and we often spend money there. But I am thinking about doing all of my shopping online through another company.

The customer service is horrible. I ordered an item online and went to the store to get the item and the store told me “It’s not our problem because you didn’t order it through our store directly.” I thought they would at least try and help solve the problem instead of just say it’s not our problem, but I guess not. Definitely not shopping here again. They will also cancel your order and not tell you.

Been bout three months since the following encounter,, maybetheyve changed w more experience w covid but.....With my hand still on the door,, right when my foot hits the floor, they hit me with Got A Mask....no hey, how are you? Only very unfamiliar cold indignant robotic greeting of mask shaming. Had 400$ burning hole my pocket. Left, never went back. But again, may have changed by now.

Always a great place to get equipment. I also take drum lessons here which is a great new thing they offer! They have a variety of lessons they offer and instructors to fit your needs. David Curtis is my instructor and I have learned a lot so far. The employees here are knowledgeable and are great musicians. Highly recommend!

Need music supplies? You got it. Not just for guitars, you can find anything you need for band instruments (like reeds for a saxophone), or lights and electronics for your next gig as a D.J. Plenty of fantastic stringed instruments in the humidor that you cant find anywhere else in town. I recommend signing up for the String club to save a couple of bucks on the supplies you need if youre a musician. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff.

They have a huge building, but not a wide variety of bass & guitar amps.. Not to mention most of the guitars are out of tune when you pick them up. The keyboard & Software area has great customer service.. Anywhere else youre on your own looking for a guitar cable/power cable to try out a amp that youre probably not going to buy, cause its not what you really want..

Was told over the phone that they sold materials to sound proof my home. When I got there, literally none of the seven people working up there knew what I was talking about. A 35 minute trip for no reason.

I had to exchange new guitar i bought a couple of times until I found one that would work well for me and had the sound I was looking for. The guys in the store are great. I dealt with Chandler on my visits. He was great. Very helpful, and patient with an old man that is getting back into playing after several years...

Staff was courteous, selection was decent, however their current financing options are so exclusive that the only way you could get approved is if you basically had the money to buy it outright given their high credit requirements, even their card supposedly for those who cant get the gear card will most likely deny you and their new layaway policy isnt as good as it once was. All in all it feels more like the company as a whole is pushing away customers who dont have 2 grand to drop on a guitar, on top of already charging more for gear just because its there. Outside of getting your repairs done there i dont see any value shopping with them. No promotions of value, and no financing options for anyone with less than a 650 credit store. Its literally a Ralph Lauren outlet store trying to operate like a Louis Vuitton boutique, without the Louis Vuitton product, customer service, or prestige. Support your local music shop, theres nothing for you at GC anymore, theyve changed for the worse

I ordered a keyboard and amp for my sons 16th, birthday, and I called to see if they could assist me in surprising him. After speaking to a manager, he assured me everything would be ready and set up when we arrived and it was. Everyone from the managers to support staff were very helpful, courteous and knowledgeable of the equipment I ordered. Needless to say I was able to surprise him and he was very, very happy, and surprised.

I went there coz thats only one close to Tuscaloosa. The associate who showed me the amp was nice. But the manager acted very impatient and not sure why. Good location near by the highway.

Do not give this place your money, especially if you are trading in a guitar. Shop local - like Bailey Brothers. There are lots of local spots in BHM with better stuff and better prices. These folks will rob you.

Music Lesson Review: The drum lessons have been a positive experience for my young son. And the price has been positive for my wallet. Were not yet certain if our little one will continue with music long-term. But Guitar Center has been able to provide the equipment and instruction weve needed to try it out and explore whether or not he likes it without making TOO large an investment up front.

Wonderful experience! I went in looking for a guitar for my daughter to learn on. They had a sale going on, and I was able to get a better guitar than I had hoped for! Salesperson was helpful and pleasant. We will be back in the future Im sure!
