Bought a pistol and also had some gunsmith work done by them. Very pleasant experience. Staff were very friendly and informative. Their price is very competitive too. Definitely recommend to try.
They had a lot of nice stuff there and accessories that mainly you would have to order online they had it in stock on the shelves I will go here again
Great overall experience, staff is very knowledgeable and everyone is extremely friendly. The possibilities are limitless as to what they can put together for you and the in store selection is great!
OMG, these guys are great!!! Came in yesterday to look at a A-10 Creedmor and they had everything that I needed. Great price, great customer service and AWESOME knowledge by the gentleman who helped us. Only complaint is ammo was a tad expensive.....but that seems to be true just about everywhere so no downgrades for that. Great experience overall. Thanks!
These guys are awesome!! I could have avoided ordering my accessories online for my ar cause they have the same at the same rate, I got cerakote work done here and I have to say Im more than impressed with less than a 2 week turnaround. Ill do business with these guys from now on.
Very knowledgeable and always friendly. Highly recommend
My first time dealing with Precision Tactical and all i have to say... WOW! Im a gun fanatic and know alot about guns. But like most, I dont know everything. Especially on the custom side of things like stippling and cerakoting. Every employee I ever spoke to whether on the phone or in person at the store was very friendly and patient. I am a very indsive person when it comes to picking something like color or design ex... and they were very understanding and answered all of my questions until I decided what I wanted done to my firearm. I would definitely recommend them for any custom work youre wanting done. Even if it is something you dont see on their website or think they cant do just give them a call there is a 95 percent chance they can get it done and get it done right.
Good people knowledgeable staff great quality work
This is a custom shop with an amazing staff. Doesnt matter if youre a first time shooter or experienced gun owner, PTAC will help you with whatever your need. Quality and expertise do come with a price, but this is the only place Ill take my stuff too or buy from. I highly recommend you do the same. Do yourself a favor and check them out. Youll be glad you did.
Let me start by saying they go above and beyond for their customers. Been using them for two years now, and the only time something was wrong they took care of it as quickly as possible and even offered to eat the cost. The cheapest FFL transfer in town (by fifteen bucks minimum), the best service and custom work in town, and some of the coolest people in town. If I need anything customized or any kind of gunsmith work done they are my go-to. Theyve done barrel swaps, full assemblies, slide optic cuts, framework, and a grip chop for me (I know that was a headache for them but they didnt make me feel like it was a burden at all). Stef even walked me through the NFA process with ease and understanding. Hands down, by far the best shop in Birmingham for any and all of your gunsmith needs. Huge shout out to Stef, Cody, and everyone else there. Needless to say, they have a customer for life.
Bought a g3 stainless my first time there and the service was awsome. I drive 45 minutes each way to get there because they are worth the time. They are never to busy to help or answer a question, in fact Im taking a slide to be cerekote tomorrow. Id definitely recommend anyone to visit them. You wont be disappointed. Just got my taurus slide back, had it cerekote coyote tan, it was so worth it. They did a fantastic job and Ive even put my shield up and am carrying my Taurus again. They made it better than new and made sure it was a fantastic job. Thank you guys and you have my business and trust from now on. Keep up the amazing work.
I was truly impressed by the service. My very first time in a gun shop ever but, I must say very professional, informative, and all so quality in service. My first time but, I definitely will recommend and I will be back as a woman they handled me with respect and courtesy..
I like this place. Customer service is great. Cerakoting is top notch and reasonably priced. Handguns are cheaper than anyone else in the area. If you’re needing AR parts ask them about a package deal and they’ll probably give you a good price on the whole bundle.
Went there to get some work done on my gun and they were quick to assist and were get the job done. I had additional questions about doing some add ons for my gun and they were able to provide me with multiple solutions that I was looking for. Very personable as well.
Excellent store and excellent customer service. Knowledgeable and great selection. Will definitely be returning!!
I stopped by today to pick up 2, 45 degree rail mounts for my backup sights. The guy asked me what was I going to do with them, he ended up showing me some new 45 degree angle sights with a lower profile, he saved me about $40! You just dont find people like that anymore! Extremely nice people and I love thier store.
Fantastic work great people
Ive had three pistols heavily customized here, along with minor fixes such as sight installation. Time to completion is usually sooner than they estimate, prices are fair, work is excellent. Will be returning.
Was at the 03/18/2018 gun show at the Hoover Met and wanted a trigger job and upgrade sight done on my back-up Glock 43. No one at the show this time who offered the service was there. A friend told me about Precision Tactical. Went in and was not pressured but the guys made suggestions and installed the trigger at no charge and only charged me $10.00 for the sight installation. Fixing to build a AR15 pistol and will defiantly keep these guys in my speed dial. Awesome customer service !!
Absolutely love the quality of the work these guys put into every project I’ve brought them. They are extremely knowledgeable on every subject regarding firearms. I’ve had them work on one pistol and I’ve bought two firearms from them. Reasonably priced and I will be returning soon to have more work done!
All of the staff that I ever interacted with have been extremely helpful and polite. Originally I came in to just look around but I learned that they did specialty work such as making holsters and custom rifle building to name a few. I decided to order a custom pdw and am extremely satisfied with the work that went into it as well as the final product. Thanks PTAC, you definitely have a returning customer right here.
Great customer service, great prices, and amazing work. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Cerakote looks great every time as well as the stipple & slide cuts.
Great place for all of your tactical needs. Excellent custom work. Friendly, knowledgeable employees. Highly recommend!
The guys here are professional in their gunsmithing great prices very informative and welcoming. They dont make you feel bad about being a novice in the AR platform like some other shops in town, top notch service!
If you have money this place is a treasure trove. If youre on a budget I wouldnt suggest it.
These guys are awesome. Great work and fair prices. They did a fantastic job with the cerakote on my Uzi. Looks better than brand new. Highly recommended.
Been there a few times. The folks Ive met and spoke with are very friendly, informative and helpful. Had some items coated....very satisfied!
Great custom work as far as quality they even laser cut yeti cups. Good staff with lots of knowledge. Moderate wait time on work probably due to the amount of business they do. Fixed my gun in about ten minutes.
Absolutely amazing service. In and out in under 5 minutes everytime. Incredible selection of aftermarket parts and accessories and custom work as well. This is the only place Ill take my business!
Update:Im actual impressed now after hearing what is happening and how the company is actually trying to make it right. I know several shops would not go to the extend that this company is doing for my friend, Kudos for that. They are redoing the paint and helping him. I will post an update of his firearm once he gets it back. These actions made me updated my star from 1 to 4 due to customer service. Thanks Precision Tactical Arms for being squared away.Original:This place is garbage! Money hungry lousy customer service! To prove a point, a friend of mine ask for a specific paint job and they claimed they could do it. He also asked for a slide cut, front slide serration and a RMR cut with an RMR. This company claimed it would take 5 to 6 weeks. It took 8 to 10 weeks later. This company demolished his weapon. Looks like he didnt even finished the paint job. All he wanted was pink and minor light red(i mean light) and with black. The paint job was completely wrong color. They also sold the RMR that he said would be his (fine but didnt even replace it before presenting the firearm), and even made him pay full price. Beware of this garbage Company.
Recently purchased an FN7 here and had my AR shipped out to Texas from here. Got a great price on both and the manager did not try and overcharge me. In fact he gave me a price on the highly desirably FN that was $100 cheaper than anywhere else. They may be a small shop but they care about their customers and what they do and because of that I am willing to pay a little bit of a premium for great customer service; something not found online or at Hoover Tactical!
I had these guys ceracoat my Sig P220 and install some TFX pros.... Everything was fantastic, no issues at all.. very professional, excellent work and have recommended to many people who were looking around....
Excellent selection,if you need work done they know what their doing
I found out about this place after my dad and brother discovered it a few months ago. I had been looking for a holster for my full-railed 1911 and not had much luck. After looking at their website, I discovered they mold custom kydex holsters and decided to give them a go at making me a 1911 holster. Took it and another pistol to them, told them what I want and they very quickly filled out a work-order and told me it would be 2-3 weeks since they would have to ship the guns to their Crestview, FL store which I thought was reasonable. Here is where the fun starts. after 3 weeks and no word, I gave the a call to see what was going on and was told they should have been back by then. Stef offered to call the Florida store and find out what was going on but never called me back. I called again the next week and was told they should be in the following week. This continued until early January when I was informed that their Kydex distributor was out of black kydex and had been shut down for an extended time in December.I decide to continue to be patient since it wasnt really their fault. I keep waiting on in to February and finally call again and find out the guns and my holsters shipped out the previous Tuesday after about two and a half months after initially placing the order. I expected 2-3 days for delivery based on shipping speeds on the USPS website. A week later they had not arrived and Stef was unable to get tracking info due to the Florida stores shipping guy being out with the flu. Finally the following Wednesday, Stef was able to get tracking info and confirmed delivery the next day on 2-14-28.At this point I was quite irate with the whole situation and was basically ready to wash my hands of Precision because this was a terrible experience for me. However, I remained polite and professional the entire time. Once Stef told me about delivery, I asked what the final bill was going to be. He replied that they were not going to charge me. He said that he wanted me to feel like I could bring my business back. After the experience, I felt like this was a good move on their part and that they really cared about their customers and their business. I feel like Stef did the right thing and I will continue to bring them business.I rate them 5 stars because the holsters were superbly made and the guns fit well with good retention. Even though they took a while and communication was rocky at first, they made up for it and I really appreciate what Stef did. On a side note, while picking up the holsters, Stef informed me that they were tooling up to do holsters here in the Birmingham store which I was happy to hear about since shipping would no longer be an issue and you could get them made while you wait.Overall I was pleased even though it was a bad situation. They did their best to make up for it and restored my faith in them as a company who is willing to go the extra mile to take care of a customer.
Mike Barber always takes good care of me.
Super nice guys. Very helpful, I couldnt of built my AR 15 without them.
Awesome shop! Great service, and their custom work is off the charts good.
Maybe its because they are such a small shop and have to compete with TS Arms, Hoover Tactical and Sentinel Arms but their prices are well marked up. Case in point, Remington 700 chambered in .308 usually for just the gun runs $699+ tax they threw a flash supressor on it and now it cost $800 with no additional add ons. Im not sure if the sales people are paid on a commission or not but it seemed like whenever I was looking for a part I was always directed to a more expensive piece. Just saying if ur serious about saving money and getting quality equipment look into another shop or shop online. Most of the exact same equipment is available at a cheaper price shipping and tax included online!!!
No help
Don’t do it... anything
Best custom work around.
A bit overpriced.
