Classic hole in the wall dinner. Food that I had tasted great! Was kind of slow today, but they were incredibly busy so it is understandable. Well worth the wait, nice and cheap too. Would recommend to anyone in the area
This was our destination for Mothers Day breakfast. A great little place on Main Street in Hopkins. They were busy, yet accommodating. As you can see, I was also gifted with a rose after we were seated. Great tasting food, nice portions and a real fun crew that makes you feel like family. We will definitely be back!
We went as a family to this interesting diner. They had redone the seating arrange to help with social distancing. This was our first visit. The decor was quaint, reminiscent of a mom and pop diner in the 80s. We sat at a corner table. We were served by an excellent host called Christian. Christian to extra effort to clarify the size of the pancake that my son wanted to order. Because of high level of activity from the kid we discussed with Christian to allow our son to go help in the kitchen. This he readily agreed but cautioned him on the hard work involved. This discussion quietened the 7 yr old young gentleman. Then we proceeded to devour our wonderful food. The coffee was excellent and the scrambled egg and rye bread was superb. After eating halfway our 7 yr old posed a question. He asked: what if this world is a dream? And what if reality is what happens after we die? I inquired of him if he was refrerring to food as a dream. But he clarified this was a general question. Im unsure if this was an affect of the meal. The question was like a haiku, I requested a deferred reply to the young man and finished my meal. Christian. Brought us a take away box as the single pancake was too much for our son. The food was very reasonably priced. We were super happy with our experience. Just note that there is a 3percent charge on credit card, but we had cash. We were requested to revisit this enchanting place, we intend to do so. Thanks
Incredibly great prices. Food is Meh. Clientele is true flannel, as in the working line of flannel, as opposed to the designer line you may find it elsewhere. Real people.
Small town diner feel with good food. Seat yourself and bring cash because the credit card machine is not always working. Crispy hash browns and bacon done just right with plate-sized pancakes! Very busy Sunday morning but seating is also available at the counter.
Very very good breakfast!! Our 1st time there, fun atmosphere!
What a fun place to eat. Great food. Large portions. Great prices. I ate on the sidewalk table outside and many people said hi while walking by. Cant wait to go back.
Loved the food, clean environment and restroom. Little slow service but I saw a help wanted sign, so I cant be too harsh. Still 5 star
Stopped in on our way through town. Found a place to sit right away. Service was great and the food was delicious. Quick to come out and large portion sizes. The pancakes with chocolate chips were a steal for the price which included some good bacon.
Come here every now and then when Im up at 5 and craving some good breakfast. Always friendly, always fresh food. Unbeatable prices.
I had a burger and fries there couple weeks ago, then breakfast last week. They are simple, generous ABSOLUTE COMFORT FOOD. I would recommend them to anyone for a God Ole, moms kitchen, really good meal. I cant wait to go back to Hoagies again!!
Everything was delicious and authentic, it reminded me of eating at my grandparents house! It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking right near the restaurant.
Cute little diner! Visited here from out of state! The special was delicious, breakfast was great too! Great server and love the old diner decor. Would definitely return!
Quaint place, sat at counter. Old diner feel, decent service and good food, fair prices.. Would go back.
My family came here during the dreaded MEA break and the place was packed, one we were able to get a seat we were greated in a timely and friendly manner the wait staff are fantastic to say the least my family LOVED the small town feel of the place.... we had are order in within 5-10 minutes of being seated again the place was packed and we still all had are food in about 20 minutes. Now onto the food..... OMG it was amazing to say the least my family enjoyed every thing that was ordered and we will be coming back.... service, food, price and the atmosphere are ALL 5 🌟
My wife and I came in for the first time this morning and as we are new to MN we were looking for a breakfast place ... well the look is over this will be our new breakfast eat out spot!!! The food was absolutely incredible and the environment was friendly and comfortable!!! Amazing service as well !!!
Good. Breaded tenderloin sandwich and fries.
Great diner. Burgers were awesome. Service was amazing.
This is exactly what I expect from a diner. Good prices, good food, lots of coffee. I really enjoyed the omelette. It was big and fluffy with plenty of ham and cheese.
We love Hoagies! Been going there for 20+ years. I had a ham + cheese omelet and hashbrowns. Huge portions and always tasty and filling.
Get your bang for your buck! Large tasty portions off the breakfast and lunch menu for a good price.
I love everything about this place. The Minnesota diner vibe at its finest. No frills, no BS. So cheap you’ll wonder if it’s 1975. Staff is kind and fun. Please support local family owned businesses like this!
Love this place, an old school small town mom and pop cafe in the suburbs. Always busy, allows ordering online, real convenient for to-go orders if dine in isnt your thing. Now accepts credit cards (use to be cash only) but does charge a small fee if you use credit cards. ATM on site. Love this place, great prices.
Great diner in Dt Hopkins. Price and portion for the #8 and OJ was on point. Great folks and digs.
Great breakfast here. Incredibly cheap prices, friendly staff. Its a cute little hole-in-the-wall type of place with a very retro atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit! The only confusing part was we were to seat ourselves, but there was no sign and multiple employees walked past us without mentioning it.
Great Saturday breakfast, quick service of good food in decent portion sizes and at a great price!
Great friendly staff! Family atmosphere. The patty melt and breakfast skillet are the best! I never get tired of eating there.
Was just there with my son. This restaurant is amazing. The meal was fantastic though little of a wait. Its been around for about 60 years and it shows but in a good way. Dont change anything. Give it a try, trust me you wont regret it.
Small town restaurant vibe going on. Great food.
Be ready for a LONG wait. Super weird it took about 40 minutes for eggs??? But as usual it was good food at an ok price.
Low cost and great tasting omelet with good service
Excellent place for breakfast. Great food, great service, excellent prices. Thoroughly enjoyable
Been there on the same corner serving made from scratch meals since 1840..
Love this place. Great friendly staff. Food is always amazing.
Really enjoy this throwback true diner-style restaurant. It’s no frills, but filled with lots of great local friends meeting up over a cup of coffee and conversation. You can’t beat their prices. Paid $15 for 2 FULL breakfast meals this morning. The parking is a bit of a bear, with street parking seeming to be the only option - but never more than a couple blocks away. If you like drinking alcohol with your breakfast, this isn’t the place. It’s a restaurant. Not a bar/restaurant. Great service and food!! Always recommend.
Best comfort food in town. Service and people there are awesome! ❤❤❤❤
Classic diner feel. Great breakfast, great service. Love the hash browns and build your own omelet. Fantastic value.
When I walked into Hoagies I felt like I was taking a step back in time. They have an old-time diner feel with the decor. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful with our orders. We had the special of corned beef hash and from the menu a classic sausage, egg, toast, and hash brown combo. The food was very reasonably priced and everything was good. We will likely be back!
Easily the best place to get breakfast in the metro area. So, so cheap and great food. Love the vibe theyve created as well, its just such a great feel!
Hoagies is the kind of place that I hope never goes away. Is the food jaw droppingly good? No. But the vibe is great and the price is right. Not to mention its not a chain.
Absolutely healthy & tasty breakfast, great value and lovely staffs. This is a must try when you are in this town! They are maintaining quality delish for generations.
The service is great and the food is excellent. Highly recommend!
The only breakfast place that reminds me of Johns / Joans Log Cabin (RIP) in Mound/Spring Park/Navarre is Hoagies and this is the highest compliment. The fine folks who take my order are just as great as the food.
This place had some great food, and I enjoyed the service too.
If I could give 0 starts I would. This place has the absolute worst service. Never going here again. Food never even came so can’t even comment on food. TERRIBLE
Busy. I ordered a club sandwich and it took awhile to prepare.
Love the eggs Benedict with hashbrowns...nicely cooked!
Great food at outstanding prices
Classic old school diner feel. Good food at good prices.
Horrible customer service... the woman with short hair and tattoos was the worse.
Excellent food at an excellent price!
Busy place and great food!
Server remembered my exact breakfast order from my previous visit... nearly a year ago!!! Definitely got the at home vibe. Great service. Affordable menu. Love hoagies.
Been visiting here for 40+ years. We always go when coming to Hopkins to meet for breakfast.
Had an unpleasant experience with the waitress of this establishment. While ordering a pick up order, I decided why not take a seat and have a bite since I run a short lunch break during my work day. I was informed after sitting in a booth that the waitress had reservations and I cannot sit and eat. I inquired if I was able to sit at the breakfast bar which only one person was seated. She did not answer the question she instead recommend I order for dine in so not to waste their to-go styrofoam. I felt very awkward and out of place in this business. Terrible customer service as far as recommend solutions to their patrons. I probably will find another place to order food moving forward. Leave a tip and get told to leave thank you Hoagies Hopkins!
Always a great experience with reasonable prices!
My favorite place to get breakfast. Good food, great service, and affordable. Cash only.
Loved the eggs benedict! The server was friendly and we got our food quick. Old school American diner experience.
Great food and service?? And my boys loved it a lot
For the price, this place is amazing
Nice family restaurant, friendly staff, and very good food!
Excellent food .great service
This is the best place! The atmosphere is one-of-a-kind. Weve been enjoying their food to-go during Covid, and cannot wait to dine-in once again in the future!
Excellent food at reasonable prices. Good old-fashioned atmosphere, terrific wait service.
Great little restaurant in downtown Hopkins.
Love the old family diner atmosphere
Hoagies is the best, better than all the rest. Straightforward menu, breakfast all day, fast friendly service. I mean seriously look at this breakfast it is like 7 bucks and is simple and well prepared and delicious. And it is served all day. Im pretty sure Hoagies invented breakfast all day, actually. I also like their lunch stuff so dont think you always have to get breakfast, and their specials are always reliable. Also one time I saw Carly Simon in there getting a patty melt and singing something about Nobody Doing It Better. So theres that.
Waitress Jess was out of this world good. Informative and had everything covered.
I love Hoagies! I love Hoagies better pre covid. Only one worker serving is not easy on the waitress or the customers. I understand why and all of the logistics as well.
Great homestyle cooking and always more food than you can possibly eat.
Currently take out only.Food was hot and fresh, but was really nothing special. I got about half way through my omelet and had to stop eating it. The taste was just too plain. Felt like I was just shoveling stuff in my mouth. Hash browns are served plain, theyre the shredded and pressed kind. Tasted fine, just nothing new. Asked for the apple juice, came in a 12oz coffee cup, cooled but not chilled. Also had a cinnamon roll, or what they called it at least. Was more like a baked bun with cinnamon in it and some cream on top. Fairly dry to eat and the cream did all the heavy lifting for the taste.Price was good for how much I got. But then again I didnt bother to finish it.I dont think I would eat here again.
Wow. Dads find. Great service, cheap prices, delicious foid and this adorable little neighborhood library book stand.
If you love small town diners, this is the place to go.
Very good food and affordable. Really liked this place and will come back.
For the price, I doubt you can beat it!!!
Food was good and very reasonably priced. For a diner, especially, the service was very slow
Homey, familiar atmosphere. Exactly the cafe food you need.
Love these small family dine in types of resutarants, they have great customer service and food taste so good.
Wonderful environment and very affable service. The food was crisp and delicious. Will surely recommend this place to my friends. Convenient rates and large portions. Good job.
I absolutely love this place. Its a little diner that makes breakfast and lunch. The food is great and you can get a full plate of food for 5 dollars. Its my kind of place. 10/10
Great service, very friendly workers! Amazing food!
Family friendly restaurant with an old school diner vibe. This is a good spot if you want some cheap food. Consistently average.
Nice family Diner, enjoyed breakfast with a friend.
Good people, great home made food, 30 year customer, well worth supporting
