Houlton Power Sports was great to deal with. Second year renting a side X side. Nelle is awesome not sure how old she is but she is old school customer service. She went out of her way to try and help with a trailer situation I had. She is just great 👍. I will rent again next year as well. Came up to Northern Maine from central Florida with our Forest River Camper to spend the summer. Camper developed a problem with the gas furnace which required immediate service. Forest River referred me to McCluskies RV in Presque Isle, however, the owner (Gary) informed me he only works on campers if they were purchased from his dealership. Called Houlton Power Sports and talked with Alan in the service department and he was more than happy to assist me and scheduled service for the following week. Alan was very professional, polite and courteous. His service applied a temporary repair and ordered the part from Forest River and replaced the defective part two weeks later when it arrived. Hence, we were able stay and camp in Northern Maine until our original return date of of mid October. Thanks HPS and Allan for stellar customer service and genuine human compassion!!! I am a fan of Houlton Power Sports!!!!

I rented a 2021 Polaris 850 from Houlton Powersports for a whole week at a very reasonable price. Nelle met me for the pickup after hours as we had a long drive up which was much appreciated. While they loaded the sled on my trailer they even let me take a new Lynx for a quick ride so I could see how it felt. Dropping off was just as easy even though they were very busy. Everyone I spoke to and dealt with was beyond helpful and accommodating. Im familiar with Maine hospitality but Houlton Powersports goes far above and beyond. I cant recommend them enough

I wish I could leave 10 stars.This was not a well planned trip. This was a last minute, spur of the moment, lets see if we can make this happen kind of trip. And it only took one call!!The sleds were reserved, and all the arrangements made quickly and easily by phone. 3 members of our group had their own sleds. HPS gave us a place to unload them and plenty of parking for the trucks. Nelle made sure we were prepared and had gear available for us. We left with new sleds, maps, headsocks, everything to make a perfect day!! And she was waiting for us upon return.Moreover, the next day it was discovered that my daughter had left a pair of gloves in the storage compartment of her rented sled. They were handmade gloves, knit by her Mom. Nelle immediately responded and assured my daughter they would be in the mail and on the way in the morning.Dont go anywhere else !!!

I had picked a Yamaha Kodiak 700 as the quad I wanted to pull logs out of the woods with. I went to HPS and told them what I was going to do with it, and found that they couldnt get that model. But, after talking with Austin and John about substitution options, they recommended the Kodiak 700 EPS SE model. A little more money, but, after adding an aftermarket winch to the other Kodiak, I still wouldnt have the 4wd differential lock or the power steering that the EPS SE has. A very good recommendation, because I needed all four wheels locked to get out of the woods this afternoon. Ill trust their recommendations again.

Decided to travel to Island Falls Maine For snowmobiling with friends. My friends suggested I choose Holtons powersports for my rental and I have to say Ive been more than satisfied with the ease of renting a snowmobile from them. Their service included dropping off in picking up my sled Which made my vacation a more pleasurable one. If you like to travel 20 hours from Atlanta Georgia to make reservations for snowmobiling for 4 only to be told they didn’t actually make the reservations then boy this is a place for you. Decided to treat the kids for a snowmobile play date called John at Houlton the day before requesting two double sleds for a group of 4. We decided on two touring models and submitted my credit card information to hold the vehicles. Was advised I would be receiving an email with confirmation as well as the agreement form to look over. The next day after not receiving an email I inquired about my issue only to be told that they had no vehicles actually available other then one single sled and a double sled. If I was a hamster and could eat my young this wouldn’t be an issue, but since society would look down upon this I couldn’t just decide which child I loved more. Overall I guess I’m disappointed as now the other rentals providers are booked up as well. Let it be known to call twice to book once.

Last year,, I was looking for a new trailer. I was 2 hours away. I called and told them I was on my way there. When I got to Houlton, I texted them to tell them I was in Houlton. When I got there, I was told the guy who deals with trailers was out on a call. I waited 1/2 hour. No one else in the showroom paid any attention to me. As far as I could see,, I was the only customer in there. I went outside to where the trailers were displayed to see if anyone would come over. After another 15 minutes of being ignored, I left. I texted them and thanked them for wasting my time. I didnt get a response until the next day!! Great business plan!!

Decent inventory of equipment but every time Ive needed a part its been a special order. Im not talking rare parts either. A clutch or wheel bearing for brands they sell should be a shelf stocked part. Staff however is knowledgeable and helpful. Prices high but hey, show me a power sports shop that isnt.

Did get my side by side back as promised

We went in looking for parts to an R V since they sell them. We alked in the door and the first persone to greet us was nice, however as soon as I told him we were there to look at the selection of RV parts he said ok and walked away and left us standing there. We had an associate come in who was finishing up with answering questions for another customer who had questions about RV parts and when he was done we asked him some prices on some of the items they had that were not priced, he said he would go look them up and never came back. We looked around for an associate when another guy walking around eating an apple asked if anyone had helped us and we said yes but the guy dissapeared and never returned. He then walked around trying to find someone else to help us (after we told him what we were trying to find). He found another guy and pawned us off on him (by now it had been 20 minutes just trying to get someone to help us get prices). The guy eating the apple then went and sat in the corner at his desk and answered his phone, doing nothing further to help while another employee left us there for another 10 minutes to go try to find a simple price for something in their store. This experience was very frustrating. I would go there again because the price was reasonable and I like to try and support local businesses, however they need to work on customer service. If I do go back I wont bother trying tonfind anyone to help. As the owner of multiple businesses I take pride in providing a great customer service experience to EVERY customer regardless of whether they are just looking, spending a few dollars, or thousands, which this business does not, unless you are there to purchase something far more expensive than what I needed. I also make it a point to be sure all of my items are priced so in the case everyone is busy a customer can see what they are going to pay. In this store very little items including 4wheelers or any powersports were priced.

I wanted to update people on the RV that I purchased from Houlton Power Sports .My partner wrote a review about two weeks ago about the problem we had with the 2008 Tioga . We continue to find things wrong. We dont use the awning but did see that it was ripping and starting to fall off . We checked it and found it had rotted. If you do buy something from Houlton Power Sports make sure you are prepared to check out everything . DO NOT TRUST TIMWe were to trusting

Kept telling me I didnt know how to drive a bike. Mike listened to me and discovered the fuel pump was defective. Justin ordered a new $600 pump, had Mike install it and at no charge to me.I didnt buy my bike at HPS, but they sure treated me good!My bike is running good now!

We bought a 2008 Fleetwood Tioga from Tim. Unfortunately when Tim said that he would have it gone through from end to end he didnt follow up. The auxiliary battery was bulging out and could have exploded. There was a rats nest in the compartment. He told us that he got new tires for it and without telling us it was 2 new front tires. We had a blow out on one of the back tires. He promised that the backup camera worked or would be checked out. Never done, doesnt work. Basically all he did was show us how the slide outs work and thats it. When I called about some beeping noise I was brushed off. Justin the mechanic was amazing to us, though. He helped us with a fuse problem and made room in his busy schedule to repair a metal piece that was hanging out from the bottom when the tire blew out.We bought from HPS because we wanted to buy local. Not go to a large dealership.Our Tioga is our home now not a seasonal thing. HPS (especially Tim) needs a lesson on good customer service! The rubber seals on the the sides of the slide outs were missing pieces and that has caused water to run in the RV when it rains. The bumper was rusted out and we had to have one built because Fleetwood doesnt make this RV anymore ( which Tim failed to tell us). The oil for the engine and generator were just changed and it was found that it was extremely dirty ( which is dangerous).This has cost us a lot of money and time. I plan on contacting the BBB. Hello this is K Philip Jurson I purchased this motorhome with my partner and everything she wrote ie very true. If I had it to do over I would not shop at Houlton Power Sports again.

My first experience with Houlton Powersports was last winter when my fiancé’s sled blew up in the middle of a snowmobiling trip. I found them by chance and bought a used sled with low miles at a very reasonable price and saved my vacation. This year I had more sled trouble and decided it was time to upgrade my own sled. I did lots of research and decided on the 2015 Yamaha L-TX DX. I looked around my own area and there weren’t any real good deals on one, so I decided to check out Houlton Powersports again. I talked to Jim over the phone and they were offering the best price on the sled I could find and he offered me a good deal on my trade in, and to top it off I could test the sled out in the fields behind the store before making the purchase. So I packed up the truck and drove 400 miles up to Houlton. Normally the store closes at 1:00 PM on Saturday, but they stuck around until after 2:00 in order to uncrate and put my sled together. The level of service you’ll get at Houlton Powersports is unmatched. Every one of their staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The parts department doesn’t try to upsell you on name brand oils or parts; they’re extremely honest and very knowledgeable. It was a long drive, but I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.

Houlton Power Sports provides Canadians and great service through Kinect alowing goods to be shipped to their address for a few dollars per item.They are however being very narrow minded in their customer service as they charge Canadians $5.00 to dispose of trash in their dumpster.They do not realize that usually the customers have smaller vehicles and all of the extra packaging make is difficult for the purchaser.The other problem is, they are charging double the exchange onCDN dollars.Very poor thinking on somebodys part.
