When I decided to attend this school I had no idea what I was getting myself into! As a crossover I thought I could remember what I had learned 20+ years ago but I didnt! I recapped some information and received much more than I bargained for! I absolutely love this academy, the students that became my barber family, and Mr. E who left a footprint in my heart! Im thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this growing industry and the knowledge I will carry on into my career as a Class A Barber/Cosmetologist!!! Ive never been in an all black barber shop. Ive never felt so discriminated in my life!I took my son in for a last minute hair cut. I felt this place was convenient because it was right next to a grocery store where I was able to withdraw some cash.I walked in and a man was waiting with a baby. So we should have been next.My family and I sat down in the waiting area.A few minutes later, another family walked in.Family Feud was on TV. We had a few laughs and waited patiently.Then the Maury Show came on. A good half hour had passed.I guess another barber walked in and asked who was next because the barber that was already there told him the kids from the family that walked in after us were next.WE IMMEDIATELY WALKED OUT. You dont want my business! FINE with me!!!Theres a reason why there is so much prejudice in this country; and its usually not coming from non blacks!
