The cupcakes were nasty they do not have a variety of flavors. If I wanted a vanilla or strawberry cupcake I could have just made it at home. There was this black girl in the front with an attitude, but of course with the white people she was super cheerful and welcoming LOL. So much for trying a new bakery near our area definitely do not recommend.

Delicious cupcakes. Will definitely be back to try other flavors and ice cream. I also got some puppy friendly cakes made of peanut butter and carrot.

Just went to small cakes on 2055 Westheimer Rd #115, Houston, TX 77098- the young lady inside handled my food with no gloves on. She didn’t wash her hands before or after she handled my food- I was only going to get two cupcakes but after she handled them without gloves or hand washing I got the cake in a jar I guess that what they call it because she didn’t touch that at all. Covid is real!!!

This smallcakes has NEW ownership and new bakery cupcake makers 🧁 and you can most definitely tell. The staff is always helpful and nice and the cupcakes and ice cream are delicious.

Its alright. Too much frosting overpowering the good taste of the cakes. But its an alright place. You can tell they love what they do. Cakes taste great.

I needed 12 birthday cupcakes, and it was very short notice and they were very accommodating.... Nice!

I coordinated a book signing event and Smallcakes provided the cupcakes for our cake table design based on the book title, Shadows In The Garden. They did an outstanding job and the cupcakes were so good!

Update 5/4/2021: This location has re-opened so that is exciting news! Service was friendly and as delicious as ever so wanted to update my review.Tried to go there today but there was a sign posted by the landlord that rent had not been paid. Guessing this location will no longer be open soon.

This little cupcake shop is a total gem. The owners are so sweet and welcoming and the cupcakes are absolutely amazing! They will even make special request cupcakes with just a few days notice. I can honestly say these cupcakes out beat all of the other cupcake competitors in the area. The cakes are delicious, fresh and super moist. This is my store of choice when I am having a sweet craving. You should really check out this shop if you havent already. You wont be disappointed.

I am very picky on cupcakes. Never really liked the crave and all because WAY too much icing that is too sweet for me. I always ended up taking it off, but the cake was never that special.These cupcakes...oh my gosh....honestly best I have ever had!I had a Red Velvet. The cake alone is SO moist and delicious. Perfect amount of icing, but also the icing was a cream cheese icing like it should be and not just a blob of sugar.My husband had the Birthday Cake, and said it was so good he wanted another.So we will definitely be going back.

We purchased an assortment of a dozen different flavors and enjoyed them all!! I highly recommend the Carrot Cake and Red Velvet. The cupcakes were fluffy and moist and all icings were smooth and creamy. We will definitely be back next time we are in Houston!

The chocolate cupcake I bought from Smallcakes was the BEST CUPCAKE IVE EVER HAD. It was SO moist and chocolatey and delicious.Carrie was extremely friendly and helpful, even as I came just before closing. She even sold me a couple of cute little candles to go with it, so I didnt have to buy a whole pack!Thanks for the awesome cupcake experience, Carrie! Ill be back!! :)

Ill just say that Im so glad this place opened up here in the neighborhood. I had no idea what this place was so went in and was like cupcakes! So Im sure we all have tried crave, sprinkles, etc... right? I like this place better. You can taste and feel the home made tlc in them, since its a mom and pops type biz. They will also do special requests on flavors and frosting, you cant get that at the big chains. Moist and delicious. We are definitely coming back!

I had a chocolate cake with pink butter cream frosting.It was delicious! The cake is a great flavor, fluffy yet moist. It had a subtle brownie flavor. The icing was creamy and tasted great.My friend had red velvet and liked it.They had 9 different flavors available. They all looked beautiful and it was hard to pick.The staff was friendly and allowed us to sit with our Starbucks coffees from next door and enjoy our cupcakes.Great location. Take your family for a treat!

Brought my kids in today and they left saying, I couldnt possibly be any more content! Cupcakes are moist, rich, and there were flavors all of us could enjoy. They decided that these would be perfect for their upcoming birthdays as well. Looking forward to coming here again!

Had the cookies and cream and lemon drop cupcakes and they were absolutely delicious. The lady working (owner?) was super friendly and you could tell she really loves her job, which in the service industry is hard to find. Our dogs also loved the pup cakes we brought home for them which was a nice bonus.

Bought 4 different cupcakes all tasted old. The lemon jad no lemon flavor the red velvet tasted gross.. never again

I was searching the map to find bakeries close to me; especially ones Ive never tried. I have a huge sweet tooth and was craving a pastry or piece of cake. I came across Smallcakes and saw that they are all about cupcakes and that was it for me. The fact that that they had sugar free cupcakes today was a plus as I try to watch my sugar intake.When I came in, it was about 45min before they closed, but you would not have known by the energy both ladies had. They answered my questions and in the end, they made an extra keto friendly (sugar free) red velvet cupcake and then I had to go all in for the carrot cake cupcake. Ive never had keto friendly cupcakes, but the red velvet ones were delish! It has been years since Ive had a piece of carrot cake, much less a cupcake, and it did not disappoint. It was moist and the icing was light but SO full of flavor. One thing that bugs me about cupcakes is when you take them out of the paper cup and then the cake starts falling apart. You will not have that problem with these cupcakes. They do not crumble apart and make a mess.As I mentioned before, the ladies were absolutely wonderful to chat with, and more than happy to help me with anything. I asked if they only did the sugar free cupcakes on Tuesday, and was told if I give enough notice (Ill have to call back to find out how much it was....it wasnt long), they could make a 1/2 dozen. When I asked about flavors, well....lets just say I could have a cupcake everyday of the year and never have the same flavor. Their recipe book has over 400 different flavors. This little shop is truly a little gem, hidden in a strip center. I would highly reccomend you give it a try. Oh, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Great place to take the kiddos for a treat.

I love Smallcakes and this location exceeded expectations. The owner will allow customers, like myself, to pick a specialty flavor for a day. I chose Rainbow Sherbet, and she informed me they would need to use Strawberry as opposed to Raspberry. My fiancee hates raspberry so it was great. We got there as she was putting some out and they were still just a tad bit warm. And to be honest it was the best cupcake Ive ever had, anywhere. My fiancee and I used to be Sprinkles addicts and she would never eat the cupcakes by our house (Pearland/Manvel area). But even she agreed on how great it was and is now open to trying more. I will say that I like the fruity flavors more. These include strawberry, orange creamsicle, cherry limeade, strawberry lemonade and of course Rainbow Sherbet. Give any of these a shot and you will not be disappointed.

A friend and I noticed this gem next door to our favorite froyo place (Yogurtland). We decided to pop in to check it out. The whimsical window art drew us in. Once inside, we felt quite at ease with the charming decor and color palette.The cupcakes were showcased simply and tastefully with handwritten flavor card labels.The saleswoman (mother of the owner) warmly and cordially answered our questions about the business and its products, such as the pupcakes (adorable dog treats), and even explained the history of a particular piece on the wall. She was quite patient as I agonized on which cupcake I wanted; I got the Fat Elvis.. She carefully packed the two cupcakes in a box carrier. Since it was extremely hot outside (and more so inside a locked car), we asked if we could return to pick up them after we got our frozen yogurt from next door, and she allowed us.The cake portion was perfectly moist and deliciously airy; the icing was creamy and so richly flavored that I was unable to finish it. I look forward to trying another flavor on my next visit!

There is lots of variety and they are very filling. The atmosphere is warm, and they take great care in making sure everything is satisfactory.
