I bought some evolving skies packs from the store and i noticed it was tampered with. I went ahead and opened it and all the energys and trainer code cards are missing. Theres eraser shaving all over the cards as well. Im honestly just disappointed about this because I always buy my cards from here. Hopefully this is just a one time thing...Update: Knowing it was a factory issue makes up for it a lot. I hope to continue shopping here in the future

Amazing store. The general manager is always there (haven’t asked for his name yet), and he is super knowledgeable. He has helped me with every one of my purchases and has gotten me into magic. Great card selection and plenty of tables. They even sell snacks! Will continue to shop here for as long as I live in the area. Seriously the general manager is amazing, saw a negative review for him and it’s just not accurate. I have been to many game stores and none have service quite like this one. 10/10

Disorganized, cluttered store. A poorly stocked and random selection of board games, only a few D&D books and a handful of miniatures on a single, small cardboard display. Tons of MTG. Open boxes and wrappers litter the store and overflowing garbage cans. Leftover pizza boxes in the drink cooler. Poor use of floorspace and half the store is occupied with boxes that probably belong in storage. Dont come here looking for a wide selection.Id really like to support this store, but its just not for me.

Tyler is super knowledgeable and helpful! Plenty of TCGs for purchase and tournaments, tables for play, and snacks. They even sell other table top games and Funkos! Loved spending time with Sammy the shop cat as well.

Wide array of products. Plenty of parking. Prices are normal for your local card shop. The guy whose always there 24/7 is Tyler. Very knowledgeable, polite, straightforward, and awesome and managing the place. The only thing I dislike is when you go look through a binder of cards, you cant pull out what you want and have to bother him for every individual card. I understand hes working solo but it is what it is right. 🤷🤷🤷

Its ok, sub par service unless youre a regular, seems like. Decent prices limited selection on Yu-Gi-Oh. Only other complaint is that it is a bit messy and the odor is a bit strong.

I’ve been to them all, but Heroes definitely is the only place I will go for cards, supplies, and tournaments when we can safely have them again.

THE RUDEST STAFF I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN MY LIFE, the white sweaty guy with the edgar haircut is rude and dismissive before you can get a sentence out he cuts you off. From someone who does their research on all of their cards and comps he tries to scam you right in your face. i swear that man was more focused on that 2” inch tv more that the costumer. NOT TO MENTION HE HAD TRASH ALL On THE FLOOR BEHIND THE REGISTER AND AND COMPUTER . dont go here at all better off wherever else tbh

When I went it looked like a super chill atmosphere and they enforced mask wearing, which is a huge plus! I just wish there was a box/binder to browse cards to buy and look for needed cards for your deck/collection.

Great store for card collectors. My son had a deck of Pokemon cards that contain a few counterfeits. Cant blame the boy for not knowing any better. The owner has a bit of an eccentric personality, but the man knows his cards you cant deny that. He quickly skimmed through my boys cards and respectfully pointed out what cards werent authentic. I appreciated his respect towards my son so much that I gave him my business and replaced all my sons counterfeits for authentic ones, upgraded a few, got him a few charizards and multiple Pokemon theme deck boxes. Needless to say my boys day was made and couldnt be happy to give this store my business. We will return again soon.

I’ve been going to heroes since I was 14 and just starting out on yugioh, I’m now 22 so it’s been about 8 years. From the get go, I felt welcomed and at home here. The players were inviting and gave me tips and cards to become a better player. Tyler has been there since day one I walked in and every day after that, it’s always nice to walk in and be greeted by name and have a chance to talk cards and anime with him.The store’s set up is great, with plenty of product and space for people to shop and play. The tournaments are a lot of fun and Tyler makes them even better by being a judge that is knowledgeable about rulings, which is more than I can say for a lot of other tournament stores.I’m in college now I’m a different city so I’m not able to stop by as much as I used to, but whenever I’m back home I try to stop by even just to say hi to Tyler since him and this store were such a big part of my childhood and I have so many fond memories of this place. I recommend this place for anyone interested in games, anime, or anything else along those lines, it really is a one of a kind card shop.Not to mention the fantastic Asian market right next door;)

Every interaction he has with me is like he hates me. I’ve tried buying cards, looking at cards, selling my own cards and I ALWAYS get a dismissive “no” with attitude.I’ve seen him literally go from nice and welcoming jovial attitude to a customer and even giving them free product and then turn to me and give me a dismissive “what do you want? Is that it? No sir, I’m still pricing those cards. That’ll be 67.87”I guess trying to negotiate prices soured him on dealing with me. Real gatekeeper attitude. It’s like pulling teeth every time I talk to him. This last visit was the last straw. I should’ve just walked out with the way he talked to me. Tried to give the guy the benefit of the doubt Time and time again but I’ve had enough. Will never shop here again. And no one should either.

Heroes collectibles is an awesome place to come play with wholesome individuals. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and everytime I step foot in feel like I’m welcomed! I’ve been a patron of Heroes for over 15 years. The store is large and spacious with plenty of room for casual and competitive play wether it be card games, board games, miniatures or D&D. There are plenty of snacks and refreshments for sale and you can even bring your own as long as you throw your trash away. Other gaming stores can feel stuffy or hot but Heroes has plenty of fans and it always feels pleasant even if it’s 100+ degrees outside. They have a plethora of product ranging from sealed booster packs to pre-constructed decks, a wide selection of highly sought after singles and even accessories such as card sleeves to dice and play mats all at a fair price. Jon, the store owner is a great guy and is always willing to assist you with whatever you need. Tyler, the general manager is an awesome dude who knows practically everything about anything in the store and goes out of his way to find singles for you or just give you advice as well as friendly customer service. If you haven’t been yet go check it out!

Me and my friend when we were about 13 or 14 went to Heroes Collectibles to play D&D and when we got the the people who played there treated us like we were 5 and kept making fun us even though we were just trying to have a fun time, no one ever help us we were bullied endlessly until we had enough and left but unfortunately this ruined the D&D experience of my friend as it was his first foray into the game. Even when I asked if I could try and DM, the person I talked to just laughed at me and said nothing else, this is the worst experience Ive ever had in a games store. The only reason I dont give this a 1 star is because the card community there is pretty good and my friends brother who came to play some Yugioh had a really good time.

Since I live nearby and am an active Pokémon Card Collector, I sometimes come here and I never want to leave, there is a lot of good cards as well as booster packs that the owner has. There is also funko pops and a lot of seating for hosting tournaments there. I do recommend stopping by here they also have Yu-Gi-Yo Cards as well as other card options.

I’m responding to the comment under my last review where I mentioned my situation about selling my ghost rares.(review was posted 3 months ago). When I went to the shop it had been before everything went on lock down. I understand when you say “we would never consider ghost rares to be worth nothing “, but I don’t know what else to tell you. Not sure who the man was that told me that but all he said was “yea there’s nothing here worth me buying or of big value”. He was a white male with brown hair I believe I can’t remember exactly. The next day I sold the ghost rares for a couple hundred bucks so I didn’t know what to make of it.

Bad customer service. Not friendly and welcoming. Although Im a new customer I avoid asking questions because you just dont know what attitude youre gonna get. I go there only because its the closest trading shop to me.

Staff is very rude and acts like they dont have time for their customers. They also try to cut you on money if you’re not careful so make sure you know what you’re selling. Definitely would not recommend this shop

Store front employee was completely rude. He didn’t let us play our own version of a tag-team game. He also doesn’t have any good hygiene, nor does he pull up his pants when reaching upwards for product. I also offered cards for sale but he refused to buy them even when they’re on a recent updated buy list. Also uses repulsive profane vocabulary in front of clients. This is not a children friendly place on my first impression.

I come here for 6 different TCGs. My boyfriend comes here for Dragon Ball Super, Magic the Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh. I go in for Final Fantasy, Force of Will, and Pokemon. Weve never had a problem finding what we want or with price gouging. The man in charge stays true to the market price, and the only thing extra I pay for is tax and gas, and not shipping and handling. I enjoy that he sells booster boxes and the packs individually, and not just the packs like most shops. The place is popular so if its a new set it does sell out easily(aka: Anything Pokemon), but the posts he makes about it helps to know if he has a product, or when something new is coming, or sometimes even a restock. What keeps me going back and dropping hundreds of dollars is the raffels he has on the last Saturday of every month. If you end up winning you get the choice of any free 1 booster box you want. Hes created a great set up and atmosphere to try out a new deck, and hang for a couple of games at a table. He also offers snacks and drink if youre there for any tournaments he hosts, or if youre just there from open to close. As someone who goes there for 6 different card games, dont expect the oldest sets, but expect multiple and a variety of the latest seasons. He does have plans on getting new card games that are coming to, or up and coming to America and the Houston area. 10/10 Ive recommended this place to 20+ people, if I had more friends, Id recommend the shop more. Keep it up.

I’m more of a casual player and and I enjoy less-serious formats— but I can’t knock off stars due to my personal tastes.

Not sure who it was either the manager or owner doesn’t know what they’re saying when it comes to value of cards and their worth. Took him some ghost rares one day and he said they weren’t worth anything so he wasn’t interested and was kind of rude about but whatever. AnywayThe next day I sold them for $420 on a Houston yugioh Facebook group so it really shows he doesn’t know what he’s selling or buying. So if you’re trying to cards definitely don’t come here but come if you’re trying to meet other players it’s not bad. Overall shop looks cool just wish the staff had more knowledge of their market.

The shop owners a great guy, but he won’t let you buy things inside the store from other people and won’t let you use your credit card or debit card for anything less than 5 dollars. I visit this place at least once every few months. They are very well stocked and the prices are decent and reasonable. I would advise not going to this place on nights they have their tournaments. The tournament organizer tends to get easily irritated and has an attitude problem while dealing with customers or people who frequent this place. I understand dealing with a bunch of nerds can be stressful but there is no reason to talk down to people. Especially to potential new customers.

Went there for some MTG singles while out of town and the staff was incredibly patient, even with a difficult customer in line before me. I provided a list of what I was looking for and, despite seeming somewhat disorganized, the guy helping me knew exactly where everything was. Definitely one of the fastest and easiest visits to a shop Ive had.

My daughter loves Pokemon so I brought her here to get some cards. Great place to gather for people who like trading/playing different card games. If I was into that sort of thing, I would definitely come here. The place kind of had a body odor smell when I went one of the two times. I am guessing its from all the kids who go in and dont shower for days? From what I understand, thats a thing with a lot of hardcore gamers and the like? Still a great place with friendly, accommodating workers.

Came here to buy 2 32 pack Pokémon card box’s and some of the cards were chafed due to hard handling. If possible,please be more careful as cards deteriorate in value if they’re in bad condition. Over 25% of the cards were subject to a bit of bending .other than that,the place was lively and clean with nice staff. Will visit again,but please be more careful with the cards

I got back into Magic the Gathering about a year and a half ago and felt right at home with the community here (I only play Magic, so I can only speak on that behalf). The experience Ive had so far here has been very positive. The service has been great and the tournaments are very well run.Again, speaking only in terms of MtG, just like one of the other reviewers said, the singles department has seen very gradual improvement and have been very impressed by the selection. I have also been impressed by the various gaming supplies and accessories that are available.There are times where multiple tournaments are held at the same time, but the store owners do a fantastic job of keeping things organized while at the same time providing great service to customers that walk in.Overall, I highly recommend this place if you want to play cards and have a great time.

This is a great place to play and it serves a large area of Houston, resulting in crowded tournaments. (This is good) I can positively guarantee that any review you have read trashing the customer service or specific employees is ludicrous. Do you think you could handle managing hundreds of people playing 3-4 tournaments at a time with a meek, push-over, the customer is always right attitude? I think not. The serious attitude comes with the territory and I have much respect for the employees at heroes and their ability to have one man wrangle hundreds of sweaty competitive gamers on a busy night.

Ive been going here for a few years now and can honestly say its very well run as well as a great place to play cards. Are they busy on Friday nights, yea but its also a Friday night what do you expect. they have a pretty good collection of standard cards and are always working to increase their stock in modern/legacy cards, to which they have a decent amount already. the staff has always been very nice and friendly with me and i have never encountered any problems with them. to put the cherry on top the pay out here is amazing if you can top a tournament. I would highly recommend this store to anyone interested in fun, friendly, and enjoyable experience.

Fantastic card shop with numerous games including Yugio, mtg, Pokémon and more. Stopped by for a small mtg pull list for my commander deck. Had all but one card I needed. Good about getting inventory in. A little overwhelming with all the game tables but it looks like a great community. Will come back for my mtg needs.

Great place to go if youre looking for a competitive environment to play Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic The Gathering, Pokemon, or even Vanguard.The case is usually pretty good, if you have an issue with pricing you can generally ask them about it, prizing is very good, X-1s usually get prizing.Just do not be caught buying or selling cards here if you want to come back.

I moved to Houston a couple years back and was looking for a place to play Magic again. This shop is great (albeit a bit of a drive for me, but its worth it). Tyler has always run tournaments well/fairly, has good prize support, and is generally a great guy and easy to get along with. I can speak for the MTG community here only, but theyre also great and Ive made some good friends at this shop. Would definitely recommend to others.

The owner is a bit quirky, but I like that Im a game store owner. They have weekly tournaments for MTG and many other TCG games. I saw Dragonball, Yu Gi Oh, Card Fight, MTG and several others. He has a 3 for $10 special on current MTG boosters. Plenty of accessories and older cards as well. Definitely check it out. I am a bit too busy to talk about the tournament scene but seems to be a good crowd around.

Being the closest shop to me, this was naturally the easiest decision to be the place to get back into playing Magic. Tyler has always been helpful when he isnt in the middle of running admin for one of the tournaments. Pricing was fantastic, especially considering most of the tournament entries came with a booster with your entry! The community was very welcoming for the most part, and even offered to loan me a deck to play some EDH with, as I was just getting back into the game. Never a bad experience had, and would definitely recommend coming in and checking out one of the events.

Heroes is hands down the place to go for TCG, Tyler is the most knowledgeable person and always can make sure your happy with your purchase or with what your looking for.

Great place to hang out and play tournaments. The prizes are balanced out, the staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the inventory they sell. The manager even dug through their inventory for a half hour to find me specific cards from sets that were out over five years ago.

I will be very honest here. Its a nice store and all, but the manager (skinny white guy) is very rude and I didnt feel welcomed. When I asked him questions he answered very rudely in a condescending way. Also, I couldnt even look through his pile of cards to pick; I had to know which ones I wanted. All other stores Ive been to let me take a look at their cards because thats good business and it gives me a choice, but not this store.

Went here a few times to play EDH on Thursdays. They have MTG tournament and it gets pretty packed. Overall, the place is decent and Tyler helped me with whatever I needed when buying singles. Overall, a satisfactory experience.

I was very glad to find this shop. I didnt get the name of the guy who helped my son and me, but he was very patient and kind dealing with my 7 year old who is just getting into Yugioh (7 year old excited to see every card imaginable to him and more!). I appreciated his knowledge of the game too. We will be back.

Lack of inventory, not looking to increase its inventory, non attentive or friendly counter associate.From the moment I walked through the door, the gentalman behind the counter seemed to be inconvenienced by my desire to do business with them. Their booster packs were well priced. But hats about it. They were missing a lot of desired cards. Cards I possessed and would have happily traded for In store credit had the clerk been half attentive or decent.I get the opinion this store stays alive due to FNM activity. In that regard it has plenty of space. Just dont look to get a last minute Chandra or even an Aether Hub before your match.
