Ordered 10 steel plates, for brackets to secure a second story safety rail. Talked with both Balaszar guys, and I am so impressed, I had to share. They returned emails lightning fast, were both super aware of my needs, desires, and wants. Thought it would be a few days before got notice of shipping, but had it in less than three hours. I recommend this firm with my highest level of confidence. I called two local steel companies prior, both refused to assist me. I will be using Interstate Powder Coating to paint these locally, but for any additional steel needs....G A Steel puts to shame the local Professionals. Procured advertised 3/8 steel flat plate online (ebay) from GA Steel LLC, TX. Plate reacted like spring metal when cut; warping 1/2 over 24 span (see photo #1). 2nd uncut plate was then evaluated with same severe warpage as 1st (see photo #2). Plate included evidence of cold-rolling process for flattening; with surface imperfections flattened against body. In addition; plate thickness measured at 0.416; not 3/8 as advertised (see photo #3). Contacted Baltazar Guerra at GA Steel, Baltazar initially refused to honor return of defective product; immediately claiming steel was mill tolerance flat and supplied as specified; also sighted return policy not published in original agreement. Baltazar ignored all provided photo evidence; claiming he was familiar with plate and product history; i.e. never being abused or post production processed in any way. Steel received was clearly salvage-grade; damaged by either high-heat exposure or mechanical deformation stress. GA Steels refusal to acknowledge problem, fabrication of facts, and failure to take responsibility for defective product; reflects criminal culture and willingness to defraud customers. GA Steel has targeted ebay customers as easy online means to push damaged, sub-grade, and inferior goods.GA Steel LLC is in business to sell salvage-grade steel at standard-grade prices. The company is counting on fact, you as the customer, have little knowledge of steel quality standards or tolerances.After opening case with ebay, and reviewing companys alternate product listings; identified company published photo showing stack (perhaps 100 or more) of same steel plate in TX facility. Photo clearly documents severe warpage in every plate depicted; identical to warpage in received product. The same warpage Baltazar claims is mill tolerance flat (photo #4). BTW: stack of steel plates in photo are represented by GA Steel as higher-quality than those procured. Buyer beware; these people are crooks.

I ordered some 1/2” steel discs and I was really impressed with the price, quality, and service! I’m using them as my place for all of my future steel products!
