Every time I go to The Learned Owl I find a new favorite book. The staff is friendly and helpful. And shopping here supports small businesses AND local bookstores. Cant go wrong!

A little slice of heaven. This bookstore is charming and offers a wonderful selection of books. The customer service is great when ordering too. They have helped me a ton to build our collection of kids books for my 2nd grader who is a picky reader. They call when your order is in and offer contactless pick-up for those who don’t feel comfortable perusing the shelves.

The only independent bookstore for miles! They boast a great selection, offer socially distant browsing options and free gift wrapping. A delightful shop with good vibes and a long history of being there for bibliophiles.

Hudson is a lovely little town with a lovely preserved downtown district. There you will find this lovely local book shop. It is three floors in a nearly 200 year old building- a rarity in this party of the country. Go there, buy a book, then get a cup of coffee down the street or take a walk in Hudson, youll have yourself a fine afternoon

Fabulous Independent Bookstore in Hudson. Wonderfully helpful staff in a comfortable atmosphere. Will be back again and again. Plus free parking and great restaurants within easy walking distance. A must visit for any and all book lovers.

Very cool independent book store. It has a basement, a ground floor and an upstairs crammed with an eclectic assortment of books. They have a special rack with all the classics like Don Quixote, George Orwell, Arthur Miller, Hemmingway, etc. Lady I met running the store was very kind, pleasant and helpful. Definitely a wonderful place to find a gift for yourself or any book lover you know!

Such a quaint little bookshop. Its so nice walking in to an old building and seeing all the books lining shelves to the ceiling. They were super friendly and do little events. My kids loved it in there and were so happy to find books theyre excited for.

One of the dwindling number of independent bookshops. They have a nicely arranged selection so kids are not milling around lengthy biographies. The shop is cozy with books a variety of books, more like the bookshop from a fantasy novel than a volume bookseller. The staff was helpful and looked up the book I was thinking of and offered to order since they didnt have it on hand.

Love bookstores. Did not love this one. Went in for philosophy books. Almost no selection. Most of it was Christian spirituality. Not the same thing. Not even close. But books are books, so jard to be too critical. Always can find a good one.

This really is an amazing bookstore! Lots of different genres of books that are displayed nicely. Staff is very helpful! I can hardly wait until I get back here again.

Hard to navigate and no bathrooms, but books are arranged appropriately and subjects are easy to find, except for travel, which is placed near childrens books. Surprising lack of world history books. Free food when I went.

Their inventory is unique and worth exploring. This place can easily become a preferred spot for any bookworm.

As a single woman with one three year old child I was watched like I was a thief, and my child was treated like a tyrant. My daughter was enjoying herself, the quaint little children’s section, and the toys. I was not enjoying being watched like a circus animal by an older woman who clearly must be fearful of a tattooed patron. I first hoped she was just a bitter hag who hated all of humanity but she verified her distaste in me and my daughter specifically when a blonde suburbanite woman with four screaming children came in and she greeted them with literally open arms and a grinning face. I won’t be shopping here again. What a horrid experience.

Great local book store with lots of character. They have neat childrens story times Theyo partnered with our school, Hudson Montessori School, for Grandparents Day. We went there for great books and they gave a portion of the sale back the school. Great partnership.

I had been trying to find a couple of books that were out of print for about a year on my own. Kate at the Learned Owl was able to find both of them for me. Ill be shopping here first for my future book orders. They are AMAZING!

I’m in the UK and have been a massive Cinda Williams Chima fan for a long time. I’ve always been after her books in the US hardback but theyre so hard to find in the UK. Cinda her self pointed me to this indie bookstore and I could not be happier that she did!The people at learned owl, especially Kate, have been amazing and so accommodating. They’ve not only found my long sought after books but they’re also getting one of them signed the the author for me!I highly recommend this store. You won’t be disappointed.
