We had a really good experience with Buttercream providing our wedding cake. Our tasting was fantastic, all of their flavors were amazing. They worked with us on a custom design for the cake and made sure we were happy with everything. The only issue we had was our backup sheet cake, which was meant to feed 20+ people at our wedding, got missed in the final proposal so our cake meant for 40 people had to be stretched into 60 slices. However, they made it up to us with a refund and an upgrade on our anniversary cake. Overall we would work with Buttercream again and recommend them to other people.

I was excited to get special cupcakes from Buttercream for my sisters birthday but very disappointed when I picked them up. I found out that I wasnt getting fresh cupcakes from a bakery in Hudson, WI as I expected but instead I received frozen cupcakes that Im assuming were delivered from their main location. Im so glad there was time between pickup and serving them to guests because they were literally frozen solid. My annoyance only increased when the clerk denied that the cupcakes were frozen until I tapped my finger on a solid raspberry covered in ice crystals. The flavor was good but presentation was not - raspberries, frosting and toppings were a bit flat with a defrosted look. The website should clarify that orders placed with the Hudson, WI location (and Eau Claire?) will not be filled with fresh baked goods. So disappointed!!!UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review, Buttercream called me to apologize for my experience. She explained that my order was mixed with another where the customer requested their cupcakes to be frozen for travel reasons. I added a star for the quick follow up and apology.

I bought my wedding cake from Buttercream because I love the amaretto. We got a decorated small cake and a sheet cake to make serving easier. When we cut into the sheet cake it was filled with strawberries the round cake was amaretto. Their cakes are very expensive, it is beyond disappointing to pay that much for the wrong cake.

We used Buttercream to create our wedding cake and loved the experience. The cake turned out beautiful and delicious and we got a ton of compliments. We also thought their customer service was top notch. They coordinated with our other wedding vendors to match our decor and used our wedding flowers on the cake itself. We also really appreciated the cost saving measures that Nina suggested to us. Overall, Buttercream made the experience with our cake stress-free, affordable, and enjoyable- which makes them a perfect choice for a wedding!

Held my tongue as long as I could. Meeting the people here gave my daughter confidence to use them for her wedding cakes. The tasting session went well but from there this has been a comedy of errors and that is putting it lightly. The cakes delivered to the wedding while decorated correctly were not the flavors chosen by my daughter. When confronted for a refund after the wedding they pointed to the contract and said they would refund $75 (less than 10 percent of the total bill) because You still had cake to eat... That was 1 year ago. They give you a cake for your 1year anniversary. My daughter ordered her cake and said they would come and pick it up because they cant guarantee a delivery time and they had things to do. My daughter called to verify that the cake was there before driving to pick it up this morning and was told that it was on the delivery truck... Unbelievable.. hopefully the cake is the correct flavor! Updated review; the bakery that makes their cake screwed up the order and sent the incorrect flavors to the wedding and demanded that this location adhere to the contract which only allowed the small refund. The anniversary cake was correct and were offered an additional complimentary cake for the delay.

Buttercream made our wedding cake and it was fantastic! We loved the experience we had with them and dont regret our decision at all. Our guests loved the cake and cookies. If you need desserts, Buttercream is where to go!

This place makes amazing cupcakes as well as wedding cakes. I was here with a friend of mine that is getting married in this place allowed us to sample all of the cakes as well as have the bride and groom pick out a cake that they light. This place will make accommodations 2 drop off and set up for your special event. I found the lady that runs this place very knowledgeable and Cakes as well as designs. If youre looking to shop local and have a great tasting dessert table I would recommend to stop here and at least try their cupcakes. They are some of the best ones Ive ever had

Perfect. Tasted perfect. Looked perfect. Cant stop thinking about getting my 1 year anniversary cake! (Yes mine, not ours, its all mine!)

They lost our order form... I called to confirm 2 weeks before the wedding and they said they didnt have it. They told us we never paid when we did. When we met for final payment they lied about our meeting time. Luckily, a cake was made and delivered before the reception. However, the wedding coordinator had to call 4 times before someone answered and brought the cake a half hour before guest arrival. The cake looked rushed and the ribbon was not the color we confirmed at the final meeting. All in all the cake showed up and tasted good, but we had been in contact with them for months about the cake so it was disappointing to have these issues.

A few years ago however it was such a bad experience I remember it like it was yesterday. Hands down Buttercream makes the best “tasting” cakes but that’s about where it ends. The customer service at the Stillwater location is ridiculous. I have not yet used the other location, St Paul. Ordered 3 cakes, all different flavors and after picking up the cakes and getting home, I realized one of the flavors was wrong, pumpkin. And I’m absolutely sure of this because I hate pumpkin. When I called to let the owner know, she insisted that was what I ordered, no apology, no if’s, that she was not mistaken, there was nothing she could do about it and that pumpkin is delicious, she’s sure my guests will love it. **Eye roll** Might I add she was not very nice about it either, a bit cold and harsh. Later the same day, she called back realizing it was her mistake and put down the wrong flavor for me because someone else with the same last name had requested pumpkin on their order. She said I could keep the cake (because I obviously wasn’t going to not serve a cake at my event being as I had a 3 tier stand with only 2 of the cakes made in the correct flavor), she would refund me the $75 but not the fee to have it custom decorated and provide me with the same cake I initially requested “free of charge”. I didn’t receive a refund for two full weeks. Called the owner at which point she said she will send out a check. Finally got the check in the mail but never got my free cake. Did not want to deal with the Stillwater owner anymore. Next time, I will try out the St Paul location and hopefully they have better service!

We buy my husband’s birthday cakes here every year. He’s a professional baker and loves the carrot cake!

We use Buttercream for very special occasions. They are hands down the best tasting cakes. You will not be disappointed.
